Amazing place. The atmosphere is so welcoming. Staff is great. 1st time there for a digimon tournament and the judge treated us all like we were regulars. My daughter and a I will be back. Thank yall so much.

Nice selection of comics, manga, trading cards, and boardgames. This is my absolute favorite store to attend gaming events such as card game tournaments as they adhere to a schedule which is advantageous to someone who works Monday-Friday (events are usually over by 8pm-9pm). They are engaged with the community and have ample room for people to come and play games. They have a rewards system as well that has good options for repeat customers. I see myself gladly coming here for the foreseeable future.

Excellent selection of DC and Marvel books, as well as indie stuff and manga. Friendly staff, knows their stuff. Wide variety of character art, statues and action figures. Huge supply of tabletop games and all the necessary accessories. Miniatures and paint. Gameroom for playing in-store.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Everyone runs their business a little differently and the only disappointment is the lack of back issue comics. That being said, there is a very small collection listed on the website. They are at the high end of retail. Chaz is extremely knowledgeable and personable. A very clean and organized store. Will definitely return.

I broke a bobble head of my fiancé’s 🤦🏻‍♀️I called them for help. The staff member called another on their day off to ask what I should do or if they could fix it! They called me back and told me what to do. How freaking nice?!

The pic is not from the store, but I did buy these comics at the location. They have some awesome highly prized comics for sale that are more on the rare side and those that are signed. The staff is great to talk to, they are always friendly whenever I am in, ordering is very easy, and the vibe is warming. Great deals and prizes from the store, plenty of tables to read your illustrations, play games on your laptop and more!! If you get hungry you can grab a bit to eat next door with plenty of food options and get back to what you were doing at the Adventure Begins Comic store.

Clean store and nice people, but pretty disappointing to spend an hour to drive to this location for an event thats full. Really wouldve enjoyed playing, but the location not allowing pre-registration seems like a joke in 2021. If there was pre-registration I wouldve at least known to save 2 hours of my evening.

This is an awesome place for comics and sport cards,this was my first time going and the staff was very helpful and polite.I was also able to pull an awesome Joe Burrow and a Lamar /10👍.I am eager to go back and try my luck again!

I cant believe that I havent rated The Adventure Begins yet! We visit every week for our comic book pick ups. Consider yourself lucky if The Adventure Begins is your local comic and gaming shop. They have great selections and there is always something going on. The staff is happy to help and they are knowledgeable.

An amazing selection of board games, comics and surprisingly, manga. There are also miniatures and pen and paper role playing game supplies. Plenty of tables for card games and other group play sessions. The staff was a little cold and visibly got irritated when I tried asking about a comic. I would go again, but reluctantly.Edit: Went back with my girlfriend and received the same cold and short responses to questions. I am going to look elsewhere for comics and games for sure. I would not recommend going here if you have questions for the staff, or to spend money.

Not a resident of the Montgomery/Conroe area but I visit often and now I have another reason to visit. The Adventure Begins is a freshly opened (at time of posting store) that is clean, spacious and offers a deep selection for several flavors of geek. Want a board game? Try to walk away with only 1. Collectable games? Yup! Comics? Do you even have to ask? Anime, figures, books? Oh yeah - and they are still pulling stuff out of the boxes. Brand new, high end tables to play games and a whole section dedicated to demoing games youve wanted to try.Can you tell that I liked the store? You will too!

Had exactly what I needed. The gentleman at the counter was very friendly, courteous, and helpful. Didnt mind one bit that I had my 7 year old with me, excitedly pointing everything out, and asking a million questions. He got me signed up for their rewards program, and gave me the deets on their monthly events. Looking forward to going here again.

I feel like I lost IQ points trying to buy something from these people. I was told I couldnt buy something from them until I was a loyalty member for more than 24 hours?? I was really confused on how I could be a loyalty member with them before I have ever purchased something. I thought loyalty was being a repeat customer but obviously I was wrong.

Staff is always friendly and helpful and they have a great selection of comics, board games, and miniature figures. I highly recommend checking them out.

Edit: Originally this review was about a large misunderstanding that occurred with a Digimon tournament last week. The issue has since been resolved, and Ive been made aware just how important customer service is to them. Ill definitely be giving them another try.

