You pay good money for a “professional” install. What we got was a below average, sub par, closet install. The installers were in such a rush to just get it done, that many mistakes were made, which they tried to just cover up. Instead of taking their time, focusing on the details, and making sure it was done right the first time, the company lead installer just tried to fix their mistakes as I pointed them out upon being told they had finished the job. Closest sections not even close to level, nicks/scratches on brand new melamine, and carelessness with the finish nailing has ruined what was suppose to be a “new”closet install. Instead I am left with closets that look like they have 3 years of wear and tear on them.Extremely disappointed from the designer to the installers. The only bright spot is Susan their office person. She was great to work!Updated 2/19/2021We appreciate Mark taking the time to come out to review the poor quality install his first two employees did. Scott and Dave were able to cosmetically fix many of the original installers oversights and mistakes. It was a big difference in quality of work, from asking if we’d prefer them to wear booties, putting down blankets to protect the flooring as they corrected issues and taking their time. If Scott and Dave had originally done the install, we would of never had the headaches, excuses, and lies the first two installers tried to pull over on us. We are happier after most of the issues were corrected, but are still finding small issues and mistakes from the original installers.

We could not be happier with our master closet and our daughters closet. Illysa created a great design for both. Our daughters closet especially was a challenge because we needed it to include her dresser and some file cabinet space for us. Mark the owner and Joe installed the closets on a short turn-around time. They were on time, courteous, and everything looks wonderful. I would recommend Closet Factory to anyone. Pictures are attached but they really dont do the work justice.

Requested an appointment using your web page on Thursday 8/4 or Friday 8/5. Received an email response from Susan Swanson on Sunday 8/8 asking me to provide open times I could meet the weeks of 8/16 and 8/23. I replied with my availability directly to Susan on 8/9. After two days of not hearing back (and holding the suggested days and times on my calendar) I emailed Susan again on 8/12 asking to get a consult scheduled. As of this review (8/16) I still have yet to hear anything. My experience has always been when you are treated this way as a prospective client, it doesnt get any better once you become a paying client. I wont be using Closet Factor South Chicago in Darien Illinois.

Closet Factory ROCKS! It was finally time to organize our garage and, after researching various options, Closet Factory was far and above the best choice. Our appointment was easy to schedule (thanks Susan!) and our designer, Carrie, spent 4 hours helping us design the space. She followed up with us that evening with final plans, including a 3D view. About a month later, our installers, Sam and Tony, arrived on time and could not have been nicer. We have a few more projects that need to be done and we will DEFINITELY be reaching out to Closet Factory!

This review is long overdo, but better late than never! Last December, my husband and I were moving into our house and desperately needed new closets & laundry room storage. We wanted to get it done quickly before we moved in. Mark came and met with me the same day I called. Susan is the receptionist and she was so kind and helpful! Mark spent many hours with me so last minute and went over designs for all the closets and the laundry room. He said because of the holidays we would be cutting it close but he was going to try and get it done for us before moving in. Well he delivered and 5 closets plus our laundry room was finished within such a short timeframe! We did have a slight issue with the installation but Mark took care of it right away. Mark was amazing and reliable. Highly recommend using Closet Factory!

The designer, Carrie, came to our home on a Saturday, SATURDAY, to help us choose the perfect closet solution for our space. We also tasked her with designing a wardrobe for the bedroom to add more storage and her input and vision was just amazing!Fast forward to the install, the installers (Mark, Tony, Sam) were super professional and nice. They were very detailed to make sure everything was secure and exactly how it was designed. I honestly thought I could cry with how gorgeous the wardrobe turned out! She knew exactly what we needed, and took a personal interest in making sure that we received what we envisioned. Look no further!We started planning our conversion of a walk through closet and office/den since February. We researched countless of contractors, carpenters, and companies throughout the Chicagoland areas. We are so happy to have chosen Closet Factory through Costco! We did not go with the lowest bid, but instead went for reputation, review, and their Costco referral. Closet Factory sent their Interior Designer, Carrie to listen to our plans and specific needs for our study. She spent countless of hours designing our project through Zoom and later through in person COVID safe meeting. She has great ideas that saved us time and money! We wanted floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall bookshelves with three desks built into the shelving. She designed it so that our kids had plenary of desk space without feeling over claustrophobic. Plus, we needed storage space for our cello and violin! Then two carpenters worked for three full days. Joe was so polite and professional. And, I truly appreciate Sam’s craftsmanship and his attention to detail! We had uneven ceilings and walls, but you would never know it. He is truly on top of his game. Finally, Mark (owner) bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and pleased with the project! He added a few extra details to our project which we benefited from. I’m telling you, save some leg work and time. I will be calling Mark and Closet Factory soon for our mudroom makeover.

