Not a very good experience. In 24 years of seeing an eye doctor, Ive never had this much hassle. First, I had to come in multiple times and was charged for extra doctors visits for something Dr. Scott wanted to do, so insurance didnt cover it. Second, my prescription was wrong which Ive never had happen in 24 years of wearing glasses. The new prescription was always blurry. I had to go for another exam and claimed the prescription was fine, modified prism a bit and said thats all they could do. At least it was no cost to remake them. But they were still blurry! Insurance told me to get a second opinion which I had to pay out of pocket for and revealed a completely different prescription.Thankfully they refunded my glasses, but it took 3 months from initial exam to this point.The people were great, but I wont be going back.

This is an awesome eye care clinic. I have been going here for 30 years. The doctor is very thorough and caring. Any concerns you have, he will examine you to give you answers for whatever he finds. I recommend this clinic for your eyes.

Our family has been going to dr. Scott since the beginning. I believe I was between 6 and 8. im now 48. my daughter who is now 18 has been going to Dr scott since she was 4.he is the best. the first dr to get her as close to 20/20 as possible. thank you for all you have done for us. also my 19 years old and just saw the new guy. he is also awesome. very knowledable and kind. now if only we can get their insurance to cover their glasses at dr scotts, but we still will not go anywhere else for a quality exam.always ahead of technology. we love you.

My recent appointment involved a complete eye exam for a new glasses prescription following two cornea transplants this past year. As always, Dr Scott was thorough in testing and checking my eyes. I have always appreciated Dr Scott’s way of sharing the information with me that he finds in my eye exams. His manner is gentle, his information direct and “translated” so I can easily understand his findings. 👏🏻👏🏻He is professional and very patient-focused in his time spent with me during my eye exams- and I have entrusted my eyesight to his care for more than 40 years now! His manner is respectful and gently intense- meaning he gives no sense of being in a rush, (yet manages his time extremely well!); Dr Scott comes across as genuinely caring that I benefit with clear understanding of his findings during my appointment. He is thorough in his explanations and I find it very easy to ask him any questions or voice concerns I might have. He is excellent in explaining the exam findings into patient friendly terms that paint a very understandable picture. I would highly recommend him! Though I did not yet get my new glasses prescription at this appointment, I am grateful Dr Scott recommended a recheck with my surgeon to perform a simple procedure that will clear up the fog in my current vision. THEN I will be happily ready for my new prescription and better vision- a definite win-win! Btw, I found some really FUN glasses frames while I was there and they are graciously holding them for me until my new prescription. 😁

I needed to get in right away and they got me in right away. Dr Scotts office was very efficient the day I went in and I was out really quick and he diagnose my problem. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Was experiencing issues with my vision, Dr Scott is was the on all Dr for my regular provider. They were able to get me to check my condition out immediately. All of the staff was very caring and friendly!

Going to the eye doctor is not my favorite thing to do. It ranks right up there with the dentist and ob, but this office is wonderful. Dr. Scott is so down to earth and he listens to the concerns I have with my eyes. Today he brought to light a HUGE issue I was having with the computer and my eyesight. His solution was great and I am so excited to get the appropriate glasses to support my eye health and neck issues. The ladies in the eye glass area were so nice and extremely helpful too. It is such a pleasure stepping into a great office with very supportive energies for my needs and the health of my eyes. Thank you Family EyeHealth Center.

This was, by far, the best and most thorough eye exam I have ever had and by the most professional, caring and dedicated staff I have met. From the moment I was greeted until the time I paid — happily — for my visit and new glasses, I was treated as an intelligent adult as things were explained to me — the whats, whys and hows — and everyone cared about my eye health. The doctor even gave me his cell phone number if I had any follow-up questions. Who does that any more? It was just a great visit and I have confidence that my eye health is in the best hands possible. It was just a great experience and I highly recommend Dr. Scott and his staff.

They are really great. Dr Scott has been my eye doctor for many years. Everyone is very friendly.

Overall experience was fine, just have to return next day to dilate eyes for cataract testing, because I rode my motorcycle to the first exam and not my car. Dr. Scott though my impaired eyesight would endanger me riding my motorcycle.

I had a terrible accident and the doctor at urgent care sent me over on a saturday. The doctor came in even though the clinic was closed. I am not a regular patient so I was extra grateful for him taking time out of his day. If it wasnt for him I might not have my sight in that eye!

