This store is AMAZING if you are looking for back issues. HUGE inventory on site. I walked in with a list and left with about 30 comics all in GREAT condition and possibly the best prices Ive seen. I then gave the owner my list and he called me about 7 days later to tell me he had another 18. They were set aside for me. See photo. Bronze age X-Men. First Alpha flight. YES at first glance the place looks like wall to wall long boxes - so it can seem intimidating to start browsing and most collectors dont want to ask for help - but once you do, youll lose hours in this place. So fun. The owner continues to buy collections so hes updating stock. I look forward to going back again..

JNJ Comics is probably my favorite comic book stores to go to. I have been going here since I was kid. Now Im in my mid 30s and I love bringing my child with me here.

If this place was closer to home, Id go here all the time. They really care about social distancing and the staff is super nice. I mainly collect modern so I was pretty happy with the selection, but I did find a fair bit of copper and bronze when I was looking around.

This place has been here a long time and Ive been here several times. It is one of the last comic book stores in Orange County. The owner Jeff is awesome and really takes time to talk to his customers. During this pandemic he has taken precautions to protect everyone in his store. You feel safer because of the precautions. Give him huge cudos!! If you are a comic fan or just looking for something cool comic related, definitely check out this store.

The guy wouldn’t even let me look through the comics without feeling like I was doing something wrong, I was looking through a box of comics and was asked not to it didn’t make sense to me, made me feel uncomfortable my whole time there, he was making weird remarks the whole time we were there. don’t recommend 0/10 just go to frank n sons the line isnt that bad anymore

I’m really bummed to be writing this because our first experience with this place was good. The owner was quirky and has a huge selection of books, although the trip we took today is probably going to be our last. We came in to find a copy of a predator book... when we first came in we sifted through the boxes he allows for customers to look at. He asked us if we were looking for anything particular and we told him, he groaned and reluctantly went to the back to find it. We asked if it was a first printing and he said yes. We paid for the book and drove home. We get home and open the comic to find that the book is a second printing... the dude straight up lied... super disappointed

This was one of the first comic book stores I went to when I first moved down here 7 years ago. Jeff is an awesome guy who has a ton of books available. Another store I frequent a lot when I am looking to fill out my collection with books that I might not have!

Cool place and old comic book store feel. Cool chill owner. Been going here for decades. Used to game here but the cried died down a lot. But they have your comics and have an extensive collection. I come here for card games like mtg and pokemon, but the have collectibles and action figures, etc

I love this store. I lived near it growing up in the 1990s and mostly purchased comic cards from them. Now when I make it in, I usually just hang out and look at Magic cards or comics. Its a beloved spot for me and I appreciate Jeff, his humor, and his animals. He cares about what he does and it makes JNJ Comics a special place to be.

Store has a huge selection backlog comics along with new comics every Wednesday. The owner is there everyday and cant not be more helpful or knowledgeable. Highly recommend this store.

Only thing, they do not carry ‘The Word Among Us’ - (a book I prefer to have). Extremely nice family and have many items to help to teach - or learn yourself items. Videos, Bible selections, etc.

Jeff is a cool guy. Makes you feel welcome on the first visit. Lots of KISS comics and McFarlane figures. My son got some of the KISS comics for 1/2 off. Nice!

I just got into comic books after buying some for my brother and this is the shop Ive been going to. Its a great place to shop! There are a lot of cool things to look at other than just comics. Even if you arent into Star Wars, superheroes, or geeky stuff you will find it fun browsing through the store. The owner is a cool person who is very helpful and a funny guy.

Jeff has a ton of back issues comics from different titles and publishers. Most are 50% off the comic book guide. You can negotiate a price. Jeff also buys comics at a fair price and because of this it is a must place to go at least once a month to find that missing comic.

I drove by this place every day before work for two years before ever going in, and I really regret waiting so long. Yesterday was my first time there, and I really liked it! Jeff (the owner) is a total sweetheart, and hes very friendly to everyone that comes in. When I was there, he noticed one of the customers had left her dog in the car, and he told her that she could bring her in, and gave her water and treats. It was extremely sweet. He also does this cute raffle thing.Onto merchandise:His Magic the Gathering selection is unreal. He had to have thousands of cards for great prices. I honestly dont think Ill buy my MTG cards anywhere else. He also seemed to have a really good selection of comics and some figures as well.Overall, this place is really charming, and I hope to be able to support Jeff for the rest of his years in business here. 10/10 definitely recommend.

Stopped by today and picked up some awesome (Classic) titles. The owner was knowledgeable in all areas and answered my questions perfectly. He priced comics, rare ones, fair and reasonably. It may seem cluttered in there but let me tell you, all of his comics and I mean all of them are organized. Dont be fooled by the looks. He has hidden Gems everywhere and if you ask for a specific title, he will know exactly where to find it.

The owner is very helpful and approachable. I stopped in on a whim for some holiday gifts and he was very welcoming, and everything is well organized. He lets you look around freely but is there to help if you have questions or are curious about anything.

