Ordered some toys online from this store. Was very pleased with the selection available and the fast shipping. Also had a handwritten thank you note on the sales receipt. Very good customer service, can only imagine it would be even better in person!

Real quick visit to Michigan had to do and see as much as I could. Hanging out in Ferndale, I looked up Baby shopping and this location popped on the radar while driving and made a u-turn to get there. Happy I did.Parked on nine nine mile road and walked in this well kept, original unique baby shop. I’m not usually shopping in this category so fortunately Sean was there happy & ready to greet. I asked directly what I was searching for and he walked me around the shop showing me the varieties, styles and explaining to me what’s hot, different ideas for gifts.I saw right away the items I liked. Spent some time deciding on a couple things in the mix after and met John at the counter to pay and exit. Also helpful, answered my questions and I learned they also will wrap and have cards available. Sean killed it in the wrapping game and was very happy with my overall experience there. More childhood friends are having kids and who knows for me.... I’ll definitely recommend what’s available here and be back when in town. Really cool store.

Came to look at car-seats. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they are doing. The products are their shelves are carefully curated. We ended up buying a car-seat, running stroller, and baby mattress. My wife and I had walked there, so we planned to come pick up our purchases the next day... but the owner (I think) personally dropped off everything at our front door on his way home. I have not experienced this level of customer service outside of Japan. A++!!!!

Very nice selection of quality and VERY cute baby gear and essentials without being overwhelming like huge chain stores. They even have those fun hand puppets which I think I need to buy for my husband as he was very nostalgic about them haOwner John and his staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Might be a bit pricier than the chain stores, but they carry higher end items that you wont find at the big stores and have obviously hand picked some of the best items available on the market that you dont have to worry about researching since theyve done it for you. In fact, I compared some of the pricing with big box stores and they were no different.Since I live on the other side of the state I rely on their online site which hand quite a few items out of stock or the color I wanted. I think (hope) I can call and order it though.You also receive good advice from experienced parents and help support local business which is great. They have a baby registry and ship free for items over a certain amount so you cant beat it!

I love this store so freaking much, they always offer to help and have lots of knowledge on all the products they sale. They are super helpful, kind and omg all the cute stuff they carry I really recommend shopping there if you are a new parent or even if you have older kids they have something for everyone.

This place is the BOMB DOT COM! Seriously. Every single employee in an expert in every item in the entire store and it amazes me. John knows detailed information about every single gear item in the store.They have oodles of high quality toys and the employees are always so happy. Clearly they enjoy doing what they are doing.We have supported Modern Natural Baby for years and we will continue to do so.

Came in shopping for a stroller and car seat. Staff was helpful. We purchased both. They Installed the car seat base and gave us a lesson on all the items purchased. They carry high end quality products. This is not the place for an inexpensive Graco, This is the place for higher quality brands and stylish baby products and gear. My only complaint is the store itself is in disrepair, which I’m sure is the fault of the building owner and not the store owner. I’m sure they rent the space, However the ceiling tiles were stained and dirty from years of leaking. Honestly it was gross. It was a bit of a distraction to be among high end products in a building that was run down and in need of repairs. That being said, I’m not buying the store, I’m there for the products and service which were great so I tried to look past it. I’m sure they could attract more business with repairs to the ceiling and maybe a flooring update.

Every single one of the employees I have met here are absolutely fantastic. I could not for the life of me decide between two convertible car seats, I became obsessed with looking up everything there was to know about the seats and I even came into the store on three different days to see both of these car seats in my car. Every time I came to the store I never once felt rushed, or like I was annoying them with my repetitive questions and wanting to install and uninstall the car seats in my car in every seat possible ! John, Dana, and Emily are extremely knowledgeable and helpful and I feel confident I made the right choice and that I have the knowledge to properly install the car seat I purchased. Highly recommend them! Plus, it’s better buying something in store, with friendly employees, that supports a small business with competitive prices. Thank you guys for such a pleasant experience.

I cannot say enough good things about this store and the people who work there. The owner John is absolutely amazing. I have only been there twice so far but I am a life long customer because of their customer service and quality products.My first trip to the store, I was interested in a stroller. Not only do they offer one-on-one appointments, but John let me in before the store opened to accommodate my schedule. This is above and beyond IMO. I was not pressured into a purchase and he is very knowledgeable in the products sold here. I ended up purchasing a Nuna Demi Grow and love it.My second trip to the store was no less than spectacular. I received the Nuna Pipa carseat from my baby shower and wanted a second base for my husbands car. I again made an appt with John and he went beyond my expectations. He not only showed us how to install the carseat in all the possible ways, but he also gave us a lesson in properly bucking in a child. I felt so comfortable and confident leaving the store, and as first time parents this is invaluable.I absolutely recommend this business and it is my go-to for baby gear. I dont live close, but it is well worth the drive.

Incredible experience. This quaint little shop is beautiful and thoughtfully stocked with a wide variety of eco friendly, natural and non-toxic baby and children’s products. Selection was broad and service was beyond excellent. I am so thankful to have this wonderful local gem right in our neighborhood. We will most definitely be back!

