A shop Mechanic changed a tire for mebut he did not check to see if the tube was pinched under the tire, instead he installed it improperly and sent me riding on it.Later on it blew off the rim when I fully inflated it-It deformed my rim when it blew off and left a big hole in the tube- I was lucky it did not happen while I was riding. They seem nice but I cannot risk trusting them again.

Let first say Im that person who always reads reviews but I never write them. After going to El Sobrante Cyclery I found it very important to share my experience. El Sobrante Cyclery was the third bicycle shop I went to in search of a adult bike. I had not biked or own a bike in over 10 years and it was a simple Schwinn bike. They were very patient with me as they asked me questions about the kind of biking I planned to do showed me a nice selection of bikes. I did not buy a bike that day but returned 3 days later with my husband, 18 year son and 20 year old daughter and we bought 4 bikes. The staff took their time with each of us They know bikes and are so kind and helpful. This should have been the first bike shop I went to and my family and I love our bikes.

Just moved to the area and needed a quick inner tube change before exploring the area. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to get my bike serviced because of the temporary 5 repairs a day policy (covid), but they immediately greeted me and changed the tube in less than ten minutes! It was honestly the fastest, cheapest, and nicest bike shop I’ve ever been to. They also have a cool selection of unicycles, tandem bikes, and vintage low riders. Definitely making this ~ my ~ bike shop.

I do not recommend this shop for repairs.Recently I took in my bike for a new tube installation, returned 3 hours later to find out my gear system was tampered with. I complained and they denied.When I showed proof of my last service date with the “Pedler Bike” (competitor) located at the same street the manager took me inside the repair room and replaced it.He became so friendly, very talkative, took his time to search for the swapped lower-speed-gear set and fixed it for free.My best guess why it was initially stolen would be; that they somewhat convinced themselves that I could not afford the bike and would not notice a change.I am not satisfied with the change he made because since then, my bicycle now experiences difficultly transitioning to the lowest gear while in motion.

I could have someone who speaks Spanish to meet the Latinos who dont speak English very well

I don’t recommend this place to anyone. People who works in this place are very unhelpful and rude. Please don’t go to this. They are lot more better bike shop around.

I love this place! I remember taking my bikes there 20 years ago and the customer service is still just as great as it used to be. I went in there today looking for a new mountain bike. They were very busy but immediately started helping me. The guy that help me somehow took me straight to the bike I ended up buying. He knew exactly what I wanted and I’m extremely happy with my new bike!!

I remember coming to this place as a kid, buying tons of upgrades for my bikes way back. So when my youngest son wanted a new (real) bike, it was one of the first places that came to mind. When I saw they were still open there was no question. We made a 45min trip just to look.The service is still great, very knowledgable staff, and they have every part and accessory you would need. ( yes, we did buy a bike )

After shopping at Mikes Bikes and The Peddler in El Sobrante I bought my wife a new Schwinn. The staff went out of their way to customize the fit to her as she is only 5ft. The sells staff and mechanics are very helpful and friendly. I am very happy with them.

A good specialist bike shop. They sell used bikes as well. I go here for basic kid bike stuff, but they have a lot of speciality stuff here.

I took my rear wheel to replace my rear axle and they put the wrong size when I put it on my bike it didn’t fit therefore I can’t even ride it.Employees are very unfriendly I guess they don’t like their job.It is westing time and moneyI don’t recommend it to anybody.

We were leaving town for the weekend, headed to Fort Bragg. It had been a long time since I rode my bike, and we stopped here on our way out of town for a new tube for my back tire. Come to find out, I needed a whole new tire, and tube. $25 and 5 minutes later we were on our way. Couldnt have been more happy to support a local bike shop and so impressed with the speed and prices. Thanks guys! Our weekend on our bikes was great!
