Super busy and I HIGHLY recommend scheduling an appointment.Appreciated their upfront-ness and explaining what they thought was and was not possible.Scheduled through my insurance but they worked with us to find an appointment time that worked beat for us. Appreciate how flexible with us and our circumstances.

Worst experience ever, tech scratched paint on both sides of my car as well as the trunk and tail light!!!!! Also broke my trunk latch, left black prints of grease all over the car. Blew glass from my back windshield to the front which left glass under my windshield wipers as well as blew glass fragments all over my drive way were my dogs walk. This is the most unprofessional job I have seen done.I paid good money to fix a windshield now all I have is a crooked windshield a scratched up car and glass all over my yard. I have Been trying to call and get in contact but get sent to voice mail automatically and this is during business hours I spent $500 to get this done. Would never recommend them.

I had an appointment to come to my work in Durham to replace the windshield. He arrives to do the install, but it had just started raining. He told me I could reschedule for another day or drive to the office and he would just do it there. I took off work and drove to the office because my windshield was in horrible shape and I didnt want to wait multiple days again to get it done. This is where the problems start.. I get to the office and he says they have a truck in the shop unloading glass and it may take a while but they would start as soon as it was done and then about 1 hour to install the windshield. I wasnt thrilled but I had taken off work and driven across town to get this done so I agree to wait. He comes back out 45 minutes later and tells me that the plastic cowling under my windshield wipers is fragile and commonly breaks on that car and that they would not be responsible for it if it were to break. So Ive waited days to get this scheduled, driven to the shop, waiting another 45 minutes... what do I do? Not get the windshield replaced? I had just removed the plastic piece a couple months ago by myself for a different repair so I told them to just go ahead.. This has now been a 3 hour experience and he comes out to tell me the car is done, and oh yeah, they broke the plastic cowling. They said they would put in a claim with my insurance company to try to get them to pay and would call me to let me know. Frustrated, I leave. Driving down the road I hear a squeaking/creaking coming from the dash and pass it off as maybe the glue hasnt dried. I also notice fingerprints all over the inside of the window and my dashboard is really dirty with streaks of maybe windex or something. I get to work and notice that there are two screws on the floor.. I have no idea where they came from. I wait to hear back from them about the insurance claim and was going to tell them about the other issues.8 days later (Feb 13, 2020), no one has called. I call the number given here on google and it ends up being a corporate number, I ask them to transfer me to the Durham store.. they transfer me to Raleigh. Raleigh transfers me to the Durham store where I spoke to Chris. He said there was no update at this time about the insurance claim for the cowling. I told him about the creaking and the screws on the floor. He said he would address that all at once with the replacement of the cowling. He said he would call me back in 30-45 minutes with an update. He never called. I tried to call the Durham store back the next day multiple times with no answer and no way to leave a voicemail. Still no call back from them as of today (February 17, 2020) at noon.This is not worth all the frustration and I have ordered the cowling out of my own pocket and am going to start trying to find where the screws came from on my own. Just wanted everyone to know what level of service to expect from this store. I will give it 2 stars because my new windshield does look nice.

Discrimination!!After waiting 3 months for my honda windshield to come in, I finally received a call to schedule another appointment for this past Saturday. Excited about finally being able to get the windshield replaced, I rushed over in am traffic. I arrived 9 mins late due to some road construction going on that I was unaware of. Anyways after walking inside I waited an extra 10 minutes before the office guy came upfront to the window. I explained I have an appointment for a replacement of my windshield. He responds asking me what time was your appointment. I stated 9am, however I arrive here at 9:09 and waited an extra 10 minutes to be greeted and addressed. He rolls his eyes and takes a deep breath. Then he states that they are booked and too busy to do the job. I replied with too busy, there was only one other car there that belonged to a lady that walked in same time as I did. The parking lots was empty and so was the garage stalls. I responded with surely this wouldnt have been a 9 minute fix, and I reiterated that I’ve already waited over 3 months. He seemed to not care and stuck to his excuse. Seeing that they were able to assist the white woman who walked in with me, I couldn’t help but to feel discriminated against. As I was walking out the white woman told me to call corporate. She stated that she also was running behind by 15mins yet they helped her. At this point I didn’t want to spend my money where I wasn’t welcome.

