Be Warned! I didn’t listen to Alex.I took my AirPod Pros in for a warranty repair, which they confirmed a day later. While they offered to do the warranty replacement for free, they said the case needed to be “serviced” for $105. With the “service” of the case, I would them get three new pieces back. So, a whole new set of Airpods…Only if I agree to the $105 “service” of the case for “corrosion”. Mind you, the case has never had an issue.When I asked Pearl if this is a handcuff that Apple makes them do, (which I would understand and only be kind of annoyed with GatorTec) or is this just a bait and switch on their part.She declined to explain why in any way and was very short and didn’t want to talk about the company policy and abruptly told me to “come pick them up then”.When I contacted Apple, they sent me a FedEx prepaid box the next day and will have them replaced under the warranty $0.No questions asked, all done over text chat.Either Apple is forcing the Local Authorized dealers to do this……or GatorTec is doing the bait and switch, then wasting locals time and efforts. Not cool and be warned Gville!Silly me, I did read a 1 Star review before I started the process, that said exactly this same thing and I thought I would give GatorTec a chance and I’m sure they will let me know when I drop them off if.Nope!

They work fast!!I was given a 5-6 business day repair window. The job was done by the 3rd business day!They provide up to date comments, so I was able to follow along with the repair process.Lastly, they cleaned the outward portion lol. It was a little messy. Mac operates and feels brand new!

I never thought I would have such a weird problem with my iPhone! A window opened and would not go away, so I could bot even use my phone AT ALL!Dan, at Gator Tec fixed it in five minutes!T-Mobile could not help me, nor could the Apple Help Desk, my work schedule would not allow me to go to Best Buy, and Gator Tec was my second option… now it is my first!!!After Dan fixed my phone, I asked him how much I owed him, and he said, “Nothing at all!”Thanks Dan!

They fixed my Mac in two days! I dropped my MacBook Pro and the screen broke on a Sunday. I took it to Gatortec Monday morning. Wednesday morning I got a call that it was ready to be picked up. I have AppleCare, so the charge was $99 dollars. The people working there are very professional and nice. By the way, my Macbook screen works perfectly.

Had an audio issue with one of my AirPods. Called Apple and the rep told me the issue was likely under warranty coverage, and set me up here for a diagnostic to check. After dropping them off, GatorTec told me that since there was “evidence of corrosion,” I would have to replace the charging case too which would cost $105 since it was out of warranty. Asked to replace just the AirPod with the issue as I had no issues with the charging case. They told me it was “Apple policy” that they couldn’t replace it without replacing the perfectly functioning charging case and there was nothing they could do. Didn’t sound right so I called Apple to check. Apple service rep got supervisor on the line who told me “that’s not our policy. I’m not sure what the store’s policy is and it could be different than ours but it’s not ours.” Apple agent suggested sending the AirPods directly to Apple, and even sent me a box with a shipping label to do so. Went into GatorTec to pick my AirPods up to send to Apple and told them what Apple said. The employees at the store doubled down and insisted that they were just following Apple’s repair policy. Sent the AirPods off to Apple and they replaced the malfunctioning AirPod which was in warranty and didn’t charge me a penny. Either Apple or the repair shop that wanted to charge me $105 to repair AirPods under warranty was being dishonest about Apple’s policy.

Be advised, they are looking for any reason to not work on your computer and pocket the assessment fee. I took in a MacBook with software issues and was told they wouldnt even try to fix it because I had to replace a defective battery under AppleCare years earlier. Everything Mac downtown is way better.

Ive been a GatorTec customer for 7+ years, and I dont go anywhere else for my Apple devices. On a recent service, they saved me a huge sum in repairs by letting me know that my out-of-warranty laptops keyboard issue was actually covered by Apple. Even with ordering new parts, the repair took less than a week---far less than the time they estimated upon making my repair appointment---and I credit their efficiency for that. The technicians also communicated with me multiple times throughout the repair period to update me on the status of my repair. I also appreciate that they are always extremely clear about any costs and obtaining my consent ahead of any repairs. I trust them to give me a fair price. The technicians at GatorTec are always professional, knowledgeable and attentive to my concerns and issues.

