Ordered control panel for my Maytag refrigerator for me to install myself. They called as soon as it arrived and I was able to pick it up 3 days later at the Dearborn facility. Fantastic customer service. Appreciated the call back from the parts department when I couldnt get through the first time I called.

Mark my technician came to my house and diagnosed the issues with my dishwasher. He explained what was needed to repair the appliance and the cost. After a very short discussion on the cost, Mark and I agreed the best course of action was to purchase a new dishwasher. The repairs were going to be around $400. A new Amana dishwasher costs about $479. It wasn’t to difficult to decide to purchase a new one. Thanks Mark for spending the time explaining everything.

My 1985 Whirlpool dryer started banging around, sounding like something was loose. Upon calling Kenwhirl, the person I spoke with on the phone was helpful and knowledgeable. Knowing this was a 35+ year old dryer, she put me in touch with the parts department, to ensure possible parts were in stock.... and they were! We scheduled a service appointment about a week and a half later to take place in a two-hour window. I was also provided with an approximate quote, which was helpful. On the day of the service, I was provided with a phone call to confirm the window of time, within which the the service tech arrived. The professional tech was friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. On top of fixing the issue, he provided me with some helpful advice. The overall cost for parts and service was fair and the parts came with a one year warranty.Never in the process did I feel uneasy or like I was being taken advantage of. I highly recommend Kenwhirl.

Jeff and Mark are the service techs who came to our home on separate occasions to work on our dishwasher. Both were knowledgeable, courteous, and very professional. Called Kenwhirl Appliance in Dearborn Heights, MI to diagnose problem and repair LG Refrigerator. Had positive experience with office staff and technician who came repair. It is another thing that compressor should not fail in six years (LG). But Kenwhirl appliances is good for any appliance repair.

Keep those older appliances functional with Kenwhirls part supply. Newer appliances contain newer digital circuitry boards which may make them more costly to repair.
We had warranty work done on our LG slide in range. The technician was fantastic and totally tested all functions of both ovens before leaving. As an added bonus, he told me how to clean buildup on the gas burners on the cooktop without damage to the metal finish. Pure professional!

Although we were disappointed to learn that our 5 1/2 year old LG refrigerators compressor stopped working, Kenwhirl was able to send out a technician promptly. Mike was very professional, polite, knowledgable and efficient in diagnosing and repairing our appliance. Fortunately, we have a 2nd refrigerator which was needed in the week between getting the part and completing the repair.
My experience with Kenwhirl appliance was excellent. I was searching for a heating element for one of my clients SubZero refrigerators in South Florida(I own a local repair company down here). SubZero discontinued this part and our distributor said there was none in the country. I reached out to Tim with Kenwhirl who had one in stock but it had recently sold. He was able to locate the LAST one in the country out of a distributor in Chicago. We were able to overnight this and get our customers unit up and running. I really appreciate Tim, Ray and the entire Kenwhirl team for going above and beyond to help their customers!

This place is a joke. i have been fighting them on repairs for two weeks. customer service reps LIE AND TALK TO YOU LIKE YOUR STUPID. between them and abc warehouse keep passing the buck and making the customer who BOUGHT the extended warranty do all the leg work to get it fixed. asked for early appt they schedule you for a late time some they dont have to fix it THAT day and keep putting it off here is a pic AFTER the repair on my freezer

Pretty bad experience fopr me $125 service call plus parts and labor. I would recommend that you try Advance Appliance $85 service call plus that goes towards the cost of the repair. If people shop around I think they would find more value that Kenwhirl

They were able to make it out to my house to look at my washer in less than 24 hours and fixed it on the spot (clogged drain). Technician was very friendly and efficient. Also had them come once before to service our stove which was still under warranty. Highly recommended.