Ive gone to this office for awhile now and everytime I come in they remember me by name! They always are great at making you feel welcomed and give you exceptional service. While I there I was having a hard time finding the frames I wanted because I still loved my old ones. The person helping me went through a ton of frames for me to try on and never got frustrated with how many I was trying on even though she knew she’d have to clean every pair for safety precautions during covid. I decided to just stick with my old frames, I thought. I Kept going back and forth between a couple pairs. She helped make my decision by explaining my options and answering the many questions I had about coverage, cost, and insurance. Instead of going with my old frames that we found out was currently out of warranty, I got new frames to put my new prescription into and ended up spending less money then what I would have for my old frames with new lenses. My new frames come with a warranty as well. She really made sure to take her time with me and made sure I walked out happy. I really appreciated the effort she put in while I was at the office!

Been a customer for over 10 years. Thought I ordered two sets of lenses after my last eye exam, at least that is what we discussed. Difficult to read documents when dilated. Paid $350, that is about $175 each lens. I asked the office manager to call me to discuss, two days so far no return call. I now have two sets of reading glasses with different scripts. I do not believe that this is the way doc wants his business run, the issue is in the staff. I am not going back.Update: Two weeks later the office manager called. After much research into this issue, her solution was that I purchase two more lenses for my second set of glasses. Why would I have to do that when I have already paid for two sets of lenses? Classic hook and screw in my opinion.Update: Now I get a message on this review that the office would like to have me call them to resolve this. Not going to happen, they have my number, if they want this resolved they need to provide me with my second set of lenses that I have already paid for. That is the only way this is going to get resolved.Update: No further contact from this business. We had been purchasing an eye supplement from them. I recently found that this is available on Amazon at a cheaper rate. I made them print out my script so I can get my second set of lenses with the same script created elsewhere. Obviously they do not care, they have my money.

Good vision is so important, I trust Dr Scott and his staff implicitly to provide care for myself and my family. Dr Scott has even provided emergency after hour care, during a snowstorm, for my brother who wasnt a patient, due to an injury caused by one of our pets. The office functions like a well run machine with many moving parts; theyre able to coordinate testing with an examination in addition to getting setup with new glasses and/or contacts, as needed, all in one visit. Theyre very thorough and keep excellent records of your visits; phone calls are always answered promptly and responses to inquires are followed through in a very timely manner. Amazing doctor and staff! 🤗

The doctor is good but the experience would be better if the employees wore their masks in the middle of a pandemic.

Going to the eye doctor is always a little nerve-wracking for me because I feel like I have to take a test I didnt study for. But Dr. Scott and his staff are always friendly and professional. I appreciate that they take the time to answer my questions and ensure I have what I need for my contacts. This most recent visit, I asked them not to dilate me because I had to perform at an event immediately after my appointment. They listened to me and because the doctor had no concerns, he said he wouldnt ask me to make another appointment for a dilation. Ive been coming here for as long as I can remember and I plan on doing so for as long as I can.

Wow. Dr. Scott is extremely proficient at his work. He takes care to thoroughly assess the problem and sort through multiple diagnoses. My husband had an eye injury and we were fortunate enough to get a same day appointment. Dr. Scott ran through all of the tests and created a follow-up plan. I have heard great things about him and I am so glad we came to this clinic for my husbands eye injury.

I had things stuck in my eye for almost 24 hours. My doctor made me an appointment with Dr. Scott. He got me an appointment in less than an hour from the time the call was made. Showed up early and he got me in early. It took him only a few seconds to remove it from my eye. I have anxiety and he managed to do all this without me fully panicking. I could open my eye afterwards and keep it open. Best doctor ever. I strongly recommend him.

Dr. Scott has a wonderful office, a helpful staff, and a great selection of glasses to choose from! Im the third generation in my family to have him as a doctor and I continue to go to him even though I have many optometrists and vision centers that are closer to Ames, where I currently live. I had problems with my eyes in high school and he wasnt afraid to send me to a specialist when things werent improving as fast as he wanted. I have also always had great help from the staff when picking out new frames (I never know what looks good and there are SO many frames to choose from) and thanks to them I always love the frames I pick out! Highly recommend.

Love Dr. Scott. I went to this office while growing up until I moved after college. In my time away I tried 3 different eye dr offices, and when I moved back to Iowa about a year ago I chose to come back to Dr. Scotts. Ive never had better service elsewhere. I also love the selection of frames offered (not just 6 frames in a bunch of colors, actual choices!). The attention to detail on the fit of your glasses when they arrive and yearly with your checkup to see if adjustments are needed is awesome.

Every single member of the staff I dealt with was friendly and did a great job addressing my concerns, including Dr. Scott. Thankfully, I seem to be OK for the moment, but this will be the first place I go for any future needs.

Dr Scott is WONDERFUL!! He has been my eye doc longer than I can even remember! If not for his level of care and concern and thoroughness I may very well have lost the sight in my right eye. Some say he is expensive but I will say this, how much is your eye health and eye sight worth to you? HE IS WORTH EVERY CENT HE CHARGES!