**Update** They made it right. I appreciated the follow up.Had I been able to sort out my issue upon arrival, this would have been a five star review. The gentleman in the store that helped me was absolutely fantastic. He went above and beyond. However, I paid $20 for shipping and was told my phone would arrive to me by Saturday at the latest. When I called, I was informed that it was still sitting on their counter. I did not receive it until the following Tuesday. The manager was supposed to call me back and never bothered to do so. Their in-store service is wonderful, but their follow-through is terrible.

After dropping my iphone (which hadnt been backed up in over 2 years) on the hard tile in my home, my OLED screen broke. The screen was black, and flashed white and green every time I tried using it. At this point I assumed all the important photos/notes/etc I hadnt backed up was lost, which caused me to panic. When I came across GatorTec and their data retrieval services, I became hopeful. I went in soon after they opened in the morning and explained my issue to one of the friendly staff members, who was confident in their ability to help me in my situation. After only a few hours (I was originally told it might take days since there were many people with appointments, which is understandable), I got an email telling me that the data retrieval was a success and that my data was ready to be transferred to a new phone. I am EXTREMELY pleased with the services provided by Gatortec and with the prices which they charge. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who needs their iphone serviced. Thank you Gatortec!

GatorTec is awesome! I first became a customer when I brought in my old MacBook Air for liquid damage- they made the process extremely easy and were very communicative about what was going on. This past week I had to buy a new MacBook Air (due to unfixable liquid damage) and I was worried about having to spend a lot of time without a computer in the interim. Thankfully, Chandler, Dan, and Keyon at GatorTec helped me get a new computer, data transfer, and insurance options within a few days. No waiting in lines or on the phone, great face to face service, and I appreciated having the option to place the order over the phone and pay online. Im really grateful to everyone there for making the experience so easy!!!

My experience with GatorTec was very positive. The people working there took time to discuss my problem(s) and possible approaches to address them, were patient when I didnt understand something, and in spite of the expected long wait for service (because of backed up with so many repairs), the actually took care of my computer in about half the expected time. Most important for me was the attitude and the kindness of the staff. I appreciate also that appointments are needed to go in, because I am concerned about COVID-19 and try to keep social distancing inside, and this policy allows them to control for number of clients. I think it is lunacy of Apple not to have an Apple store in a town with a major university, a college, a medical school and two large hospitals. But since they dont, GatorTec is picking up the slack. Finally, in the new location there is better access, e.g., parking, for disabled. Much appreciated, thank you.

Stay away from this place. There are excellent repair phone places like cell Xchange who charge way cheaper than this place. A million thanks to Best buy Geek squad for processing my so called disassembled phone claimed by GatorTec jack a**. No questions, fast repair from Apple support of course. Last week, my 2 year old Macbooks display randomly went pink and was completely unusable. I was extremely disappointed, but brought it in for service. People with the same problem as me online said it cost them ~$600 to fix by sending into Apple, so I was nervous bringing it in. GatorTec told me it would take 9 business days. They got back to me in 4 business days and told me they were able to replace the display for free under a quality assurance program. I have never been more satisfied with the service I recieved. Everyone here is extremely kind and professional as well. I brought an old Macbook in for a recall many years ago and they were also quick and helpful then. Could not recommend them more.

Leo from GatorTec drove down from Gainesville, FL to my studio located in Clearwater, FL to fix a downed iMac Pro.Despite the horrendous traffic, Leo kept me informed of his ETA and arrived as agreed. After initial diagnosis, Leo grabbed his tools and started working.As can be seen in the pictures, Leo made sure he worked on an antistatic mat along with grounding himself- being a former Helpdesk technician I appreciated this a great deal.What cant be seen in the pictures are Leos professionalism, positive attitude, commitment to service, and breadth of his skill / knowledge. Despite the nature of the problem and the hardware being worked on, Leo was thorough even as the hours we going late in the night.Knowing he still had a 2.5 hour drive ahead of him, Leo stayed until the job was completed, giving his best effort, leaving our house around 9:15pm.I cant say enough great things about the service or experience. Not sure what happened but my external hard drive that I previously used on Windows and Mac was irretrievable. As a member of Best Buy Geek Squad I took it there. They could not help. I brought it to GatorTec and they were confident the data could be recovered and they sent it out to a 3rd party.30 years of pictures, video, music.... was recovered!!! It was a little pricey but the bottom line is they did what Best Buy couldnt.

