I recently had a recall performed at Sheppard Motors in Eugene Oregon, USA. According to the invoice the dealership claimed to have replaced the alternator and valve cover. But after inspection I can confirm the valve cover was not removed and the alternator was cleaned off not replaced. I have over 15 years of experience at a dealership and know that when a recall is performed the manufacturer pays the dealership to complete the repair pre recall specifications and this was not done and is fraud. This on top of the service advisor being incredibly rude and trying to charge me $175 for a quote I requested (not a diagnosis) I would not be returning. My wife and I was interested in buying an new Hyundai from them but after such terrible customers service in the service department we went with another dealership.

We had a frustrating experience with Sheppard, mostly related to our interactions with Ilia, a service rep. Our Hyundai Tucson had a check engine light on– we took it to our local mechanic who diagnosed a bad cat converter and O2 sensors. He recommended bringing it to a dealer, as it was still under warranty. We schedule an apt with Ilia at Sheppard. I talked to Ilia on the phone 5 or 6 times throughout the day and went to the dealership 3 separate times as I got him proof of original ownership, engine codes, etc. Eventually, Ilia told us they could find nothing wrong with the car. Two days later the engine light was on again. I reached out to Ilia to see if we could get in right away– he never returned my calls. We scheduled online and brought it in three weeks later. Ilia acted as if he didnt remember us, so we re-explained the sequence of events to a different rep, Bobby. Within a couple hours, Bobby called and said the O2 sensors were bad– the same diagnosis that our original mechanic had given. Bobby said that the notes from our last visit indicated this was the problem. However, Ilia never communicated this to us, and the receipt we signed last time had no mention of it. Bobby said it was very strange that it wasnt on our last receipt (he double checked, and it wasnt). I dont know why Ilia would have chosen not to tell us the issue or why he would pretend to no longer remember us. In the end, we paid $171 for our second diagnostic visit. The O2 sensors were not covered under warranty, and we declined to have Sheppard change them, choosing to take our business elsewhere. Sheppard lost our confidence when Ilia failed to communicate what his own mechanics noted about our vehicle, and his pretense that he had no memory of our last visit showed a willingness to be dishonest. On a side note, Bobby was helpful and seemed like a good person to work with.

The buying process was great, of course. But the car had a check engine light on for a cylinder 2 misfire. The team told me it was probably due to pressure washing the engine and would go away in no time. I didnt buy that, so I had them give me a 4 year bumper to bumper warranty and told them that me buying the car was contingent on them fixing that issue.I bought the car and the issue didnt go away. So I brought the car back the next day and a salesman lied through his teeth telling me thats just how it drove. You could literally feel the misfire.As it turns out, this was a known issue. The car had already had service for this problem 3 months ago and it had come back. Its a good thing I got the warranty because now its been in their shop since I bought it over a month ago. Im now making payments on a car Ive never driven. They have not even attempted to contact me with updates and seem annoyed when I give them my weekly call to check in.Im incredibly disappointed. After buying the car Ive talked to many friends who have also had issues with Sheppard. I should have done my research.

I cannot explain how disappointed I am with this dealership. I scheduled an appointment to come and possibly purchase a vehicle and once I arrived the car was already purchased. I drove two hours and got no calls informing me that the car I was coming to look for was being purchased. There goes my time and gas wasted. Terrible experience and clearly disappointed.

Recently visited for full service. So many problems remained. When I asked what I should do to get issues fixed, I was told to, take it to a professional. Funny, I thought I had. Actually ended up on the side of the freeway on the way home w a tire pressure issue.Although purchasing both a service warranty and miles warranty for my 2019 Jetta, I cannot seem to get anything covered at this establishment.Brake problems, rotors, etc. Told its wear and tear...

McCoy was a wonderful salesman, but you dont go into a dealership more ready, honest and as straightforward as a man like me. Great trade-in with a paperwork proofed new engine replacement, pre-loan approval for 32,000 dollars, the used car already there and decided upon to purchase...all thats needed is a fair trade value followed by sell value and wallah. BUT, I was shorted for trade value and no budge room on purchase value, and a 2and I was willing to walk, they decided to cover the Air conditioning that was going to be excluded. I dont like dealerships for these reasons and they still have not gotten the damn point, I am not interested in your inflated prices and money targets unless youre interested in helping me find an awesome car. Plane and simple. Sheppard Motors was neither good nor bad, just a standard dealership that isnt interested in people, just sales targets....and while theyre a business, you forget that people buying cars pay your bills. Make people your focus over profits and you will skyrocket your profits. Duh!

