Great Facilities. I was very impressed with Defender Outdoors. This is the 5 Star Resort of Gun Ranges. I was told about this place by a Buddy, and I didn’t know what to expect. I was blown away. Staff was Great, love the Rifle Range. AND!!!! it was cheaper than every other range I have been to! CRAZY!!

Really nice facility! Greatest staff ! Honestly the nicest Gun range I’ve been too ! They take fantastic care of military veterans like myself. First responders and law enforcement too. The wonderful Lady’s behind the gunsmith counter Cheyenne & Sedona really shined today. My new H&K 9 jammed twice due to the worst ammo ever made that a “friend” gave me ?? Sedona cleared the barrel twice for me which could have led to a catastrophic failure. I was great full ! I’ll be getting a membership and you have made me a member for life thanks again guys !!

Absolutely stellar range, shop, and experience! The staff was very helpful, friendly, and courteous. The facility is top notch and the retail area is well supplied with everything you could want. Will definitely return soon!

Great place to start especially if you’re a newbie like me. It’s not hard to get overwhelmed or even a little intimidated. Great facility, really nice range that is huge, and great instructors. I got my first month membership this month. Ive taken two instructional courses so far. I took AR-15 101 and Texas license to carry. Edwina Parker and Clint are fantastic and very professional. I have learned a ton and become much more efficient with both rifle and handgun thanks to them. I look forward to learning more!!

Thieves. They took my money a year ago for a pistol they had on the range wall for a year. No eta after three months, no eta after six months, no eta after nine months. Covid, I get it, even though they buy direct from the Springfield dealer. Last time I spoke to someone it was 3-6 months. They buy and sell guns daily, and have no leverage to get a pistol a year later. Went in to ask again, figured they’d at least see the issue, guy pulls out his cell while I’m talking. Pretty sure the legal definition is theft

My first and second experiences were great at Defender! Let me start off by saying that the LTC signup and process was very smooth and very easy. (I am licensed to carry in other states and Defender’s process was my favorite by far)I recently became a member yesterday because I wanted to enjoy the benefits of online scheduling and bringing guests for free and also utilize the two free FFL transfers I get.My second experience at Defender was simply amazing. I started off in the rifle lane because I needed to zero in my new rifle. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know what I was doing, so before trying to figure it out on my own I decided to ask the range master for some help and tips. This guy went above and beyond to help us. He taught us a few tips and tricks to save as much ammo as possible. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. We then went to the pistol lanes. Fired a few rounds with my handgun and the rifle as well. Such a blast. Literally.

Went in to get my fingerprints done for my LTC and ended up staying for about an hour. Alex, a sales associate was very helpful. He answered all my questions, showed us around, took the time to show us several pistols, and explain their membership packages.He went above and beyond to make sure we were educated on any questions we had. They definitely have earned my business. Been a long time since we have had such good customer service.

Having booked a firearms training class at this business, I looked forward to learning from their staff. Unfortunately I was called away the morning before class at 1:30AM and could not attend. When I tried to reschedule,after returning from my primary job, I was informed by the director of training that due to the policy of Defender Outdoors I would not be able to reschedule without paying another full fee for the class. While the store itself is a premium dealer, their policies are stringent to the point of inflexible. Buyer beware. I will and recommend to all, that they seek service elsewhere.

Great range. Looks to have good rental selection of firearms also.. The wash station right outside the range door is a plus also.. Only downside noted was they allow rifles in the same range as pistols so while trying to get my wife comfortable with her pistol the rifle shots kept her on edge.

Stopped by Defender to use their Silencer Shop Kiosk and ended up being in there for about 45 minutes after using the kiosk. I was amazed by their inventory as well as their prices. Its refreshing to see an establishment not hiking their prices in these times of high demand. Will certainly be back soon to make some purchases as they have as much if not more inventory than any website I have found recently. Staff was all very friendly and great to talk to!

I cant stress enough how amazing this store is. Before the ammo shortage I was coming every Saturday. I have the Hero package so I was able to reserve a lane and never had trouble when checking in. Its definitely worth the price if you are a first responder or veteran. I highly suggest getting it. The perks are worth it! I specifically want to mention Taylor Featherston for her professionalism and courteous attitude towards me and a particular situation that arose. She treated me with utmost respect and even thanked me for being a Police Officer. They have ammunition and guns still so come in and youll be surprised at how awesome this business is.

I went with my brothers and we had an awesome time! The gun sales team was so helpful I wish I could remember the guys name but they all definitely know their guns! The guy who helped me shop around gave me some options for guns that are in stock. I’ll be back ASAP to find my future gun!