HORRIBLE!!!Mobile service was to fix a pin drop chip that spider out into a two inch crack I cant determined the depth of the crack. I was told after the fact that if I was not satisfied or if it spider out I could get a new windshield. I should not have to assume that the work was not guaranteed. Give me the most important terms and conditions and let me determined if I want to get the pin drop chip fix. I have to pay a $250.00 deductible for a new windshield that Volvo will install.HORRIBLE SERVICE, AND WORK

Incompetent, lied about damage.Took my car in for a windshield replacement. After working on the car for 90 minutes I took a look in the bay. They had the hood of my car up, with 3 technicians and the manager Paul looking at the passenger side wiper mount. One of the techs noticed me looking and all three of them made the unmistakable face of someone who just got caught with their hand in the cookie jar. One of the technicians made a shooshing gesture and the rest of them scattered. The manager continued working on my car, attempting to reattach the windshield wipers (the entire arms, not just the blades). 30 minutes later the manager told me the car was ready to go. I asked him if there were any problems with the windshield wipers and he told me no, that they had accidentally put the wipers on the wrong side but he had straightened it out. I checked in the parking lot and the wipers appeared to work fine.As soon as I got home I opened the hood and noticed immediately that the trim on the underhood cowl was hanging loose. One of the trim screws was missing from the cowl and two others were barely threaded. The driver-side wiper had a large chunk of metal broken off the base. I also noticed the passenger-side wiper mount appeared to have a lot of play in it. Upon close look I realized that either the tech or the manager had broken the metal bracket holding the wiper assembly to the frame. I called the manager and asked him about the damage. He claimed ignorance of the damage but made no effort to deny they caused it. He immediately told me hed order the replacement bracket and call me when it came in. (Interestingly he knew exactly what part needed to be ordered without me even describing it. I wonder how he knew what part needed replacing if he was unaware of the damage?)The truth is I would not have been very upset if they had been upfront about the damage immediately. I have a hard time believing the manager was unaware of the damage given the huddle of technicians I saw looking directly at area with the broken bracket. Furthermore I am now relying on his word that they will actually repair the broken bracket. Even worse, if they do hold their word and attempt to repair the bracket, I have to trust that they can complete that task without causing further damage. They could not replace the windshield without damaging a structural component. How am I to trust them with any further work on my car? Ill update this review with the outcome, but I have low expectations. Regardless of the outcome, I will never trust this location to do even the simplest work on my car in the future.

Here’s my Safelite story, but it’s much different from the sappy tv commercials. Vanessa from Safelite Autoglass Durham, NC came to my home on 11/19/20 at 3:05 PM to repair a stone chip on my windshield. She explained that the chip could spread once heated. I signed a release acknowledging this possibility. She was on her cellphone the entire time she was servicing my vehicle. 15 minutes later, she told me the crack had spread and grew longer. I asked her, what happens now She told me to call the office to make an appointment for a new windshield. My deductible is $500. I called the office to speak to her manager (Chris Knight), but after 20 minutes on hold, an operator in Raleigh, NC told me to try later. I went to the Durham location Friday 11/20/20 @ 10:00AM in an attempt to talk to the manager. He was off that day. To this date, Chris has not been available and my calls havent been returned. I had to spend $500 to get a new windshield at the Durham location due to Vanessas incompetence. I feel Safelite should refund at least $250 since the damage was caused by their negligence. I’m very dissatisfied and disappointed by Safelite’s customer service and professionalism.