I dont know why people even go here. Horrible service and the owner is extremely rude. First of all, I asked if I could see the boxes of Pokemon cards and if I could bring the boxes to the table so I can sit and sort out the ones I wanted. The Pokemon boxes are near the bottom of the bookshelf and the owner is all the way to the far left near the counter. The fan is on and he was mumbling. Then he shouts Thats what I just said. Do you have a hearing problem?! Second of all, when I come into someones shop, I respect the shop, the cards, books, etc. The owner had the audacity to aggressively grab and snidely say that it was my fault and my responsibility to correctly sort and turn the cards around. (Its NOT my job to do YOUR job!) Then my girl was in the middle of us and heard him say inconsiderate things under his breath. She grabbed my attention, said thanks, and left right away. I NEVER felt like I was a bothersome and the owner was disrespectful to a potential customer who traveled hundreds of miles to check out the store based on reviews.So disappointed. The shop had great stuff but the attitude of the owner is not worth a trip out here at all. I get that people have on and off days but when you own a store, you need to remain professional at all times .

First, lets talk about the store itself. JNJ Comics offers an extremely wide selection of comics, from DC to Marvel to Dark Horse to IDW. Not only does the store have whats coming out recently in comics, it has thousands of back issues ranging from the early 50s to whatever came out last year. The place isnt sparkling clean, but it is very well organized. All back issue are in alphabetical order so it isnt too hard to find whatever it is youre looking for. This place does buy comics, cards, toys you name it as long as it has some value. The good thing is that even if the things you are bringing dont have much value, the owner does offer store credit. Another thing that is great about this place is that it values returning customers. If you choose to subscribe to a certain title of comics, the store owner offers a discount applied at checkout. If you come in looking for a specific issue and he doesnt have it, he will actually leave it with the rest of your subscription once he gets it in store. A nice perk the store offers is a weekly raffle every Sunday. You get a certain amount of tickets for money spent at the store and every week the store draws the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner. These winners receive $50, $25 and $10 respectively in store credit.In regards to the store owner, I will say that it is a hit or miss with first impressions. Most of the complaints that this store receives is due to the fact that the owner seemed rude or insensitive. What I have to say to that is, just give it a second chance and you will see what a difference it makes. My first interaction with him also was somewhat negative. I gave him my card to charge and he flung it back at me after he charged it. It threw me off at first but this guy has a bit of a quirky attitude. Now I know that didnt fling it back to be rude, its just how he is, does the same thing with the stools he has at his store. Once you get past that initial interaction you realize how much he knows and cares about comic books. I have been going to this place for almost 7 years now because this is the best comic place by far. I know he has customers that come from out of state just to buy comics from him. I bring my daughter as well because she enjoys coming and even has her own subscription to comics.All in all, yes its a little worse for wear and yes the owner is a bit eccentric, but he is the most knowledgeable, has the best selection, and overall a great place to go and shop for comics, cards, toys, etc.

Jeff was really helpful and courteous to me during my visit. He has a lot of back issues. If you dont see it initially you can just ask him. He will probably have it. He has a friendly rescued cat as a store mascot.

Clean, well organized and packed with products. Associate was funny and helpful. Found almost all of the comic series I was looking for, and were in the half off bins on the lower shelves. 2 very pretty pet birds were within the premise, so if you are allergic be advised. Was not busy at all on a saturday around noon. Will definitely be going here again, highly recommend all around! They have a raffle with prizes, I believe every Saturday.

This is a very cool, old school comic book store. The owner is very friendly and has obviously been in the industry for a while. If you have a question, hell have answers. He also has a weekly lottery for returning customers.

I bought my Husband a 1st print The Killing Joke from this place because the owner said it would be at least graded a 9.2 or higher. I just got it back and its a 7.0 and we never took it out of the package!Revised: The Owner said he would have never sold it to me like that and did make it right by giving us store credit for the difference in value. I still feel like I was taken advantage of and like he was blaming me for damaging it. Im 💯% sure I never took it out of the package he sold it to me in and I work in shipping so I know how to pack it for the grading! Just be cautious if your shopping here.

Huge selection of comic books; one of the only places we can find back issues of MLP comics for my partner. However, the store is fairly unkempt, pet birds roam freely about the place, and the owners manners are less than appealing, especially if you happen to be of the female persuasion or appearance.

I used to shop here when I was 8 or ten and years old. Jeff is such a funny and friendly man has a great inventory of product from cards comics and collectables if you shopped there once had a bad experience do try again its one of those things where if you keep being a face there the more hell treat you as such at my time there was not a lot of shops out there growing up mid 90s that were close to home I used to go to Newberry and some others but since I moved to Santa Ana /Fv when I was young that close enough for me. Now I just go to get back there when I come out for a visit.

Great place if your looking for some back issues. Owner is really nice and has some really cool birds in his shop. This place also has a great selection of vintage toys and other little collectables. This is also a fun place to come to with a group of friends to play some yu gi oh or magic.

Guy was really rude. He said i was stealing some of his 5 cent cards when i just mistakenly counted 20 instead of 22. He then through the 2 cards to the ground and as i paid him the money for 20 cards he gave me a ticket and threw a pen at my chest. Then looked away with no manners. For that reason i didnt pick up the pen or did anything with the ticket. Just left it in the counter and he has a disgusting breath smell

I take my son here twice a month to pick up comics since we started getting into DC Rebirth, and have since started collecting some Pokemon and Yugioh cards as well. Jeff is great, and always friendly and engaging to him, often slipping him a pack of cards or something randomly that he feels like. He has a massive collection of comic related toys and older books, along with a wide, current selection of comics, and lots of loose collectable game cards. If you like comics, cards or even looking for an antique toy you cant find on ebay, and if youre local, maybe you can visit JNJ Comics.