I original went to Re-Tech and not only was one the employee cursing at another employee when I walked in, but he basically told me he did not know what was wrong with my phone and had no interest in trying to fix it.My experience with GatorTec was extremely different!As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted by Chandler. He was extremely helpful and very kind. My phone was fixed in under 30 minuets with no out of pocket charge for this repair. I have already recommended some of my coworkers to this location.This was overall a wonderful experience!

I wouldn’t trust this store to repair a thing. If you call the store, it’s as if you’re talking to a brainless chimpanzee. It doesn’t get any better when you get to the store. The techs inside are as savvy as a box of sand, and their solutions to everything is to replace the device with Apple Care. Save your time and money, and hit up a cheap kiosk inside the mall. At least they are competent. These fools just want a quick cash grab.

Trustworthy! I admit I was skeptical about having to visit an Apple Partner store, but the staff was honest with me from start to finish. I braced for some sort of con job, but my phone was replaced fully covered under warranty. While I was waiting, I overheard a worker interacting with an elderly customer whom the worker advised honestly when he could have exploited the elderly woman. Dont listen to negative reviews. Everything they do here is overseen by Apple. 100% recommended!

10/27/20 - EDITED/UPDATEDThe owner of GatorTec responded quickly to my review. He apologized, letting me know that indeed they did have the iPad I was looking for in stock, it had not yet been put in the ‘bin’ and was still in the shipping box. The iPad had been ‘checked in’ and that is why it was showing up in the computer system as available/in stock. He offered to deliver the iPad to either my house or business. I went back to GatorTec today and purchased the iPad and they gave me a discount on the Apple Care for the inconvenience. The customer service representative apologized for the confusion and was extremely helpful! I was happy to shop a local small business AND most of all that the owner and staff were willing to make this right! I will definitely continue doing business with them in them in the future!10/26/20 - My husband is in need of a new iPad. Unfortunately, most places do not have any in stock for instant purchase. I called GtorTec this morning and was told they had many available in the store for purchase. We went over the specs of the one I was looking for and was assured that it was in stock for purchase. When I got there this afternoon that was NOT the case. After expressing my frustration to the sales associate, he proceeds to tell me that I am not the first customer to have this happen. He also proceeded to tell me what iPads they did have in stock, that were significantly more expensive. NO THANK YOU! Wasted trip across town and horrible customer service!!

Ive been to GatorTec numerous times over the years and Ive always had a pleasant experience. Today, I brought in my MacBook Pro for a battery recall. Chandler was great and let me know the turn around time was about a week. Surprisingly, I got a call about five hours later letting me know the battery had been successfully replaced and my computer was ready for pickup.

If I lived near an Apple Store, I would still make the drive to come here instead.Why wait weeks for a genius bar appointment when you can come to GatorTec and see someone right away and receive certified service in at least half the time of an Apple Store? Even better, have a conversation with the person doing the work. Leo, Christian and the rest of the repair staff are highly trained, qualified, passionate and excited about Apple products. They are more than willing to come out and talk about your hardware or software issue, discuss options, and recommend a worthwhile replacement if necessary. These aren’t a bunch of robots wearing the same shirt. These are real people speaking real languages that I can understand. This is the only place I will take my mac and iPhone for in-warranty and out-of-warranty service.Besides GatorTec carrying all Macs in store, they were also able to get me a custom Mac (upgraded hard drive) faster than Apple could. From ordering it until I had it was only three days!If you need Apple service or want to get your hands on the latest gear, don’t drive to Jacksonville or Orlando. GatorTec has it.

Take your business elsewhere. Last week, I went to take in my Beats since they stopped working. Last time I had to do this (this past February), they were out of warranty so I had to pay for them. When I went in last week, I asked the person helping me how much I would have to pay, and he responded he didnt know. I was able to access my transaction history on my banking app and was able to find out that it was $86 dollars when I took them in before in February. I asked him if thats how much they would be this time around and he told me yes. When I went to pick them up today, I was informed that it was actually going to be $106 dollars. There was a reason for the price increase, but they neglected to tell me that when I first took them in and signed the paperwork to have them fixed. Not only was I given faulty information, but I still had to pay the full amount and they were impolite when I pointed out I was told by them it was supposed to be $20 cheaper. Will never come back again, and I recommend the same to any future customer.

