They were very welcoming and gave me complimentary wine, even though I was just with a friend who was getting a product! Also they have all vegan+cruelty free products!!

So... After searching around the many of Targets and Walmarts to be thoroughly disappointed in trying to find the allusive Lip Bar for my girlfriend, I decided to step up my game and go on an adventure to the source and I must say, the establishment was stunning! Though I am not the clientele, the atmosphere was rich and inviting. The service was fantastic and though I cant review the product, my girlfriend was overjoyed.If you are looking for the Lip Bar, my recommendation is just to visit the store. It is well worth the trip!

Love the range of shades. Find your shade and then all other corresponding products are also recommend. Takes the guess work out.

The Lip Bar has friendly and knowledgeable staff to help you with your purchase. I have bought quite a few lipsticks from here and havent found any other lipstick to match the quality - these products are worth every penny. Highly recommend!

Cute place located in a lively alley in the city of Detroit. The flagship store is unique and offers a nice range of colors. I appreciate how the company has added new product lines to their brand- including lip liners and blush. Will definitely purchase more! Worth the visit to the store.

The store is so cute and the ladies who work there are so nice. Theyre very patient and they helped me find the right shade and gave me good product recommendations. The makeup has quality ingredients and performs well. The price is pretty reasonable for the level of quality. Its my favorite brand of makeup to use. Even better than the high end stuff like Chanel.

Just went to try the store out downtown. Stood in line 45 minutes, all to be told we are closed as soon as 7pm hit. There are only 3 people allowed in the store per Covid 19. However, instead of allowing whomever was standing in line to still purchase they were more focused on getting home. I won’t ever be back, very poor customer service. There was no apology or anything for waiting so long. Worker literally came outside and said we are closed, and locked the door on the people who stood there waiting patiently. Hire adequate help is the best advice I could give.

Ive been a Day One fan of The Lip Bar. Was so sad when the pop-up in Indian Village closed. But then this lovely little place came along and its even better. Love the modern look and feel, especially the swings. The customer service is always great and I dont even need to mention how great the products are but I will...theyre amazing! So glad theyve expanded beyond just lip wear.

Im from Detroit so it was very important to support a local business, started by a woman of color. I also like the corporate consciousness, re: vegan & cruelty-free products. When I saw the Bawse Voter campaign parternered with Michelle Obama, I had to give it a try. I ordered the Hot Mama matte liquid lipstick. It applies well, but Im very disappointed in the color. It is a very blue-based red, almost a cranberry. I much prefer orange based reds. I wont return it, because it is fall and I can use it, but the color palette in the ad was off. Because a Sista owns this business, Im going to order the shade Boy Trouble. I also placed an order for foundation, because I love the applicator. I think the shade will be right for winter, as Im a fair skin Black woman, who couldnt get much sun this summer 😟. Im certain my next review will be 5 stars.

I ordered the First Lady lip gloss and it’s just ok. I wanna love this color more I just don’t. I wish the gloss was glossier. This color still has a funny shade to it that doesn’t really match my skin tone. I still would recommend this place because the color does work it just needs some adjusting with lip liner and another gloss. I wanted something to put on real quick and be out the door.

I was introduced to lip bar on Mother’s Day 2020. I received a free matte lipstick. I chose crown me. I’ve been in love every since. I’ve ordered glosses and more matte lip colors. They are long lasting and beautiful.

Absolutely beautiful store with phenomenal staff. Truly- I commend you for your sales associates, and and writing this review because they make the experience in your store fun and pleasant. The liquid matte formula, isnt my favorite; I find it to be difficult to apply, and it clumps and flakes all day. The eyeliner though. . .my goodness! Ive spent time and money on products ranging from Revlon, to Marc Jacobs, to Pat McGrath and everything in between. Nothing comes close. Easy to apply, doesnt smudge, and looks phenomenal. Stop in and give it a try!

I visited mid-day on 10/4/19 with a friend. The place is BLACK OWNED, tucked in a handsome alley in downtown Detroit & is super cozy/ cute! There are two product displays, three testing stations with wooden swings at seats complete with mirrors, make-up remover wipes & lip gloss wands. The swings were unexpected and so much fun! The sales associate was working alone, so service was a little slow with the lunchtime rush, but it was worth the wait! The sales associate sanitizes each lip stick between testing & sets you up at a testing station. She was very helpful in making recommendations & would even take clients outside in the natural light to check a foundation shade. Theres a video playing featuring lip colors on various models & awesome art work on the ceiling. Every lip color I tried was A-MAZING! The products are vegan with mostly natural ingredients and very pigmented. Everything is reasonably priced. After we left, we shopped in other stores & ladies gave compliments on our lips & we complimented theirs. All the ladies in the area were wearing Lip Bar! 💋

Went here with my wife. Cool spot for the ladies. They just need to add signed so people know they are located in an alley.

Be prepared to wait outside just to get in. Makeup is amazing however the waittime just to get in was long.