Bought a 2021 Elantra from Sheppard Motors on March 12th 2021. Drove the car to and from work in junction city 3 days a week, took the family to wildlife safari on 7th. zero issues with the car. Drove the elantra to and from work again April 9th thru the 11th. Parked the car in my driveway April 11th at about 930 p.m with just under 700 miles on the car. Woke up April 12th, remote started my car on my phone app while getting ready to head back to work. I get in my car and every sensor code is popping up on my dash and needing to be checked. I look under the hood and dont see any obvious wires or other issues that might grab my attention when looking under the hood. My uncle who was on his way to work gives the engine a look over and also cant see any obvious issue. I call the customer care line after contacting the dealership when they open, get my car towed to Sheppard. Several hours later, a gentleman call me to say that the car had been reversed jump started and that caused to computer system to fry resulting in no warranty coverage.I then get a ride to the dealership to present the man on the phone videos he requested that I could not send via email to him.A different person speaks to me at Sheppard and states that the battery has obviously been tampered with and that there is no need to see the video of what the car was doing because they already had it figured out. He also tells me it is pointless to submit a claim because they will see the battery and know that its not covered. I will be required to pay out of pocket 3,500 for repairs.I then return home and check all the footage from my video cameras to see if there was a chance that someone had messed with the car in the middle of the night. Cameras came up empty. I then checked the diagnostic part of the car app to see if any codes came up. 1 Code came up at 1207 a.m. stating to check lane departure sensors. The car was not on at this point and no one was near the car.I call Sheppard to report my finding as well as finding out there are 5 different ways a battery terminal can melt. The man then stated that theres no reports of the Elantra having any of those possible issues. ( A 4 month old car and they already know?)I stated that I wanted the claim to be submitted to the warranty department and the man tells me that I have to pay for the repairs and then they submit the claim and I will find out later weather I get reimbursed or not. he then also tell me that the car will take a month to get parts for and repair.Moral of the story..... Sheppard motors has made me, a paying customer, look like a liar, miss out on work, have no rental car and try to dissuade me from submitting a claim to the warranty department.

They helped me get into a car even when I had really rough credit, and have been excellent in providing maintenance. Their service department found a problem with my head gasket during a normal oil change and got everything covered with my warranty, and set me up with a loaner for the duration of the repair.Theyre all quite nice and professional, and the work they do is great.

Had a great experience buying a Sonata from Sheppard Motors ten years ago. Great car, its still going strong. Wanted a new car and, ten years later, had another awesome customer experience at Sheppard. Val is simply a great guy and worked to get us the new Tucson we wanted at a very good price - actually $2,000 less than what I said I was willing to pay. The finance guy and the manager were also genuinely friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

Bought a pretty decent car from them but i ended up getting a warranty that i changed my mind on within 24 hours. It has now been 2 months and they have told me they would refund the 4 grand but they refuse to actually do so and it still shows up on my statements. Absolutely ridiculous as i have gone in 3 times trying to deal with this, have paperwork from them claiming they cancelled it, yet havent.

They were very professional, yet personable. I do a lot of traveling and have been to several Volvo dealerships. *update - I was contacted today by the manager, Ian. He apologized and made everything right. This is the kind of customer service that I respect. I now feel I can give them more than the one star rating from earlier.Scheduled an appt for my complimentary oil change and tire rotation which came with the purchase of my new 2020 Hyundai Elantra. Had already had my last oil change here so the sticker in the window from them said to come back at 20,033 miles. My car has 21,140 miles. They wouldn’t do the oil change or tire rotation because I was here 400 miles too early. So they messed up on the sticker but did nothing about it. They told me I need to make another appt. I’ll hit those 400 miles tomorrow because I commute to Portland daily but didn’t matter to them. If you mess up as a business, you should make up for it.

I had been in the market of upgrading my vehicle, and had thoroughly enjoyed my previous Hyundai. With overall intent to purchase, and upon my initial visit, I met with Matt on the lot and we took a couple vehicles out to test. I wasnt ready to buy at that time, but Matt had asked me if Id be willing to provide my personal information to stay in touch. I agreed. I expected to be bombarded with ads and messaging, but when that didnt happen I knew I was dealing with professionals. Matt seemed honest, fair, and trustworthy. He respected my privacy, adhered to my requests and questions, and respected my time. Before my return to the lot, he messaged me with a few vehicles that were very close to my requests, ultimately bringing me back into the showroom, and concluding with a deal we were both happy with. I recommend Matt specifically at Sheppard Motors Ltd, but overall if you want great service, fair prices and negotiation, this is the place!

