Very much enjoyed my first ever visit to this establishment in Fairborn Ohio. Pleasant atmosphere with a nostalgic feel. The food is delicious tasting with a great variety of items on their menu to order. Drinks were plentiful as the amazing friendly wait staff kept the patrons happy with their attentiveness to their needs. I cant wait to return and try another great selection from their menu.
I eat here often.I love supporting our small businesses.The food is fantastic; the portions are humongous. You get enough to eat there and enough leftover to take home. What really makes the place stand out are the people.The cook seasons everything to perfection. The servers spoil you with their attention to detail. The hostess Sunday evening was Lexus. She was professional, friendly, and quick. This place and its workers are a definite asset for Fairborn!
1st visit. Our server, Kelly, was perfect. Friendly & helpful. Everything on their huge menu is appealing however I decided to go with a large biscuit & gravy. 3 biscuits smothered in flavorful sausage gravy with crispy has browns. Mmm. Wife had the Hungry Man because she wanted pancakes and bacon. Scrambled eggs were great as well. We live an hour away but well plan to visit frequently. It was that good!
Depending on how often we go to Fairborn is when we eat there. We have been eating there at least twice a week. Always friendly service and great prices for what you get.
The service was great. There was different about the meatloaf, but overall its a place we will go back too.
Food is okay for what it is. The servers try way too hard for their tip. Pop is flat. Seats are torn. Place is dirty. Wont be back.

The food was good and the portions were okay. The prices are a little steep for what you get. The same thing I get for $6.99 at Dennys was $8.99.

Great local restaurant. The specials are by far the best specials I have ever had at any restaurant! Besides the specials there is great food for the whole family. The food is good and the staff nice the down side it can very busy on weekend. Now 5 stars; why the staff makes it so nice to visit along with the food. If you dont like to eat a lot then share a plate!Update: all the soups are amazing!
For a local diner it’s just what you would expect. There’s nothing really special to it, there’s a wide variety of food which is nice. I’ve been here for years through many different owners and staff. They just seem like people who are they’re too be there not people who love there job. I think that’s the biggest issue is they need to bring up the quality over quantity. Other than that I greatly recommend the Chicken Parmesan.

Prime rib was one of the specials. Absolutely NO flavor, over cooked and tough. Normally good food here but this was not!
The steak had no seasoning on it, I do not know what was wrong with the coleslaw, the fries are soggy and unsalted, but on a good note the one mushroom that came with it was very good. Will not come back to this place ever again. Before covid it was delicious after covid well lets just say like the virus, its very sick!!!

When we first went 3yrs ago, it was great, we tried tonight and it was terrible. I ordered the broiled tilapia meal and my husband had a steak, Very bland, and overall very poor quality. We wont be back.
The food was very good and the portions was huge. The place was clean, although the restrooms could use some updating. My only complaint was service. They had a decent crowd the night we was there, approximately 30 people. But with 2 servers that shouldnt be a huge issue. I understand they are trying to hire some more experienced servers so I will give it a few weeks and try it again and tweak my review.

Small town dinners are sadly disappearing.But in Fairborn Oh.we have The Fairborn Family Diner ! I try to stop by 2 or 3 days a week. The food is also good, hot and cooked the way you ask for it. You cant beat their dinner specials. AND theres NO need to go to Cracker Barrelif you want breakfast for dinner ! You can do that at FFD ! Come on by and check it out . I highly recommend the homemade Chicken Soup!

Actually they have real good food, and believe it or not, a lot of their food is homemade, they prep from scratch, I recommend anyone who hasnt eaten there to try it, guarantee satisfaction 👍💯

Weve ordered from the Fairborn family diner several times now on doordash and each time items have been missing from our order. The way that their menu on doordash is set up is so convoluted theres no description so you have no idea what you get with your food. For example with an entree do you get a starch and a veg and a salad because the way that its set up in the ordering system is order one side with your meal so every time we order additional sides and they never come. I dont know if theyre not paying attention I dont know if its an issue with the doordash interface but whatever it is it makes ordering from the Fairborn family diner really really frustrating because the food is actually pretty good
All you can eat catfish on Friday is a must!! Also all you can eat chicken and dumplings is a just on Sunday, just make sure your there early!

This place has got the most phenomenal food! We have stopped in there towards evening oh, in the morning, in the afternoon and the food is always consistent! Chicken and dumplings on Sunday are absolutely the best I have ever had! Friday fish day the deep fried catfish I love the best the purse is very good but I love the catfish, french fries always come out hot! Sometimes the service is a little bit slow I dont understand that but overall I would recommend this place to anybodyThe waitress we always try to get it is Kelly she is awesome!

