Nice place. This is my first stop for used video games and even some classic finds here. Prices are reasonable.

Overpriced. You can literally get anything in this store cheaper on eBay. Also, the expensive, rare games behind the glass case with the fake cover art need to be labeled as disc only and shouldn’t be priced like a complete copy.

Love this place, my husband and I are in once or twice a month. They have a good selection of Funko stuff, video games, vinyl, and all kinds of collectibles. The used products are always in good condition and the staff is very knowledgeable. Stop in for all your nerdy needs.

Ive been here before and its been pretty good most of the time but todays service was exemplary to put in a full review. Pretty good selection of games good number of collectibles got trading cards posters figurines role-playing stuff. Good warranty on purchase products and staff has been very friendly and helpful has been keeping it masked up. Great job guys

Let me start by saying we are a family of 4 and we all have different interests however we all have an extremely pleasant experience every single time we visit (which sometimes is weekly). We have a 17 year old and a 9 year old who are both treated with absolute respect as are all customers from what Ive witnessed. My 17 year old is extremely introverted and has befriended several of the employees which is HUGE for him to be comfortable enough to have conversations with people. They honestly care about what he saying and give genuine responses! I prefer older console games, my husband likes the figures while both boys like the newer system games and the cards so we are all over the store. The prices are great and they offer items you cant get anywhere else not to mention they offer a guarantee on everything to work properly (weve never had to use it but its great to know its there.) The employees go out of their way to help and answer any questions that any of us have including the little one. One employee even brought a system from his home for us that he no longer used!!! These guys are absolutely top notch and I very highly recommend them to everyone! This is our forever store

Ive been to several game x change stores and many of them sell gundam model kits, however very few have an associate with knowledge of the kits. The customer service here is always great and I highly reccomend going here if possible

I cant say enough how great of an experience it was shopping at Cookeville Game X Change tonight. I came in looking for the original Nintendo system and the young bald assistant manager with the forearm tattoos instantly took it up on himself to take the best care of me Ive ever experienced at a game store. He was very knowledgeable and made sure I knew of every available option, every pro and con, every tip and every instruction i needed to know about the NES. He was awesome. Bro went to the back without me asking him and came out with the best condition NES they had in stock, tested it in front of me and then wiped it down and cleaned every surface and crevice on the console to make it look incredibly brand new for an 80s console. This thing is beautiful. He even gave me the newest looking controller to go with my purchase because he wanted it to be as perfect as possible for me since i revealed to him this would be a gift for someone special. I cant thank the assistant manager at Cookeville Game X Change for the dopest experience i never expected. This guy is such an MVP.

This place has gone down hill since last year. Its great that they are trying new things, but at the cost of space and increase in overall pricing. Not as horrible as big retail chains, but it is going in that direction. I really do hope they expand, as this is the last used game store in Cookeville, and I dont want them to die by investing in candy that nobody wants.Also, (personal complaint) the staff is playing inappropriate music way too loud, and a staff member was not wearing a mask last time I went in. I will not return for a while.

I wasnt truly happy about my experience at first. However the manager who i know has been there a while contacted and reassured me that i was more then welcomed there and they appreciate me coming there from time to time. I totally know that stress can come at a moment when your not meaning for it to cause work can be stressful. And people sometimes make mistakes their not meaning to and its black Friday ao i already expected it to be busy and rough for the workers. The fact the manager wants to contact me and say she sorry about the experience and is trying to correct the issue means a lot and i understand unfortunately lot of people dont but that people are human and make mistakes but the fact the manager is being concerned and trying with my issue and makes me feel pretty good thst she cares. So ill be back.

Large Selection and occasionally has good deals

This is probably the best place in place town to buy, sell, and trade video games, trading cards, and media. If it is a video game, or related to one, they take it no matter the generation. Their selection of movies is fairly top notch and you cant beat the buy two get one deal. I will say some of the older games and consoles are priced on the high side, but that is nature of demand, my friend.

Friendly knowledgeable staff willing to help find what you need

Bought a copy of a used Xbox game and the game disc they gave me was damaged. I didnt have the receipt anymore so I decided to just buy a 2nd copy of the same game. When I opened the game there were two install discs instead of a game disc and an install disc. I went back and asked for a game disc, and one of their staff switched out one of the discs for me. When I got home, he had just given me a different install disc, so I still had no game disc. After trying to get the same game three times, Im not even bothering to go back to ask them to fix it.

This Store is AWESOME! They have something for everybody. Their products include Games, Game Consoles, DVDs both New and Old, Vinyl Records and so much more. The staff is very knowledgeable and Friendly. Stop and check them out.

The people who work here are wonderful, kind, and easy to talk with. I brought a bunch of things to trade in as to help with a hospital bill and despite the amount they never were frustrated and talked to me and my sister the entire time happily. The prices are also decent here and the selection is amazing. The workers I encountered were also very knowledgeable. If youre looking for another game store other than Gamestop this is your best bet.

Its a good store but its the only retro store in town. It would really benefit from competition. Right its kind of This is it, take it or leave it. Im more of an rpg player and there arent many on the shelves pre360, but that is probably more of a location issue. I dont think rpgs are popular here.I try to go weekly and each time i do i end up getting surprised by some new find.

