Unfortunately, both of the employees that were working today do not know what they are doing regarding firearms sales. We were there for a PPT and they stated that the seller MUST have a certified birth certificate or passport to sell a privately owned firearm. According to the DOJ the seller DOES NOT need to supply any other form of ID than a CDL, even if the CDL states Federal Limits Apply. The law states that ONLY the buyer must supply such materials. This is not the first time I have had problems with The Gun Room. I will not be returning.

The range is nice although the staff that work there are a little know it all rude, never purchased anything from the store as the prices were a little high for what I was looking for.

First time here for me and my son. Super friendly and helpful staff. Very nice climate controlled range. Was a great time but shooting with my son is always a great time.

I’ve been visiting The Gun Room for years. It’s a one stop shop for target practice, purchasing gear, guns, safety certificates, transferring ownership, and I’m sure many other things. I recently completed my second transfer here. Honestly I don’t think they even get a damn thing from doing this aside from having to storage my gun for 10 days and filling out a bunch of paperwork. Yet every experience I’ve had they’ve been friendly, easy-going, and very knowledgeable. I have nothing but great things to say about this business. It’s always a pleasure to visit. I pretty much emulated this review from the one I wrote on Yelp a few month ago. But I do want to add one thing. I read a few reviews about racism from the staff. I’ve never gotten this impression at all. I’m Mexican, born in Mexico and became an American citizen long ago. We even talked briefly about it because I was transferring a gun that was to be used for my CCW. The guys and gal that assisted were all wonderful.

*LAW ENFORCEMENT REVIEW*A fellow officer from my division mentioned he had the same problem as I did at the Gun Room.When you arrive, they have sign in sheet on a clip board that sits on the front counter. Date, time, first and last name, drive license number, signature, and lane number. As a Police Officer or even civilian, it is unsafe to just leave your information laying around. A driver license number is very sensitive information and should be confidential. At no time should anyone who is NOT an employee be able to see this information. When I asked the guy at the counter if I could leave this blank, he stated no and that was information I need to provide before I could shoot. I had no problem providing that information, I just didnt want it to be publicly available. Since I failed to input it on their public sheet, my son and I were unable to shoot. Ive sent out a mass email to fellow officers to bring their family and friends somewhere else as their information is not protected. And if you work for another agency or you just dont like your information out there, BE AWARE.

I was happy with every aspect of this place. HUGE selection of guns and ammunition. Im a big fan of indoor ranges so that was a plus. Every person in the store was able to help with any question I had, and willing to answer as well. It seems compared to other reviews maybe I went on a good day? But I will definitely go back there again.

Nice place to shoot. The lanes are always available. A little more freedom than other shooting ranges I would say which I like.

Great handgun range open 10 am to 10 pm. Friendly staff so long as you are following the range rules. I have not bought much from the store half (open 12 to 8) but every time Ive gone in to window shop, Ive found the staff there friendly and helpful as well.

Clean range and very friendly staff. Yesterday was my first day at their range and the guy at the counter treated me with excellent customer service. Asked him general questions about the range, safety rules, and general handgun questions. He was very informative and friendly and offered me some advice. Went in the evening and practically had one side of the range to myself. I do plan on returning since I live close to this range.

Im a regular at the range and these people have always been friendly. Ive never had to wait on a waiting list. I really wish they were open Mondays though.

For some reason the employees here both range and store have really bad attitudes/rude I have been coming here for years now and I gotta tell you I no longer wanna do business here ever again. I warn anyone reading this its not such a bad place but dont expect the employees to be professional/friendly at all you would be better off going to any other store to buy or do transfers at.

This is strictly a review of how they are handling the Covid 19 pandemic. The employees appear to be friendly but there is no enforcement or requirement to wear a mask or social distance. They pack them in like sardines in the range. The employees themselves do not wear a mask/face covering.

Decent range, and Id shoot there again if I was going with friends, but a lot of big egos work there. I asked a friendly, simple question at the store counter (not a dumb question, either) and I was responded to like I was an idiot. Smug eye-roll and all. No thanks.

I have shot everywhere (outdoor and indoor) in Northern CA and in the Bay Area; this place is just fine. All Ranges have extremely strict safety regulations - IT IS A GUN! not a golf club.No I do not work here but I shot here twice a month when I lived in Elk Grove. I still stop by to shoot when Im working in the South and have time to kill before driving up to Roseville. And YES you can shoot SHOTGUNS HERE which is not the case everywhere else I go.They also close at 10 pm for us commuters it is nice.BTW: What is an illegal Hot load in a 44 Mag steel jacketed?Edited review for length - still a great place to shoot.