I would leave 0 stars if that was an option. This dealership is underhanded, deceitful, and outright lies. They are also extremely unprofessional and, when called on it, they make excuses. My personal experience was them using yo yo financing tactics, to the point that I had to get a lawyer involved. It got to the point where they repeatedly blamed the finance company, despite the fact that on five separate occasions, I talked with a different person from the finance company and all of them said they had no issues with me and I was in good standing. Still, Sheppard Motors repoed my car and still blamed the finance company, saying they wanted the car back. Taking matters into my own hands, I talked to the finance company myself who, again, reassured me they had no issues with me and did not ask for the car back. I even tried contacting the president of the company, Phil Speers. He attempted to call back once but, I was at work. I called back but, was never able to talk to him again. In trying to get answers from Sheppard Motors finance guy, John, he was suddenly unavailable to talk. And when I went there in person to talk to John to get to the bottom of what happened, Ian, the manager, stonewalled me and lied to my face, saying John was unavailable and was off site for a meeting. As soon as he walked away, John walked by. I tried going to Johns office and Ian turned around, saw me, and physically blocked me and told me I needed to leave. Thats when I got the lawyer involved. The lawyer was able to get all my money back, including my down payment but, even he had a hard time getting any cooperation from them and had to threaten a lawsuit before they referred him to their lawyer.

We bought a used as is Hyundai Sonata and the check engine light came on right after leaving the dealership. We called the next day and Abraham said pretty much nothing. Bought parts and fixed it. I will never buy from Sheppard again. We didnt even have the vehicle 24 hours. As is is right, apparently lesson learned for us.

I’ve been leasing with Sheppard for the last six years, and I’ve been really impressed with their customer service. My sales reps were Mark and Matt. I told them what I was looking for in a car, and they pointed me right to the one that fit me best. They listened well, and took care of me. I imagine I’m paying a little more than I should, but their service is worth the little bit extra I’m paying and worth it. I am very satisfied with my car. And I hope Matt and Mark are still there in three years when my lease is up. The only spot for improvement is the presentation of pricing, rebates, and discounts. I wasn’t sure what all the numbers meant or how they were arriving at the numbers. I like to have all of that information in front of me and know what I’m looking at. But otherwise, they were excellent.

I had an appointment to buy a car from the dealership on Saturday morning, Friday night I am told they now have another appointment an hour earlier than mine now and are going to sell it to someone else instead of me.This was extremely upsetting and unprofessional considering we had an appointment before this other person did and I got my car cleaned and emptied out to trade in on Saturday.Never will I purchase or try to purchase a car there again.

Excellent service. We dropped off car and had to go out of town. There was no problem leaving car for a few days. My husband requested to have tires rotated and balanced along with oil change. They did not feel this is necessary so did not do it. They could’ve easily did it and charged us for it, but they didn’t. Definitely will be back. Thanks Sheppard Motors!

I took my 2008 Hyundai Elantra in to have them diagnose why my air conditioner worked great but I had no heat. Their service department didn’t take the time to find out why my car was having an issue, they simply said the whole unit needed to be replaced (the cost $3000). I’m not that gullible. We took it to a local shop here in Coos Bay and had my car fixed for $300. My heater and AC works wonderfully now. I’m very disappointed with this dealership. I had a factory recall at the same time and they neglected to take care of it. I’m scared to know if the work that I paid for ($900) to have the transmission flushed, tires rotated, oil change and a few other routine services were actually done and to what specifications. I would never recommend this dealer and I will never go back!!

Outstanding experience. Outstanding, and our salesrep Matt was the reason. No pressure, lots of great communication, connection, and personalized chat. We were looking for a Hyundai, but were trying to find a dealer that didnt insult or frustrate us. We literally bought the car at Sheppard due to Matt. Test drive was great, paperwork reasonable, pricing great. To top it off, Matt had the car placed in the showroom, and (for the first time in 45 years of buying cars) we literally drove it off the showroom floor. Highly recommended.

I came into the service center to get my 2020 Hyundai Kona serviced in July 2020 before I drove the vehicle cross country. I was requesting basic maintenance, and I was told that I only needed to service my vehicle (get an oil change, etc) every 10,000 miles. My vehicle is now at 9800 miles, and I have found out that my complimentary maintenance plan is only redeemable every 7500 miles, and that for the safety of my vehicle I need to get the oil changed every 7500 miles. Now I have to pay out of pocket for the service because I was given incorrect information. I’m extremely upset by this. I think the service advisors need to be retrained and not give out incorrect information that could potentially cause damage to a $24,000 vehicle.