If I walk into a restraunt that is or has been busy all day, they dont refuse to serve me, I still get seated and order my food. Bottom line is that was completely the worst display of customer service weve ever witnessed. Sorry you didnt feel like doing your job!

These guys are so cheap. When I went into this establishment with some movies and games to trade the exchange rate they provide is atrocious. Never go here. Better yet... Go to The Great Escape in Madison, TN. They are fair and have a better selection and MUCH better prices.

You try to to call them about their ps4 products on sale and the woman answered and being rude about it for no reason. She told me to call after 12 so I did and they on the line on phone for an hour and I can’t a hold of them. This is the worst customer service ever...

Best place to get movies and TV series on dvd

Unlike other popular retailers such as GAMESTOP that only sells new games and systems, game x change selection of games and merchandise is old school and sells loved classics. Staff is kind and easy to approach. You can even exchange your own things for a fair price.

(This is gonna be a long one. Buckle up)I walked in to trade in some items. A couple things couldn’t be accepted but it was no big deal. Upon asking for my ID, we all had a laugh that my last name was Witcher (The same as the popular Netflix series). The staff put on the song “Toss a coin to your Witcher” and tossed a coin to me, being the first one to finally make that joke. (I’ve been waiting tbh) and to add on to the laughter, once I had store credit, I picked up a copy of The Witcher 3 (The game the Netflix series was based on) we all had a laugh, laughed at some funny glitches and chatted about other games during my experience at the store. I am not a gamer but my 9 yr old daughter is- so it was nice to walk into a shop and not get brushed off or someone try and take advantage of my *non experience*. Gar was extremely helpful and didnt treat me like an idiot because Im not a gamer. He took the time to explain things to me and didnt act like it was a *bother* or that I didnt matter because Im not hard core. I will definately be going there for all my daughters gaming needs as much as possible! Thank you!

Ive been here for 45 minutes while there has been multiple people come in after me and leave within 5 minutes, and Im just waiting to sell a PlayStation 4. There is one staff member and shes taking way too long. Annoying music is blasting in my ear. Horrible

I havent had a chance to write this yet but wanted to get it out there. I came into this location a week or so ago and there was a girl and a guy working behind the counter. The girl came out on the floor I think her name was Audrey and asked how I was and if this was my first time in. I told her yes and she proceeded to tell me about the company and the deals that were going on in the store with the games and movies. She then told us if we needed any help to let her or the guy behind the counter know. We shopped around for a bit then I had a couple questions. Well the girl had either left or was in the back and so it was only the guy left working and his name was Garner and I found out a few days ago while in the store again that he is the store manager. Well this store needs a new manager!! As I went up to ask the questions he was doing something on the computer and was typing a lot well he didnt even stop what he was doing and look at me and when I asked my question he didnt even seem to be listening. And I was right he wasnt i had to repeat my question and then he lets out this huge disgusting sigh like what I asked wasnt worth him stopping what he was doing and answering and then doesnt even answer it because the phone rings and he has to answer which is understandable but the rest is not. Im sorry but you work in the customer service industry if a customer walks up to you first of all you should acknowledge them and second of all not act like Im irritating you by asking something with this huge sigh of disgust. The only thing that saved this place from me never returning was the fact that after I got the sigh of disgust that girl came back in and took over our sale and answered our questions with a smile on her face which was no where to be found on the grumpy manager. His attitude was awful even to the person on the phone. He just seemed to not care about any customer be it in person or over the phone. He is fortunate he has good employees that somewhat mask his distaste for the general population that shops in his store so as if my first visit isnt bad enough my second visit was worse. I came in and there was that same girl who greeted me again and the manager again except this time he was on the sales floor. looked like he was putting prices on stuff. So as Im shopping Im watching and listening and as he is doing these prices he is listening to or watching something on his phone. its loud enough to hear it from 2 isles over where Im standing. During this time the girl behind the counter is cleaning and helping other customers and answering the phone. She looked like she needed help but he was to busy listening to his phone to realize that it seemed or he just didnt care one or the other. I felt sorry for that girl she had every right to be upset but when I went to check out she wasnt upset. she was smiling and took great care of us and the people in front of us even tho she was struggling with no help. She was even friendly to the people on the phone even tho she had a lot going on at once. So all in all I recommend this store as far as product and the employees I encountered. But the manager is just terrible. Doesnt care about customers or his employees from what I seen.

The good highlights of this store includes a lot of pre-owned inventory. They have a ton of games spanning many consoles (Playstation, Xbox, Switch, etc) and more DVDs, Blurays, and 4K UHD than most. They also have a ton of consoles and accessories (controllers, memory cards, etc). Pricing leans a little high on most items, but not terrible.Now for the bad and ugly ... these stores are NOT where you want to trade your stuff. If you have old games lying around and collecting dust and are looking to swap them in for some trade credit to help out your wallet, look at ANY other option. Even Gamestop is a better option than these guys, so keep that in mind. I was offered about $41 for 11 very good titles on Xbox One and Switch. Stack included Black Ops 4 Steelbook limited edition, Far Cry 5, and Far Cry 5 New Dawn.This store also offers trade-ins on comic books as well. Again, pursue ANY other option. Keep your comic books close because these crooks will snatch them like a purse thief in a back alley! Terrible trade policy.