Had a front windshield replaced here. The windshield install seems fine. No complaints right now. Dropped my car off around 9a, wasnt completed until around 3:30p. This wasnt necessarily a problem except that its not made clear online when you go to book that if you choose the drop-off option, its like not having an appointment, therefore, they get to you when they get to you. I assumed if I dropped off at 9a, Id likely have my car back by 1p., 2p. at the latest. Had I known my car would be pushed all the way to the end of the day, I wouldve just signed up for one of the appointments they had on that same day. In addition, it appears my car was only reached when it was because I called to find out the status (the text feature did not work). My first time calling, around 2p, I was placed on hold for almost 20m. I hung up, called back and was informed the rep had spoken with the shop (why didnt she take me off hold to tell me??), and that my car was being worked on. This was around 2:30p. So, clearly, my repair wasnt started until after I called originally. So, I subtracted a star for customer service (holding 20m with no return to my call-I had to call back) and lack of candor (I dont believe for a minute that my repair coincidentally began about the same time as my status call). Second, when I picked up my car, I inspected it and immediately noticed that the cover that goes over the bolt that secures my windshield wiper to the windshield/car, was missing. I told staff and they told me that the cover was always missing and that they took pictures (around 2:30 or 2:40p, my car was there since 9a) that show no cover over the bolt. The problem is, if the bolt cover was always missing (which I know it wasnt because its very noticeable when you walk up to the drivers side), the bolt should have been rusted or corroded from being exposed to the elements for years. It is in pristine condition. As the staff member disagreed with me and remained adamant the cover was missing when I brought my car in, I chalked it up and told him the part shouldnt cost much to replace ($6 it turns out) then left, knowing Idwrite this review later. So, minus another star for this situation, hence the three star review. Would I return to this particular location? Likely not. Would I use Safelite again? Maybe so. But hopefully I wont need to replace my windshield again anytime soon.Like Share

Very poor work. The employee was at my home less than 10 minutes. Didn’t communicate well and had a lazy attitude. The quality of work was awful. I ordered a $10 repair kit on Amazon that did a better job. When I complained to the employee she clearly didn’t care or take any pride in her work. I would not recommend.

I drove in at 415 pm for a consultation on a rock chip and Brian, the technician, told me to call my insurance for a potential free repair. Geico approved it and Brian fixed it in 15 mins. Fantastic service!

Absolutely awful experience. Waited 2 weeks for an appointment for my destroyed windshield after already being rescheduled bc they didnt get the glass in time and I get there only for them to say they didnt approve my insurance yet and they didnt even know where their manager was or when theyd be back or if insurance would even approve it. They couldnt tell me how much it would cost or if insurance would cover it but told me I could drop it off and hope insurance would cover it. 4 week process and insurance has not been verified!? They simply DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS!!! Drove 1 hour with a baby and arranged car drop off (husband had to take off work) only for them to say heres your keys, we cant help you, bye. They knew I was upset and DID NOT CARE. As a customer service consultant I will make sure to follow all avenues to share my experience.

STAY AWAY!!! - Choose anyone else. Safelite offers the absolute worst customer service. If you call them they assume that you want make an appointment. You can never talk to a shop or a real person. If you have a problem, like I did you literally have to get in your car and drive there if you want to talk with a person. WORST CUSTOMER SERVCICE EVER. These folks make your cable provider look like a pro!

Awesome company - love it! Staff was great! The technician who took care of my van was outstanding!!! Don’t bother with any other company just go here. Prices also very good best I found! In fact I was a little skeptical because of the low price “wrong” also just want to add that I noticed while driving home my van appeared as though nothing ever happened. Staff left van very clean no signs of work other than the broken windshield having been replaced.

I had a 4pm appointment and arrived on time. After waiting almost 5 minutes before anyone helped me, I was told that it would take 1-1.5 hours. There were 4 people already ahead of me in the queue when I arrived. They didnt even start work on my car for close to an hour. The staff was friendly and replaced the windshield quickly once they started (and after closing time).

This is second time I had to use services of Safelite for crack in the windshield caused by rock hitting windshield. I liked scheduling process over the smart phone and sending pictures via text. I also liked them coming to my work for doing the fix and was happy with service at their shop. They were quick and clear with how they bill insurance. Overall I am happy customer and will call them again when I need them.

First call I received was at 11:30a before a 12-5p service window to ask if they could come tomorrow morning instead. As I had set aside 5hrs today I said no, please come as scheduled. Once he arrived he was not prepared for the job. When I called to reschedule the woman who answered was completely disinterested in helping. All she did was blame someone else, pick a random appointment more than a week out then hang up on me.

