I love just stopping in here for a look around every few weeks, because theyve always got something new to add to our massive collection of vintage games! Their prices are fair, but dont be surprised to see $199 or more on a single rare cartridge (spoiler, worth it!) The staff is always friendly and helpful, and their membership program will save you a ton if you shop like we do.

I have been a customer at this store for the past decade and have always had consistently wonderful experiences here. The staff always delivers awesome customer service and are very knowledgeable about what they do. They have very honest and fair policies and are always willing to help with any repairs or issues I might have with games or consoles. If youre in the area looking for a good game store to go to, definitely make this your go to!

Love the place!!! Ive been going here for years and Ive never once had an issue that couldnt be resolved whether that be a scratched game that didnt work or a console that didnt work, it was nothing they couldnt handle! Employees are awesome! They make sure Im taken care of and always have a good energy! Probably my favorite thing is how theres always some sort of deal going on! Truly a great store!

Do NOT get your consoles repaired here until they get a new repair tech.This store is a great place to buy vintage/nostalgic games and that is the only reason I am not rating lower, but it doesn’t seem like the repair service actually does any repairs.I dropped off a GameBoy Color to be repaired here. When I was called to come pick it up, not only was it not repaired, but it was in worse condition than when I dropped it off. The graphics were completely shot when I went to pick up my console after “a simple repair” that was not complete and had nothing to do with the graphics.I am aware they have been using the same repair tech for years, but I am not the only one that has had a poor experience getting a console repaired, so it might be time to try and find a new repair tech instead of standing by his work (or lack thereof). I was told in-store that it is impossible to reach the repair tech before 2pm, and that was proven each time I visited the store, further complicating the situation and worsening my experience as a customer.

I was in town visiting some family when they told me that this store is just the best. I had to check it out myself and I have to say it’s absolutely wonderful. The selection of games they have for a variety of different consoles is amazing. Not to mention the wonderful costumer service! Gabe and Chris sure know how to help their costumers. Gabe helped me find a big selection of games that he thought I would enjoy. It’s the hands down best gaming store I’ve been to! I’m going to recommend this store to all of my friends!

I came into this store with my broken PS4 and a bunch of old games. I was very impressed with the store manager Joe. He helped me with my trade. I got a fair price on the items I traded in and I bought a few new games that I couldnt find anywhere else. My broken ps4 was repaired by their tech in about 2 weeks and now works perfect! I am so glad I found this place and will be coming back more!

So yesterday, my mom needed some cash and unfortunately made the horrible mistake of trying to get rid of a few things here. After selling one or two controllers and around 4 games, she only came back with 21 dollars (they’re reselling just ONE of the xbox 360 controllers for $25-30, so that alone more than payed for the entire trade for them, several of the games if not all are being sold as “back wall” games for at least $20-30, when she was given less than $3 for most of them)… these are tough times where people are in need of help more than ever, are forced into one-sided “trades” (aka extortion considering they know there is nowhere else we can sell this stuff, many of us have LOST their jobs instead of profiting/benefiting from this pandemic… yet instead of sympathizing with people, they use this desperation and dire need for income, as a weapon to offer less than ever before (since there is no competition, with gamestop only buying new stuff and basically going out of business). we had to accept the bare minimum in order to pay rent, buy groceries, get gas etc. (with gas prices rising, $21 doesn’t even get us a quarter of a tank), on a trade they are easily selling for over $100. this business has said numerous times it “has flourished because of the pandemic”, and was actually suffering BEFORE people were stuck at home, with demand for indoor activities (video games) rising fast. they’re taking advantage of needy people without a shred of remorse or compassion, and i completely agree with what the guy said about them focusing on getting the most profit they possibly can. oh and i have the receipt if the owner tries LYING and saying “this is untrue, we can see what you paid and what you’re selling it all for. They had the nerve to offer us $20 cash for an xbox 360 s with a 250gb hard drive… the hard drive sells for MORE than that alone, don’t let these guys rip you off!

A locally-owned store such as this is hard to find. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. You can find some really good values here even if youre not looking for anything in particular. Selection is a bit limited at times for newer consoles but thats to be expected. Id encourage occasionally stopping in just to see what they have.

