Went today after wanting to go for a year now. Drove 30 minutes just to be disappointed. I wanted the bacon not on the potato but on the side. They said they can only put it in top which made no sense to me. My little girl eats bacon but I don’t and I was gonna finish what she didn’t. It only made sense for it not to be on top. I left without ordering. I waited so long for nothing!! Things happen for a reason because it’s loaded with carbs which make you fat and tired. It was best I didn’t eat one and I take this as God was preventing me from possible getting sick from it.

A Must visit... Very nice staff! Potatoes are huge, can eat twice maybe three times off one Potato.... all kinds of treats plus hand packed shakes.

I come here nearly once a week. Ever since 2016 when I started my Freshman year at Wayne State. The potatoes are HUGE and DELICIOUS. My favorite potato now is the Cajun Potato with Cajun butter. Its amazing! I hope they bring back the Apple Crumb Muffins too! Those were the best!!! I recommend this place to anyone.

This is by far one of the BEST place to buy a baked potato. My friends and I stopped by this location leaving from the Detroit Historical Museum and came across this place. The food was hot and smelling sooooooo good! The potato was so filling that it took me two days to eat it. I will be coming back again and telling others. The picture is the Jefferson, very filling. You wont be disappointed getting the Jefferson.

These guys have some really great food. Their service is always great. Careful about the Jalapenos though they are really good but dont always sit well in your stomach. Ive heard this a lot and experienced myself. So I was not alone in my experience but besides that everything pretty great

The potato place is a go to favorite for me everytime I visit Detroit. These potatoes are so big you can have it for two meals or share it. And so many items to make your potato just how you like it.

Very poor customer service!!!!!I placed an order online and paid for it, once I arrived I was given my order. I order more items, my online order was for a side of garlic butter, the cashier stated they must have put it on the potato. I said ok and asked him to charge me for a side of butter he got irritated and slammed the side of butter on the counter. I throw it back. The male Manager came from the lobby and snatched my food that was paid for out my hand and told me to get out of his restaurant and was no longer allowed to come into the because he didnt want to have to kill anyone....Very poor customer service he didnt even ask what the problem was just started yelling, snatched my food and threat to kill me was very unprofessional. Im glad he told me I cant come back because Ill never spend my money where Im treated with such disrespect!!!!

This was the best loaded potato I’ve ever had!!! I made my own potato which was the House Potato without the chicken and I put bell peppers, onions, jalapeño peppers, garlic butter, broccoli, creamy nacho cheese and real bacon on it mhmm so delicious. Needed more cheese though but overall it was very good.

Ill be honest and say I gave it a 3 because it just didnt FEEL like The Potato place I 1st visited over 20yrs ago. I know, I know things change, but the complete gentrification of the area took away the feel I am an original Detroiter born & breed and to see staples such as this lose the specialness was kinda heartbreaking. I used to drive way from HP on a 30min LUNCH just to get a potato. You walked in, the ice cream display was RIGHT THERE, having to SQUEEZE in just to get a place in line, only being able to pay with CASH. Seeing fellow Detroiters walk out with HUGE GRIN cause they couldnt wait to eat it. It was just those things that made it feel like home, now it feels completely gentrified and I dont like it!

I have not been here but they literally have a customer for life. I had a issue with my card being used at this place for a online order. We reached out to management and he was beyond helpful, although you said he couldnt do anything about refunding the money directly to the card. After this some time went by had to file a police report and everything. Called back to talk to the waitress and found out they had almost had to fight the guy using my credit card because they refused to give him the food. Customer service here has to be bar none, those employees doing that stepped up to stop this are beyond amazing and definitely deserve a raise. Thank you guys very much, I will find a way to repay you guys.

Its a decent little place, Id say the price is fair, people were friendly. It has a small little hole in a wall feeling.Wasnt the best food that I crave to go back but wouldnt say no if anyone ever asked me to go again.

I hadnt been to this place in about 10 years. It was nice to know that their food was still as good as I remembered. This time I was able to share it with my chicken and the 3 of us at off of that huge helping of baked potato. We sat in the dining areato eat. Its about 5 small tables with 2 chairs each, and theres a TV set to closed captioning. You also have to pay at the meter so beware of your time--either download the app ahead of time for your car or call ahead with your order to save money at the meter.

