Very pleased with South West Self Storage. Ive had units there for several years (yes, I have too much stuff--long story) and recently needed to add a small unit because of an upcoming move. The office staff is always very helpful and professional and I have never had a problem. I recommend this facility highly.

Super clean and well lit. Security features are good. Joel was great with his customer service, both for U-Haul rentals and getting the lease agreement signed.

The place is great with the manager being really helpful, friendly, and straightforward. They are really good about communicating and getting back to you if you need anything. The units are clean, easy for customer access, and very secure. The only thing I would say to future outdoor unit customers is to buy more Damprid than they suggest (at least during summer) if you’re storing stuff that you’re worried about mold growth. We put around 6 cups in of it for a monthlong stay and when we got back they were all almost or completely full, but all of our stuff was mold free! Even our mattresses ! Great experience

I needed somewhere last minute when school shut down to put my stuff since I live out of state. I had used South West before at one of their other locations so I knew they had great service. The one on 42nd had an opening and it was super easy to set up. I could do it over the phone and they were so nice! I wasnt able to go back down to pick up my stuff so my mom had to make the trip. She needed help moving something and they helped her and she said the guy was very nice about it. Would recommend to a friend!!!

I needed a storage for 2 weeks so I decided to store my items here since I did get a great deal. I reserved the unit online but when I went in person to sign my lease, I was told that my unit was given to someone else because they paid their reservation fee first - that was not an option for me. Soon enough however I was able to get my unit. I decided to move in my items a week later and when I came back, my gate code wasn’t working. I went into the office, and got immediate help however I was told that they “moved me out” since there was no lock on my gate even though I told them that I was going to bring my own lock when I moved my items in the following week when I signed my lease. Someone couldn’t tell me that that wasn’t allowed, so I wouldn’t have to go through that hassle?Anyways, it was now time for me to take my items out of the unit, and I open up the storage after not visiting for 2 weeks. I came to find bugs including spiders, lizards, insects and frogs everywhere in the unit, covering all of my belonging. The unit was filled with dirt and my items seemed to be wet and covered in dirt. While moving out of the unit, I seemed to have got bitten by something. It’s been a week and the bumps/reaction hasn’t gone away.Though the pricing was great, I do think that the service and customer service could’ve been more efficient. Jay and Joel were very kind after all and willing to help. The unit definitely needs to be worked on to prevent any other unhappy customers.

The staff are very friendly. They have lots of storage lockers and we got the first month for free. We picked a locker that was too small at first and they let us move over to a larger one with no problem or extra fee.

Jay at southwest storage saved the day today! We lost our key and he helped us when he didn’t have to! Was awesome!

My husband Steve and I commend SW Storage for their friendly, helpful service! Recently, Joel assisted us with moving stuff from one unit to another. He set us up with a U-Haul at a very reasonable price to enable a smooth transfer. In the past we also used SW Storage for our campus band equipment. This is a convenient and secure location!

South West Self Storage was exactly what we needed for storing the overabundance of items that were collecting in our garage. The location is good, although the traffics getting worse over there. The rental process was smooth and seamless, and the price was very reasonable.One thing I would have liked to have seen is an on-site dumpster for use by customers. I know that increases costs, but the small increase to keep and empty a dumpster could be incorporated into rental unit pricing. It wouldnt cost customers that much more money, and it would be well worth it.

The service is superb! Tiffany P. was very friendly and competent, explained the contract, rules in detail. The renting process went smooth and was a lot of fun chatting with Tiffany.The storage itself is clean and everything (access to the property, gate opening, unit opening, etc) works fine as it should.My unit is clean, dry and easy accessible by my vehicle.I highly recommend this place!

The gentlemen in the front office of this branch on SW 42nd next to Wal*Mart are great! Very professional, intelligent, and entertaining -- always enjoy chatting with them whenever I come in. They have helped me out whenever I had a question or concern, and I am proud to continuing giving them my patronage.

The manager is very helpful and understanding person. He is also a fun person to talk to. The service rate are fair and actually cheaper than many other places in the vicinity.

I’ve had my stuff in storage for 8 years here. I like the ground level. My stuff stayed nice and dry in outside storage. As the price continued to increase over each year, I had to move to a smaller unit to afford storage. Joel and the staff were always very nice to me. If I ever need storage again, I will return.

This was the best storage place I ever went to. I got a free month and did not have to pay for a month in advance. The prices were excellent for the space and my things stayed in great shape. I love the email notices and the convenient ways to pay the bill. Customer service was excellent. I will always use that place for my needs and recommend it to anyone looking for storage or a U-Haul truck. I had no waiting time to get my truck and it was very comfortable and easy to drive. Very good rates. That is a great location to get it from.

