I have been using Trans caribe over three years now and never once have I had an issue. Today I called to schedule a pick up and to inquire about charges that seems to change every month I ship with them. First I called then the guy on the line said he cannot take my information because he will loose other customers information he is trying to enter. Guess what as a customer service manager myself I realized he could not multi task so I simple informed him to call me back when he is less busy. He did call me back within the next ten minutes which I appreciated. I then ask to schedule a pick up and inquire the fees because I have noticed that they been charging me differently every month. The guys said to me this is the rate from what he sees on his end. I said let me pull up my invoices because the rate keep changing every month. He then asked if I need some form of superior person because I am repeating myself and he is giving me the rates. I said excuse me??? because at that point I am saying to myself I ship with this company every month to the point that felt we had a GREAT relationship and that I should be able to inquire about payments. He seems so upset when I asked about the fees which made no sense to me seeing I am a customer. I said well can I have the superior individual he mentioned I can speak to? He said no he is busy right now.I can go to my credit card company and provide every invoice and dispute the charges which I will get the money that was pretty much stolen or may have been an error but guess what I just simply wanted to know what was the issue and if there was an additional charge or change. There are some discrepancies in all my invoices but I just simply wanted to bring it across. I work with a company as well and fees can change. It happens. The young man was so rude and out of place. I have my whole family shipping through this company because the other staff members I have dealt with even the drivers have always been kind and professional. Like the saying goes it only takes one bad experience to change your whole concept about a business. For this tomorrow will be my last day of doing business with trans caribe. I am so disappointed.

Such a disgrace I called them at 12 pm today to get 2 barrels picked up after waiting on the phone for more than an hour the automated talker made me aware I was first in line and should talk to someone soon . After waiting for quite a while in the number 1 position the phone just cut off, I called back in vain and no answer . Just to see the business closed at 2:30 pm. However i was on the phone more than an hour before closing hours . common decency is to serve me . gosh
Listen very carefully, do not..I repeat DO NOT use this company to ship a barrel across the street let alone internationally..!! They will tell you anything and give you unrealistic arrival dates in order for you to use them and once you do, well, now its out of their hands...we have no control what happens in the destination country.....it usually takes only 2 weeks (2 months later, still not arrived) They will actually lie to you, telling you the barrel has arrived in the destination country when it has not, in order to placate you. The only reason I gave a rating of one star is because I had to give some sort of a rating in order to post. If it were possible to award a negative Star rating I would do so without hesitation..!! Ok so let me summarize....June12 my barrel was picked up and I was told it would arrive in the Dominican Republic in 2 to 3 weeks give or take, end of June, beginning of July...I know these shipping companies like to overstate, so I told myself 2 to 3 weeks really means 4 to 6 weeks, which I was ok with...Long story short, I found out that my barrel had been sitting, at Trans Caribe Express Shippers in East Orange NJ for more than a month during which time I was now being told....yeah, it will arrive on the 17th of July, they will check the contents and then deliver to the address ...LIES....Today is 07/30/2021, I just spoke to the shipping liaison in the Dominican Republic and they tell me the barrel is still in transit and wont arrive at port until next week and THEN it will be several weeks before it is delivered because deliveries to certain municipalities are only during specific weeks..so it looks like end of August...................................................Maybe. I hope this prevents someone, anyone, from experiencing what I have from this Terrible company... I know, I know...I should have checked the reviews before using them...Well, thats why I wrote this, to help someone else...!!
Disappointment is not the word. I wanted to be proud of a black-owned business. Shipped a barrel of books for a public library that I am building in Haiti . They did not disclose that they do not ship to the address that is on the contract even though they emphasized that you place the address with the name of the consignee on the barrel. As they say « walk good. »
Good Morning, I want to send a big thanks to Mr. Oniel aka Barrel man. He was very reliable on time and professional with picking up my barrels. I got my barrels in Jamaica on time for the holiday and the price was fair compare to others. The office in Jamaica was very responsive with my follow up phone calls, shared the final costing price for barrels at Wharf in Jamaica so I can be prepared with the amount of money to bring. There were no surprises. I will be using this company again. Big up yourself and continue doing a great job serving your customers.