Absolutely horrible service. I live in Jackson and this just happens to be the sub-contractor that Consumers uses for their service plan. Weve been having issues with our stove and refrigerator. The same tech has made multiple visits to our house and the problems are still not fixed. We were finally able to get a Consumers tech out today and he discovered that the Kenwhirl tech had installed the wrong switch for the type of burner on our stove. The same Kenwhirl tech came out to service our refrigerator twice. On his last trip he told us the temp control was set wrong. We told him that is where the previous tech told us to keep it. He tells us that the previous tech didnt know what he was talking about. After he left my wife pulled the last service invoice and guess what? HE was the tech that set the thermostat last time. Stay as far away from these people as you can!
I have been going here for years. And have had them to my home on a few occasions. The technicians are well trained and deliver great customer service. I have worked on a few of my own appliances and the guys at the parts counter have always been a saving grace helping me diagnose issues. They also have good pricing. I highly recommend them and send all my friends and family to them for any appliance repair.
Horrible...from customer service to repair work. They came out to repair my fridge. Their workmanship lasted 2 weeks....UPDATE...apparently they installed a non LG compressor ( OEM) in my fridge for warranty work, and ..a solder connection failed...Shame on you Kenwhirl.
A technician (Mark)came to my home and diagnosed the issue. He left his card, along with the part number he told us to order. I ordered the part and called the number he left on the card for weeks and left messages. Finally, I decided to call the office and they refused to send a tech out because we purchased the part.The office manager (Justin)stated it was against company policy for the customer to order the part. He called his supervisor at our request, but admitted that he DID NOT tell the supervisor that we were advised to order the part. He stated he made the decision at his discretion to withhold that info because he is the office manager He refused to have the supervisor contact us and would not provide us info to contact him. I also recorded the entire conversation, and Justin was advised of that, but did not care at all.This is the 2nd time a tech has come to my home, I paid a $80 service fee the first time, then $90 the second time and each tech that came had US to purchase the part.I have filed a complaint with Whirlpool because now i am out of money for the part I was advised to purchase and I still have no dishwasher.THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THIS COMPANY IS HORRIBLE AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO WORK ON BEHALF OF A NATIONAL COMPANY!
Jeff was a wonderful technician. He diagnosed the problem quickly but couldnt do the repair until the refrigerator power was turned off and the refrigerator thawed out. Jeff came back two days later and remembered to schedule our appointment for the morning as we had a 1:00 p.m. appointment elsewhere that day. On top of that, Jeff washed the wood floor under the refrigerator once he had done the repair without being asked Thanks Jeff!!

They were super! I didnt have an appointment and was put on their waitlist by my appliance protection plan. They called me right after they opened, added me to their list and were at my house by 12:15pm. Within 15 minutes our tech, Lance diagnosed and repaired the problem. He was courteous and effective!! Definitely the best experience I have had using my protection plan. The best part is they saved Thanksgiving dinner!
As a widow, any small problem becomes a large one. When my refrigerator light went out, I called & your serviceman called me twice to let me know that he was on his way & he was efficient & & I found out I needed two lights! He also left me the burned out lights so that I would know which ones I would need in the future.
The tech was very knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant. He was also on time. Unfortunately he was not able to do the repair since both the part and the appliance is no longer available, which, of course, is not his fault.
GE sent this company out to repair our dishwasher under warranty. The latch had broken and they came out and replaced the latch and the motherboard for some reason. The dishwasher was reinstalled crooked. I had to reposition it after they left. It stopped washing after the repair, though it would go through a complete cycle without popping open. GE sent them back out and it was determined to need a new motor. Waited two weeks because they ordered the wrong motor and when they finally came back they refused to pull out the unit to service it claiming it may ruin the floor. Notice that they had already pulled it out at least once (and reinstalled it crooked). Also didnt bother to call to cancel one of the service calls and my wife basically wasted the entire day waiting around for them. Three months later and the dishwasher still doesnt work, had GE send out another contractor. Possibly the most unprofessional service we have ever had.
10 days ago we bought a fridge from these guys. After my elderly Mother and Stepfather got it loaded in the truck and got it home safe and sound. The real challenge came. Removing doors, plotting a path and figuring out how and elderly couple and a crippled coal miner were going to move the thing. It didn’t at all dampen our excitement after going nearly seven months of not having a refrigerator. We had a Samsung side by side that looked to be in decent repair. It took us several hours but we got it in. After several more hours we even got it set up and making ice! Everything is going great until this morning. I reached in my fridge to get milk for my son’s breakfast and it is noticeably warm to the touch. The freezer still works, however I now have to throw away all of the food that was in the fridge. After several more hours of troubleshooting we give up and try to call the store for help. As it turns out the only way they will look at my fridge is if I bring the thing in. This is now the plan. We will bring it back in. We will get our money back. We will take it elsewhere. We will also inform anyone we can of our experience.