Absolutely unprofessional. Rude. Run by a bunch of teenagers that do not know how to act!The “supervisor” constantly hits on female employees and customers, causing uncomfortable tension. I have seen it personally. The only employee that was actually worth talking to or getting a problem fixed with, was “let go” because of personal vendettas against her. This is not a professional environment. The owner does not care what his employees do, as he isn’t even there half the time. It seems this business is run by a greed stricken conglomerate. Expensive repairs that can sometimes cause you to lose all your personal data on your phone because the techs do not pay attention and decide to wipe it clean! I will never recommend this business and I will make sure my friends go to other businesses especially since other phone retailers can now be apple certified.

My iPhone X was turning off and acting up! I was desperate for help. I went and talked to Pearl who was an absolute ANGEL. She was very empathetic of my situation and truly seemed to care. She discussed all my options with me and was very knowledgeable. We tried multiple things to see if it could be a quick fix, but ultimately I ended up going to the Apple store to get a phone replacement. Despite the bad reviews, I chose to go to Gatortec and I’m really happy that I did. Sometimes people just write bad reviews because they were unhappy with their options or upset about their situation for personal reasons. That’s the service industry for you. But these technicians aren’t magicians or miracle workers. Even though they couldn’t fix my phone they helped me figure out what I needed to do to get it done and discussed all my options with me. Definitely give them a chance. I will be taking my business and telling all my friends to go see Pearl!

When there the white guy in the front was pushy to get me to buy a $320 Apple iPhone 6 replacement. When I insisted that I speak with a technician, he annoyingly went and got one. He was nice and fixed my problem for free. No need to replace anything. While Im giving 3 stars as they fixed my problem I would be wary as the white guy seemed completely untrustworthy to me. If you happen to be in Jax/Orlando/Tampa I would stop by an actual Apple store instead of these people.

This has been a rewarding experience. Pearl actually took the time to assist me with my i pad. She was also encouraging because I kept downing myself because I could not give her the information because I lost most of it. Thanks to her she really made my day!!!!!! Hats off to her. PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANYTHING HERE FOR REPAIR, unless you want an unhelpful overpriced experience. Apple told me to bring my broken computer to one of two certified Apple repair stores in Gainesville to fix my computer, and Apple would cover the cost (under a program my computer qualified for). Gator Tech evaluated my computer, quoted me $649 out of my pocket and said Apple wouldn’t cover the cost. They gave me a turnaround time of 5-6 days. The men at the front desk couldn’t tell me what was wrong stating they’re “just the front desk workers”. I picked up my computer and took it to the other certified Apple Repair store, they worked with Apple to make sure my repair was covered with no cost to me and my turnaround time was fast (1-2 days). Bottom line, this store just wants your money and has no interest in making sure the customer has a good experience.

Gatortec restored hundreds of dollars worth of music and books to me today! I hadn’t backed up my iPhone in over a year (yes, I now KNOW how stupid that was!!). When my phone died, it took all of my downloads with it! Daniel and Byron were amazing! They were able to resuscitate my dead phone long enough to download all of the things that I thought I had lost forever!! I am so thankful!! They were SO patient and helpful!!!

She made sure to give you the information you needed and when rude customer tried to cut in (they had a lot) she didn’t even bat an eye and continued to give you outstanding customer service! I really love using hometown vendors as my husband is one. I have gone to GatorTec on 3 different occasions and the customer service is terrible. Not a good representation of the Apple brand at all. They are happy to sell you something but aren’t nearly as friendly when it needs repair. I’ll just do my business directly with Apple from this point forward.

They tried to up sell me on service that I didnt need and shouldnt have needed as I was covered under apple warranty. Got it repaired and works perfectly, but a less assertive customer may have paid them hundreds for unnecessary work.

“Premier” is a stretch for this place, and it’s surprising that Apple wants to be affiliated with this place. Your AppleCare is no good here if you are trying to get the free battery replacement that AppleCare normally gets you. They will, however, start messing with your phone’s settings even before telling you the price or time expected for the service to take. There is a basic lack of professionalism. You are better off taking your phone to Best Buy or driving to an actual Apple location.Edited to respond to the reply by owner: I am not sure that we are talking about the same case. I certainly understand that you might have different pricing options from Apple, although it seems odd that the price difference would be so vast ($49 vs $0). What was more problematic was that the team member took my phone and started changing settings (taking off the password, turning off Find My Phone) before communicating anything about pricing or timing. In fact, she told me nothing about the turnaround time, only the pricing, and only after I asked. It seems that team members should explain price/timing should before they start touching devices and changing settings.

