Charming local shop with unique fabric and yarn selections. I was happy to peruse the clothing patterns to find designers you won’t see at the big box craft and fabric stores. Excited to visit again.
Very cute shop, with well curated selection of fabrics and yarns and interesting selection of books. The staff was also super friendly. Will definitely be back!
I visited Evanston Stitchworks for sock yarn. I was able to find exactly what I needed for an upcoming project. Visit Evanston Stitchworks for quality, hand-dyed yarns.
This little shop is really well curated. They have mostly fabric and yarn but also stock things like embroidery floss to support other crafty endeavors. In pre-pandemic times, I found a cute kit for sashiko coasters and some lovely clothing patterns here. Theyve done a great job at being flexible since March and I had a fun video shopping experience earlier this spring to pick out fabric for pajama pants with my son.
Beautiful fabrics and very knowledgeable owner.
Such a fun little shop. Amazing fabrics and yarns. Definitely worth a stop!
I love this place, the owner is very nice and gives great suggestions
Best store in Evanston! Im going to start taking classes soon :-)
I am always on the lookout for natural fibers. Amalia carries a beautiful selection of cotton, linen and wool. Both the style and the service at Evanston Stitchworks are impeccable!
I LOVE going into this shop and just hanging around a looking at all the magically, beautiful fabrics, especially the Japanese ones. Great mid-century style prints as well. The owner is really good at helpinging selects solids that go with the prints but arent too match match. Nice people!
I am totally in love with this shop! Amalia has helped transform my inability to even thread my sewing machine into actual skills in creating fun and fabulous items to use and wear. I love the unique and quality fabric selection and the classes are total hands on with plenty of individual attention. (I actually just signed up for another... this time a modern log cabin quilting block class!) So happy youre here in Evanston.
This is the perfect store.Great place to find unique fabrics and yarns. I found a amazing double gauze fabric that I love. There is some yarn that I have my eye on and cant wait to go back.
I took a few hour class in 2017 on quilting and really loved it, and I walked away with a wonderful gift for myself! The owner is a kind and knowledgeable teacher... patient with both new and veteran seamsters/seamstresses. The store has a great selection of yarns, fabrics, and cool tools. I adore this place.
This store is exactly what Evanston needs. It is warm, friendly, peaceful, and stokes creativity. There are beautiful, high quality fabrics, gorgeous hand-dyed yarns, and inspiring ideas everywhere you look. Amalia, the owner, is as knowledgeable as she is kind and she offers classes for adults and kids in sewing and knitting. It is the perfect place to knit and chat, troubleshoot a project with other crafty people, or look for your next project. I cant even recommend it highly enough.
Curated and Creative for Yarn and MoreA quirky small shop loaded with colorful yarns and fabrics, Stitchworks offers a curated collection of items. We were delighted to learn that the yarns are small batch from Midwestern farms, hand dyed by the owner. She also teaches classes in knitting and sewing, right in the shop. Classes fill up quickly, so we are waiting for the next round, while we picked up the yarn for our own projects right away. A cheery space and customer service is welcome--a neighborhood gem.
This place is a great local sewing/yarn shop. They have knitting classes and sewing classes, along with a superb collection of hand dyed yarns, small batch yarns, and interesting fabrics. Every other Tuesday is a drop in stitch* night for stitches of all sorts.
The ever-gracious Amalia has created a lovely place for crafters. Her hand-dyed yarns are gorgeous and (too) tempting, and cheerful fabrics make you want to grab a needle and get started. Shes helpful and knowledgeable. Tuesday knit nights are welcoming. A real Evanston gem!
Super cute shop. Very good quality of yarn, which is especially nice given all the yarn stores have closed.
Really nice place and even better people :D
So helpful in such a gentle way, beautiful fabrics that delight the eye and are suited to multiple uses!!
