How have I lived in Dobbs Ferry for 7 years and NOT eaten here before??? This place is exactly what I have been looking for: a down-home, street style Mexican food joint.Don’t let the ambiance fool you, the tacos here are legit. I had the 3 taco platter with rice and beans. The carnitas were killer, but I’m taking a star off for tough beef and chicken. (In their defense, it was way after lunch, so the beef and chicken had probably been sitting under the heater since morning). While they won’t win any awards for them, the rice and beans were perfectly adequate for my needs.If you’re moving here from the city, it behoves you to understand what Gallo Deli not. It is not a fancy, NYC culinary experience proffered you by a top, international chef with a melange of Mexican and Central American flavors. What it is is a down-and-dirty, old school Mexijoint to satisfy my need for Mexichow. Yum!Next time I’m trying the enchiladas.
Hands down Gallo Deli delivers the best food and service in town. The food smelled so good at the door, and was piping hot, I enjoyed it before taking a picture. Everything was seasoned well, the meat tender, the veggies fresh and plenty of abundant avocado. The Al Pastor Quesadilla was pure perfection.
Very warm welcome by the owner herself. Food was excellent and well prepared. Price was very affordable! Will be back with my family soon!

A nice little cozy place to get great food.
I ordered some rice and beans with steam veggies, bacon egg and cheese on a roll for my son and a chicken quesadilla meal for my sister. All I have to say is not only is the food amazing but the service is impeccable! All of the staff were very attentive, the food was prepared quickly, it was very inexpensive and all of the staff wore masks and gloves to prepare my food. Gallo Deli is lit!! Please open a deli in Brooklyn!!!!!
Walked in for a BEC walked out with enchiladas, the staff was amazing, great prices and portion sizes I wish more places were like this! I’m happy I stopped!HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I had an awesome time at this restaurant. We loved the fantastic atmosphere and the meals. The staff members are super friendly. I’m content we ultimately managed to try this place.

9/2020. I’ve in coming to Gallo for at least six years about two times a month for taco chorizo, arroz amarillo, y frijoles. About 5 bucks plus tip, and, yes this place is worth it for Mexican food. Plus, I have been practicing my Spanish with them entire time. Really good food.
Such a lovely breakfast spot. The chorizo, egg and cheese on a roll was so delicious. 10/10 recommend! It was an amazing atmosphere to catch up with friends while also enjoying a quality meal.

4-2020: Ive been going to Gallo Deli for well over 6 years, at least once a month, for taco-chorizo, arroz amarillo and beans. Under $5 and really delicious. Less often, for my family, we also get small containers of just rice; and chicken tacos. They keep the place spotless.

Stopped in on Mothers Day about an hour before they closed. There is street parking right outside. Ordered the chicken quesadilla and was blown away. It was stuffed with chicken and super cheesy with a nice topping of lettuce, tomato, sliced onions and avocado slices, with rice and beans on the side. Got some green and spicy red sauce to pour on top and loved it. Come hungry or you wont be able to finish. Had to order a Bistec flauta to go. They have many drinks on offer including Jarritos of several flavors and Mexican sodas. Will definitely be coming back to try more from the menu and get another quesadilla.

Hidden Gem alert. This deli is more of a counter service/ fast order restaurant. It is family owned and operated and it feels that way. No frills whatsoever, but friendly service and wonderful authentic Mexican food at a very reasonable price. Chiles rellenos is out of this world, perníl is perfect, and the tacos and enchiladas are all top notch.