First time here and very impressed! Wide variety of firearms and ammunition. Different ranges for different weapons. Very reasonably priced for using the ranges and even their inhouse weapons. Will definitely come back again soon!

Amazing place.. I recently moved here and found this store and range. Employees are friendly, especially Monte.. The checkout process is a little slow because its always busy. Great place and worth the wait.

Staff is awesome. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Ranges are well kept. Membership is well worth it if you shoot regularly and comes with some nice perks.

British Tourists On Holiday!Absolutely loved this place. After getting a discount card from the staff for first use of the range and rental etc it came to about £40 for a pistol (Glock 19) with 50 rounds.The range safety officer Sam Moore was an absolute legend and allowed us a magazine each on a Carl Gustov m/45 when he learnt we where tourists. What an absolute gem. 100% worth a visit!!!

Defender is always a great experience but today was exceptional. The range officer, Jeremiah, took some time to show me a couple of things about the range that was new to me. Nice service experience.

This is by far the best gun store and shooting range ive ever been to! Sales people are amazing... selection and prices on firearms and ammo is outstanding and the range is bonkers! By far my favorite place to do all things related to firearms and shooting. And did I mention you dont have to wait in line to look at guns? They are all out on displays for you to check out at your leisure. Highly recommend!

Friendly and very professional staff. It was my first time at this range today, and I got better guidance from the RSOs here than I have gotten taking advanced classes. Everyone from the first person I encountered walking in to the last person I spoke to as I was leaving was extremely helpful. There are a couple of ranges that are closer, but this experience is worth the drive. I will definitely be going back and most likely joining.

From the moment we walked in every person spoke to us with a greeting and an offer to help. No matter where we went to look, someone would approach and offer assistance in a professional manner and leave us looking with an open invitation of bringing them back at any time by saying, my name is ******* let me know if you need anymore help After looking around the amazing store we checked in for full auto Friday......only 1 word can describe this experience.....amazing. For only $10.00 a magazine, you purchase how ever many tickets (exchanged for loaded mags on the range) you wish to shoot and are escorted to the range. The employee at the range is waiting for you to arrive like your VIP and greets you with a cabinet of full auto firearms. Pick what you want to start with and he walks you through the process. Ensures your safety with hands on, one on one focus.....we had the most fun shooting ever thanks to Defender and their employees! As we were leaving noticed they had a simulation firing range, they allowed us to go in and check it out and it was hands down amazing as well. Pictures are posted of both ranges.

Absolutely incredible experience, the staff is not only nice but extremely knowledgable. We didnt get everyones names (EVERYONE was incredible) but Sadona and Jesse were at least two we can name as incredibly helpful and knowledgable. The range officers help and show you vital tips. We brought our 11 and 17 year old and they loved it. Our 17 year old had a birthday today and one of the officers let him shoot a gun from 1965 to celebrate. Ive been to one other range in dfw and it was not even in the same league as this one. We will definitely be back.

I love this place so much. I have gone through my entire experience of owning a handgun here, from taking introductory pistol classes to purchasing a handgun to obtaining my LTC and ongoing training. The staff here are awesome and are extremely helpful, from helping you buy a firearm to helping you train. I am now purchasing another firearm from them and they were extremely helpful in that process as well. I cannot write enough good things about them, just a solid place. Thank you guys!

I contacted Defender Outdoors looking for a specific make and model of handgun. Karen answered all our questions on the phone, she was extremely professional and fully customer service oriented. Once I arrived at the location the store was very impressive in appearance. Jun greeted me and helped me with all my questions and assisted in identifying and ordering exactly what I wanted. Jun was extremely knowledgeable and very customer oriented. I was thoroughly impressed with my experience and would highly recommend Defender Outdoors to others.

It is my favorite place to go every other weekend. I got a new AR pistol and Adam was great and helped me sight it and aim sooo much better.Clinton is also my go to trainer when I need extra help! He is patient and makes it fun.

A great learning experience for this gun newbie. Anthony was knowledgeable, patient, and friendly and went the extra mile to ask others the answer to questions I threw at him. I ended up buying a shotgun and the transaction and paperwork were handled efficiently. I also bought a membership and look forward to spending time at the range and training classes real soon. Very spacious gun range and retail store. Treated with respect from the check-in counter all the way to the RO’s. 84 yard indoor rifle range was unique (unheard of in North Texas). The only flaw is that the bench rests are not long enough to accommodate your elbow for rear support. I suppose laying prone would work if ok’d by the RO.

