I tried to have two vehicles worked on their but the first I sold b4 taking it their. The 2nd repaired itself as we left. But everytime they were great in dealing with. And you can tell by the amount of cars waiting for service and the two week wait for appointments.
Great place, not at the top of the mark but close. Price is at the top end of medium range. The quality and speed of the service was great. I was treated well and very respectful. So 4 outta 5 is fair and accurate.
Great place especially for RVers i got my 37 ft in and they were finished in no time with my smog, I can highly recommend to all my RV friends and family, Will Ad this place on RV Tips to help other travelers passing thru they offer other services as well,Thank you to staff
Great crew! They resolved my issues in a reasonable amount of time. I would go there again!
This is a great shop! Go here!
They see the big picture as well as the task at hand. I brought in a vintage car that needed to pass smog visual inspection. Parts were hard to find. They made some of them. There were additional safety issues that they brought to my attention and I had blocked out of my mind, because I didnt think they could be addressed within budget. I thought they could wait. They showed how much worse the situation was than I knew, and helped to resolve all the issues for a very reasonable price. This was all done within four days. All I can say is: Incredible. They know their business, and they appeared to really enjoy the challenge (along with me) of making it all work out well. Beautiful! Thank you.
Just had basic SmogTest. While waiting, found office decor taking me back in time.....quite interesting.
Great team, great service!
Excellent service and work.
Great mechanics and pretty reasonably priced. Very honest about what They can do, or not do or did with your car. Theyve fixed some pretty messed up cars for me over the years.
Dropped my car off to them in july 2020 to have all functions checked only work they did was alternator, battery and telling me why it was hard to get started a week later they call me in I came and picked it up paid $1,500 after they did mostly estimates of what needed to be fixed which I fixed more reasonably elsewhere here it is Aug 2020 and its not starting again I called them they say bring it in then tells me it will be $268 to look at it and I asked why would I pay that when I already paid $1,520 for this to have already been fixed last month while there repairs were still under warranty then he agrees to look at it for free so they checked it and quoted me for something that was supposed to have already been fixed do not go here for anything they are money hungry ridicoulous they will have you paying for estimates at anywhere between $140-$178 per hour a dealer does not charge that much go elswhere estimates should not be charged by the hour
They were able to get me in right away and get the Jeep SUV running. They also went through it thoroughly and fixed everything else that needed attention. This is a very professional group of mechanics. Moreover, I have used them on and off for 20 years and they are always honest, competent and efficient. I highly recommend them.
Friendly staff. My vehicles performance has improved since the visit to ghe shop.
When you need work done on your vehicle you can count on them to take care of it. They are helpful, courteous and professional. Been going there for quite some time and always been satisfied with results.
Honest & timely.Great service with reasonable rates.I highly recommend this place!
I do not recommend this place. They over book and under perform, all talk and no action. I brought my vehicle in the night before to be serviced by the afternoon for a simple oil change and visual inspection. I came to the facility at around 11:30a and the vehicle hadnt been touched. Call back at 3 oclock and the same story. These people totally waisted my time and my day. I will think twice before returning. Wow! They say they are community focused, and value their customers like family, far from it, sure wasnt my experience.
Ive gone there for 15 years, even though I moved across the bridge. I made an appointment for an oil change for the RV and had my brother drive 20 miles there. They told them they wouldnt do it because it was raining. Id say its sprinkling, but they wont get anymore of my business! They must be making too much money if they turn away repeat business.
They did such a wonderful job fixing and servicing my car. My headlights needed to be cleaned and they made them look brand new! Everyone there is so nice and helpful.
Steve and his crew was great. First visit here today but he made me feel as if i was a long time customer. One thing for sure ill be coming back and recommend to all my friends. Thank you for squeezing me in on a tight schedule.. 😎👍P.s. check out their alignment rack 1st one ive seen thats flush on the ground great for lowered, slam cars!
Awesome service, and good work at a very fair price. Highly recommend this shop.