Whoever was working on Friday 2/26/21 around 8pm-11pm. This person was very adamant about first come first serve on the rooms you are able to occupy at the store. However, even though my friends and I wanted to occupy one of the rooms he always had some sort of excuse as to why we could not be in the room. There was NO ONE in the room and we asked if we could go in and said he is expecting the people who left to come back. Their slot had finished at 6pm then he got other people in there and said they will be done at 8:30pm. But i thought it was first come first serve. Not for those people, that by the way never came back. After thinking about it, we were customers, we made purchases at the store and supported the store, and we would be open to leaving after whoever he was holding the room for or maybe he just didn’t want us in there for whatever his reasoning was. I ask that everyone be treated fairly. IF YOU SAY FIRST COME FIRST SERVE stay by your word, do not deny people who support your business. “The adventure begins”, more like “The Adventure that never started”! Or “ The Adventure Begins When I Feel Like It”

Great experience everytime we go. Plenty of selection for everyone. One of the widest selections of D&D miniatures and books Ive seen in a brick and mortar shop.

Smells very nice, frienfly staff, comic books are always neatly organized. Very large selection including some Manga and Disney comics. Lots Warhammer 40K material. The board game along section has plenty of space.

Really needs a bigger selection of titles,or at least have a manageable order in which to browse titles. Nice shop though.

A very nice well-organized store with your variety of games, puzzles, models, anime comic books, plus gaming tables and trading tables staff is very friendly keep up the good work especially for such a specialized market.

Everyone is always friendly and knowledgeable if we have questions. They have a great selection of games, game accessories and offer tournaments and in-store play options for many of the games.

This is a great local shop with a great selection of comics and games for all ages. I especially appreciate the variety of games and comics for younger kids. It makes it a fun outing for the whole family. They also have a nice selection of comics by local artists.

The nicest comic shop I have been in. My son and I came here for football cards. They had a nice selection of hobby cards which we purchased. The guy running the counter was very friendly and helpful. We sat down and ripped a few packs. We had some excellent hits which added to our enjoyment. We look forward to our next visit!

Like most comic specialty stores today, kind of a 50/50 mix of comics and games! Its the evolution. And it works! I ❤ this joint. Just recently discovered it on accident. Today I entered on the gaming side of the store, FULL of gamers. There were like 7 different games going down?!! Warhammer, DnD( I think) and others involving dice n props. Nice busy atmosphere too. Family friendly! They also have other collectibles: Comic variants, pokemon cards, graphic novels, dice, high end collectible figurines: DC, Marvel, DB, Spawn! Heck, I think I even saw some sports cards too. Great assortment of collectibles of ALL KINDS.... PICK YOUR POISON, chances are.. they can go 1 better! STAFF.. their staff was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely adding this establishment to my rotation.

Very friendly staff. I almost didnt buy anything after initially feeling out of place, but after talking to the gentleman working (Ive forgotten his name) and another customer I ended up leaving with a new game.

I am getting started in the Warhammer Hobby, and the staff has been extremely helpful and supportive. I first came here for magic with a friend, but now I go for fun and to have some good conversations. The staff here is awesome at helping its customers and building a supportive and encouraging community. This is my new go-to store. I CANT recommend this store enough!!

The store is good but one of the store owners is plain rude. He barged into a conversation I had with a friend that had nothing to do with him and started going off on me. Honestly the staff overall are nice but he ruined it for me.

If i could give a higher rating i would! The staff is so amazing! I have an interest in a very off the wall topic, when I expressed the difficulty finding the comics and such one of the employees went out of his way to help me even if that ment calling other stores. He even remembered me and continues asking around even now and still gives me updates on if he heard anything, or if they will be getting anything new in my interests.They have really everything you could want in this kind of store. I can never recommend them enough.

