I went in there to replace my Catalytic converter. Im super grateful I got to meet the staff there and get my car taken care of by them. They even replaced things I didnt request for no extra charge. Super friendly, very knowledgeable, super fast, and more than a fair price. My car is working better than ever. If you need your exhaust fixed think about them next time. Theyre definitely the best place Ive dealt with so far.

Had a pipe rust thru and break while traveling. Stopped in Cookeville for a few days and call Volunteer at 8:10am Monday morning to schedule a repair. They work on first come - first served basis and said he would be about an hour before he could start another vehicle. I drove over and within an hour he had my car on the lift and went thru my options. I decided to replace everything from the header back with new. He custom bent all the pipe and fit up new converter and muffler in about an hour. All custom and fully MIG welded. Did a really nice job. Even painted the welds without me having to ask. Definitely will visit again if the need arises.

After some issues with the shop the owner did make things right in the end. As long as a shop owner can recognize mistakes and make them right like he did then I will recommend them.
Had our catalytic converter stolen overnight while sleeping at the Holiday Inn after traveling all the way from Idaho and only 6 hours away from our destination. Woke up, got the kids loaded, turned on the car and found our car went from a toyota to a harley. Within 45 minutes of finding this out, this southern gentleman had us in and out while also making it affordable. Was very nice, honest, and knew his stuff.
They fixed the issue. But it shouldnt of taken a riot for it to happen.
I give it a five-star they didnt do anything that didnt need to be fixed I went to a couple other places for estimates this place saved me hundreds I highly recommend them

Just a heads up regarding the reviews for this place. A guy claiming to be a customer posted on a Facebook group about a problem he had, hoping to get people to leave a ton of 1 star reviews. So take the recent negative reviews you see with a grain of salt. Ive never been a customer of this place, and neither have these guys.
Once again these guys saved me from a poorly done exhaust job cut all the old cobbled exhaust out that another company done and did not charge near as much as the other guys if you want a true muffler shop these guys are the best
If you want first class work and service. This is the place to go. Chad does awesome work and the place is very clean. The biggest thing is the owner called me and said, Chad had told him I over paid by $50 dollars and I needed to come and get it. Wow, you dont hear that from many mechanics. The place is definitely all*******************************.

This establishment is run by Rusty & his wife. They are an awesome team who do an awesome job! They are honest & are inexpensive. I will use them 8 days a week and refer everyone I know to them! I cant say enough good things about them.
If you need work done I highly recommend these guys. The two times I have been here I have been treated fairly and the work has been great quality. I will continue to take my vehicles to them if I have a muffler or converter problem. Would give more that 5 stars if I could

My husband took his truck to a different muffler shop and they did not do a good job or like he wanted it so he took it to volunteer muffler the next morning and told them what he wanted and was told it would be no problem to fix. They got it in the same day and it looked great. The muffler was a little louder then he liked so he took it back and they fixed it for no charge. Would definitely recommended them for any work you need done.

Had read reviews and decided to give Volunteer Muffler a shot to replace most of my piping and muffler on my 1978 pickup. Rusty (owner) did a terrific job explaining where my leak was and was very friendly and pricing was definitely affordable. Highly recommend anyone needing new pipes or a muffler to go here. They back their work and will fix any issues if it arises. Just know the store is actually located behind the orange and white for sale building.
Volunteer muffler is a great place to get your car fixed. Rusty will take care of you. Took my van in to get a new muffler and I was in and out in 15 minutes service is great and the prices can’t be beat. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Just got out because I needed a new converter. They fixed it in less than an hour and I was back on the road. Very nice, friendly and knowledgeable staff. I would definitely recommend this shop to a friend and it is a great place for anyone with a low budget. They dont charge you an arm and a leg like the dealerships. I would go back if I ever needed anything done again.

Everyone here treated me and my vehicle with the utmost respect. I did previous business with MIDAS and volunteer muffler greatly surpassed their service in every way. I dropped my car off in the morning and had it back a little after noon. They were more than happy to help me with my custom work.

BAD NEWS - STAY AWAYhad my exhaust repaired. said I needed new pipe and muffler. smelled exhaust fumes on the way home at a stop light. took it to big name shop in cookeville. they fixed the bad leaking welds and moved the pipe which was almost touching the gas line. only 5 star reviews are from friends or family. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Had my converter replaced there last year, and the converter went bad, almost a year to the day. The manufacturer would not honor the warranty, so Volunteer gave me a better converter and installed it, all at no cost to me. Cant ask for better service than that.

I called this shop to fix a gasket that my daughters car needed. He got her right in and fixed the problem. Even when dealing with a young girl he was honest and fair and I would highly recommend this shop. He had to think outside the box to fix the problem and did that perfectly!

I dont have a clue where the negative reviews are coming from. Yall mustve been really stuck up and impatient. These guys dropped everything they were doing to help me out with my exhaust. Showed up and walked in to have them weld on a flange then brought the truck back for them a couple days later to tack it all up. 10/10 would recommend volunteer muffler to anyone needing exhaust work done. They are VERY fair on pricing and do EXCELLENT work. Need more homegrown people running businesses like this.
We haven’t even got our car fixed yet and already impressed with the down to earth place !! He is very great guy wiling to stay over and help y’all with insurance company and just so impressed awesome guy and I know he will do a great job with my car. Trust him so much and don’t know him. Had old muffler and tail pipe replaced but they didnt disconnect battery when welding because I didnt lose any settings: I.E. Clock, radio stations, etc. Smoked my ignition module/controller. Cost me $300 for a new MSD unit. They should of know better than to weld without removing battery cable.
This is a working mans shop, they understand that people have to work just as they . The prices are good as is there work.
I had them put my flowmeter on he did great wielding I got there around 4 2 people was ahead of me they got them and me out of there in under 1 hour I would 100% go back the owner and his wife was really great very respectful and reassuring thanks

Dont waste your time like I did going here, all they did was sit around in a circle and talk. They said they couldnt work on my car until after dinner because they were busy. Looks like they were doing absolutely nothing at all. I feel terrible even rating them a 1 star. They dont even deserve that.

I called in the morning to find out if they could do the work on my vehicle. I was told sure bring it down drove an hour and 20 minutes. I get there and they tell me they cant do it till the next day in the morning sorry for your luck.

4 guys sitting around a table doing nothingWould not weld on a tail pipe for me. 10 minute job.Claimed he was waiting for another customer.He just didnt want to do it and you could tell.As the other review said about them sitting around and wouldnt take the job.I had 3 cars done here full exhaust under the previous owner. I will never be back for a 4th.

Been going to these guys for years... had work done on my car at another shop and they forgot to put a bolt in car which caused an exhaust leak in cabin that could have been very dangerous. Rusty the guy there looked at it and put in a new one on in minutes. I was in and out in less than 10 minuTes. Thank you guys!
They told me to be there after1oclock on Friday so I got there at1:05 on Friday and I waited for 45minutes for them to get back from lunch and when they did get back they sent a worker to tell me that it would be Tuesday they couldnt even face me face to face to tell me. very disappointed