A wonderful experience from start to finish! The in home consultation with Valerie really helped me prioritize my storage needs and visualize the end result. The process was explained perfectly and everything happened exactly as it was supposed to. The installers were fabulous - Punctual, efficient, friendly and careful with everything! Carrie was amazing! We emailed multiple closet companies on a Friday she called immediately! The others well...were still getting calls😂I told her I needed everything installed within 2 weeks and she got it done! No screw ups no hassles. They had a belt rack that came in damaged and the immediately had another overnighted and installed within days. I will definitely use closet factory again. The price was reasonable and the owner of the company came by to do a second check measurement as my media closet was a bit of a tight squeeze. Thank you Carrie for your extreme care for details!

We had a great experience with Closet Factory. In the home we recently bought, we had an existing built-in space that was worn from years of use and built with cheap materials probably by a do-it-yourselfer. Given the trouble we experienced in finding a contractor that would fix the unit, we decided to gut the unit build it new. Additionally, we inquired about a wall unit entertainment center. I never would have thought of contacting a closet company for a wall unit TV built in, but they had a photo in a home magazine ad of an entertainment center so we gave it a shot! The ad also included a discount on work so keep an eye out for their ads or promotions.Robyn from Closet Factory (Chicago South) came to our home twice to look at the space, measure, and offer suggestions. She suggested ideas that could save us money if we needed to keep costs lower. We needed a custom fit for the existing built-in space. The end result is fantastic! We have a charging station with storage drawers, cabinets, and decorative shelves. Our entertainment center on the blank wall is also custom to fit several personal preferences and requirements including an intake air vent the unit was built around.In the past, weve used Ikea bookcases and units and those obviously work in a lot of spaces, but this space in particular is on the smaller side and the built-ins give us so much flexibility and look great.Additionally, the crew who measured and did the building were on time, professional, and did a great job. They adjusted issues on the spot to fit crooked walls or oddities with the space.With a new (but old) house and selling our last place, weve had to hire a number of companies for different jobs. Weve experienced several no-shows, no call backs, offers that werent really discounts from lawn service, contractors, and painters. The experience with Closet Factory was professional and timely at each step from the initial call through the crew building the units. Though the whole process took months, Robyn kept us updated with timelines.

Not sure which Im happier with - the service or the product. Let me explain my experience. The short version is that my wife, myself, and our two kids (1 & 3) had been living with my parents for almost 8 months because our old home sold more quickly than expected. We were near the end of a renovation project on our new home where we touched every room. It was early December, and the race was on to try and move in so the kids could wake up in their new home on Christmas morning. The closet person our contractor brought in told us 6 weeks on the closets - minimum, for a wall mounted floating system in our master closet and pantry. I was certain we would be living out of boxes for at least a month, and more importantly didnt know how we would manage the kitchen without any storage in the pantry. I caught the ad for Closet Factory in Naperville magazine. I called and simply asked the receptionist about timing. She explained they would likely be an after Christmas install. I explained our situation and thanked her for her time, and she wished me happy holidays. A short while later I received a call from Mark. He spent some time getting to understand what we wanted in closet design, and suggested we talk with his design consultant, Val, while he explored the possibility of getting the pantry in by Christmas. Val was on vacation, but spent a couple of straight hours on the phone with my wife ironing out design plans. At the end of the day, Mark and Val were able to get us a floor based closet system, designed to our specs, and a floor based pantry system with a counter for about the same price as my contractor could build a floating, wall mounted system. The best part of all, and the part Im most thankful for, is that Mark absolutely exhausted himself to get it all done before Christmas so that we could move into a finished home. I cannot say enough good things about my experience from my initial call all the way to completion. Its beyond refreshing in this day and age to have a service experience wildly exceed expectations, and Mark and his team did that. And, the quality of the work and the product are outstanding. Thanks Mark and Val for everything.
