Schimka Auto Wreckers has been providing towing and wrecker service to my family and business for well over 50 years. Their professionalism has been outstanding in every instance. A local, family owned business you can count on when your back is against the wall.

I found them online when I needed an emergency tow just two blocks. They are close to where I was and their site states theyre open 24 hours.This was NOT the case. It was only aprx. 10:00 pm and the guy said he was closing and going home!

My experience with them was overall very good. I just needed a simple tow from my residence parking lot to my mechanics shop, and it couldnt have gone any smoother. The tow Tech Irving was polite, professional, and got my car loaded up without issue in less than 10 minutes. Time from initial call to arrival was about 35 minutes, which made it very convenient. If I need another tow in the Des Plaines area, I would definitely give them a call.

Called these fellas up and they gave me an estimate over the phone with a breakdown of the fees. Showed up in 20 minutes as promised. The tow driver was polite and personable. He got the car up on the truck in record time making sure to take extra care not to mess up the bumper on my lowered car.Delivered the car professionally and courteously to my driveway as arranged. No muss, no fuss.Great personable staff who are happy to work hard. Highly recommend.

I was driving home at night in the snow and my car went over a curb. My front wheel broke and I was half an hour away from home. My mom called schimkas and Irving came to tow my vehicle, he was fast and arrived in a timely manner, he was even kind enough to take me home. Thank you guys so much for your your help.

Company rip off charge to much for towing my car broke half block from mechanic shop they charged 140 dollars I would not recommend this place to noone no tow worth that pay

Very bad attitude. The towing company guy was very rude and didnt even get out of the tow truck to assist me. I had to walk over & ask him was he here to tow my vehicle. After exchanging my info he replied he doubt he would be servicing my vehicle to my destination. But he would check with his dispatch. Momentarily he came over & said no he was not driving my vehicle & left.

No nonsense good ole tow company.

Very professional and helpful, Terry was very patient with questions I had about my Hyundai Elantra and when my tie rod broke and my roadside assistance let me down 3 times, they came promptly with the correct equipment to move my car and at a reasonable cost which my insurance reimbursed. Thank you!

Bad service, they serve you in a bad way and angry, they charge you and they dont even do the job as it is.

Just leaving this place as Im writing this review.I dont know why everyone keeps saying theyre rude. They were pretty laid back and helped with my questions and even gave me options to help me find what I needed from other places.Give them a shot. Pretty cool guys

If i could rate it no stars, i would. This place is garbage. Dont ask for their towing, its way overpriced. Dont bring wrecked or disabled cars here either, theyll lowball you for the title. Service is poor and the people working here appeared to be angry at the customers.

Called to see if they worked in the city at all, very very rude, acted like I should have known they didnt then hung up on me as soon as he said no.

They dont even deserve a star, I called and told them I was on my way to get my moms belongings and the guys who answered the phone told me to just bring the release papers which I did and than when I get there the dummy tells me that in order to get my properties I have to have full cover insurance or to pay to get the car out, I told him I live in Chicago and had to get a ride out there and that if he wouldve told me that over the phone I would not have come all the way out here and his response was and I quote I might have misunderstood you my nephew owns a towing company and he said that is BS, because I was not taking the car out, personally I think he was just being racist because Im Latino.

Owner is ok. But service?...No thanks!