Wanted to buy a new Palisade and keep that business in Eugene. Left a text message and detailed email with the Salesperson. No one got back to me. I called the dealership, while sales personnel across the state were working and contacting me to help me find the right fit. Was then inexplicably reconnected with the same sales agent who misquoted interest rate available on the Palisade and told the model specs I was after wasn’t available while three other Oregon dealerships located the one I was looking for.Our experience with Sheppard and the Service reviews mean that none of our money got spent locally.I can recommend Beaverton and Gladstone dealerships as providing excellent research and shopping services for Hyundai.

So I recently purchased a 2013 Mercedes c250 from this dealership. After driving 3 hours to go pick up the car I arrive in Eugene and the salesman tony informed me that there was a few sensors on the vehicle that needed to be replaced. He informed me that I could take it anywhere of my liking to get it fixed which I thought was cool. I just wish he woulda told me about the issue before I drove 3 hours to buy the car which I was under the impression I was picking up a car with no issues. The car is currently fixed and driving great.

We were looking for a used truck on a short schedule and saw one on the lot so we thought wed swing in and check it out. Teresa was our sales person and she was fantastic to work with. She and everyone else there worked very hard to help us out and make the experience nice. Very upfront with everything and very accommodating!We got the truck home and the check engine light came on. The next day I called them and they said no problem bring it in and well take a look at it. They ended up sending the truck to another dealership as they dont sell this brand new and said it would be better if the guys that know them work on them.Got the light taken care of (so I thought) and the day after I got it back it went on again. This is now about 5 days after after I bought it and so I called around to see if I could get the truck back into a shop and everyone was booked for the next week or more. I let Sheppard know it was on again and they immediately said bring it in well get you taken care of. After a few phone calls and a team effort from their sales, service and management they called in some favors and were able to get me back into the shop the same day to resolve the issue.Thank you for standing behind your vehicles even when they are sold as-is and are not a brand you work with and for your hard work, we really appreciate it! Worst customer service and overall experience. It took me 6 months for a simple repair to be completed on my car. The communication was abysmal. I was relayed different messages from different employees regarding my car, my phone calls were never returned, and there was always a delay in service without any notification to myself. Nice dealership! Clean waiting area, nice people. I was a little disappointed they didnt vacuum or wash my car as part of the oil change. They do that at other dealers although I dont know if that isnt common in Oregon? Other than that, I thought they did a great job!

I brought my Santa Fe Sport in here for a computer update and ended up leaving with a 2019 Santa Fe. The service staff was helpful and very timely. They offered me a shuttle which came in handy so I didnt have to wait at the dealership the whole time. I worked with Ryan, Val, and Mark on the sales team and they made sure all our needs were met, and they were very helpful. Ryan pulled up the four different trim options of Santa Fes they had in stock and let us decide which one we wanted without pushing one on us. We worked with Adam as our finance manager and he did a good job of explaining everything and he didnt push anything on us that we didnt want. Overall, they made buying a car pretty easy and I left happy knowing I wasnt sold anything I didnt need.

What a great experience. Tony was super down to earth and stayed very late so that I could make it in after work. The whole staff worked hard to get me what I needed for my trade and even sent a driver over an hour away to get a signature that we needed. I’m 99% sure that I bought a truck from them in 2007 (I really can’t remember) and now I’ve purchased another one! I’ll definitely shop with them again and I recommend strongly that you call Tony next time your looking to buy a vehicle!

The entire staff was great. I had an Audi with a low oil light on and went to the BMW place and was treated poorly and told to go somewhere else.When I arrived tot his dealership the staff was very helpful. Dog friendly as well and really put me at ease on the light. I had a 2.5 hour drive ahead of me so it was great to have the oil warning light fixed. They provided me with coffee and my dog with water treats and a picture by the VW van. They washed my car and vacuumed it as well as did not charge me to put a small amount of oil in. They checked all my other fluids and recommended an amazing lunch spot! I would highly recommend their dealership.

Everything went perfect with our service on our Volvo. We live out of town and Sheppard is the closest dealer to us. We scheduled with Nick and had a list of items to have done. They provided us a shuttle and Al the driver was great. Nick communicated with us well and they had our car done two hours before they estimated. The shuttle came and picked us up to get our car. All of the repairs were completed and all is working great. Nick was very friendly and easy to work with. We would highly recommend sheppard for service!