I ordered the hungry man breakfast. It came with 2 pancakes that were very good, 2 pieces of thick cut bacon, 2 sausage links and what was described as 2 eggs scrambled but looked big enough to be 3 eggs. All were cooked perfectly and was very tasty. The waitress was friendly and very good at making sure everything was right and refills taken care of. The prices were reasonable, restaurant was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this place.

Very unprofessional owner or manager. The waitress spilled a whe glass.of water all over me.All I got was an apology and had to sit there soaked. We hadnt even ordered our meal yet. Going on the waitresses recommendation 3 if us got the strip steak meal. It was very thin not the 1/2 - 1 inch she had told us. There was so much fat on the steaks it wasnt very good. My onion rings and my husbands French fries tasted like chemical. As if they were in the middle of cleaning the deep fryer and forgot to rinse it out. When we left to pay the owner/manager was not very pleasant when I brought up the water incident. When I asked what she intended to do about it she looked at me and said nothing.i asked again and told her most restaurants take a little off the check or compensate the meal. She said no restaurant does that. I have run plenty of restaurants and yes, we do compensate for bad service or an incident.This place is bad from the building to the food....

Got there after 8 pm, when take out is no longer available. Got seated & served and it was very sweet of them to do this for me. Ordered the manicotti with meatballs. Garlic bread came with it. They were out of salad so I ordered the chicken noodle soup.Ate the delicious pasta & garlic bread. Had Sprite to drink. Got another Sprite to go along with the chicken noodle soup. Pleasant visit considering they were getting ready to close & go home.Another customer had lost their diamond ring. The guy cleaning their booth found it. Maybe Ill get a reward he said. The reward for the rest of the patrons was his honesty! What a great guy!Got outta there & got home safely. Terrific place. Absolutely love it there. Breakfast is awesome and reasonably priced. Need to go again soon! Gonna take my parents next time, so they can enjoy it!

The wife and I decided to try their meatloaf since our first option was unavailable. It was horrible. First, it was drowned in gravy (which Im told is common?). We decided to scrape that off which was our second mistake since the gravy was the only thing palettable about the loaf. The meat basically tasted like cardboard. The whole ordeal turned us both off and my wife couldnt even finish her mashed potatoes which I thought were still pretty good. I dont know what the rest of their menu is like but I hope this was an isolated incident.

Always a good quality meal at a decent price. It is one of those gems you never hear about. While it may be a little rough on the outside looking, you will find a diamond in its waitresses and food.

This restaurant is absolutely one of the finest restaurants in the neighborhood. Whenever I go there I am exceedingly pleased. They maintain their very high level service and the topmost level of cooking they offer. You are always happy with this restaurant. Highly recommended.

I ordered from this place tonight for the first time. I had my food delivered through DoorDash. The food was good. However, they got my order wrong. I ordered the country fried steak dinner with mashed potatoes, side salad, and stewed tomatoes. What I got was half the order right; country fried steak, mashed potatoes and salad but no stewed tomatoes. Instead, along with 1/2 of what i ordered, was corn, mixed vegetables, and a big salad. A lot of food. The food was very good. Salad was fresh and ranch dressing tasted like homemade. The steak was a little overcooked but not bad. Good in fact. The gravy was excellent. Everything was packed up great. I don’t understand getting an order wrong when it’s right there on their screen. Anyway, I need make it right because I don’t think I was charged for everything. I’ll definitely order from them again and will probably try dining in. Not bad at all. Just got the order 1/2 right. My only complaint.
Came here for second time. We ordered breakfast. It was really good, but was luke warm. Our waitress was great. She kept checking on us. I wish I got her name.
I celebrated my PhD last night in this great restaurant. I am glad to say that it was a awesome evening and the place was clearly the reason for the successful celebration. The waiters helped in a very nice style, the cuisine was appetizing and my friends were so happy. We shall no dout come back again for more events. Thank you very much.

Ordered the prime rib because I mean how can you go wrong right? no! it looked and tasted like they microwaved it! potatoes tasted like they were cooked on a dirty skillet. sandwich was dry. I was very disappointed. I try to support local businesses but this restaurant looks like it gave up way before my review
At the first moment you come to this place the stuff gives you a good feeling. Very friendly waiters, it is a lovely place to go out with friends and colleagues or with your date. delightful food, talented chief cook and stuff, good pay and nice service. Highly recommended.
