Not what you expect from a small used car lot!!! Customers really DO finish first. They made sure the car I bought had good tires and brakes before I left, saving me hundreds in basic maintenance. 2 weeks after I bought it, the serpentine belt failed. They replaced it for free, and Ahmed the mechanic checked all belts, fluids, hoses and filters just to be sure I had no other issues.I also appreciated the low pressure sales pitch of Scott. By far the best car buying experience I have had. Big car lots should take note and emulate their customer first mission statement.

Last weekend, my family was looking to purchase a newer more reliable SUV for our daughter who is a sophomore this fall in college. We wanted a four-wheel drive vehicle with under 100k miles, that could deal with weather and snow. We were impressed by several of the cars we saw online for Checkered Flag Motors, and thought we could check them out. We called to make sure they were open during the 4th of July weekend, and John Mack assured us theyd be open. We arrived the next morning, and Cary our salesman, was waiting for us and wonderful to work with! He helped us consider more closely two vehicles which they had on the lot, that both met our needs and price range. We checked them out, settled on one, and the price was great for an SUV that had only 83k miles. The most important part is that our daughter felt that she now had a much more reliable and safer car to take back to school in the fall! Another great experience at Checkered Flag Motors, this is the second vehicle I have purchased from Checkered Flag Motors. Cary understood my needs and my budget. I was able to trade in my used car without any hassle and he helped me find another great car without exceeding my budget. We bought a van, and then the check engine light came on. We had it inspected by a mechanic to find out what it needed. (Save yourself the surprise, do this step BEFORE you make the purchase). When we spoke with Carey and Scott, they were so understanding and gracious, despite of our frustration, and they went above and beyond to make this right for us. Gary was very easy going and really informative about the car I was interested in. He gave me a lot of freedom in test driving the car. Scott was downright rude which caught me by surprise and ruined what had been up until then a positive experience.

I bought a van for my family here and Scott and Cary were willing to help with repair issues even after the sale! Looking back I learned to get it taken to a mechanic first not after, but Im thankful they gave me a good deal on a used Toyota sienna!

Excellent car lot, huge selection.I had to go there on short notice to buy a backup car as the motor in mine went out they were great I was out of there with a car in less than 2 hours even with a credit score of ***,I easily got financing that was great .My new car gets almost 30 miles to the gallon, runs great no problems at all even had brand new tires on it.

Went in one day and found the type of car i was searching for after looking for a good while online. Cary and Russ helped me choose the right car and it had a great price and had good mileage on it. Had my heart set on a vehicle at this dealership. It was THE ONE. I had done months of research and looked as far as 500 miles for the perfect car, which they had in stock. I tried emailing the company 3 times and only received one response, which didnt address my questions. I just needed to know if I could be approved with my credit score and my Mini Cooper Countryman trade-in. I just wanted to know what the tax, license, and fees were and what they would give me for my car. I never got any of these answers, and when I called the 2nd time, it was already sold. This process has made me not want to buy a vehicle in general. If you are look for a dealership that is good at following up, cares about earning your business, and is straight forward with numbers... look elsewhere.*first contact was May 25th, they told me it was sold June 16th, 3 weeks all to be disheartened... all my questions got this one answer Please fill out a credit app on our website, and I will see what we can do for you. My car buying experience at Checkered Flag Motors was like doing business with good friends. Scott Mercer, with his low pressure approach took loads of stress away from the process. Not only that, when I ran into a complication with financing and an issue with the car, Scott did the unthinkable (these days) and continued to work on my behalf until I drove off in a great little SUV! My 20 year old daughter was looking for a Subaru. We checked several places and she found the one she wanted at Checkered Flag Motors. We called and spoke to a gentleman named Carrie multiple times and he was able to get us approved and we came in and test drove the car and my daughter loved it and purchased it. I dont generally care for used car dealerships but we had an excellent experience at this one!

They helped me finance a car when nobody else would. They have the friendliest customer service Representatives and their cars are worth buying they tell you what is going on with them if there is a problem with them but usually there is not and they work with your credit no matter how bad they were great to me and I look forward to doing business with him in the future. I would recommend them to anybody I know. If you need to talk to somebody talk with Russ he is great person but they are all great people.

I am a total gearhead, and have something of a collection myself. Therefore, Im all too familiar with car buying/selling. Bottom line: NO BS - I wish I could buy everything from these guys! -My experience:They had a fantastic looking Rx8 listed, and I thought Id see about trading one of my Rx7s for it.I got there, was warmly greeted, and the salesman also happen to be a Rotary enthusiast. The staff that I spoke with was all very polite and definitely car guys. Theyre Into it, polar opposite of the I could care less kinds of places.He quickly offered a test drive, and then drove mine. The Rx8 was definitely better than advertised and they gave me a very fair price for trading my Rx7 in.I drove off with the Rx8 in under an hour! They are very efficient and certainly not time wasters. Its a shame that not every place follows their practice. They deserve 10 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We purchased a vehicle from this dealership. We have bought many used cars in our lifetime, and are always uncertain when dealing with a small used car dealership. We bought the car and after about an hour driving, it starting having major issues. We called the salesman and he said bring it back. We made it back, and it turned out the turbo was shot. The dealership replaced the turbo, which we priced out at over $1,000, and they paid for it all. The salesman and owner where involved in the process, they even said they would drive the repaired vehicle from Everett to where we live in Olympia. We have had that vehicle for 6 months now, and it is still doing great. If we were looking for another car, we would definitely include Checkered Flag as one of our top places to look!!