Ive been there once, the guy in the front seemed annoyed that we were on a budget. I was there with my sister who is new to shooting and we only had about $65 to spend. When we said we needed ear plugs he responded, Let me guess, you want the cheapest ones. The selection isnt really that great, either. As apposed to other ranges, they only have handguns for rentals, and even those are a bit limited. It was really the way he said it that sort of put me off. The only reason Im giving this place two stars instead of one is because he let us rent the handgun even though Im only 19. My sister is 26 but I guess this range has a You have to have 2 adults ages 21 and up policy if you want someone under the age of 21 to be able to use rented handguns. I thought this was strange because usually I go with my brother in law and weve rented guns from other places without that stupid policy.Anyways, the bottom line is that I wont be going back there nor would I recommend anyone else to. The staff is a little rude, the selection is crap, and there better ranges nearby.

Pro:It is a place to shoot handguns legally.No rifles blasting away with muzzle brakes 1 lane over from handguns.Con:Indoor range still manages to be sweltering hot in the summerIf the range is packed and you & a friend agree to share a lane, you both still pay full price.Target hangers are old fashioned clothesline-type that bounce around for 5 minutesNo pre-set range settings for the target carriers and the range Distance markings on the floor are faded into obscurity in the center lanesAmmo prices are high (as youd expect from most ranges)

Good, very good selection of long guns, good selection of handguns (mainly semis), friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Indoor Range had 16 lanes, somewhat loud even with ears, just OK lighting. Rentals $10 - had huge selection of Glocks, not much in other .40s or .45s. Pretty long wait for range, maybe 45 minutes/18 people when we got there Sunday noon... worth it though since it was raining. I will come back. Not rude at all, and answered newbie questions just fine. Ive heard their prices on buying guns is higher than others, but their range fees+ targets fine.

Me and my family were so excited to come here to shoot. My brother has been a long customer here and he has brought many of his friends. My brother brought us here with my younger sister who is 14. My brother is a legal guardian of my little sister but the lady with her hair tied back who was wearing glasses told us that it had to be a parent present with her. I checked the website and I quote, We require all minors to be accompanied by a Parent/ Legal Guardian and have a Parental Release Form filled out. I am disappointed. This is NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY, Im not surprised to see it is empty and I wouldnt recommend you to come here especially with ANY MINORS unless you have a parent present with you, the website has false information or that employee was LYING.

I came here to pick up a gun I already purchased. Got in around 12:30 and since there is only 2 sales people the line hasnt moved. They have really really slow people working here who dont seem to know what they r doing. Waiting is not a problem for me, but when u see people who look lost behind the counters thats another thing. An hour in and the sales people r still trying to complete dros on a handgun for someone.

The staff are not quick to come up to you but I like that. I will ask when I am ready.They were certainly ready to answer any questions and were efficient in processing all of the dumb paperwork.The range next door is a great place if you have to shoot indoors.

Been to the gun room a few times. The range is really good. The staff for the range is friendly. The last time I was at the store, all the guns were gone. the wall was completely empty, I know we had a rush on firearms but this was unbelievable, while other stores had some inventory. I also asked if they had some Ar15, or AR308s and they said they dont sell those kinds of firearms in the store because they are illegal. Not true, other stores sell them, why dont they? If they supported gun owners they would also sell those firearms. Overall I wont go back to that store unless they start selling AR15s.

After coming to this range for the last few years I can say they treat you well and are friendly. The rules are the rules. If you want to rapid fire and you see that LEOS can and you cant. Then become law enforcement. I would rather be in a room where others are practicing safety. When so many out there are new to this world of firearms. The prices are a little high on the retail side. If you dont like the prices then shop around as I do for the best price. Ive done transfers here and every time its been a good experience.

Really have gotten disappointed with the Gun Room. Their service has really dropped from 2017 to 2018. The chubby young man behind the counter is always very rude and attempts to school unsuspecting people about the law, of which he is neither a defender or officer of, not to mention, he knows no law. The range is very loud even with high quality muffs on, lighting is very cave like, and they have to address the multitude of broken target hangers and non functional lanes. In a Free State, a range like this wouldn’t last long. For desperate Kommiefornias, this is one of those places you must suck it up in order to go to. I’m currently attempting to find a new range to give my business to.