Terrible and unprofessional. An appliance was broke in my house. The first time Dawson came he looked for 5 minutes and then said it was the pump we needed and he had to order it. It took over 2 weeks. Then we got a phone call saying it was on back order and we had to wait. He comes back a month later with the pump and then he says he needs a tool (which he doesnt have with him) so he still cannot fix it. He left the house without putting the machine standing up right, which is dangerous and could hurt someone. I guess he was in a rush and could care less about safety. So now its gonna to be almost 2 months without this appliance working. Please please please get another company. You have been warned.

I paid for a warranty on a dryer. A week after a service call KenWhirl sent the tech Mark to repair my dryer that wasn’t heating. The first day he showed up and left in 30 seconds said he was going to order 3 parts to make sure he had the right part. Needless to say the second time a week later he showed up he stated the ordered the wrong part. After a month of back and forth and of no dryer he came to repair it and said that something is wrong with the electric socket but the dryer was fixed and we shouldn’t use it. I plugged the dryer in and yep it still didn’t heat. I then called a second company who came out the next day and repaired it in 5 minutes. Yes it costed me almost $200 but I have a dryer. I WILL NEVER Shop or BUY A WARRANTY FROM ABC OR USE KENWHIRL AGAIN! Horrible tech who didn’t help at all!

I have written less than 4 reviews (for anyone - even restaurants) in my lifetime, but this is completely appropriate. I have never had such terrible customer service anywhere (this far beats my worst restaurant experience). I called 1 week ago to get an estimate for what the service charge would be to come and service my washing machine. The rep on the phone informed me it was ~$50 for a service call, therefore I scheduled the appointment. The day of my appointment the technician calls me and warns me of the service charge before he gets there, which I thought was nice. He directly communicated to me the service call was $80 and I questioned him because of the previous information I received from the head office (i.e. ~$50). I then call the head office and ask what the situation is and the lady said it is not $80 it is $100! At this point I am extremely frustrated because the cost has changed not once, but twice. I continued to question and they put me on hold and stayed firm with $100 and would not honor let alone the $50, but the $80 the technician told me 5 minutes earlier. The conversation continued and I received a call on the other line and the line got disconnected (they thought I hung up on them even though I was mid-sentence talking...). I called back after my other call got done (all I tried to do was answer and tell the person I would call right back, but it hung up so I switched back over to the line I just answered) and they said the ticket is now closed. The manager got on the line and said we wont service you (even though they told me multiple price levels). This was one of the worst experiences I have had. Please do not use Kenwhirl for any appliance repair (also my neighbor used them and she mentioned the technician doing the work had no clue what he was doing and she got in multiple arguments with their customer service reps for similar things as I explain above). I wish this type of service upon no one.
I would NOT recommend this company. Shelled out $765 dollars for them to repair my Whirlpool refrigerator. After 3 attempts, they advised that they could no longer service my refrigerator anymore and refused to come back; therefore, refrigerator is still broke and Im out $765. Cant fix my fridge? Okay, but they could have at least refunded my money. I since have had a new company out and they are working directly with Whirlpool to resolve my issue. If you have issues with an appliance, Id recommend someone other than KenWhirl Appliance.
I have been doing business with Kenwhirl Appliance since 1978 when we bought our first home. They have given us great service. They have offered advice on fixing our appliances ourselves and well as coming to my house and my mother’s to do in home repairs. They are honest and courteous and are upfront when appliances are not worth repairing. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone needing appliance repairs.

Frigidaire sent Kenwhirl to make a warranty repair on a 7 month old dishwasher. Asked for an after two appointment. When the tech called the day of the appointment to provide a smaller window he said he would be out between 12-2. Not the appointment time requested. We asked for a 30 minute phone call because of the appointment of being before two. Technician arrived at 1:30, we received a call on his arrival, not 30 minutes prior and were told because no one was home the tech would have to move on. Rescheduled an after 2 appointment again, day of the appointment the tech called and said he would be there between 12:30 and 2:30. Again not an after two appointment, requested a thirty minute phone call. We did receive a phone call, tech was a little late, but nothing to write home about. The service while he was here though is. He spent about ten minutes in my home. He didnt even pull the dishwasher out from under the counter, he said he would damage the floor if he did and that there was no way the dishwasher would come out. If it went in, it should come out. Tech ordered a pump and said he would be back to blow out the lines and install the pump, he also instructed us to pull out the dishwasher. Tech called the day of the appointment and said he would be here between 12-1:30, even though an after 2 appointment was requested. I had taken the day off work knowing this would happen. Tech showed up at 2 anyway... We had pulled the unit out for him to access the mechanics. Tech asked for a towel. If a towel was required he should have brought one. Any how, when he found the pump he had to call to ask how to replace the pump. Had he bothered to diagnose the dishwasher to begin with he may have had an idea of how to replace it. Cant learn anything about the mechanics of the dishwasher in ten minutes of staring at the front of a dishwasher. After the pump was replaced he informed us he didnt have the equipment to blow out the lines, wanted to come back the next day to blow out the lines. Remember, his initial plan of action was to replace the pump and blow out the lines and he showed up without the equipment to do what he said. I insisted the job needed to be completed today that 4 visits on 4 different days for one problem would be too much. Tech left and returned with proper equipment. He is currently blowing out the lines. Hopefully this will not be come a 2 part review.