I havent dealt with many car dealerships, but everyone who I met with here was fantastic. Nobody pushed me to look at any car I didnt want to see, and Russ made the car buying process very simple and straightforward, and gave me the most out of my trade in. Back in October 2017 we went in to buy a 2003 Subaru Outback. We were told the head gasket, Valve cover had all been done. We looked it over and could tell the valve cover was leaking. We called up our shop and got told the price to fix it. We took the price down to cover the repairs. Take the car to the shop, they start tearing in to it. A lot worse then we had thought. They lied to use about having any of the work done. Had the car not even 2 days and were over 4000 to fix it! Called them up and they had nothing to say beside hang up on me! Do not waste your time or money here!

I got that and more...he got me my preferred price, was clear and concise with all associated fees and paperwork, did all the work himself...quickly. Beyond that, he was engaging and far from pushy. As I left just as the lot was closing, he came over to me, idling in the new car looking over the controls, and asked if I needed anything or any questions answered. He invited me to call him if I had questions at a later time, also.Excellent.

Once was held hostage (basically), and other times have left the lot due to pressure from salesmen.This experience was like no other experience Ive had. We got there and Ken came to talk to us. He was laid back, listened, and even when she may have slipped a little in negotiating, he was very helpful. If anyone asks me where to go buy a used car, Im sending them to Ken!!!

Bought a car from them back in April. They sold me a car that had a rust hole in my right control arm and rust covered everything. A couple months after my exhaust broke at the catalytic converter because of rust. That car should not have left the lot in the condition it was in. Dealer even put the wrong type of oil in my car. I didnt realize the extent of damage until i lifted it up and changed the oil. Took it to a shop and they wouldnt even let me have my car back because of the hole in my control arm, mechanic deemed it unsafe to drive because one wrong pot hit on the freeway and I could have flipped the car if my control had broke. I will never in my life do business with them again and I will never refer them to anyone.

Be careful!!!!! Made an appointment with these dishonest people and drove from Kennewick washington to view and purchase a 2009 Volvo wagon on 10/28/18. There was an unprecedented storm on Snoqalmie pass that morning and it caused me to be 3 hours late for a 10:00 am appointment. When I arrived they had some people in the office purchasing the volvo I drove for 6 hours to look at. They told me tough luck. That same day Portland had a tornado touch down in North Portland. I know because I got caught in it after driving from Everett to Portland to purchase another car. Oh did I mention that I bought A Jaguar from them last year. Did I mention that Its illegal to cancel a verbal contract without 24 hours notice. Did I mention that by the time I got to Portland to purchase car from honest people that I had been driving for 11 hours. Ian the salesman told me he remembered me from last year when I bought the Jaguar from them. He was the lot boy last year when I bought the Jag. I am a 66 year old man going through cancer treatment and these people put me through this. All these facts are true and verifiable. Let me know if I can enlighten you further.

Was amazing i told the guy what i could afford and he kindly showed me to the best cars i could afford no trying to dicker me up to a lease he got right down to his bottom line and gave me a car i could afford and what a smmoth running mercury for under 2500 all said and done i was out the door licenced and tabbed for under 3k and it has low millage and is a great car so far loving the deal i got.

Recently bought a nissan altima from here, and overall was a very good experience. I wasnt pressured while looking around, the gentleman I interacted with was friendly and willing to work with me. Ill recommend them to friends in the future, to at least check out their inventory.I see a lot of bad reviews for used car dealerships in general, and 90% of them could have been solved by having a certified mechanic check out the car, BEFORE buying it. I did, and was able to negotiate a lower price because of a few minor things that needed fixing! ALWAYS do this when buying ANY used car.

Bought a low mileage car here. Within two weeks of owning the car failed to start. Mechanic at PepBoys took it apart and found 11 yr old spark plugs that were flooded, serpentine belt needed replacing, fuel filter was bad, and had a broken motor mount that needed fixing. All told $1,600 in repairs for a $7,000 car. No help from Checkered Flag, just a wow, thats expensive when I called.

Bad bad. Overpriced on a lemon. No where near kbb or Edmunds pricing. Had my vehicle for a little over a year now and within that time had to replace tires, multiple sensors, transmission, spent a ton of money on electrical repair. I seen a few of these issues before buying, but no warranty? Not even a price drop?
