We worked with Michael Hartman to find our new boat. It was great working with Michael. He was very patient, never pretended like he knew things that he didnt, and was very professional. We would recommend Michael in a heartbeat and have already recommended him.The brokers who are knowledgable get buyers into hot water. They tell you whatever it takes to get the sale done, leaving the buyer having to deal with issues after the broker is gone. We learned from our terrible experience dealing with Larry from Just Catamarans, buying our first boat. He knew everything, and nothing was an issue. Terrible.Michael is the right guy. Anyone buying a boat should be researching, researching, and researching.Unfortunately, the entire closing and registration process was extremely painful, and communication was very unprofessional. We were essentially forced to register in Jamaica because the closing people didnt have any other viable options (or knowledge). So we paid $5,303.00 for the closing and registration -- and later found out that that was only for a 6-month registration. So be aware, Luke Brown closing and registration may be the most frustrating part.
Michael Hartman of Luke Brown Yachts was a real surprise. He did not know the most obvious issues as I have learned after touring with professional brokers. I was more of a newbie in purchasing larger boats. I found a boat online and asked Michael Hartman of South Florida torepresent me as a buyer. After visiting the boat we made a game plan on the purchase. This was going to be my first purchase of two boats. After finding the right surveyor for a Tiara, which Mr. Hartman did not know, my attorney introduced me. I drove two hours to meet at 8 am in order to have the engine survey/ hull surveyed First item of concern was no generator?! Within one hour of the 8 hour survey, it was agreed upon by the surveyors that between no generator And engines ($50k in issues ) The Tiara was not worth it. The boat was $75k. As I have learned it was so obvious that the generator was missing and the engines where broken, leaky mess, dangerous for the taking into the bay. Beyond that the owner of the yacht announced at the beginning of the survey, what were we doing at the place ??!! There would be no hull out because of the wind which had been blowing for days. Micheal Hartman of South Florida should have known better. Mike Hartman is a from Broward County Florida of Luke Brown Yachts blamed everybody except me and himself. He should have blamed me for choosing him. Mike Hartmann of Luke Brown Yachts did not notice the boat did not have a generator ?! He talks honest and smooth, but you need knowledge.