I scheduled with Safelite and we were quoted a specific oem quality glass - told it would be pilkington brand.The day of the appointment came around and we received a call stating that the glass we ordered had broken when it arrived but they were doing everything they could to find something to maintain the appointment. The glass they ended up installing was a cheap replacement (FUNYO) and has several visual distortions in it. We already knew we didnt want this brand glass and were very specific with Safelite. We have this same brand glass in the vehicle for the windshield and it also has multiple visual distortions. These complaints were brought to the attention of a Safelite representative yet nothing was done, in addition we called to complain about this and were told that someone would be back in touch with us within 24 to 48 hours.The other day I closed the front passenger door and the rear glass shattered for absolutely no reason. The vehicle is clean inside theres absolutely nothing touching the glass yet it shattered.Safelite pretended to be really nice on the phone and scheduled a warranty replacement!! At this point I thought wow they really are standing behind their productThe day of the warranty service comes and their technician gives us a horrible attitude over the phone and never shows. Their manager backs out of the warranty claim and will not do anything for me.I have filed with better business bureau, consumer protection agency, and will be filing with the local courthouse later this afternoon. Luckily I have several audio recordings and paperwork to document my claims as well as security footage from work of the window breaking for no reason at the same time I closed the passenger door.This repair lasted less than one year, my original glass lasted from 2011-2020

Even though it was at the end of the work day, Jason was attentive to my needs and got me scheduled for immediate work the next morning. The next morning, Linda and Paul were able to schedule the repairs and help me handle insurance claims. Safe lite repaired the 2 chips in my windshield and to be honest i thought the repairs would be a lot less visible than what they are now.... The damage was smaller than a dime so i figured the chip would be sealed ALMOST to the point of no visibility, but its almost looks the same than before. I dont like the process of making the damage worse before the technician fills the hole with the epoxy they use.m I suggest a trial and error to find a better solution to fixing the windshields or maybe the tech wasnt trained properly or he just did a poor job!! To be blunt I am not satisfied......

The person who replaced the windshield of my car arrived on time. A text message was sent to me informing me who he is and when he will be arriving beforehand. Also he gave me a call in the morning and informed me about his scheduled arrival time and when he is expecting to arrive. It was almost 105 outside in midday when he arrived. But this did not stop him from polite, friendly and cheerful. He did a great job replacing the glass and was done within 45 minutes or so. everything looks great and there is no problems with the glass and installation what so ever. Price was reasonable (almost the same price that local shops gave me but satellite came to my door to replace the windshield).

I usually dont take the time to write reviews but felt the need to today: driving on I-40, a huge rock hit my windshield and left two 6 cracks. I knew my insurance (Nationwide) covered my windshield for instances like this. I jumped on their website (on my phone), entered all my info in less than two minutes and was quickly put on Safelites schedule. Juan from Safelite showed up on time at my house, was very professional and after about an hour, he was done. It was so quick, professional and convenient to have it done in my own garage. Highly recommend

The staff is very friendly and promptly answered any questions that I had. The wait time was decent and I got out an hour and a half earlier than I expected- which is great- since they had to replace my entire windshield. I had time to get things done before work later on! They gave me free breakfast, free snacks/drinks, and free Wi-Fi during my wait time.It was an amazing visit. I highly recommend coming here to get your windshield fixed- it was worth the drive.

They were so very helpful and I changed the glass request on my car the same morning of my afternoon appointment. They got it to the right shop on time and got it installed and let me know that the reason my winter package wasnt working on my suby was because during the last replacement the installer had failed to hook it up. They got it sorted and now I have a new windshield and working wiper defrosters.

First thing I noticed was that the facility was spotless. Second thing was that since I scheduled an appointment, they were expecting me and got right to solving my issue. I was experiencing a water leak which I thought was coming from a replacement windshield that (another) Safelite had installed a year prior. Dave was my service rep. He asked me two direct questions, and within 30 seconds had the solution. It wasnt the windshield that was leaking, it was my powered moon roof . . . and he showed me the clogged drainage points and described where the water goes when its clogged. Within 15 minutes, he cleared-out all the debris clogging the drainage points, rechecked the drainage to insure it was clear, and I was on my way. Best of all, no charge! Talk about honesty, integrity and amazing customer service. Safelite of Durham just earned a customer for life. Windshield Rockstars!

They came the next day promptly, very kind and attentive. Got down to the replacement of the window and technician discovered it was the drivers side that was in the truck. Not Happy!

