Such a great spot, and I love the name! Ive been looking for a good game store near Modesto and I found it! Staff was friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful. Felt great to chat with them, and unlike a lot of stores I have visited elsewhere, there was no immediate bias towards specific companies, manufacturers or products.. none of the if we dont have it, it isnt important that I have run into with several other smaller footprint stores. Bravo guys, its awesome. Keep it up :)

Update: finally heard back after 4 days. Its something, at least.Deserves 5 stars but unfortunately at this time I cant give that. The employees are great every time Im in here, always helpful and engaging, however with the owner on their Facebook page I have not had a good expirences. Ive messaged them multiple times asking questions that Ive been explicitly told by employees to ask directly to their Facebook page (once about Friday Night Magic rewards on MTG Arena and another time about their changes to their D&D nights) and have had them read and never responded to. If employees are unable to give information regarding events and the one person who can doesnt respond then that is a large issue. Hopefully this changes in the nearby future.

Crazy Squirrel is an awesome shop to buy cards or board games. The staff are top notch. A bug in their system allowed me to pre-order some Pokemon shinning fates even though pre-orders were long sold out. I was half expecting them to cancel my order, but they honored it! Highly recommend, they have gained a long term customer.

Went in this gaming store last weekend, initially to meet someone from online, whom is another fan of the same game, in order to make a trade safely. I walked in and there was not a soul in sight, when I found an employee.... Before I could even finish explaining that I was meeting someone to trade items the gentleman interrupted me yelling practically. NOPE, no trades are ever allowed inside this store! This was Unbelievable to me, as definitely not a place that builds onto the gaming community, fosters safety or a welcoming environment, or encourages the play/use of one of the most popular games they constantly sell! Its not cuz of COVID either, as this is their normal policy in fact I found out.Not to mention he was extremely rude about it, no Sorry, no explanation, NOTHING!! PLEASE DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND SAVE TIME/MONEY BY GOING TO A PLACE LOCALLY THAT BUILDS UP THE GAMING COMMUNITY, allows safe trading in or around their premises, and actually has far better products at a more inexpensive price! There are at least 3 other great gaming establishments in and around the Fresno area!! Cuz here, Never Again.....

Other places focus more on comics while they focus on traditonal games (books/figures for them too) and kids toys. While Im looking around the kids have plenty to look at. The owner is very nice and so helpful! The prices are just a little more than if you were to buy online but not too much and there are some really nice items you cant find anywhere else. Everyone wears a mask and they have a clear diagram on the entrance for those who may not know.Thank you so much for your help and being so kind.

OMG. They are a wonderful place for people with exact needs but truly a shopping place for small children they have toy foods like tacos or sushi for children they have amazing one of a kind gifts for all ages . if you craft they have totally cool items like metallic paints brushes for details mini drill etc... I loved the store and yes cards and D&D merchandise . l bought a dragon kite cant wait to use it .

Great shop for your gaming needs. Courteous, helpful staff and an extensive selection of tabletop games. If they dont have what youre looking for they can quickly order it. Roomy play area where groups can get together for tournaments and other events. One of the finest examples of this kind of shop that Ive ever seen.

Great store, ok variety of games. Lacking in sci-fi miniatures and niche games. Kind of hard to explain. They have mainly top sellers only. It is like walking into a liquor store and seeing only Budweiser and Coors for sale with little else in the way of craft beer. They do have game rooms you can rent to play with others.There is little else around though for such a great hobby so 4 stars.

I cannot speak highly enough of The Crazy Squirrel Game Store. Beyond being the cleanest and most welcoming game store in Fresno, their game and toy selection is astounding. We have rented a private room on more than one occasion for parties and game sessions and have always been well taken care of by the attentive staff. Most important to us, they are very accommodating to our young son, always making sure we are setup to have an enjoyable experience.

I stopped shopping at CSGS before they moved to their new location due to inflated prices when I could get the same games elsewhere for much less. As much as a 20.00 to 30.00 dollar difference! Their new location is very nice! Their prices are a bit better than before. I really want to support them because of their friendly supported staff and what they offer in terms of some space they have to where you can sit and try some of their games from their Game Library. I love that Part!We did walk out with over one hundred dollars worth of games. Some we passed on due to price. My kids and myself will be popping back in here and there. For now, we like the fact that they are becoming somewhat competitive with other places in pricing. They do have great inventory of games. Check it out board gamers.

This is the best game store in Fresno in my opinion. It has a large variety of board games, card games, tabletop books and accessories, and indie products. There is also a rather diverse kids toy section. The workers are super friendly and helpful.

I dont normally write reviews for places but this store deserves it!My family loves this store. I found them when searching for a specific game and every store I called didnt have it. When I called Crazy Squirrel they didnt have the game either, but the staff member offered to put an order in for it. The person on the phone was so nice that I went into the store the same day and walked out with purchases. At this point we go at least monthly.I have always had wonderful experiences here. Staff have always been friendly and helpful. On a recent visit a staff member spent considerable time assisting me with selecting a game after listening to what I was looking for and why. His suggestion was spot on.I havent been able to go to any of the events they hold yet, but I hope to soon. I wont look anywhere else for my gaming needs anymore.

Crazy Squirrel is an awesome game store! Especially in their new location, they have private gaming rooms, and expanded selection of products. For instance STEM and arduino items. They also have expanded their consignment and demo games selections. They also offer board game rentals. Their staff are always helpful and courteous. Best board game store Ive ever been to! And their being only 1 of 3 stores in California to be chosen as a satellite Gen con pop up is amazing! Highly recommend!

