Im easily impressed by Asian markets with more than 3 aisles, so this place is an easy 5 stars just on the size alone. They have a good variety of brands for any given product, and mostly stick to Chinese, Korean, and Japanese food products (not much Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, etc. though). Its a great place for ingredients for an authentic recipe, but they dont have a big variety of snacks. While the produce section is a bit small, its a good selection that you wont find at a normal supermarket.

The priciest Asian mart in town and produce is often spoiled or will spoil by next day; many ingredients are about to expire or freezerburnt. Good selection of Korean products you cant find anywhere else and the staff are always really sweet and helpful.

Good selection, a little on the pricey side for usually simple things like instant noodles, or canned drinks, but still good.

Great customer service from the elderly Asian lady at the register. I was looking for a specific brand of Thai tea, and while the three other employees were sitting at the table in the break room playing cards, this lady walked me to the relevant aisle, asked questions about the product, and stood with me for several minutes browsing andcomparing similar items. She did not carry the specific brand I was looking for, but I settled on trying another brand, and also purchased some sushi-grade tuna before leaving. I am impressed with her customer service, and their selection was impressive, even though I am not a frequent consumer of Asian food.

An interesting little market. There is good ramen and Korean foods with exotic ingredients for cooking. However, their return policy seems to be an issue and I’m always keeping an extra eye out for expired food when shopping here.

Im very disappointed in this place in which I have been shopping for a while. I will be taking my business elsewhere. I brought a shrimp paste and noticed before opening it that it was rotten. The only reason why I noticed it was because I looked at the bottom of the glass jar. I went to exchange it and they told me they wouldn’t accept it and I’d have to buy a new one! That is completely unacceptable. In the past, their credit card machine messed up and for some reason didn’t take all of the money and I made sure to come back the next day to make sure I paid. They did. I have been a really good customer to them. Ultimately, if you want quality products with a grocery store that doesn’t stock bad products, don’t shop there if you don’t want to waste your money! That’s 6 dollars down the drain! There are plenty of other Asian markets in Gainesville that will honor the products they sell!

Just bought one bag of korean furikake . 5 minutes later found it says it might contains carcinogenic material so wanted to return it . Didn’t open it and it was intact . Store manager dragged long time to ask why I want to return it . They resisted to return it . Not going there again . Terrible customer service . Also encountered owner argued with other customer not to return .

This is a response to those reviews that they have bought an item that was out of date or expired. Do not eat expired food. The store should give you a refund or an exchange if you purchased the food after the expiration date. Contact the store manager and the corporate office if they refuse to reimburse you despite proof of receipt with the date of purchase. You can also contact the manufacturer. When the date is passed, it doesnt mean that the foodwill be harmful, but it might begin to lose its flavour and texture. Its completely legal for shops to sell foodpast the best before date. – Use by dates are aboutfood safety, its illegal for shops to sell any food that has passed this date. Consider filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the FDA and the state attorney general that the store sold expired food, especially if it caused you sickness.

I bought this box of eggs yesterday, there is mold growing on it. I brought it to the store. The store manager, a guy, said no money back, no store credit, but have to come back about one hour later or so to talk to the Boss, and see what he can do. But I dont want to waste my time and gas on this, so I would like to write a review here.

Had a quiet few unpleasant experience shopping at the store. Some of their stuff is expired. And some of their products have no expiration dates on the package. When I brought this issue up to the store manager he said in a very unfriendly way: its not my fault. A similar situation had happened before when I was trying to talk about a similar issue to the store manager. He seemed to have problems of dealing with his customers nicely. However luckily all the other store ashiers and the shop assistants are very nice and friendly. I dont think I will shop there anymore.!

Although this place offers food that other Asian supermarkets dont offer, their policy is bad and the person that talked to me on the phone was blatantly rude. This place offers lots of fresh vegetables and food with different cuisines. They have lots of Korean snacks and food that you cant find anywhere else. The place is large and offers a large variety of food. One large downside to this place is that they DO NOT offer refunds or exchanges. So once you buy something, you cannot return it. That is a large downside to this place because I bought something on accident and when I called them on the phone to ask if they offered returns, the person on the phone rudely replied with a no and hung up on me MID SENTENCE.The elderly man was mean and left my receipt on the counter without acknowledging us. We were about to leave and he didnt even tell us that we left it. The service was poor and the stores policy about refunds and exchanges are unacceptable.

Its an alright store. I sometimes come in and get bean sprouts, bulgolgi meat, other stuff to make dinner, and I like trying different sweets and snacks.Prices are pretty stiff though so I dont come in often. And thats really the only stuff that I can ever find to be discounted/on sale.

All my Korean friends said to not go there because its expensive anyway I purchased a choco boy for my kids but when we opened it, it had gross dots all over it and it was stuck all together, so I went back to the store to exchange it for a new one but they did not exchange it I wanted to talk to the manager or owner but they was not there so they called him and he still refused to talk to me which is very unprofessional and rude. Limited amount of options in groceries especially kimchi. For a Korean store, there should be more options in kimchi. Chung-ching has more options. Its way more expensive to get any type of Asian products here. I recommend going to either the Asian store on 13th st (eastern market). Or on main street (chung-ching) way cheaper and they have a lot of products (not just Korean but every other Asian countries)Also if youre trying to work here, dont. They do not care about their employees, the boss puts on a fake smile for the customers, but asks way too much of their cashiers without the right amount of pay. Most people that have worked their 6 mos to 1 year ago have either quit or have been fired for the most ludicrous of reasons. Just dont give them your money and support other Asian groceries who actually treat their employees with respect.

So I returned to the market to let them return the money, and they said I already eat one of them, so it is my fault, and they wouldn’t return the money.