OMG they have the best potatoes!!!! My aunt introduced me to this place when I was in high school and I have been hooked every since. The food is absolutely delicious. They have a large variety of food options but definitely a place for potato lovers. Thank me later!

I ordered alfredo potatoes. I reinerated this several times because they rang me up improperly when i came in. Then I realized when i got home that there was no alfredo sauce (dry & nasty)so i essentially paid $52 for 3 potatoes with cheese chicken and shrimp on it(something i couldve made @ home for $20) upon notifying them of the mistake not only did they argue with me about the accuracy of my order but the manager had the audacity to try and convince me that he recorded my order and went back to check the recording. If all of this wasnt enough check out the photo i posted showing the long piece of hair i found in my potatoe.Unprofessional

So its been a couple years since Ive been here, but the last time I was they were under new management and the new owner turned me off due to them using straight broccoli stems and no florets. So, I didnt return till today to purchase a couple cookies which unfortunately they dont bake daily anymore, but charging same price and the smoothie recipe has changed and its so bland. Im really bummed about it all, the previous owners seemed so much better and the staff even seemed happier every time Id call or visit, unlike now.

Delicious. Get extra garlic butter because when I got to the middle it was not moist. It was still good. I would also recommend getting extra meat because this was my first time and after I ate the ingredients I dont care for the rest. Although the potato is good by itself. Yummy yummy yummy. Make sure you feed the meter.

I do not eat meat so I can’t speak to their meat options. But the veggie option is awful. The mushrooms are definitely canned. The vegetables don’t taste fresh maybe frozen. There was barely any seasoning for taste. I had to basically recook the dish at home to make it edible. If the vegetables were fresh and there was flavor that would have made a huge difference. I will likely not be returning.

I ordered from DoorDash and this is how my food came. I only got one of my drinks and my food didn’t have the extras I paid for. This is just disgusting. My bag is sweated out and my cookie is completely ruined. I used to love it here but guess I’m going to spud headz next time. Do better guys!!

Now thats what u call a 5 star restaurant wow was mine and my husbands potato amazing we drove all the way from garden city to try this place out and i will say we will be regular customers. The one thing i loved it seeing all the workers wearing masks and gloves before making our potato the one lady took her gloves off that she had on and washed her hands and got new gloves being in the health care we notice everything thank u to all the employees at the potato place keep up the great work and stay safe.

This was the most fun I ever had with a potato. One of my fondest memories growing up was eating stuffed baked potatoes and here we have this! I had the chicken parm potato which is something I never expected to order in my life but here we are! Loved it! The place is extremely popular at lunch time! Definitely give it a go!

We ordered this for a work lunch through GrubHub, and there were 2 orders missing out of the 4 we ordered. There was miscommunication somewhere, but it doesnt make sense for the restaurant to give the order to the driver when it was incomplete. My coworker contacted GrubHub, and also the restaurant, and the person who answered the phone for the restaurant didnt seem phased by what happened. The food is good, dont get me wrong, but the quality diminishes drastically once the staff provides ill customer service with no apology for the mishap.

It seemed like a great idea, and I really wanted to like it a lot but the ingredients they use are not so great and it shows in the flavor. The food looks good but they cut corners by using canned veggies. From a business owners perspective it’s good, but as a consumer it lacks quality. People will pay a couple of extra bucks for Good quality!

Hands down the BEST potatoes in the business. I was initially at Spudz (8 Mile near Mound location) but was upset that it was 12:24 pm on Thurs. Feb. 11, and they were still close (waiting for crew). Whatever, I just about gave up till I remembered the Potato Place. Ive had some amazing potatoes from here before but I didnt really feel like making the long drive down to get it). So glad I got over myself and got down to get 2 awesome House Potatoes (which took me and my partner the entire day/night to eat). Thanks for EVERYTHING you do.🤗

Very small place but the food is BIG! The potatoes are huge and they dont skimp out on the toppings. I really like the veggie potato, and it usually lasts 2 meals. All of the desserts are good as well. Theres really nothing that is bad at this place!