The Safelite staff was pleasant to work with at all times, but they did not meet my/their own expectations for schedule or quality of work on my windshield replacement. First, they scheduled a home installation from 8-12AM; the person came at 11:30A, but with the wrong windshield. Next, I scheduled an in-office install. Without telling me, they changed it back around to a house call (I only found out when I called to verify the appointment). It took an hour on the phone, but I the appointment changed back around to an in-office install. Finally I was scheduled for a 9:00 install at the shop, and I was told to plan on it taking 1-1.5 hours. I got done at 11:30 or so. Problem is now my auto-light sensor (the thing that turns lights on automatically at dark) stays on all the time, and the wind noise is considerably more noticeable in the car now. I now have to take it back to the dealer for the light sensor, and back to Safelite for the wind noise. I think Safelite has what amounts to a monopoly on auto glass replacement, but if not, I would give another place at try.

I had a small chip in my windshield, and when I brought my car to safelite, they told me that there was a small chance that the crack could get bigger. I didnt expect for them to make a 12 inch across a quarter of our windshield. What should have been a quick fix completely ruined my windshield and we will probably have to replace the whole thing. They didnt explain my options, they just went ahead and tried to fix it, even though they knew it might cause a big crack.

Both the interior panel and the window were damaged when my car was recently broken in to. Not only did they do a great job replacing the window, they put on the new interior panel and cleaned up all the broken glass. The awesome staff made a stressful situation much easier to deal with. I had the back glass of my Dodge Caravan replaced a few months ago and all was well FOR A WHILE. The glass fell down in the back door of course when it broke and I was told they would be cleaning all that out. They didnt get all the glass out and it ended up in the automatic door lock and caused the door not to close and lock. We had to end up taking the motor for the door out and getting the glass out ourselves. I just want anyone that has a back window replaced in a Dodge Van make sure this is cleaned out well. Other than that no issues.

Horrendous job. Please everyone out there never have them service your car again. Broke my windshield when they replaced by snapping the clip. I go to the local car place and they fix the clip JUST so I can drive when it rains and it doesn’t ruin my car. Call safe life and that voids the warranty. What a screw job.

Dont go to the Safelite in Durham(04114). Justin who was suppose to be there best person, worked on my windshield and the next day it was worst then when I brought my car in. I was going to pay 250 dollars for another front windshield because he did a AWFUL job. I made a appointment at the Safelite in Raleigh and they waived my payment and fixed my front windshield. I will never go back to the Safelite in Durham! they make Safelite Auto Glass look bad!

Last month I got in my car in the extreme heat and my rearview mirror had fallen from the front windshield and was hanging by the wires. It was the end of the business day, so I had to hold it with one hand while driving with the other to keep it from hitting the windshield. I drove to Safelite AutoGlass the next day on my lunch hour. They were kind enough to reattach the mirror while I waited. They fixed it immediately and did not charge me. I also had a windshield repair by them this past winter. They came to my work to fix it, and the repair is still holding to date. I will definitely visit them again for any windshield replacement/repair Ill need in the future! I highly recommend them.

Brought in for chip repair covered by windshield warranty. Waited an extra 15 minutes to get my keys after they finished because they didnt have their paperwork right... only to find my window was damaged by their equipment / poor workmanship. Now I have even larger & more visible damage to the window after spending an hour of my day to get a minor chip repaired.The tech refused to take responsibility for the the damage caused to the window... and I think its no coincidence all 7 of your employees were huddling around & examining my windshield just minutes before you finished & parked my truck outside.BUYER BEWARE.

I went here for a second opinion after another repair shop had quoted me $150 for a repair of the rubber molding around my windshield. The gentleman who helped me at Safelite was very professional and honest. He explained the damaged part, what it did, and what he recommended for repair. He repaired it on the spot for much less than the other place had quoted me. He even spent the time to clean my car where there were some scratches and residue from the rubber molding rubbing the paint. I will certainly be returning if I ever need any other windshield related repairs. I would highly recommend them!

Spent 5 minutes trying to get the phone robot to transfer me to a human. After being forced to listen to a lengthy recorded advertisement, I got Shannon on the phone. She asked how she could help me, then immediately claimed she couldnt hear me. She didnt give me more than a half second to repeat myself, giving the impression that she does this to everyone. Is it so hard to treat your customers like humans?

HORRIBLE !! replaced my windshield. Next rain leaked into my blower motor they came out checked it said the windshield wasnt leaking. Next rain leaked again next technician came out also said wasnt windshield was a access door under the valence panel which they moved to replace the windshield. Burned up my blower motor controller. The manager Chris Knight said he would not do anything about it because it wasnt the windshield. No it was something they destroyed replacing the windshield. Would not stand behind their work.

