Great home style cooking.One of the best places in the local area to eat.Monster size shrimp was delicious.
Hands down the best steaks in the area, even better than Tuscan or Perkys. They put New London to shame. The service is outstanding. Sharon is our favorite server, and shes worth the wait any night. They have the best salads ever, and the sweet tea is heavenly. Im not a fan of the Alfredo sauce; however, when everything else they serve is a hit, they can afford to have one dish that is a miss.
Would have given it a 5 but you posted on your menu homemade banana pudding... sorry I dont call instant pudding mix and some kind of vanilla wafer.... until you actually make any of your deserts from scratch its not homemade... good try... but your main dishes are great π... but this is just my opinion π
Has western decor casual dining. Good service. Food prices are $$ out of $$$. Has steaks and several country style meat selections. Lots of good sides to choose from.
Enjoyed the food! The waitress did a wonderful job. We did a 89 birthday for my mother who enjoyed the food, too. But the toilet was too low for her to use, because she has bad knees.
AMAZING breakfast place, the food was outstanding, the service was even better! Such a wonderful staff.The atmosphere is great ant the paintings on the wall are breathtaking.Kudos to the owners for closing for 3 days to give your wonderful staff a break. Everyone who is working in this industry is tired due to being short staffed. So awesome you put your people first.
AWESOME food, very friendly service and everything came out quick and cooked just right! I saw a lot of regulars in there and for good reason. I myself will definitely be coming back here any chance I get! This place rules.
Both entrees were yummy with large servings. Cost is appropriate.Take Out was ready for pickup as stated.Staff greetings were prompt upon arrival.Lots must be going well because the parking lot is busy for all meals.

First time eating here so had high hopes. Bison burger ordered well done came out raw in center. Alfredo is like a Stoffer meal. No salt on anything. Mac and cheese is awful. The fries are delicious though......

Great service, kind, but not intrusive. My omelette included sausage onions and mushrooms and the sausage was very ample and looked like one or two sausage patties had been cut up to fill it which was definitely yummy. The biscuit tasted like it was made from scratch. My husband got the French toast. she felt like it tasted a little fried, but I tasted it and he reminded me of dunkable French toast sticks which I found delightful--it certainly depends on how you like your French toast.
Had not been to the Colonial since they remodeled. My Wife and Iwent there for lunch on Wednesday, and was it ever good! My Wife had the biggest piece of fried catfish I have seen in a long time! I had the hit hamburger with fries and a side of mac-n-cheese. That was some of the best mac-n-cheese ever!!!! It was all fantastic, as well as the service. There is no doubt that we will be returning soon, and often. Little bit of a drive from Madison Heights, but absolutely worth it! Reasonable prices, great food, friendly wait staff, very attentive owner/manager, and a clean,welcoming atmosphere! What more could you ask forπ Highly recommend!

Ate lunch at The Colonial Saturday May 8th. Had the Hamburger Steak with Fries and Mac & Cheese. Was delicious would highly recommend it. A young lady named Amber was our waiter she was amazing. Polite as good be and didnt even have to write down what we ordered.

I was very surprised at how nice this restaurant was! Once you walk inside youre like wow! The place is clean has a very nice bar. Theres very friendly and nice service, plus it has GREAT comfort/southern food!! I really enjoyed the meal that my mother-in-law had here about a week ago. We did not have to wait long and everything was hot and tasted delicious! I will definitely be back again soon-

This was our second time here traveling through. I cant say enough about this place! The food is great, service is excellent and there is a wonderful hometown feel about this place. We actually live about an hour and 15 mins from here but are thinking about making the drive on a regular just to eat!
I should have taken pictures, but breakfast always looks like breakfast. Great stop on long journey. Got hostess and waitstaff with fun personalities. So whole hog sausage. Itβs a patty. I kept looking for the squeal to make it whole. Loved potatoes and onions. Pancake sweet on itβs on. Wifeβs cooked apples perfect. Donβt need half the syrup they serve. Got coffee for the road and kept rolling.
Food was not good. My son got a hotdog & took one bite and was done. I got a corn dog thinking you could not.possibly mess that up but ugh... I gave it another try recently in the past I didnt like it and still dont til this day. Most people I know love it & it could be perfect for you. Just not a place I enjoy.

We are regulars at Colonial and todays service & food were horrible! For starters the table had water puddled up on it. (No big deal), our severs attitude was horrible. I ordered the grilled chicken breast, with a baked potato, & salad (my usual). Our salads were tiny. They only filled the bowl MAYBE 1/4 of the way. The chicken had so much salt on it that the salt was visible on top. I took 2 bites and it was just too salty. I attempted several times to get the wait staffs attention; however, they only stood behind the bar oblivious. Grandmother didnt complain because of the staffs poor attitude. She ordered the same thing as I did. Her chicken was also extremely salty & her potato was not done; however, she was afraid to complain & did not eat much of it. (No customer should feel like this.) Someone else took my replacement meal order; however, her attitude was worse than our original servers.My biggest concern was the drinking glasses. I didnt notice until I had chugged my tea due to the 2 bites of salty chicken and saw the glass was still dirty! There was a filmy white residue on the glass. (I was nauseous by then) I had to wave down a random server and asked for clean glasses. Our original server simply refilled my dirty glass. We were sitting at the front of the restaurant & watched her do this. I again asked for a clean glass. . Our waitress did not bring it. I ended up asking another server for a fresh glass of tea with ice. That glass was also dirty, which I did not touch. Grandmothers glass was also dirty, which she did not drink either, after asking for another. When my replacement order arrived, the person that brought it seemed annoyed that I asked for steak sauce & she slammed it onto the table. (Maybe an honest mistake but at this point I doubt it.) I did bring the dirty glass ware to our first servers attention; however, she did not seem concerned at all. (At this point 3 employees were aware of the dirty glasses.) She did not bother to offer us anything else to drink either. So we both sat thirsty.. A fourth person came by our table & I also told her of the dirty glasses but all she did was tell our original waitress, who again did nothing. I only ate about half of the hamburger steak that ordered bc I had lost my appetite by this time. This is a huge concern considering Covid is still around & I know this is not Colonials operating standards; however, tonights experience was the WORST that we have ever experienced as regular customers. Needless to say the young wait staff acted like they were too bothered to actually do their jobs & wanted to be anywhere but there. Right after I pulled out onto 29, we stopped at the gas station up the road to get something to drink. I truly hope this issue will be addressed by the owner, considering there was no apparent management available at 5:30 p.m on a Saturday evening.... I did take photos that I will be glad to share with the owner & management.

We enjoy the atmosphere in the front area and the ladies are always friendly and sweet. We did try the filet mignon today but were not impressed, we are serious about our steaks and it was not up to our standards. The meat was tender but the cut was too thin to allow for a true medium steak, the flavor was bland and not what you would expect with a filet cut. However, the cowboy bites, hush puppies, fries and chicken tenders are all amazing and do not disappoint, we highly recommend this restaurant just not for steakπ
My family met here for my sisters 55th birthday celebration. It was about 25/30 of us there. We had the sweetest, most patient waitress Ive ever met name Amber!!! She made our celebration the best it could have been just by how nice and patient she was. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who has a large party mixed with kids and grown ups π€ππ

Good ol fashioned southern food done right. I got the chicken fried steak with gravy which was sooo delicious, but I feel like you cant go wrong with all of the great options and sides available. Must stop for hungry travellers.