Gun Range Review: The young guy behind the counter was rude and unprofessional. He asked me to read the rules, (which is not a problem) but I just had a quick look through just to see what I was reading. Thats when the employ grabbed the chart out on my hand and demanded that I tell him what the first rule was. I told him I didnt know yet and to knock off his attitude. Long story short, I asked to see his manager. The manager was just a rude and disrespectful as the employ was and nothing was done to correct the situation. Ive been here before and it will definitely be my last

Bad customer service and horrible attitude.I purchase a savage bolt action .22 LR at Gun Room and take it to the rage to testing. First round not pulling the shell out try up to 5 round dose the same. Take it back to Gun Room talk to a supervisor in-charge, he say they going to charge me $75 shipping to savage arm I understand the shipping cost but what the hell he still charge $35 fee. What a ripe off Business all hes gun are not safety to buy and not taking care of hes customer. Every gun should be testing 10 round make sure all function is working properly before selling. All my family and friend will not buy anything from Gun Room again.

Went to purchase my first gun and was met with rude and racist service was denied being able to purchase a gun due to the fact that I wasn’t white and didn’t look like I belonged before trying to purchase I would ask questions and was given one word replies while the gentlemen next to me recieved full descriptions and prompt answers I guess a young Mexican with a hoody and a hat on isn’t allowed in the store I was also lied to when trying to purchase a firearm by being told the DOJ was down I left and went to three other gun stores and asked them about this and was told by all three that it wasn’t down and hasn’t been but that there is also ways around it if they really wanted to make the sale I bought my first firearm that day at a great place racism and profiling is real in this store

They are rude and unprofessional. Waited 30 min for service. Made eye contact with a few of the employees and was ignored. They are over priced. Terrible selection. All the pistol and rifle cases were cheap quality. The only reason I went there is for a ppt. Otherwise go across the street to wild bills!

Went into TGR today to do a PTP DROS. Their was only ONE other customer in the roomI was told that I was third in line for a PTP DROS. Their were what appeared to be TWO employees. The much older employee appeared to be totally indefferent to serving me and my friend. After about 20 minutes another two people came in to do a PTP DROS. The old guy with the beard clearly tried to talk them out the door.We decided to go over to Wild Bills and were greeted as welcome customers.

We decided to choose this place for a fun girly event. It was my first time at this location and I didnt know a place like this was very close to my neighborhood. The have a set of rules you have to read and sign. And you need to purchase the eye goggles, ear piece, target piece and pay for the gun rental depending on the one you decide to choose.Since it was our first time, they showed us how to load our gun and gave us strict instructions on the dos and donts. I highly recommend girls not to go there in heels. The most suitable shoe will be closed toe and non slippery. Few girls in my group were wearing high heels and non-slippery and it could be dangerous while shooting.They have a vending machine there.A fun place for anyone to check out.

Indoor range SUCKS! Poor ventilation and the AC sucks so bad that at 84 outside it was Cooler outside than in the range. Dont waste your money. We were there less than 45 minutes and couldnt tolerate the haze or the heat and there were only 4 lanes being used. LAME

They use a 1 second between shots rule, the police that havent been banned from there still walk in and go nuts firing off a entire mag splashing rounds everywhere.They should ban the entire police force from there they are poorly mannered and dangerous.An idiots paradise as evidence by multiple bullet holes in the bench area and in the shooting booths.

First range I ever visited & the range I still practice at. I shopped for & purchased my first handgun here with the help of the knowledgeable staff.

Went to shoot there, will never go again. Felt interogated by man a desk, and range was crowded. Let guy shooting illgal HOT rounds from a .44 shoot next to us. No insulation so all the room did was reverberate. He was shooting steel jacketed ammo that was exploding off the back wall and surely he should have been pulled. No place to layout weapons for cleanup after, very little space in actual shooting area. Not a place to practice, just to throw rounds down range. Dark with VERY POOR VENTILATION

Nice gun store but the range is so so, they need to re paint the range lines and do something about all the ricochets I ended up being hit by one and sweeping a dozen more when I left

2 of us used 1 lane for an hour, were charged 17@2=34.00 . Too expensive. Everything else was ok.