Had a technician come and fill two chips in my windshield. Told me there would be a minor blemish and the windshield looks as if there was nothing done to it other than filled with an off color sealant in the center of the cracks. I have seen other repairs done much cleaner than this. Not impressed at all. Not to mention I scheduled my appointment online over a week in advance and they didnt send my information over to insurance until 5pm the day before the repair so of course the insurance claim wasnt ready so I had to spend an hour on the phone trying to get everything worked out. The Safelite representative I did speak with admitted the fault and worked to try to communicate with my insurance. Extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. I wrote this on their Facebook and was told to send over my work number which I did. I received a response saying that the purpose of a repair is to prevent the crack from spreading as if I didnt know that and that there was nothing they would do about the situation.

I have an 2016 F150 Crew Cab FX4 that Im absolutely and proudly anal about lol and Safelite was just as meticulous about their name being behind the windshield they installed as it showed in their workmanship done! I checked all over for pricing on OEM glass and no one and I mean NO ONE gave me a better deal than Safelite! Ya coulda let me know ahead of time!!!... What a waist of time - I waited for three hours into my promised four-hour window, only to have the technician show up and tell me that the glass he had for my windshield was SCRATCHED!... Oh yea, and offered my a $50 discount if I wanted to go ahead! :-) Are you kidding me?! Thats no better than the glass I already have on my vehicle!... My main complaint is that this could have been a call yesterday, or even this morning, without wasting much of my day in the process. THEN, when they tried to reschedule me, their first available was FOUR days from now! Bye, Safelite, Youre fired!

Back tail gate glass broken 2007 Acura MDX. October 1,2007- Got estimate online and set up appointment for replacement. This was the only that was easy and went well with the experience. Tech came out for appointment. Job was done within an hour. I went out to inspect the job and it appeared to be all intact and complete. Only issue at that time was the noticeable rattling of broken glass between the tailgate and interior tailgate panel. Tech sais that he could not get this out. Next day – As was going out to place some items from my office into the back of my car, I opened the tail gate and quickly noticed that the right top exterior light panel that was taken off during the replacement to allow access to install the glass was loose. The left side of the panel was tight, but he left side was loose. I immediately called customer service and after some confusion of what was done allready and what the current install issue was. Another appointment was made to have the tech back out to fix the failed install. The same day – I was on my way to an appointment and driving on the highway when banging/slapping noises form the back exterior of my car. I looked back in my rearview mirror, heard banging/slapping noise again and watched as my loose panel flew off my car and on to the highway behind. Luckily the cars behind me avoided the debris avoiding an accident. Once I got off the highway I called Saftelite again explaining what has now happen. I eventually was transferred to a supervisor. I supervisor listen and said tha he had never seen or heard of this happening before after an install. He did apologize and said is will order the replacement panel and have the tech come back out to reinstall everything once the part came in. The supervisor also drove out to my office to confirm the issues and to make sure he knew for certain the correct part to order. After 3 or 4 days I was contacted early that day by the supervisor letting me know that the part that was ordered had come in and same tech would be out to do the reinstall. But (this was very surprising) the tech had an appointment that day for an interview for a higher position within Safelite and would have to come out the next day. I guess customer doesn’t con first in this case? The tech came out to complete reinstall. After about an hour I went out to see the progress as from my office window it appeared to be done. To my surprise, the tech had informed me that the replacement panel part didn’t not come with the needed screws to lock the panel onto the car and his supervisor would need to order these and again have a tech come back out to finish the reinstall once again. After - the supervisor did call to apologized once again and said he would personally come back out to finish the reinstall once the remaining part came in. A few day later the supervisor came and finished the complete install. He also gave me a $50.00 gift card for my troubles. I personally thought I deserved more than a 50.00 gift card, but was just happy and ready to be done with the whole thing. Although, I’m reminded each time I open my tell gat and hear what remaining pieces of glass that are still banging around within the tail gate and tail gate panel. December-6-17 So this brings us 2months later… So now appears that some of the left behind broken glass has engaged into and jammed the tailgate latch and now my tail gate will not close at all. So for now another stress of trying to figure out how to get this fixed and while driving with an open tailgate. CUSTOMERS BEWARE!