This is my first time using this company and it will be my last! As soon as they collect your shipment and your money, they ignore you as if you are not suppose to check up on your shipment. They tell you 4 weeks but it’s really 10 weeks!! They don’t know how to build trust with their customers! They save your name and number so they know when to ignore you but if you try calling them with a strange number, they will pick the call. No wonder people can never trust Jamaicans. Worst shipping experience ever!!!
They did not disclose that the receiver has to pay when the shipment arrives, this would be intop of what the sender already paid! When I brought this up trans caribe said there is nothing we can do about it. I would not recommend them they do not give you all the information and full cost up front!
When you call and ask for a price they dont tell you that they are giving you a quote. They give you a price and when drivers arrived to pick up your package in which as a customer you have to be Pacific to the customer .one of the drive had a attitude like a customer is not suppose to ? About There services. The manager dont have a professional experience .dealing with a jamaican run business is the worst in America. I will not recommend this company to no one.

Very professional staff. Everyone was so helpful, patient and understanding. It was my first time sending a barrel and they made it so easy for me. The ladies in the store was so kind and helpful and the gentlemen in the warehouse as well. Had wonderful conversations with them while there and they explained so much to be about the business of shipping. I would ship with them again for sure.

Do Not Used This Shipping Company!!!. I repeat do not used this shipping company!!! Took forever to received my barrel and when the barrel finally arrived all the goods in my barrel were damaged. Also the barrel was wet when I received it. Called to fine out whats the reason for me receiving a damaged barrel but instead got hung up on. Extremely unprofessional wont be using this company again and have advised all my family and friends in New Jersey against using them. You could get better treatment by trusting a reputable shipping company with yours goods. Should have trusted my instinct when I found out there was not one review of them online. Also the barrel wasnt damaged in the destination country because I got a call to pick up my barrel the same day it arrived. Trans caribe doesnt have a proper place to store your barrel so it will get destroyed.

I have been using TransCaribe since 2009. My barrel more or less arrives on time. However, I learnt that I have to take in consideration events that may not be under the control of TransCaribe, such as weather conditions or events occurring at the Port of Departure/Arrival. I usually time my drop off like a month before to ensure it will arrive within my schedule. And so far, the personnel I have dealt with are professionals.
***Please Note: I will update my experience when I receive my items.***I went to their office to drop off my boxes (three of them with household items). They had just opened and was quick to unload and get paper work done. I, then, had to go to the main office location to get the paperwork completed and to pay.I emailed the office several times beforehand, and they did not tell me that I should have gone to the main office. They said I could go to either one. Had I known that, I would have just gone to the one office instead of two.I have door to door service. They told me I should receive my items within 2 1/2 weeks.***Will update in 2 1/2 weeks***Items arrived about a week later than expected. They first said June 19; and I got my items on June 27. The main office replied to my emails quickly and I felt that they tried their best to keep me informed at all times. Technically it wasnt door to door as I mentioned before, but I dropped off the boxes at their office. However, they brought my boxes right to my apartment in Puerto Plata Dominican Republic. Boxes came very beat up, but I figured that much. They were probably opened and looked in - but I had a detailed list of all the items in each box and it seems like all items are there.... plus two roaches :( But that is not their fault. Just be aware that you may want to open boxes outside, just in case. I would recommend them again and will probably use them again.

I went to ship a box to SABA (island I was born & raised located next to St.Maarten) The front desk lady was very helpful, friendly, informative & even offered to arrange their guy on board to help lift my box out of my car. I had a superb experience and I intend to go back in the future.

Unreliable my barrel and commercial bin was delayed 2 weeks. It was supposed to arrive on the 18th dec. They left a VM saying its still in Miami. Will get to SLU on the 2nd Jan.

Bought 2 brand new barrels realized I got the wrong size took it back 3 days later and the guy didnt let me exchange them for bigger barrels I would have paid for the difference. I guess thieves have to make money some how. They made the rule on the spot of no returns. So unprofessional