Great spot to purchase firearms, ammo, accessories, gun-smithing, and range time. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Facilities are super clean and very accommodating. DO has everything from home defense, hunting, and even sitka clothing line (lots of other brands of clothing and wearables as well). Jack is super helpful and the staff was very helpful as well. Nothing but great things to say about the location, facility, and staff. I’ll definitely be back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great store, great products and extremely friendly employees

My husband and I just left defender outdoors interested in getting our LTC and doing our qualification testing. When we first walked in, we stopped at the front desk to ask - the associate Hannah was extremely rude and when we asked she literally just said “online”, when I asked another question she again responded “it’s online”. We walked into the store and looked online on the phone at available dates for maybe 2 min and then decided because she was not helpful we would leave - as we were walking out a gentleman Anthony stopped us and asked if we needed help, we told him our original reason for coming in and he was literally one of the best customer experiences we had ever had. He went way out of his way to give us a tour of the facility, we saw the instructor Edwina teaching and she seemed very sweet, patient and knowledgeable. He showed us the room clearing area that we mentioned wanting to sign up for and even went over ALL of the benefits of membership. WE WILL BE SIGNING UP FOR OUR MEMBERSHIP AS SOON AS WE GET HOME because of his great customer service. Thank you defender outdoors for hiring people like Anthony! We can’t wait to join.

Clean, professional, knowledgable staff. My only complaint is the gun cleaning service they provide. I had my gun cleaned after I shot off about 75 to 100 rounds, $20. First time shoothing this weapon. It took them about 25 minutes to field strip and clean the weapon which I thought was a quick turnaround. They did offer to do a more thorough cleaning for $80. I declined. When they handed me back the gun I noticed quite a bit of residue still in the chamber but did not say anything because I had another appointment. Once I got home I did my own cleaning and this is what I came up with as seen in the picture. In a nutshell I highly recommend shooting at this gun range however having the weapon cleaned, may not be the best choice.Update: The Operations Manager contaced me after reading this post. She apologized for the substandard gun cleaning and offered an upgraded gun cleaning at no cost and access to the range facility for a day. This definately tells me Defender is a top notch place striving for customer satisfaction. Im impressed!!

This place is awesome! Yesterday was my first time. I have been to other ranges in the area but nowhere competes. Every one was friendly, helpful, and the place was safe and clean. Recommend it over any other range in Fort Worth.

This was my first time to Defender - and I really liked it. The retail store is one of the better ones Ive seen at a range, for both quantity and selection. We shoot pistols, so we visited the 25 yard indoor pistol range. The range was a good clean indoor 25 yard range with electronic controls for the target hangers. One thing that impressed me was the number of Ranger Officers on duty. As I started unpacking my ammo and gear, the RO noticed I was shooting reloads. He asked to check my ammo, I presume to check for steel core / case which is prohibited. He was polite, quick, and methodical - gave me the thumbs up and that was that. I liked this spot. Id definitely shoot there again if we are in the area.

Good rifle range for windless zeroing. Veterans happy hour discount is always a plus. Will be back to shoot more when they’re not doing temperature checks. Like any good gun owner believe in maximum freedom without violation of civil rights. It is what it is I guess.

***REVISED***since writing this review Defender Ourdoors has reached out to me and has stepped up with outstanding customer service for my issue. Admitting a mistake is difficult but how the business handles the mistake speaks volumes. They not only identified the problem but also took action to ensure that it would not happen again. This shows integrity and responsibility to the customer. I am pleased with the response to my problem and can now vouch that the owner is a Stand-Up guy that cares about the customer.Original post: I Purchased a suppressor and used the SilencerShop Kiosk because i was told it was SO EASY. After 14 months of being told to Just wait, We will call you when its ready and then another few weeks of no response to phone calls or emails, I found out that my transfer was never processed and i get to start the clock at 15 months AFTER submitting all the paperwork, fingerprints and pictures.... Buyer BEWARE. When the staff tells you all done you better check for yourself. I had to call the ATF myself to find out that my transfer was never processed and Defender Outdoors is not taking any responsibility at the moment. This is bad business and an irresponsible way to handle something that is 100% out of the customers control.

Clean and well laid-out facility. Large product selection. Air conditioned range with electronic target carriers that actually work. Efficient and friendly staff.I will be back.

Excellent option for sporting clays in a metro location. Two courses. One easy and one a bit tougher. Nice 5 stand too. Well maintained and well run. Reasonable prices and super friendly staff. Will return for sure.