This place is legit. Clean, well organized, and tons of selection from comics and games to an impressive collectibles selection. Prices were competitive. A lot of comic book stores look and feel like the owner really likes comics/gaming and the customer is an afterthought. This place feels like it was thought out with the customer in mind first. I have recently gotten into board games and as a newbie to games I have asked questions at other stores and I felt like I was burdening them and often times was looked down upon. I have been to Adventures Begins two times now and have purchased several games. Each time has been a great experience. Today was my first day off in months and all I wanted to do was demo a few games with my brother . Ali not only took the time to answer any questions we had she played two of the demo games with us. I am happy to say that I will be returning for all my gaming needs. As a fellow small business owner I value customer service, what the owner has created here is nothing short of magic.

Updated July 8, 2021This is the nicest shop for comics, card, games, and collectibles. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. The place is extremely family friendly. And they are expanding!I was hooked the first time I visited. I appreciated how much care and thought they took into everything. Comics are already bagged and boarded. Many games can be tried out before buying. Events for all ages are always being provided. And if you dont see what you are looking for, they will do what they can to find it and get it for you. I love their commitment to loyal customers.I encourage you to take time to get to know the staff by name because they will get to know you by name.Local shop, family owned, and supports the community.

Comic book stores are few and far between nowadays, but truly amazing comic book and gaming stores are a seriously rare breed. To find a place with awesome staff, incredibly good selection, prices that arent overinflated, and awesome gaming spaces is akin to finding a gold mine. I love this place. If youre looking for comics, DND supplies, board games, and even just some basic snacks, this is the place.

Wide variety of products available for all ages from comics to games of all sorts. They have had a few CCG players in there every time I have visited and have a schedule of games played on different nights. Would rate higher but I havent even played any games here YET! 4 stars just for appearance and variety of products and friendly staff!

Wife and I wandered in for the first time tonight to find about 30 kids between the ages of 10 and 18 gathered around four of the six or so large gaming tables, excitedly playing dungeons and dragons. Every other Sunday is D&D Junior Adventurers League. The store was clean and well-stocked, and the staff was all smiles - these people love what they do! We will be back in two weeks, with kids in tow!

This place is hands down the best comic shop Ive been too in all of Texas. The entire staff here is amazing and the environment of the place always exceeds my expectations. Its very clean and well lit up inside also very organized. They have an amazing selection of comics and a huge selection of games and they also have a great selection of manga, figures, and pops. They also allow in door gaming which is a huge plus. They have event going on here often and are a big part of the community here. If youre looking for comics, manga, dnd books, mini figure, or almost anything to satisfy your nerd side then I highly recommend you come here! This place is absolutely amazing 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Very large collection of tabletop gaming books and items!

Great place with varied selection. Their prices are competitive and the store is located in a convenient place. Theres two main sections of the store, one side with comics and books with gaming on the opposite side. About average space to game compared to similar hobby shops, but it is impressive they could jam so much in a modest space. A good selection of citadel paints and Warhammer AoS and 40k boxes, with other games as well. They also have a rewards program so you can recoup some value, with a website and I think weekly videos. Parking is a little hard to find.Covid: I believe they still offer curb side pick up and a mask is required right now to enter with hand sanitizer offered at the checkout station.

Went in to see what it is all about and was welcomed and shown around. Great selection of games, figures, comics etc. You can bring your family there and use their gaming tables to play board games. They have the old classics too!

The store is great. Theyve got a good selection of comics but really its the games section that makes the difference. So many stores interior is dark and cramped, with maybe three folding tables for gaming. This place has two private rooms available to rent. Three standard tables, two poker style tables, three gaming tables and three standing gaming tables. The whole area is well lit. Honestly if all the tables are being used the floor space can get cramped. But Ive yet to see this much gaming room available that doesnt feel like a complete after thought.

Attentive friendly staff, good product selection. plenty of room in the gaming area with multiple tables. Events often and games running throughout the week. This is an excellent gaming store with comics and collectables as well.

I love this place it has all the comics and they can even get there hands on all of them. They have got together and meetups for people to play board games and card hes. It pretty amazing cheshir gaming network would love to do a live stream with these guys to help them out and gain more people to come.

The lady behind the counter was absolutely delightful, their selection is completely unbeatable, and if you are into tabletop RPGs they really seem to have a wonderful Focus for it, but honestly the reason I wanted to go there was to play Magic the Gathering. There were a couple of guys in there playing but they seemed very cliquish and unapproachable. I really dont think Ill be back unless Im going to buy comic books.
