Dr H was very friendly and engaging and gave me concrete answers about my eye condition. Salome was very patient when I tried on half the glasses at the store and also gave good advice for my eye condition. I will preferentially use this facility when I need to be fitted for contacts next year.

The office is following Covid regulations very well. For an annual exam, the staff was very nice and professional. I decided to buy glasses and was basically handed a giant bill at the end. No explanation of what was added, what would be covered by insurance, what was not. I was told to go ahead and get a contact fitting if I wanted to buy contacts later on in the year. This ended up not being covered by my insurance and I was billed $115 for a 5 minute check to see if the same contacts I use every day “fit”. Good for an annual exam, but I recommend buying your contacts or glasses elsewhere since I left feeling very mislead about costs.

Went here to get my eye exam and new glasses. Salome was extremely helpful, and patient. Even with covid, and having to sanitize all the glasses I tried, she was really patient. The entire staff here is really nice, and i would come back here for my next exam.

I feel safe and respected with the practices COVID protocols. They dont want to risk their patients nor staff to the huge variability of personal mask construction/use/exposure, so they give you a medical disposable mask and they are very very careful to wipe everything down as you move from exam room to exam room.Now as for Dr H. I gave him my records in advance and he did a test that I dont recall having before (at least not in depth). It confirmed my diagnosis. He walked me through the optical imaging and explained everything that was (and was not ) happening.My Rx didnt change enough to require a new pair of glasses and the staff were totally chill with that. It was so relaxed. Other places Ive been have been really pushy on the eyeglass sales side of the house.

I had a perfect experience while getting fitted for glasses and contacts. Very professional, polite, and courteous staff. They took a personal and caring approach with me. The optometrist was very experienced. He took time to explain the reason for each test, how it worked, and showed me how they were interpreting the results. Fully explained and answered all my questions without feeling rushed. Even included a personal session with one of the great staff members where they patiently taught me how to apply and remove the contact lens.

From greetings to goodbyes I always feel well taken care of by this office. This time, I had to get new frames and the person helping me was even a pro at picking out frames that looked good on me and I liked. I didn’t have to pick through all of the frames, she had a good idea and brought me a few and I found my frames among those... easy peasy. Sitting in the doc’s chair is like catching up with a friend. Dr. H is knowledgeable and laid back making for a good, quick experience.

I loved the doctors and everyone that helped with the appointment, but I got so much attitude from the desk workers when trying to sort out insurance and buying contacts that I will 100% not be coming back here. It ruined the whole experience.

The staff and doctors were thorough and personable. Answered all of my questions and helped me pick out my glasses. Prices on contacts and glasses were competitively priced and Paige broke down the cost of the different options for me. Would definitely recommend!Update: 9-25-19. As much as I liked people there the first time I went, I made an appointment online yesterday for the 26th. They are apparently either too busy or too lazy now to tell you that oops… That appointment is not actually available. Never mind they have my phone number and email address. Thank heaven I called today! I will certainly be looking for other optometrists I the Brazos valley. I’m done with TSO. If you are too lazy or busy to pick up the phone to leave a message, probably not what I am looking for’

I came in for contact lenses and the staff was super friendly, they have a nice store front location, and the general experience was pleasant.

Over the top with great technology, a doctor who explains things plainly., and most of all a very warm welcoming and caring staff. I was thoroughly pleased with my visit.

Ive been going to the optometrist for 14 years and this is hands down one of the best places Ive been to. The doctors are very knowledgable about their field and even taught me some things I didnt know about my own eyes. This a great facility with great staff that actually wants to make sure you can see rather than just collecting insurance money like other places.

Went to this location and was helped by nice young ladies named Bri, Taylor and Laura. They welcomed me when I walked in and was very accommodating with my contact appointment. Will definitely be coming back to this location in the future for all my eye care needs.

Staff was mostly friendly, my Dr. was very young, and I prejudged for it, fearing lack of experience, but she had a wealth of knowledge and explained everything to me and she is on top of her game. Really liked her. Prices of glasses so expensive, its a shame the monopoly of glasses companies. I get my glasses online, very stylish, much cheaper. I use my insurance for exams and contact lens.

I cannot state enough good things about the people of Texas State Optical. They make everything a breeze when it comes to my eye health and especially the ordering process. The doctor and staff are AMAZING!!! I work a lot with Laura and she is a rock star. Even being away from College Station and I need something, they are johnny on the spot to get it to me. Would recommend TSO to anyone, except my worst enemy because I wouldnt my worst enemy treated so great!

Prices of frames were too high and they were not people friendly. It was more of a transactional experience than personal. I was recommended to purchase excessively higher value lenses along with other products and services that seemed wasteful.

Highly overpriced frames and services!They broke a part of my frame during changing lenses and charged me $50, while it was their fault.Be careful for what you sign. They will ask you to sign a Patient Own Frame Agreement and will enforce you to pay for their mistake!Very unfair!!!

Called and made an appointment for an eye exam on last week to be seen this Monday on 07/31/2017, was asked by Gri if I wanted eye exam for glasses or contacts, I then asked her if there was a difference in between the two meaning in price I will be charged, she told me NO that the only difference was me getting fit for glasses will only limit me to the glasses vs. I get fit for contacts I will be able to get glasses as well. So going off what I was informed I went to the appointment with my copay of $20 to get exam to only get back to the front to find out I was being charged $115 dollars. Had to call my son to make payment over the phone as I didnt have the money. This was so embarrassing, and now Im scared to even go back to my follow up appointment in a week to see how contacts fit and dialation of my eyes,was told that wouldnt be a charge but scared it is misinformed information as well.

Today was my second visit to TSO. The first visit was amazing, I purchased a pair of beautiful glasses from Bri she was so helpful, nice and patient. She walked me around the store as I tried on pair after pair of glasses and never rushed me. Today for my second visit with TSO I got fitted for contacts, I was so nervous, and even though the techs teach this process day in and day out they walked me through until I was completely comfortable with putting the contacts in my eyes and taking them out. Ive had nothing but wonderful experiences since Ive been there. I highly recommend it.

Everyone at this location is such a delight to work with! Also the services are great for such a decent cost. Had a mishap where I had to pay out of pocket then get reimbursed later and the cost for a full screening and contact lens fitting was only about $200. What I like most is that Dr Marsh and Dr Williamson, as well as their lovely team of opticians, are very down to earth with you. They made my transition to contact lens very easy, and didnt try to get me to use the most expensive of lenses. Ive had issues with certain optometry practices always trying to reccomend the most expensive of products (black label cleaning spray) and thats not why this TSO location is about, they really are focused on finding out what fits the patients needs the best.

I purchased two sets of progressive glasses from TSO using the same Nike frame, one used while driving as sunglasses as well and the other for home and other use. The metal frame of the latter broke within the year and it was replaced as being under warranty. Unfortunately, the metal frame of the second pair broke (at the same exact spot) a little after a year. When I visited TSO to see if I can buy another frame, I was told Nike discontinued that frame and they couldnt find another frame to fit the lenses. I was out of about $800 in a bit over a year! I was not happy and dropped TSO. Two weeks ago I went to another optometrist. Although I had given up on my sunglasses being fixed, I asked the question. Long story short, the new optometrist staff called Nike and were able to get me the same frame although in a different color. Why couldnt TSO do the same six months earlier?