MNB is the best! They clearly only sell products they believe in, and every employee seems to have extensive knowledge on everything in store. I have yet to make a bad purchase here. Modern Natural Bab has always been an exceptional store. Modern Natural Baby has something for everyone from babies to adults. They are a great supporter of Ferndale schools and the Ferndale community. They are doing an amazing job during this stay at home order. I ordered the Eeboo puzzles (3 of them!). The MNB staff delivered to my house within two days! The puzzles are beautiful! Eeboo is a woman based company, they use recycled paper for the pieces and the ink is vegetable based. The pieces are solid and the perfect size. I cant wait to put them together!

Ive been going here since my first child - 3 years ago and the staff is way more friendly now than before.Im not sure who the lady with dark hair is - but her aura is very off. I though I knew about healing beads when she asked me and she gave off a annoyed attitude about me not knowing anything about it :( later while she was carrying a her sleeping child in a carrier, when my kid made a peep-she shush her!Other than that lady, the store is amazing, and has a wonderful selection of toys/accessories/cloth diapers. I also like the point system as well ^_^

I visited the store today to get my hands on the Nuna line of baby gear. John, one of the stores owners, took special care to explain all the products I had questions about, help me compare them to other brands, and suggest alternative options for outfitting my first baby. His knowledge and enthusiasm were so appreciated. I am in the process now of changing over my registry items to support this business- oh thats right, they are a local business too!! Great service, beautiful store, wonderful experience!

Staff is great. Products are great. There is a train table and play area in the back. Changing table in the bathroom area. Theres also a points program after spending a bit, a certain percent comes back in the form of a gift certificate after a year, I believe.

The staff at mnb is super knowledgeable about cloth diapering, babywearing, and car seats. The car seat techs are awesome at showing you how to safely install and use your car seats. The toys are fun and my kids love going and playing with the train table and all of the toys they have out.

Everyone at Modern Natural Baby is so helpful and wonderful to work with. They have a great selection of strollers, car seats, and more. As a first time parent, I didn’t even know where to begin when buying a stroller. I knew that I wanted to touch, feel and test out a stroller before buying and I wanted help to learn about the features and functionality. After a quick google search I came across Modern Natural Baby. I stopped by one afternoon and immediately knew this is where I needed to purchase all my baby essentials. Everyone on the staff is so knowledgeable and friendly. They even have car seat techs that will help you pick a car seat and install it correctly in your car. They are the best! I made the mistake of purchasing a car seat that couldn’t be installed properly in my husband’s car (Nuna Pipa in a Lincoln MKZ) but Dana helped us find a car seat that would work and John found a way to connect the new car seat to the stroller (Cleck Liing and Nuna Demi Grow). He even sent me a video showing me how to connect the car seat to the stroller. So above and beyond any service I have ever experienced! I’ll be buying all our baby essentials from here from now on and telling as many people as I can this is the best one stop shop for baby gear. Added bonus, they are located on 9 mile in Ferndale, so you can shop then go have a great dinner downtown!

Loved this place.

I first visited this store yesterday with my 3 little boys and my husband. We had SUCH a positive, wonderful experience! We originally stopped in to check out a Wobbel balance board in person because of the craftsmanship and sustainable materials. We are a zero waste family and try to buy everything secondhand without any packaging or sustainable products if we absolutely cant find them secondhand and have to buy them new. I asked if any of the floor model toys were ever sold and if so, if we could buy them. We have been looking for secondhand Tegu blocks for a year and have had a hard time finding any used that are priced any lower than the new sets. The Tegu blocks sets in store were already marked down to 30% off, which we were excited about, but when the lady heard that we were zero waste, she made a phone call to ask if she could sell us the sample blocks. She confirmed that she could and sold us the set at an even more discounted rate due to the slight wear from being played with. We were so thrilled to have secondhand toys without packaging and were so grateful for the lengths she went to to serve us. Thank you so much, ladies! We will be back!

Ive enjoyed coming into shop, but just havent enjoyed some employees or the owner liking antivax posts on FB. I know natural parenting is full of some quirky people but Im not comfortable bringing my children into a shop where people running it are openly antivaxxers.

The products are amazing and loved the store however the service was not friendly and waited at an empty register for well over 15 minutes.

Best quality cloths and other stuff, I love their products all are good.

I drive quite a distance to come to this store, it always seems when I come on a Saturday the road is always closed for some sort of event. ( Im not from the area) No big deal I just park really far away and walk really far so I can be greeted by a HUGE wall of fluffy cloth diaper goodness! Ive had Ok service here, one day the lady working there wasnt very friendly and didnt talk to me at all until I was checking out. The other time I was here the service was much more pleasant and the lady said she was glad to see I had my son properly restrained in his car seat(lol). Anyways I also got some awesome deals both times and I loved looking at all the Tulas and jujube products. They have a HUGE selection and a play area for the kids while you shop. Very nice, wish you guys were closer to me, but for now I visit whenever Im in the area for doctor appointments.