Nick and Jennifer blew our minds with Magic starter packs. Also we were initiated into the workings of Magic the gathering. The amount of care given and making sure we comprehend was a collegiate quality 1-2-3. When we come back certainly well be customers but today we were like Hogwarts freshmen and I cant wait to take my brothers manna.

Stopped in to the Crazy Squirrel on my way through Fresno. Was very pleasantly surprised and impressed. Found some games I have never seen before, including some from independent game developers. And a large section of consignment items. Jazmin was very helpful, answered all my questions and made a couple recommendations. I even walked out with one of her suggestions. Would have liked to spend more time there but had to get home. This place is now stored in my GPS and I will return.

I was a regular here when I lived in Fresno and still try to drop by even though I live in Concord now. Staff is friendly, helpful and able to handle any request no matter how little or much you know about what you are asking for. Prices are very reasonable and they support a massive number of events every week. There are a large number of tables and the open play system is pretty fair. Its the best gaming experience Ive had in Fresno, hands down.

They have great selections on dies, board games, card games, and their other room they use to host for board game is huge! Crazy Squirrel interior is clean and they host games or demo board games very often! Its a great place to go to check out the latest board games and mechanics. I highly recommend checking this place out! Great staffs are knowledgeable and I will be coming here more often to play Magic the Gathering with friends.

Awesome store to go for all your gaming needs. They carry a huge selection of pen and paper, board, and card games as well as accessories. They also host daily/weekly events for a wide variety of organized games, such as Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, Magic the Gathering, and all sorts of stuff like that. Its a nice place to hang out with friends or even meet new people. The owner is usually there and he plays this stuff as well. Definitely recommend stopping buy to check it out, especially if youre curious about playing these types of games. No experience is really needed as everyone here is always friendly and willing to teach newcomers.

If I ever want to apologize for missing a game or something else, we just buy something and play it together over the weekend. I love the owner, she is so nice and willing to help anybody out and gives good advice, not just the advice that makes her the most money. The staff is absolutely fantastic. They have some great events and patrons that really make the experience all the more enjoyable. You cant go wrong, just stop on by!

Ive been going to the Squirrel for years but just had an interaction with the staff that reminds me why its a great store aside from my own personal feelings. I called (on a Wednesday) to ask if a certain product was in stock that I wanted for the upcoming weekend... it wasnt. But Jasmine offered to talk to the owner and see if they could get it in time. The staff always goes the extra mile in my experience and Im happy to reward that with my moneys!

Im confused does this place sell video games or not

This game store wouldnt have got five stars but for this one thing they have, three long tables and two or three more rooms for groups of people to come and try a game or play a game they already own. I thought that was cool.

If you love board games, this is the best place to get them. Not only do they carry a massive selection of board games for all ages, they also have a game room where you and your family/friends can come in a test/learn a game before you buy it. It will save you some serious money (in weeding out that games you dont absolutely love) and point you in the direction of games you never wouldve thought to try. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about their inventory and different games rules, and will even teach you or play with you if you need an extra person!

I stop by on Saturday with my wife. To pick up some games. We live in Yosemite national Park and it is hard to get games when youre out in the woods. I brought some games from where I used to live and started playing with a few friends they loved them.when walking into the store I asked the man behind the desk if there was any games that he recommended. He suggested Hanabi. As we looked around he asked us if we needed anything else. My wife ( Who can be indecisive at times) wanted to buy a big board game. Even though we never bought one the gentleman behind the counter offered his complete and undivided attention. Hes patience is greatly appreciated. When we finally saved up enough money and review the games that he suggested to us we will definitely be back. I see no reason to go anywhere else the kindness that was shown towards us must be reflected upon every person that comes to that place. The crazy squirrel is a place I will visit time and again.

This is a nice game store with friendly staff that has a good amount of play space. This place has the basics you expect from the modern game store with Magic, popular boardgames, RPG books etc. Notably missing is a substantial miniatures wargaming section. Also notable is their large amount of play space, about 50% of the total floor space, which is mostly populated by plastic tables and chairs. They do have a purchase requirement for using the play area, either product or a ticket. I wish this location had a better presentation of some miniatures games but it does most things well.

One of the best game stores Ive ever been to, and I used to run one! Large playroom and a lot of helpful players to play games with. You can buy your games here or play them; the store is a great choice for both.

I really love this store. I love all of their merchandise and selection. Most of all the staff is really helpful and knowledgeable. The only complaint I would have would be a staff member named Matt.I dont know if he doesnt mean to do it or does, but he always makes me feel like I need to rush out of there. Like I cant browse. Also not very friendly to talk to like the other staff members. This obviously wont keep me from coming but maybe tell him to cheer up or be a little more friendly? As a fellow nerd, I love going here for Magic. They have your needs and a wonderful establishment along with wonderful employees. Just watch out for some customers, maybe Im prejudice about their image, but I just try be very nice and try not to mess up at any tournaments to strike a nerve in somebody.

A quality game store, offers nights for various games and does demos for many of them. They do charge 5 dollars for some nights (like D&D night), but considering the cost to stay open later (employee, electricity, AC) its not a bad deal especially if you are new to the area and looking for a group. And newbies are always welcome!

This place is one of a few game stores Im not worried to bring my kids. They have a little section for them, but still have anything a gamer would want. Tons of private rooms for DND, board games, etc. Prices like any LGS are a bit more than Amazon, but its worth it.

We where searching for the game Monopoly National Parks. With only one day left of our Road trip, this shop was our last change. Luckely for us, they had it in stock! Also got some great advise for another game and we got some dice for free.Very nice people there, cool shop!
