If I could set this to zero stars, I would. This has been my neighborhood go to store for 10 years but that ended yesterday. I have watch the service slowly erode over time. The store is junky, not stocked well, and the customer service is deplorable.I went in looking for two items. No associates near by to assist me so I went towards the checkout where two associates were engaged in conversation. I stood there until one noticed me and asked if I needed help. I replied that I did, and they both stood there waiting for me to yell across the store what I needed ...instead of approaching me. Then pointed to the area behind me and said the item was over there. I stated what the second item was and she told me what aisle I could find it and someone would come over to unlock the cabinet. Well, that never happened so I went up to the checkout and asked to see a manger. The associate wanted to know why. I told her it was in regards to customer service. She looked around, mumbled something about she didnt know where the manager was. I asked if she could call the manager on her walkie, she held the mouthpiece in her hand but didnt call anyone but mumbled again. She said if I would wait she would help me. This was the same person who did not approach me earlier and expected me to yell out at her. I repeated that I wanted to speak to a manager, and she ignored me to address another customer. Thats when I walked out...and wont return. I went to the Berkeley location and received impeccable service in their very clean, organized, and well stocked store.

Their copy center is incredibly slow and the people staffing it dont know how to work the equipment. I have been there 4 times and have gotten slow, incompetent service each time. On 3 of these occasions, Ive had to wait until they could find someone to show them how to use the large format printer. Service, price and speed are far better at Kinkos on San Pablo.

Jen Swift in the copy center is always my go-to person. My company prints a lot of items through their copy and print center, and Jen always helps with a smile. I miss her on the days she has off, but she saves me on a regular basis!Thanks for all your hard work Jen!

Pretty good place to look for buying chairs, plenty you can try out and you can get free shipping if they dont have that chair in stock.

Very bad customer service in the copy center; I had too many horrible experience there. The Supervisor/ Manager name Christina is not upbeat at all; she doesnt have a genuine smile; shes not very friendly & she needs to be trained on all aspects of Customer Service. I dont normal post complains but this it is. I was on the phone on hold for 25 minutes, then Someone hung up on me; call back several times. Never again will I go there & give they my money...

Extremely bad service at the copy center. I placed an order on the phone, and was promised that it should be done within 2 hours. 2 hours later, I called them again to check if it was done, but they said that they never even received my order. The guy that I spoke with hung up on me in the middle of a sentence. I tried to place the order one more time (I really needed that poster printed!), but the same thing happened again! When I called them back to check the status, they had forgotten about my order once more. On top of this, all three persons that I talked to had rude and nonchalant attitudes.

As a Director of a call center, and my company uses Staples, I am very surprised and dissapointed in this particular store. I resided in Sacramento, CA and went to your store on Truxel Blvd for 3 years and never had any issues. However at the El Cerrito store, On 03/02/2013 I went to return a pair of Ludacris Soul Headphones which I bought for my son. I originally bought the headphones in Sacramento, CA. On 03/02/2013I drove my son to the El Cerrito store, gave him my debit card, and my pin. My son was then told that he would have to go to the Sacramento store, or wait untill Monday when a Manager was in. Not happy with that answer, I went into the store and grabbed the first associate I saw, and asked Would their manager be in on Monday. She said yes, and I said ok, I will be back since I no longer live in Sacramento. The worst part of this story is when went back today Monday, there were two managers on duty. The first was a very rude woman who refused to give her name, and she also said to me that my receipt was not clear. It was very legible, and not faded. The very rude manager said We cant tell how you paid for this item, You need to call Sacramento to see what they can do for you I stated this is axactly what I was given as a receipt, as I purchased a pair of Ludacris headphones for $50.00, and returned then 15 minutes later to get the more expensive ones for $79.99. Then that manager walked away with an attitude, another manager named Brent or Brett grilled me as to who told me/my son to come back on Monday or go to sacramento for the exchange. He then told me i lied and no one with my description works there. I was talked down to, I had to continue to remind the manager (of all people) I am not his employee, I am not yelling at him or cursing. i continued to state i am a customer not a ghetto person who is trying to steal. I held up my end of the bargain, if the associate could not process my return on the correct day, why am I getting punished?????

They really dont know the term Customer Service. Now if youre thinking why did I put 2 starts its because they have to many things and they keep the store clean, how ever most of them isnt in stocked up.

Served by Jennifer Swift in the copy & print center. She was flying solo, multi-tasking and got still got my kinda tricky project handled pronto.

Worst staff Ive ever come across.... Racist little white manager and ignorant staff think everyone who comes in is a thief... No form of customer service. Rude and abrasive for no reason. Dont come here.

This store has tremendously bad copy center service. Bad attitudes, unfriendly, complaining about their jobs while customers are around. Switching to the Pinole store....

Dont expect any miracles but its a decent staples.