I enjoyed my very first The Lip Bar experience very much. I live in the Windsor, ON area, and we dont have any of their products in Canada (yet). The trip to the flagship store in downtown Detroit was very much worth it. It was busy when I walked in but I was greeted right away. I waited only a few minutes before being served and when it was my turn, the ladies were attentive, engaged and very much motivated to help me find my perfect shades and formulations. I ended up leaving with 3 products (2 liquid mattes and a gloss). I felt welcomed and appreciated. Ill definitely go back!

I visited this today because my daughter wanted to try their lip gloss. The set up was very inviting and the selection of lip gloss and lip stick was plentiful. I was skeptical about me actually liking or wanting to buy something for myself, as I dont wear make up. However, the salesperson helped me experiment with some colors and I ended up purchasing two lipsticks and two lip glosses for myself. 😍

I had the hardest time trying to find a red lipstick or gloss that I felt complimented my complexion. And then there was Bawse Lady! I think I may wear this color EVERYDAY! I also purchased two Fast Face foundations. But, this red is everything!!!!! I love how the foundation goes on so smooth and it doesnt look heavy at all!!! The website recommended 4:06 and I also purchased 5:02 just to try something a little darker just in case. 4:06 was a little too light, but worked great as a hilighter. I would definitely order again!

The shop is quaint and clean. The staff were very courteous and helpful. I love my new lipsticks! Cant wait to come back for the Fast Face class.

I visited the flagship Detroit store on Agnes Street after reading wonderful reviews about Lip Bar products. The Client Service expert was very engaging and took time to discuss product benefits and suggest colors thatwould look good on me. She recommended colors I would never try in hues I thought were too bright for my complexion. I was pleased and surprised that recommended colors looked quite becoming. I would recommend Lip Bar products to anyone looking for a long lasting lipstick that moisturizes verses dries out the lip!

Love, love, love! Its a cute location with a vrry modern design. You can try on ANY color. Did you hear me? ANY. No buying and exchanging or returning because the color is off. The staff is knowledgeable and will suggest colors based in your style and requests. This was my first time visiting and I walked out with FOUR new shades! Lifelong customer here! Bonus: mattes are not drying and long-lasting for real!

Slowly collecting all the lip glosses first. At least 3 swings in front of mirrors for sampling. Lights are high up so its kind of difficult to see your lips. However, im in love with the lip gloss. Moving onto the lipstick next.

I love the colors, I have 2 but they both have achemical taste and smell to me. I love the store, I love her advertisement, and promotion. Its just something about the taste that wasnt a good fit for me.

I like the lipstick I just think the experience could have been more hands on. Like the application process. I struggle with putting on the wet application and not getting it outside my lip line or not using too much

Finally found a red lipstick that looks good on my skin tone.

I love their lipstick colors. Very pigmented. I hate, HATE the lipgloss. I really wanted to love it and support the business. I made the mistake of buying 2 at once. It’s very drying and only stays on about 20 minutes at a time. I will purchase more lipsticks but never a lipgloss again.

I was visiting out of town and heard rave reviews about this place and was looking forward to trying out their beautiful lipsticks. However, upon my arrival at 2:20 on a Tuesday I found them to be closed even though their website said they are open on Tuesdays from 12-7. Initially I wanted to call ahead because it is the holidays and hours vary by store but they do not have a number on their website so I took a chance by heading to the store anyway. They not only lost a potential customer but they also ended up with this 1-star review.

OMG! What to say. Vegan Lip Colors that are highly pigmented and absolutely perfect. PLUS, they are very inclusive in their campaigns and that is something to be proud of. I need to keep coming back, because I cant get enough of the few I have.

I bought 6 lipsticks from this company from a deal off the view. The lipsticks you could see threw package were nothing like the pictures or photos online or publicated. They had a purple hue to the pinks and the one I did try out of the 6 which I didnt return cause they accept no returns opened or used smelled plasticky. They said I could return to an address within 7 days of receipt so I sent right away. It arrived 2 days and the usps said they couldnt get access to deliver it but came to deliver at address. I know it was a holiday but its been a week. Buyer beware. Terrible return policy, wrong return address or delay. And terrible cheaply made product.

I purchased the lipstick online. I purchased it because I thought I was getting a lipstick with NO toxic ingredients. I appreciate that she uses natural ingredients like shea butter, avocado oil, coconut oil and vitamin E, which was listed on her website. However, she did not list the ingredients on her website that produces the colors of her lipsticks because if she had done that, then I would not have purchased one of the lipsticks because it DOES unfortunately include toxic ingredients.Please for others sake, list ALL of the ingredients of your lipstick on your website (EXACTLY as they are listed on the box of the lipstick…examples: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride…derivate of coconut oil, titanium dioxide, Yellow 5 Lake, Red #7 Lake, etc.) because it is only fair that your potential customers know EXACTLY what the ingredients are, so people like me who are looking for lipsticks without toxic ingredients will not be fooled by false advertising.I didnt find out the truth until I received the lipstick in the mail, and read the ingredients that were listed on the box. I had also emailed the company, requesting the total list of ingredients (since the total list was not on the website), and that confirmed the toxic ingredients.