Really nice people but when we signed up to rent a lane they gave us a three hour estimate sent a text that we’re number 1 in line went back they said it would be another 2 hours and they would text never received a text like i said nice selection of guns and some nice people but i guess they forget real easy.

Purchased a Sousa R.A.I.D. from yall to mount on my Glock. When I went to install I found that not only was the battery missing, but the sight itself was damaged. This was suppose to be a new unit. They would not look at it. Barely gave me any service and told me its a manufacturing issue and I need to take it up with them. I will not be returning for future purchase if the company wont even stand behind merchandise they sale. Poor customer service.

This is a great facility!! I have used the range several times and never had a problem getting a lane, other than a small 10 minute wait. I decided to purchase a suppressor about 7 months ago and very recently found out that Defender Outdoors never sent the Form 4 off to the ATF. After realizing their mistake, the owner Will James, was very apologetic. He explained how he has completely overhauled the way suppressor paperwork and suppressors are tracked and that this wont happen to anyone again. Additionally, he said he couldnt get my time back from the ATF for the Form 4 but he would make it right. And he did!! Will James hit it out of the park by making it right!! Look, mistakes happen, I understand, but it is what the company does after realizing the mistake that sets them apart from others. Will James has earned a customer for life by standing behind his company and doing right by the customer!

Its nice to shoot here but even though i have Shot here once before but i went in to buy a gun... couldnt find a single person to help me. It was not even that crowded only like 2 people out of 12 were helping customers. Ill spend my hard earned money elsewhere

Went in last week to sight my rifle in and boy was I suprised! The range was huge! The range master Joshua was so knowledgeable and experienced that I was able to get it all sighted in with 3 shots! I have a son that has autism, he sat down with Matt and was so patient with him it left me in awh! He had clearly had exerience with working with kids so he gave him a small lesson since we were all alone and made sure we were 100% happy with our experience before we left. Good job defender we will be back since we now have a membership.

BEST GUN SHOP IN FORT WORTH HANDS DOWNMe and my wife are African Americans. Sometimes going places we dont get good customer service because of it. We have to wait a long time before someone acknowledge us and treat us like they want us to hurry up and leave.Not here though the staff is amazing and very welcoming and I cant thank yall enough for that. Just had an awesome time shooting full auto for the first time. Facility is nice, clean, new, and well organized. Staff has always been good to deal with every time Ive been. Prices are fair enough.

Lots of range time after the classroom, very likeable instructor. There were only 9 women, but I would have liked more instruction on the range. Ive also been waiting 10 days for a refund on another class but apparently only an instructor can do that...otherwise I would rated it higher. I will however go back to practice there.

Best gun store & range on this side of the metroplex. I love taking people here for their first visit to Texas, all smiles every time. Bonus is the Stockyards are close by as well

This is by far the best range in the area. The entire staff is extremely polite and knowledgeable. Even helped my wife a whole lot because she is a new shooter and had no idea what gun would be right for her. The associate talked with her and showed her several different guns in different calibers and explained the differences to her so she could make a better choice. Plus the try before you buy is great. Once they narrowed it down to the pistol she wanted we paid $10 to shoot 10 rounds through it and she knew that it was the perfect one for her.The membership fees are very reasonable and I love the fact that you can get a family membership for only $69 which is not that much more than I was paying for a single membership at another range.Defender is an excellent place to go if you are experienced or new to shooting. It is always my first stop when Im looking to buy a new pistol because they have most of the stuff out in the open so you can handle and get a feel for it without having to wait for an associate to show it too you. I recommend everyone go to defender and see for yourself.Thank You Defender for the great 2year anniversary celebration. Cant wait for the next one.

Traveled all the way from Alaska to visit our daughter at TCU. We had never shot any guns before and were looking to have some safe fun. Every employee we came across was very helpful. The two gentlemen at the check-in counter were extremely helpful in helping us choose different guns to try out and the range managers were very knowledgeable. I took my 10 year old daughter to shoot her 17hmr today and I was trying to sight in my .223.... Gavin was our Rifle range boss and I found him to be incredibly helpful! I am a novice gun enthusiast and love coming here. The retail area is updated and attractive. There are plenty of knowledgeable people that are approachable and easy to talk to. Today I tried something more than the pistol range. A range officer helped me zero in my scope on my rifle and went out of the way to help me settle in and feel comfortable. We met and worked with several staff members throughout the process of selecting and purchasing my wifes gun. Each one was professional, knowledgeable, very helpful, and truly enjoyed what they were doing. We really liked that we could try the gun out at the range before purchasing.