Went to have my tablet worked on a few weeks ago, had to call multiple times just to find out when it would be ready. When I finally got it back EVERYTHING was lost!!!! I was rudely told there was “nothing that could be done”.... I didn’t want everything wiped off my tablet, I just wanted to know why it wouldn’t hold a charge.

Tl;dr : Supreme service. Kind, professional, polite front desk personnel. Super clean & tidy little store. Very reasonable pricing on services (mine was under warranty, thus free ^u^). Guy at front desk went above & beyond the call of duty by putting my new screen protector on for me (perfectly). Definitely will come back in the future.My iPhone 7+ screen randomly stopped responding to my tippy-tappies so I brought it in to see what could be done, as I only had it for less than 3 months. I offered to give the guy at the front desk the box that it came in, as it had the serial ID on the back of it. He said “no need, I can get it off the phone” & proceeded to pop open the SIM slot to retrieve the ID that way. They check her out, tell me it’ll be covered under the warranty from what they can tell & to come back in 1.5 hours & she’d be good as new.I came back, they told me I was all set. I’m none too good at putting the glass screen protector on so I ask the desk guy if he’d mind doing it for me. He says yes but it might not be great as he’s not super good at it. Well, he did it for me anyway & honestly, no bubbles, it’s perfectly lined up and no smudges or anything on it so I’m super happy about that. I say thanks & leave, get in my car, try to make a call & I see that in the corner where the service bars are says “no sim”. So of course I go back in & tell them what’s going on. They ask if I took out the SIM card. “Nope, I had no reason to do so. But you did pop it open to get the serial number, could it have dropped?” Guy goes into the back room, comes out five minutes later, says the techs had no reason to remove it so am I sure I didn’t take it out. Definitely not. So he checks under the printer & then looks around the counter, for literally less than a minute. Tells me to go to Verizon & they will give me a new one for free. So I ended up late to work Bc I had to go to Verizon afterward, kinda upsetting.I feel pretty certain — 99% — that it got dropped when he opened the slot but it was mostly a minor inconvenience to have to go replace it. Just wish he would have looked a bit more thoroughly.Overall though? Good experience. Very polite, kind front desk personnel. They fixed the problem and had my phone back to me in less than 2 hours. I plan to buy an apple laptop of some sort soon, so if I have any problems in the future I will definitely be coming back here.

Definitely the worst customer service I have ever experienced! Not only did they accuse me of taking the Sim card out of my phone that I left for repairs but manager was extremely rude and condescending when I explained my phone was returned without it. Once he reviewed security footage he realized that I was never given the Sim card even though “it’s policy” to remove it when doing repairs. I’m currently sitting in ATT waiting for service to replace the card.Due to a manufactures defect on my iPhone I received a new replacement. They refused to give me the box “policy” again he said along with along with the charger and paperwork.I will drive to Jacksonville or just send off my iPhone if ever in need of repairs agin instead of stepping foot in that place.I would give them negative stars if possible.

I came in to fix my cracked Iphone 8 plus and I believe her name was Christina who helped me intially, she was great. It seemed she might have been one of the newer employees there and told me a certain price to fix my phone that I didnt like so I was getting ready to leave, but luckily it was a mistake and she quickly called me back and said she was sorry and told me the real price which was way way better. I am glad Pearl was there to help her out sometimes to get the best customer service you need the best employees to be able to help each other out and Im glad Gator Tech has the employees who can work together to make sure customers are satisfied. And thank you Pearl for helping me out when I needed to get my 2 step authorization code after I left for another Apple device I was using temporarily. Youre the best and deserve a raise!

Had a great experience with GatorTec today. Had a problem with search engine malware. The tech that helped me, Daniel, was awesome. He didnt make me feel stupid, he checked everything possible,he had me download free software to protect my computer, her recheck everything after running the software and fixing a problem, He spent a good half hour or more with me. NO CHARGE. He didt try to sell me anything. He could have since I was clueless. Please give them a try, you will be very pleased.
