Great selection of coffees and coffee drinks. They know their stuff. Very friendly staff.

Had a take-away flat white, and the coffee was strong with great aftertaste. Right after the coffee I went to the other side of the street to buy a bag of “Keeping it Classy Espresso” whole beans. Hopefully it tastes as good as this one!

Not a bad place. Good service. But their espresso is extremely sour to my taste. I prefer Italian style

Lofty is a delightful spot to have a coffee. They have two locations in Encinitas across the street from each other. I love going to the roasters, as you are able to view out at the Coast Hwy from above! Great coffee! If you want food though, the other location would be the spot!

Best coffee in north county without question! Besides the coffee, they have organic food and house made pastries. It is often busy and you’ll often see a line, but it is worth a stop anyway. Grab yourself some of their poached eggs and chicken sausage. The chocolate chip cookies are pretty darned good, too ;)

Very nice and welcoming cofe shop. We got greated with a smile, little things like that separates some of these coffee shops around here. My latte was made to my liking. Clean simple and fast. Great job will add to my favorites list

Pretty bad experience today had to remind them of our order a few times.

The coffee was excellent. Best ive had in a week here in Cali. The Farro bowl was tasty as well (for how healthy it is). I liked how many vegan options there are and the service was good. Good ambience. Only negative is it is pricey but its normal for a place like this.

I Heard of this place for my friend because we are visiting Encinitas, he said this is great coffee and food, when we got there I was super excited because they had a gluten-free option for French toast and poached eggs, I ordered my coffee and my eggs with my mother, my mother got the poached eggs and a decaf oat milk latte. When our food came the French toast was barely fluffy and it tasted like nuts and it was very dense I can’t even start about the coffee because their decaf was absolutely terrible, my mother couldn’t even drink the rest of her coffee.

Staff was talking to friends and not paying attention to online orders, I let the girl know at the bar that I had an online order she said it is almost ready. I waited for my food for 15min past the pick up time and finally asked another girl where my order was? She went to the back, then came back out to find my food was just sitting on the counter for god knows how long. Not impressed.Going to Petes coffee next time.

The acai bowl and iced hibiscus tea is perfect for a morning recharge.

An on-site coffeehouse with a roaster is noticeable in every sip of my latte I had. Support local businesses and go have a cup of amazing!!

Lovely little place within walking distance to Moonlight Beach. It can get a bit crowded but usually there’s a place to sit even during busy hours. The coffee is good but the food and service is inconsistent. The last couple of times we’ve been here we received the wrong order and at some point the tomato slices came with some worm or larva nest. Not the type of extra protein you’re looking for in a vegan dish.

Loved the hummus avocado toast BUT ordered it again and only received half the order. When I called, they told me I ordered gluten free bread, NEVER! LOLSo, they said someone made a mistake. The mistake is paying $10 for ONE piece of toast!!!!

It must be something amazing if East County residents working in the North detour specifically to Encinitas for an Aztec Mocha or Turkish Latte. You have a wonderful place. Good treats. Hope to actually sit for a spell and enjoy them there, sometime in 2021!

They have the best gluten free panini in SD. Their Turkish coffee is also delicious.

Lofty Coffee is a hands down must go to whenever you are in SoCal. The service has always been outgoing, offers recommendations, and knowledgeable about their food and beverages. For someone who needs milk alternative options they make their own almond milk and hazelnut milk which you can order for an up charge. They also provide GF food options. Ive tried the GF banana nut muffin and chocolate chip cookie and both were enjoyable.

This coffee shop spoils me. Im fortunate enough to live across the street and they set the bar waaaay high. I always end up disappointed anywhere else.Organic everything, best smoothest coffee, favorite cold brew, housemade nut milks, awesome tea selection, delicious salads and pasties.Ill break it down and give you the local secret... when line is uber long, make the mad dash across street to their roasting location. So quiet and peaceful over, rarely a line. But no to go cups, limited menu. And only open 9-4.

Coffee is meh, food is good. But the staff is SO SLOW and doesn’t get orders right. I’ve tried 3 times because they’re right around the corner from me but it’s been enough bad experiences that I don’t go here anymore.