Loved that there was no pressure from the beginning. The young man who showed us the Jetta was very knowledgeable, sociable and respectful . He introduced us to Tony when we wanted to see another car that he was less familiar with, and Tony became our primary salesperson from then on. He was extremely knowledgeable, and made our search and, in the end, purchase, relatively easy and, which is not always the case, enjoyable. I was a traveler working in Florence Oregon. My altenator went out in my car. Sheppard was close to where I was traveling. Amazing people, did a great job on my car took care of me. Well I was out in Florence during this Covid times so they had my car for one week. The service guy said they would take care of my rental the first week. I would pay for the extra days I needed because I was an hour away from Eugene. So I did. Spent over a grand on my new altenator . At least they could have paid for the first week of my rental. Got back to my home town just to realize I have been sent to a collection agency because the rental hasnt been paid. What the H!@#. Thank you Sheppard for doing that. Also my fault that you put it at the end of the paperwork. I didnt even look because I didnt think people there would screw you over. Its all good. I got back to my home and I will never remember that about my trip to OR.

My experience at Sheppard Volkswagen was very poor. I dropped my car off for repairs on a Saturday, after the service department was closed. So they told me that they would look at the car on Monday and then call me. They told me over the phone that the car would be ready by noon on Tuesday. When I arrived (after my two hour drive) the car wasn’t completely ready for me to take home. So they had to take the car for another day to make more repairs. At that point I had already payed for the $2,000 repair and I still didn’t have a car to drive. Then I looked over the repair sheet and they overcharged me for the replacement parts. I found the exact part on the Volkswagen website for $225 cheaper. So that tells me that they were more interested in making money, rather than looking out for their customers. I pointed this out and the mechanic’s excuse was that I didn’t consider shipping charges. A ridiculous point, but it is what it is. This is the second time I’ve been there and both times I felt as if I was getting ripped off. Though I will say that the Assistant Service Manager, Luis Reyna, was very helpful. Outside of that, I hope I never have to deal with them again.

This Sheppard motors is the only one I would do business with. They are honest and true to there word. I got my car fixed there recently and their communication with me was great. Thank you Sheppard Motors (and Adam specifically) for the best car buying experience weve ever had!! We live in Bend so are somewhat limited when it comes to car buying options and selection. We had been looking for a new Hyundai Santa Fe for a while and found exactly what we wanted at Sheppard. We inquired online, and literally, within two minutes I was on the phone with Adam. He was incredibly professional, got everything we needed to purchase the car finished over the phone in no time at all, and we were ready to buy. We were originally planning on driving to Eugene to buy it, but Adam offered to drive it to Bend and drive our trade-in home. Having two younger daughters this was an absolutely amazing offer, and so appreciated. Adam was at our house the next day by lunch time with our new Santa Fe (full tank and wash included after his drive, by the way). He walked us through everything we needed to know (syncing phones, going through all infotainment/navigation features, home link, etc.), and did all the paperwork in our dining room in just minutes. I would not only HIGHLY recommend Sheppard Motors to anyone, but I plan on sending my best friend to Adam when theyre ready to buy later this year. Unbelievable service!! Everyone I interacted with was awesome. I am a bit difficult when buying a new car and Mark was a champ at making me feel satisfied. Originally I went to help a friend buy a new hybrid Ioniq, but ended up selling myself on a new Hyundai too. Oops. I bought a new Sonata Plug-in Hybrid Limited that was gracing the showroom floor. She had the most fantastic blue leather interior with chrome accents on Hyper white paint. I now call her Alice. This was my 5th time buying a new car and felt very well cared for, never pushed and feel I got a great deal. There seems to be a frequent turn over in the service department. I miss the familiar faces at the service desk. Justin, the new staff for Hyundai service department was pleasant to work with. So far, it has been a good experience getting my car in for an oil change and for filters changed. The prices, though, is a bit off for the oil change as well as air filter seems high. The oil change is priced at $48 when in other cities such as Portland where rent and staffing cost is higher. There, the oil change is $34.50. The air filters done was also higher. In fact, if I were to change them myself, I would save $100 out of $150 I was quoted. I don’t understand how the labor could be $75-100 for what took about 15 minutes. I still go to Hyundai since it is always good to see some of the staff, especially Robin. I just wish Sheppard Motors would send out service discount coupons more often. I use to get them up until a year after I bought it from Sheppard. Lastly, the interior coverage I purchased was worthless. Seems like every scratches I get wasn’t covered or I was told it’d be better to wait until it’s worse to make the repair worthwhile. That was a great waste of my $750!

Excellent service in the service and parts department! I love that they offer shuttle service to and from anywhere you need to go while your car is being worked on and their shuttle drive is amazing! Very personable, thoughtful, and friendly! He makes it an effort to be as quick as possible to get you where you need to go and makes you feel like the first priority! Overall great place!
