We stumbled upon this place on our travels and by far the best most unique tasting ice cream 🍨 parler I’ve ever been to. Flavors like 🌹 rose and lavender a fun twist all ingredients from your local farms!

I have been to many different ice cream creameries, shops, stands, and more. The one thing I typically order when I come to a new place is a scoop of their vanilla. Everyone has different likings but to me, it is an essential flavor that is the foundation for their other flavors. If a location has bad vanilla thats the end, I move on. To that end, the vanilla here is phenomenal, my favorite so far. Its not overly sweet, it is refreshing, crisp, and fresh. The perfect texture of the ice cream added to this positive experience. Since then, I have tried their other flavors and this place has not disappointed me yet. The staff were mostly friendly but sometimes theyre appeared stressed and less representative. Though not an excuse to look bothered, but a lot of times its only one staff member catering to a line out the door. The parking is limited, and the scoops are small. Would recommend to everyone to try.

Tried this out the first time the other night. Good flavors but the consistency of the ice cream itself was slightly on the grainy side like home ice cream not chilled at the right speed. The sample I tried did not have that problem. Anyway it was good and well try again if were in the area.

Stopped off here with the hubs a few weeks back because we had a hankering for some decent ice cream. Well The Good Scoop definitely delivered. Been back multiple times now and we can’t get enough of their crowd favorite, Cookie Monster. It’s like cookies and cream on steroids but with added gobs of cookie dough. Sooo good. Now we’re driving 20+ miles to bring back 4 pints at a time. I’ve even met one of the owners, Rick, who’s super friendly and accommodating of our newfound ice cream addiction. Highly recommend. Especially since it’s right off I-80.

This is my first time visiting Davis so I have nothing to compare it to as this is the only ice cream shop I have been to in the area. However, comparing it to the other craft ice cream places I have tried in LA, this is not bad at all!! The ice cream is not too sweet yet very flavorful. My friends and I got the rose water, orange blossom and jasmine and they all have very strong respective flavors. They were also very aromatic and creamy. You can tell they used natural ingredients rather than fake syrups etc.

Locally made and own by great people. I am strictly a Vanilla person but The Good Scoop got me coming back and trying all their new and creative flavors! Recommend to all to come visit!

This is a wonderful ice cream parlor. The flavors are always changing keeping things fresh and new.The black sesame waffle cone is made fresh everyday, giving the sweet ice cream a lovely salty taste. I would recommend this place over any other ice cream shop. By the way its all organic.Plenty of seating inside and out. Great music and clean restrooms. What more could you want?

The ice cream here is sublime. They have flavors you wouldnt consider to be traditional ice cream flavors. They offer you the opportunity to sample all their different ice creams they have available for the day prior to purchase. Its rather expensive here but if youre treating yourself to some ice cream you should check this place out. Highly recommend their black sesame cone, goes well with just about all of their ice creams. Should be busy in the upcoming summer months

We have always loved the flavors at the Good Scoop. Honestly really great icecream with some of the most unique flavors that you really cant find anywhere else. However, we have noticed over the last year that the scoops have gotten smaller and smaller. We really want to continue to be customers, but are really considering not coming back. 2 scoops is really equivalent to about one for a fairly high price per scoop (even on $2 scoops Tuesdays it still feels like we are not getting a very good deal).

The Good Scoop is hands down one of the best ice cream shops around. The staff is always friendly and the ice cream is always top notch!

I love the icecream. They always have fun new flavors to try. The hours are very limited which is the only down side. Check to be sure they are open before making a special trip to Dixon for a Good Scoop. It would be nice to have a shop in downtown Loomis!

They have really interesting flavors of ice cream! I tried the Lavender and Earl Grey and it was just like eating lavender and tea! Would recommend for individuals that want to try new and unique flavors of ice cream.

I think this is a great place to visit when youre in Davis.The Good Scoop provides unique flavors that are difficult to find elsewhere. And youre encouraged to sample everything.Because the ingredients in the ice cream are organic, scoops are smaller than other ice cream parlors, and its pricier than other ice cream chains. But I think the unique ice cream flavors make up for all that.Check FB for daily updates on which flavors they have. And dont forget to try the black sesame cone.

Spacious with lots of chairs.Last time I went because they took a long time to get me my milkshake, they gave me a discount and on top of that a discount coupon for the next time. The shake wasnt good (not enough ice cream) but I came back few times after because of the customer service and the ice cream is great (havent had the shake ever since though).----------------------------------------Came back again several times after my first review. My favorite is geranium.Theres water for customers.

HOLY COW I LOVE THIS ICE CREAM. The flavours are exactly what they should be ie. Mint tastes like a mint leaf, peanut butter and jelly tastes just like a sandwich. Its amazing

The flavors are obscure for the sake of being different or hip, but to the detriment of the experience. Simply said, most of them taste bad. If I wanted a mouthful of perfume I could just walk through the perfume section at Macys for free (germanium and lavender ice cream?) Additionally, when handed my scoop of ice cream, at first I thought it was a joke. The smallest scoop of ice cream Ive ever received. 4 dollars for a golf ball sized scoop... never again.

I went there for my birthday in October and at the time the flavors were interesting. However they were also bitter and the portion size for the price was ridiculous. At least the lemonade was free and they let you use the toilet.

With this place being only a block away from baskin robbins I hoped the quality and flavor of the ice cream would surpass baskin robbins especially since its so high priced. I walked in and it was hot which is not usual for an ice cream place. I felt like I could have made better tasting ice cream at my house. The flavor choices were different but not in a way of making you want to try them.

Great ice cream. Sometimes the service is just a tad off. They advertise the availability of samples but will then show a wee bit of annoyance when you ask to sample a second flavor.

More like the good but expensive scoop. The new ice cream corner serves Taras Organic (from Berkeley aka weird town) in the nice suburban college town of Davis (aka Cowtown). They have a variety of exotic and unusual ice creams, Popsicles, gelato, sorbet, and waffle cones.I came on a Saturday night and it was pretty popular, Id recommend coming around lunch or afternoon so you get maximum flavor options. I really wanted black sesame but even the Popsicle sold out, so instead I got a small with two flavors sunflower seed butter and chamomile. Like Taras I enjoyed the black sesame cone, but didnt think overall the ice cream was worth it. The flavor is there but it doesnt have the keep wanting more quality that some ice cream Ive eaten has.

I hated this place my family and I went here for a treat who could go wrong with ice cream well when we tried this place it was so gross I cant believe they ruined ice cream $10 for two single scoops of ice cream and theyre both horrible sister and I each had a lick and we threw it away and the ice cream was freezer burnt