Best Coffee I’ve had since moving to San Diego. I tried their single origin espresso option as a shot and a macchiato(I believe it was Ethiopian but I can’t remember for sure.) It was smooth and sweet. A little tangy, but balanced and not bitter. The macchiato was good, but the espresso was so sweet and smooth it didn’t really punch through even that small amount of milk. That’s to be expected though, most other roasters and shops I’ve been to here have been pretty dark with their roasts or over extracted with their espresso but that wasn’t the case at Lofty. I’ll definitely be coming back and hopefully picking up some beans to take home with me.

Outdoor seating and bike friendly! They have some cool art and some great coffee. The food menu seems good but not for the picky eater.

Best Açaí Bowl!

First time customer here....I did not feel welcomed by the employees, I felt very rushed to order & pay, she seemed shocked that I asked for my açaí bowl to go (no one has ever needed to grab & go?) and this is what I got. A sloppy, literally thrown in a box bowl, that had açaí that looked like it came out of a tube. The one star I gave was for the peanut butter I barely found under the strawberries. Never again!

First off the staff is incredible...the coffee is the best and if you are hungry the food is awesome...Love it!

The cold brew here is off the chain. You will feel borderline uncomfortable by how caffeinated it is. But if thats what you are looking for, this place gets it done. The staff is also really friendly and its got a prime location on the 101 by moonlight beach.

The people who work here are rude and unwelcoming. Their oat milk and coffee grinds are terrible. Only good thing about this place is the farro bowl.

Cold brew coffee on a hot summer day. Nice place to grab a quick drink and snack thats close to the beach and downtown shopping. Was slightly disappointed that they were out of nitro cold brew but gives me a reason to come back 😄

Tried the panino Italiano and croissant. Panino was ok-ish since the pepper and artichoque werent fresh. The whole sandwhich was somewhat soggy. The almond croissant was really good!

We loved this little coffee shop. My husband had an espresso and he said it was delicious, well made, and served with the conventional carbonated water. I had the cold brew which also was very good. We ordered a couple of bakery items which were both tasty!

I love it here! Good, creative tea and the workers are kind and personable. Great air to the place. Their baked goods are to die for - definitely check out their gluten-free vegan chocolate chip cookie. Im neither of those things, but its the best cookie Ive ever had.

In a city by the beach known for its great coffee, lofty has GREAT coffee :) Artisenal drinks and internationally sourced beans make this place a hit. Always a nice ocean breeze coming through the entry ways as well. Love this place and Buzz Coffee every time Im in Encinitas.

I like their little italy locations vibes a bit more. But they make a good cup o joe!

Best breakfast ever! The food is wonderful and fresh, not to mention the staff is super friendly and helpful. The quality of the coffee and food is outstanding and noticeable. What I loved about the menu is the versatility. The gluten free french toast and a cappuccino made with the in-house hazelnut milk is to die for!

UPDATE: so I used to LOVE this place, I’ve been going since it opened, but now they’ve kind of really gone downhill. The quality of the coffee is still amazing. But the people who work there are not particularly into customer service or helpfulness. On top of it, I called in to make an order for pick up and the person on the phone said she couldn’t take it but that I had to order on the app. She said there was no alternative. I don’t have the desire to download an app. It’s early in the morning on a Saturday. I just want coffee. And I’m on my way to an appointment so I want to be able to order it and pick it up. The lack of flexibility is ridiculousUpdate: I used to happily pay the high prices here because I believed in the quality of the food and the principles behind what kind of place this was trying to be, along with excellent personal customer service. However, my experience with the customer service has really gone downhill in the past year or two. Small neighborhood coffee/restaurant. Went there early Sunday morning of my birthday weekend. Found ourselves waiting for a good 30 minutes for two cups of coffee. Got a couple of pastries too. Hit with a $23.50 bill. Didnt see that coming. Their coffee was nothing special, to me it was bitter. And so was the cost.