I cant say enough about the service at Kenwhirl. When my refrigerator stopped working after only 3 years Kenwhirl was assigned the repair work per my Lowes warranty contract. The service and attention that I received from Kenwhirl on getting my appliance in working order was phenomenal. The compressor and evaporator were shot and the service technician was out here to diagnose and repair it immediately. The parts were ordered and the repairs were completed very timely. Everyone was very helpful from the entire staff (office and repair) in keeping me appraised of next steps and time frames. Thank you Kenwhirl for the great service and thank you Lowes for recognizing that great service keeps a customer.

I would not use this place if the last on earth! I would rather deal with some jack of all trades before this place!Been trying to repair ice dispenser for past month without results other than creating new problems. Now ice won’t dispense at all (workmanship). When I informed them, one would think (especially after timeline “a month “) that they would expedite appointment...nope! The usual Wednesday or Thursday, next week appointments they deal out. Go to the back of the line (again) and hope it’s going to be done correctly this up coming appointment.My advice if you receive this place for warranty work... “RUN”, don’t walk to someplace else!!
Such a great experience having a Kenwhirl to our home to repair our washer. The technician took his time to properly diagnose the problems and promptly fix them without having to make a second visit! We will be having them come again when we need service again!
This place absolutely sucks. First off, the repairman attempted to diagnose my refrigerator over the phone. Second, it took 2 1/2 weeks before he came back out to fix it. 3rd, once he comes back he realizes he didnt tell me to unplugged the fridge because I only had use of my freezer. So he says it has to be thawed out and of course he wont be able to come back for another 2 days. Then after all of that, he puts the part on and leaves without even plugging it up and checking if it works. And did it work??? NO!! Very unprofessional. Short bald dude was repairman. Seemed like an ok guy. Just an ass repairman.
I read the most recent post and this sounds nothing like the experiences I have had with Kenwhirl. I have been relying on them for parts for over 35 years. I recently had need of service and the person on the phone was very helpful, and actually called me back when she realized that she had an additional opening for an appointment. I was quoted $80 right off the bat for the service call. The technician called ahead to give a time that he would arrive. Unfortunately, my washer would cost more to repair than to replace. Previous to this I have only gone to them for parts and advice and always the service has been incredible.

Technician Tony J came to my house in mid October to repair the dryer. Prior to him coming out, it was believed that the igniter was bad, which we replaced. Immediately after he arrived, he dropped an item and broke the new igniter, which he replaced with a cheaper part than the original. No work was done by Tony J as the dryer was receiving heat at the time, though he did indicate to call him back immediately if I was still having problems since he thought a new gas valve was likely needed. He was right and I called back to schedule the follow-up appointment, at which point I was assured that the part was ordered.After multiple reschedules due to a family emergency, a follow-up appointment was finally set for today. The technician showed up at my house just to say that: 1) the part was never ordered; 2) when the part did come in, I would owe an additional $249.00 on top of what I had paid for the first visit (where again, while I understand you need to charge a service fee, he did no work whatsoever other than replace the brand new igniter that he broke); and 3) they could not give any sort of time frame for when the new gas valve would actually arrive. Further, when speaking with the front desk about this issue, the staff laughed constantly and seemed to think it was hilarious that her technician forgot to order the part and that Im still stuck with a broken dryer for the foreseeable future with no end in sight. I would not recommend this company to anyone I know and will be searching for another provider.

I had an appointment between the hours of 12-3 and was supposed to receive a call well neither happened. I had to call the company and all of a sudden the tech shows up when I am not home after my appointment window. The tech named Lance called my wife and was not friendly towards her. I returned the call to him and the company and all I get is I will pass this along to my manager from the office personnel. Horrible way to conduct business and horrible way to speak to women. I will make sure that Consumers knows all of this so they can take appropriate measures for contractors.