Great storage facility. I am currently using it to store my four wheeler till I go back to Tallahassee. I feel really secure about leaving it here. The counter guy was really nice, courteous, and professional. The size of the unit fit the four wheeler perfectly.

The units are very well organized, and the security is top notch. Each person gets their own individual code to gain access to the grounds. The manager will make sure the unit you want is clean, and the entire staff is very punctual in all aspects. Everything, including moving in and moving out was simple and hassle free, the staff is very friendly.

The staff are, nice, helpful and take time to insure you are comfortable and understand how to use gate entrance codes,hours of service, and contract. They are always there to help. I would highly recommend this company. Im glad I found them. JD.

I was born and raised in this city and havent ever needed a storage unit until this year. I knew I only needed the unit for less than a month and thought I would regret getting one, but South West Self Storage proved me wrong!I rented a 10x10 at an incredible rate and stored my belongings for a little over 2 weeks. When it was time to move into my new home, I rented a Uhaul through them (which was painless, cheap and efficient) and moved everything that evening.After getting settled into my new home I received an email that my storage unit rent was past due. I had completely forgot to close the unit since Im an extremely busy single dad who works 40+ a week while raising a 3yr old.The following weekend I went up to the office to pay my rent and late fee as well as close the unit and I was more than prepared to pay the fees since I was the one who forgot. Instead, the manager told me he wouldnt take my money since I had nothing in the unit. So, we walked over to the unit so I could remove my lock and check that it was empty and he closed my account and gave me a move-out receipt!Fantastic customer service! I will recommend this storage facility to anyone and everyone as long as Im in Gainesville! The staff are extremely helpful, friendly and informative.If youre unsure if this facility is a good choice, look no further! Called a month and a half ago to rent a unit for July and was told I had to wait 7 days before my “move-in” date to reserve a unit. So I wait 7 days before I need a unit, only for them to tell me their sold out? How on earth are we supposed to reserve a unit only ONE WEEK before we need it? Makes no sense. Additionally they jack up the prices every week you wait to rent. Unbelievable.

Place is good but they were not clear with the charges and fees like the insurance fee and the lock fee. Once you are there with all your stuff you just have to accept whatever they say. I really dont know what to think :(

Great place for easy in & out self storage. The place was really nice and well up-kept; along with being gated. The prices are fairly reasonable. The best part about this storage location was that it was located right off the I-95 exit, perfect location.

South West is the best! I had a last minute move. I searched high and low for a 10 ft U Haul truck and was relocated to Main Street. Id already reserved my storage unit at South West because it was closer to my old apartment. I dreaded having to travel back and forth across town in not so ideal afternoon traffic....I made my way to South West first and low and behold they had a truck available. The managers are the best and made the process painless both mentally and financially! They even put a smile on my face after a long days work!! Id recommend them 1,000 times and I look forward to doing business with them again when I move in the fall.

I tried to give 0 star but did not work. After 1.5 h I could not call them to get truck; they rented it to someone else. It is fine, but they needed to listen me what I am saying on the phone. I was okey to get track and return early and it would work for both. Anyway it is not a good one, pick other location...

She wasnt going to do an inspection until I insisted. Thank goodness because the lock on the back of the truck was busted. Had to go to another place.

Never had any problems and they let me cancel my unit a couple days after my bill was due and there was no fee and I didn’t have to pay for that month so overall pretty good place

It was a great experience. I was able to use the Uhaul available there and the unit are huge and was able to store all my furniture and stuff. Definitely will recommend it to others and way affordable compare to others. 2 thumbs up.

We rented a unit for 6 months during a renovation of our condo. Very pleased with location, facility and management team!

The staff was so helpful. Had never been there, they offered to help me with the gate. Felt very safe once inside the gates.

I used this place for 5 1/2 months. Within those months, I have experienced hardship was struggling to pay my storage rent. The staff is really kind and really work with you. I just moved out..3/26/2018 and my things were secured and safe. Never had an issue with security there. Just minor things like normal outside bugs, but I had an outside unit, so there you have it. LOL. I would definitely recommend this place and I would use them again. Thanks for everything.

Just be careful of the insurance charge. Your apartment/house rental insurance covers the storage and you can opt out of it.

Terrible Costumer Service. Absolutely terrible. When I showed up to get a storage facility no one was present in the office DURING THEIR OPEN HOURS. Do not put your business here. Not reputable at all. When the workers are gone, the gate doesnt open. Even if you already have a storage unit, you couldnt access it, because no one is present in the office.