Top notch coffee. Don’t be fooled this coffee is roasted properly, brewed correctly and served right! Consistent product, food and coffee. The best staff around! When in Encinitas it’s a must do! Caution, the line can be long so go early or go off peak times

We ordered two pour-overs; the Kenya and the Ethopia. They were both excellent and my husband and I couldnt decide which we liked better. They also have a gorgeous cold-brew system.My sister-in-law ordered their salted caramel latte and quite enjoyed it.My husband was pleased that you could enter at the front and order and exit through the back once you had your drink. That way you didnt have to navigate the line on your way out.Well likely come back to try their breakfast. Seeing the plates of avocado toast and eggs going past us was mouthwatering.

Very busy spot, and definitely more expensive than average with $5-6 coffees. But they have some outdoor seating and their coffee is also better than average. And they use unsweetened almond milk. :) Overall a good option!

A cosy little place on a hill. Its near downtown Encinitas, but out of the way. The coffee is great and the baked goods delicious. I had an oatmeal-chocolate cookie that was substantial and yummy.

Our go-to spot for coffee on a Sunday afternoon.Highlights:decaf salted caramel latte with almond milk. I dont usually like sweet drinks but Ill drink a gallon of this stuff.Cold brew (with growlers). Well priced and we always have it in our fridge.Food is good, but we dont get it very often. We usually just get a drink and head to the beach for a walk.

Started as a little hole in the wall several years ago. Drive down Coast Hwy, just north of Encinitas Blvd, look for the line... your there!The line is waiting for a reason... be patient.. its well worth it!

Weekend morning hot spot. Great place, avoid busy hours if possible or have patience to stand in line to place your order and wait for table to often up and your drinks and food.

Nice chic little place on the corner with a fresh vibe. I got a NOLA iced coffee which was delicious and refreshing, and the presentation was beautiful. I also got a banana muffin at the recommendation of the barista and it was scrumptious!

Cheery atmosphere, coffee choices not overwhelming but good standards plus unusual libations. The brewista, Joey made my Turkish cardamom coffee with a design that was so pretty. Im a lover of details like this,which makes your coffee experience that much more enjoyable.

I went here after a recommendation by a local. I got the Aztec with coconut milk. It was the best coffee Ive ever had. Im more of a tea drinker, but figured I would try it out. Very friendly staff and fast service. I also picked up the vegan oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. It was very filling and lasted me throughout the day working at the library. I will be back and looking forward to the location opening in Solana Beach.

Great place in Encinitas to get a coffee and pastry. I love their Latte and freshly made Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie. Street parking is available but there is limited parking in the guest parking within the building.

Great customer service and good food and coffee. Reduced to four stars because options are VERY limited...four flavored espresso drinks to choose from. :-( but nice atmosphere and a good pick for to support local, or to get gluten free.

Really tasty coffee that is crafted with careful consideration of the art of coffee making. Though this place is silly expensive!!!This hilltop location is much better than their other place on the corner down the street, where you’ll get trampled with bougie strollers and won’t be able to find a seat amongst the mothers.

We come in here for a cappuccino or a latte as often as we can. The paninis are very good too. They are quick to take your order at the counter and even bring your food and drinks to your table. It is busy most of time but that just ramps up the appeal of this very popular cafe.

The house blend coffee was excellent. Great panini sandwich too. Friendly and efficient staff. Hope to get back during our short stay in Encinitas.

Heard it had the best cold brewed coffee, so I thought I would try the place out. I got a vanilla latte, and it was one of the best Ive had. It has a creamy, smooth, buttery, delicious flavor. A bit expensive - 4.50 but I will be back for a treat

One of the best coffee I ever had. I found the place on an accident on my way from LA to San Diego. Now it is my must stop spot on that trip. I recommend the Salted Caramel Latte, but even just an espresso it just tastes rich and right.

Lofty is one of the better coffee roasters in the SD area in my opinion. They have a limited food menu, but what they have is delicious. Natural slants to all their fare, and baristas that know what theyre doing.

Disgusting. Misleading info on menus. Add artificial sweetener to their drinks, add sugar to mixes and dont say or give the option to remove.Dangerous and unpalatable.

Having outside seating is great. Their coffee was okay and the service was okay. Overall fine and nice to be able to walk to.
