I dropped off a LS1 Motor and heads to this Machine shop for them to clean and inspect them. I made my initial deposit of 150 dollars and was told I would be notified upon completion. Four weeks passed with no communication or correspondence. I called to check on the progress and was told that the machinist was out sick but the work will get done once they were caught up. We discussed what my plans were for the build and I decided I wanted the block decked, honed, cam bearings, and freeze plugs installed and springs for the heads. He said once the figure out if the block and heads are serviceable they would start additional work requested. Four more weeks pass with no communication or correspondence, so I reach out to the machine shop again only to be informed that no work had been completed but the machinist was well and able to handle it promptly. I asked if I could just pick up the engine with the work done to the block and heads so I could be done with situation altogether. I was informed that my bill was 950.00$ minus the 150.00$ deposit. I asked what had been done with the block and was informed that it only had been cleaned. I asked what had been done to the heads and was informed the had removed the springs and cleaned them. I asked have the freeze plugs been installed and was told no they needed money to order the parts. I asked could I just pick them up in the unfinished condition and was told bring 100.00$ dollars to pick up the engine block and it would be 320.00$ dollars for the heads with no springs. This is on top of the $150 deposit that I had initially paid for. I felt like I had been taken advantage of so I left them the motor and walked away from the entire situation. Their service was poor, there was no accountability, a lack of integrity, and no professionalism.
Stay away from these guys poor service and no accountability. They built an LS 2 for me but did not properly balance it...problems started at the first crank. Took weeks to get them to finally look at it ended up taking to Bishop’s machine shop to get it resolved. Lesson learned spend the extra $$ and go to Bishop’s!
Never had a problem here. Ive been coming here for years.
A family owned machine shop. They do awesome work.
Great fast and on time
