Had the pleasure of meeting Dennis and his lovely dog. People in the know had told me what an honest store he runs and how amicable he is. He and his hound far exceeded any expectations. He donates cards to kids who might not be able to access a great hobby. Good for Dennis. Im a customer for life as of today !

Super nice guy and friendly service. He gave me a fair price for my cards, but reminded me how valuable they might be to look at later on in life. I ended up keeping the most important ones. I bought all these cards from him 25 years ago and it’s nice to see him still in business. He takes cards that are not valuable and donates them to at-risk kids that will find them fun. Totally recommend.

I was in for the first time a few weeks back, I felt right at home! I felt appreciated (enjoyed the big dog) for my business and liked the friendliness of the man behind the counter. Customer service may not mean much to some but it means a lot to me! The other shop in town is more organized but I always feel like Im an interruption when I go in there! I spend a fortune on cardboard and I would like to think those Im supporting appreciate my business!...something that seems to be lost in Eugene!...there are still a few places left who appreciate you and this is one of them.

The owner Dennis is cool and he will let you look through any box you want to. Also he tells you if youre offering to much for something. Doesnt take advantage of less knowlegable collectors.

The owners partner is more knowledgeable than the owner himself. The owner had no idea what his items cost as he had to look everything up and he asked me how much I would pay for everything. Terrible experience. Spent about 2 hours digging through singles for my PC and he charged me 5x what they go for on the bay. The dog gave better service. I will have to give the employee an A+ for being knowledgeable and being just an all around friendly guy. The 1 star rating was for the old guy.

Friendly atmosphere, great location, tons and tons of cool and hard-to find items.This is not a shop for obsessive compulsive people who demand organization and a cellophane wrapped experience. In a way its like stepping back in time and it rewards those who are prepared to dive in and find what they are looking for. Fun and cool!

I’ve been going to Dennis’ shop for over 20 years. He is friendly, knowledgeable and incredibly fair. It’s true that his shop may not be the most organized, but that’s part of its charm, IMO. Hooker’s is one of the most unique shops you will ever visit, and Dennis is one of most honest and generous shop owners you will ever meet.

I had planned to stop by and see what was available. I drive across country regularly and stop in card stores when I have time. I decided not to visit. It isn’t the fact that the place is a mess, as stated by others, it’s the fact that the owners responses to others reviews is absolutely irresponsible of a store owner. To think that a real business acts as though it will be worthwhile with an owner like the one who owns this shop, is asinine. Good luck with your “shop.”

One of the best people and shops out there! A little intimidating at first, but it’s super fun to dig through and find great cards! My dad and I have been coming here for years and won’t stop as long as we’re allowed!

Dennis and Bella know their stuff. Be aware: the place is ideal for real dig-heads. If youre not a real collector who can roll up his or her sleeves, youre in the wrong place. Dennis has built this collection over years and doesnt deal with crybabies spoiled by internet buys. Get in there!

I went in to look for a dc comic book to use as gift wrapping (Superman, Batman, Aquaman). A inexpensive one. We looked thru that pile of comics and I found a 1992 Green Lantern without the cover. It was perfect! Ill take it! He said: sure, you can have it for free. I was surprised and very happy. Thanks Hookers! I will definitely come back again.

Having been in several well organized, easy to find what you looking for, sorted by sport, team, player, etc this shop was an absolute joke. No respect for the thousands of cards you hold in your store that are just displaced and hundreds all over the ground, is disgusting. Must I say, over priced for what is being sold, as the owner said “that’s what it will take for me to get my money back.” As a customer with children who holds value and pride to collect cards and get autographs from players and see a card store that they can not enjoy is prett shameful, not for me and them but for the owner and the store.The worst I have ever seen and been through.

I have been going to Hookers once or twice a year since I was 12 and had my dad drive me there. The owner has cards scattered all over his shop, but this is not a bad thing. I have bought cards for far less than they are worth because he did not know what he had scattered accross his counters or in boxes. The owner is a great guy and I look forward to going back there every year to see what I can discover. I loved it as a kid because I could buy cards of my favorite Oregon Duck players. I now appreciate some of the gems that are now in my price range as I have grown older.

Took a minute to get in the door due to boxes, comics an cards loose all over the place. No rhyme or reason to the disorder. NEED ORGANIZATION BADLY!!Owner didnt like my review an stated he found what we were looking for, yet he wanted us to dig around his mess for a discount an made no offer to find what we were looking for. [Strickly Comics]..He also commented that I leave a lot of negative. I went to 5 book stores an his was the only negative I left. ALSO, we werent looking for rookie cards. He has us mixed up with someone else!!! Which means we werent the only people disgusted with this store. Wow does this owner like to lie... There were no popcorn boxes by the door when we were there either!!

Hookers Sports Cards is my favorite comic book store on the west coast. The owner has given me excellent deals on back issues over the years, which he has in all grades of condition, and is always willing to work with you on the prices. He has an amazing selection and is very knowledgeable about his stock, which includes many complete runs, key gold and silver age issues and is always rotating. This gives the store a very high revisit value. The laid back approach to organization makes for a very fun shopping experience (and we all know that shopping is half the fun of comic book collecting), and there is even a very friendly dog often present. I could not recommend an establishment higher. My advice to you is to go there immediately. Open until 6 pm 6 days a week (closed Mondays).

Its been a LONG time since I have bought any sports cards. Out of the blue I caught the bug and decided to go to Hookers and see what was available. Dennis took the time to catch me up on what Ive missed in the last 25 years and let me look through many of his collections. Thank you Dennis! Ill be back.

I’ve been goin to this place for years and Dennis always treats me well. This business is a local institution! It has been around for decades all under the same owner. I appreciate that There’s always a good mixture of hobby and retail product to choose between. Too often nowadays local card shops end up selling retail product from stores like Walmart, Fred Myers and target for twice the amount. I expect to see hobby stuff in local card shops and Dennis always had hobby product to buy up!!-K-Lan