Beware of classic unnecessary up-selling here. I believe these guys are desperate in the COVID situation. Would not finish alignment due to “frozen tie rods” and quoted me $700 for alignment and tie rods. I had my technician that I have been using for five years show me this is not true. Crazy.
My 95 jeep kept dying. They charged me quite a bit to diagnose. Then told me to replace entire distributer over 600 bucks. Still died, they told me the cars computer was too old and didnt provide any info. Got a Haynes manual shows how to pull error codes from computer just by turning key three times. Error code shows crank position sensor bad, $16 part. Not cool guys, cant recommend them until they make this right......
Excellent service. Very glad to have Burroughs & Sons as my go-to mechanics.
I have been going to Burroughs & Sons for 18 years, the work is Quality and they are very Professional
I hope they don’t treat their customers like they treat vendors. They hired my firm to provide training for them and just before we were to start they canceled on us, very last minute. No explanation at all. No integrity at all.
You have many choices one experiences when their cars having trouble you can go to your dealership and pay through the nose for obviously qualified personnel that know what theyre doing 2nd choice is pick a mechanic randomly without any background and hope for the best badd choice burrows and sons had been in business over 30 years here in El Sobrante they are very well qualified their shop is immaculately clean every night all the cars are put inside the building and lock securely their lot as always swept and decent and clean their extremely important value to our environment the people are friendly knowledgeable and can take care of almost anything unless ot is older than a 1995. This requires a real mechanic not just a young kid that reads the OBD 2 computer. My truck had a rough running engine and they replaced part after part after part charged me $500 and that did not fix the vibration. Then Steve said he would need to change the O2 sensor and change the oil and filter so it would pass smog. This he said would cost me another $500. I know enough about cars as I built my race car motor to know when you are being taken for a ride. $500 just to switch an O2 sensor? That part was $49 at O Riley and 5 qt oil and filter $30. I took it to my regular smog shop and passed and it runs great. It took me 15 min to replace the O2 sensor and 20 min to change the oil and $60 for smog test. $ 140 vs $500Thanks but for $500 I will never trust them again.
Greats repair shop. Reasonably priced, do quality work and dont push services on you. Suggest additional repairs, but work with you on estimates and alternatives.
Scammers. They will up sell you, do unnecessary work, do shoddy quality work to make you come back, damage or loosen other components to make you come back. Charged 50 dollars to repair a lightbulb that was functional before bringing the car in. Charge you 150 dollars for a part that cost 50 dollars. Avoid Steve, he seems shady and will lie to you about parts.
Good service!
An awesome shop that treats you like family. They made me feel very secure in having my Jaguar worked on.
Great people great service
Had to get STAR station SMOG according to DMV. Burrough handled the SMOG certificate well. They were able to do while you wait yey. Their shop is well taken care of and plenty of places to park.
25 years ago this was the trusted local auto repair place to go in El Sobrante. My father went as I did myself, but in recent years I would not go to this place, as my father stop himself after they repaired his radiator, he drove 2 miles, car broke down because they messed with the electrical (whats that got to do with the radiator?), then he brought the car back to Burrough, and then they tried to charge him for an anogstic test and electrical work. This place is borderline shady. Very questionable about their practices and pricing. I wouldnt take my truck to Borrough even if the oil changes were free. One of my many experiences with Borrough & shady Sons, they tried to charge me over $1000 for a tune-up with basic stock parts. Their prices are similar to a dealership so why would I go to Borrough? So, I broke down the cost, bought high end parts instead (including distributor cap and wiring, total $100), and got another mechanic down the road to do the tune-up for $150. Total cost: $250.Avoid this place, seek mechanic work elsewhere, or purchase higher quality parts and do it yourself.
Theyre good in the business of fixing and advising on your car
Awesome service, fantastic customer support. Tom is a rare find - an honest man!
Extremely professional and friendly
Great service and coustomer service
Too expensive. Their quote was more than the dealer
Super over priced, but if you need it in a hurry, they will sure try! $$$$$