The customer service at Defender is impeccable--they go above and beyond to make sure the customer is taken care of. Highly recommend them if you are looking for experts in shooting sports and weapons training. It is a one-stop-shop for all your needs including licensing.

My experience at the Defender Outdoors Shooting Center was very good. The facility is great and staff friendly. The shooting range for handguns & rifles was well lighted with nice target mounts. The system for moving targets down the lane and back was nice and measured your target position from the bench in ft/inches.The Security Range Officers ensured safety and offered patrons useful advice. I felt secure knowing someone was overseeing the safety in the shooting area. I recommend using this facility which offers many services.

Me and a friend came in around 4 on Saturday to rent a pistol and try it out in the pistol range. Was told that they were booked for the rest of the day and to come back earlier tomorrow. Came back today (Sunday) at 11:30 ready to go and was told there was a 2 and a half hour wait. Understandable I didn’t get there as early as I wanted to. They took my number and put me on the wait list. I showed back up about 2 hours and 45 minutes later. The same guy spoke to me and acted as if he never seen me before. Asked if he could help me. I told him I was on the wait list and came back 2 hours and 30 minutes as he instructed. Keep in mind they texted me which place in line I was and I was in first. He then told me there wouldn’t be any lanes available until around 4 and he would text me whenever my spot was available. Guess what he never sent a text. So I show up at 11:30 in the morning and got the run around until closing. Will never shop here again, was planning on getting a membership and purchasing a handgun but I will take my business somewhere else and I recommend you do too.

Nice place love defenders 85 yard range.and the full autos are fun. It’s kinda a toss up for me Texas Gun Experience ranges only got to 50 but the full auto selection is Huge and you can shoot shotguns there and you can use your suppressors there too will you wait on stamp.plus you get the new range smell.

This is probably the best range I have been to. The staff are all very friendly and professional, from the lady advising us on which guns to try out, to the range safety officers.I’d particularly like to thank Jesse, who spent most of our time at the range chatting to us and making us feel welcome, and offering advice as and when needed, he is a credit to your business.Thanks for giving us a great experience, and if we’re ever in Fort Worth again, will definitely pay a visit again.

I have been here 3 other times and finally signed up today for their monthly membership. Great Hero program for Veterans!! Overall this is the BEST indoor range I have ever been to. Firearms a little pricey, but thats to be expected at gun ranges. Ammo prices are right on par. They have a pistol range that you can shoot your AR15/AK47 out to 25 yards and they have a rifle range that goes out to 85 yards. Was able to zero in my rifle with the comforts of being indoors. Facility is very clean and up to date. Staff extremely friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help. Tony is a Great RSO. He is the reason I finally decided to get a membership. Great group of people here. Especially for Vets!

First time at Defender and won’t be the last. Came to get some work done on an old rifle and sight in my AR. Adam was a great help on the rifle range and helped me quickly zero in. He made this visit very enjoyable with his expertise and pointers to improve my shooting. I will update my review once I get my rifle back from the gunsmith. But so far, this is a top notch facility and the people are great.

I had the pleasure of being invited by a good friend of mine to go and check out the range and other amenities that the facility had to offer. I was very pleased with the facility and its customer service. Especially one of the range attendants. His name was Manny. Considering it was my first time to shoot a Colt .45 1911, Manny was well versed in the fire arm and also instructed me how to properly use the firearm!If it was me and I did all over again I wouldnt change a thing and I highly recommend this place and the assistance from Manny that I Got!Now I have another hobby I can add to the list!

Today was my first visit to Defender Outdoors Shooting Center. I would like to say that I have never received such excellent customer service from a shooting range like I experienced today. Once a year, my friend from Vietnam visits and he begs me to take him shooting. My friend felt very comfortable with the staff and he was treated with the utmost respect, even though hes not used to gun culture and gun etiquette (he was safe, he just wanted to touch every single gun in the store, lol).Also, I would like to highlight an employee named Clinton for his excellent communication on the range and his desire to assist us in helping my friend have a memorable experience. Clinton gave my friend some simple advice on stance and sight alignment. My Vietnamese friend really appreciated Clintons kindness. Clinton communicated well with him. My friend connected with Clinton and trusted his advice. Clinton went above and beyond anything I have experienced at a gun range. I was very impressed.Yes, the store is fully equipped and many services are offered to customers, but it was the customer service and culture of honor and respect that caught my attention. Thank you so much for giving us such an amazing memorable experience.
