I was a loyal customer until I sent my wife to make a few keys at his store. He was very disrespectful to my wife and he will not see another penny from me. He cuts keys the traditional way. This is the only reason I gave him my business. The store is old and gloomy and he is very chatty. He never gave me any problems but on the strength of my wife and her experience I will not return.

Great store. A true hardware store with so much more! Quick story. Tried having keys made at several places (Lowe’s, Home Depot and another local hardware store) for my Front door lock to my house (schlage). None worked. Went here to this store after a recommendation, and had keys made there. I don’t know if it’s the machine he uses or his technique. All the keys work with no problem. Had several other great experiences there. Great place!

Avoid. We went to get hooks and wanted to support local businesses. Asked if the hooks could hold a certain weight and Owner flipped out. He didn’t know the answer so instead of saying so started mouthing off about “he’s been in business for 55 years and never heard such a dumb question”. We basically walked out with him saying “stupid question, stupid people”.

The owner, Jim is very knowledgeable if you need something..he usually has it or will try to get it for you. He is Honest and a True Gentleman! Have gone to this store since the 70s. Local Business that I stil go to.

Great old main st hardware, you can find many things you cant find elsewhere.