Last time I went here, Joe the owner, was was giving a SMALL amount of cash for some valuable games. During the trade, another customer asked how much they were. He told them $50 for one, and $45 for another, after paying me around $5 for one, and $7 for the other. Games he was about to instantly resell for close to $100. I didnt feel like getting ripped off, so I said I was going to hold off on selling those couple ones, and he responded by shoving everything I was trading back to me, saying he wasnt going to take any of it now (like a child, mad that he was missing out on that HUGE amount of profit for 2 minutes of easy work). The way they pay is, they offer 1/3 of the resale value.... and then divide THAT number by 1/2 if you want cash. So a game that theyre going to sell for $50, is going to net you a whopping $8 or so if youre lucky! If you sell them a PS2, you will get around $20-30, which theyll resell for $120 (when the website they use for pricing, say its only worth $50-$80, and really is all theyre worth). They also use a variety of shady business practices, like taking games that customers have returned (because they didnt work), and putting them back out for sale, sometimes with visible cracks or warps in the disc, hoping the customer wont notice until its too late, that the disc looks like Freddy Krueger just got finished with it. Even if the same game has been returned MULTIPLE times, and is clearly broken, they will keep putting it out, hoping someone might end up stuck with it/not bother returning it. This is because there are no cash refunds, so even if you buy a broken game, you only get store credit/swap it out for a different game or have them resurface your broken one if you return it fast enough, but either way the store already made its money when it sold for cash ( most of the games are VERY cheap for them, and cost store credit usually, so they dont spend any real cash on the products to start usually. They also simply buy products off sites like AliExpress, and mark it up by about 4-600% (Theyll buy a DBZ shirt for less than $5 after shipping, then sell it for over $20!). The same happens with with 12 packs of soda, buying whatever is on sale, and reselling them for $1 each(which is illegal)! Everything in this store is about making the absolute maximum potential profit, all at the expense of the customers (and some employees). I understand making a profit, what would be the point in having a business otherwise? But there is a HUGE difference between setting a price where both parties come out satisfied based on fair prices, as opposed to beating someone in the head, and squeezing them for every penny possible until theyre bone dry, or youve managed to make 10x what you originally purchased the product for that youre selling, literally saying that ONLY 2-300% profit isnt enough, or isnt worth it. Some of the people who work here make this place the epitome of greed and avarice (not everyone, pretty much just the owner, and upper management who put making an extra dollar, in front of the customer, even if it means they lost a customer for life, they made an extra dollar or two instantly. its sad too, they have some loyal customers who deserve better (if they didnt only focus on profit, theyd have a lot more, wanting to come back while the store still has plenty of room to make their profit, based on what they originally obtained the item for (which is sometimes literally free, or a few dollars store credit, but being sold for $20 or more, and is something they could definitely do, but unfortunately most definitely wont do for the aforementioned reasons. Employees are also divided into classes, despite their actual sales or customer interactions, some receiving far less than others. Ironically... the ones who end up being promoted constantly belittle Joe behind his back, occasionally take multiple breaks to go meet people or to the abc store, and even drink alcohol and/or smoke weed INSIDE while still on the clock, being paid more than everyone else and given more respect!

Wow! AJ is a master at customer service and inspired me to share the store with my son. He had amazing support from Anthony and Gabe, we bought a Christmas present for my youngest son. We also had are Xbox repaired there. It had an outstanding environment and nice employees, it makes everyone feel welcome .It’s the place to go!

Its a great place to pick up some collectible gaming titles or even just experience some childhood nostalgia. The inventory is constantly changing so you never know what kind of rare title theyll have in stock! Theyll even let you call in and ask about their inventory, and if anything strikes your fancy, they can put a 24 hour hold on it for you. The staff are always helpful and open to answer any questions you may have about a particular game, console, or product sold on their shelves.

Love going here for retro games/consoles. They have a wide verity and their staff is always friendly and helpful. I Definitely recommend stopping by and seeing what they have in stock every now and then :)

This store is good for the nostalgia feeling buts thats all. It took them almost two months to fix my PS2 (which they didnt). They claimed it was the CD but the CD worked for other PS2 which means there is still something wrong with the system. I wouldnt recommend coming here to get anything fixed because they will claim to fix it and charge you for it but the game system in actuality doesnt work. Also, they spelled my name and got my number wrong which is another reason it took so long for them to tell me my PS2 was ready (not fixed). From all of the retro stores Ive been to, this place is probably the worst. The employees are good people if you know them but they lack customer service skills.

I went to Play and Trade for the first time the other day, and I definitely hope to go there again. The staff was very friendly and had games a CD systems that I havent seen in years. Everything I bought was totally worth the money. 10/10 experience, would recommend.

My son wanted to pop in here because he was beyond frustrated by GS and was looking for other gaming places. The guys working here are very kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely seem to like talking to everyone coming through. The prices here are much, MUCH better than the other stores. Another customer was asking about a repair on a system and I was blown away that they even offered the service at a very fair price. If you, or anyone you know, are into gaming then it would be worth a trip!

My son loves this store. They take your old games on trade, and you can buy used games for cheap. Its a nice surprise each time were there as you never know what theyll have. The staff is very cool. Great place to shop!

Sold me a broken PS4 Pro. Brought it back not even 24 hours later, when testing it they said it “didn’t do that when they had it”. Had to argue to get a refund and not just store credit. What am I gonna do with $400 of store credit? Tried to offer me a PS4 that was being traded in that day but told them I didn’t want anything else from them. They agreed it was messed up and had to be fixed, should have never been sold in the first place. Beware when buying systems from here!

They have an amazing selection of old games! My friends and I walked in; we’re blown away on how sweet the staff is at this location, how knowledgeable they are and how well kept systems and games are. If you get the chance to visit this store please do, we will definitely be coming back as often as possible!! ( Also, i should add that they are WAY cheaper than anywhere online or nearby places would have.)

Every time I have visited this store I was greeted with awesome customer service. The Employees are very nice and helpful and I’ve never had any issues with the games that I’ve purchased. The game I recently purchased I paid only 1$ extra for a form of (care package) my words for lack of remembering official terminology. And before leaving the store I asked if they could buffer my new game (included in the care package) for me just to make sure it was as clean as possible before I headed 30 minutes back home. And the employee was very kind and happy to help me! I like this store a lot!

It was great the pictures they show on the website is what it had before. I live in four oaks so its a 40 minute drive but I was a little disappointed to find a small variety of retro and classic games. I was surprised to see PS3 and PS4 games being a retro store. There was service was good need more classic game stores like this.

I really enjoy shopping at PnT more than any big retailer. Theyre the only store within 100 miles that deals in anything retro gaming. I noticed during my last visit that their retro inventory is a bit smaller than usual, but if nobody is trading in old stuff, theres no stuff to sell, which isnt their fault, this area just doesnt have the big retro gaming community that other areas do, which is a bummer.Their prices are fair; sure, you can find cheaper online, but Id rather spend a little more money and keep local people in business. I get enough other stuff from Amazon, its nice to have a local place around and I dont mind helping to keep it that way.The staff is always courteous to me, trying to help me find what Im looking for, even if they dont have it, they offer 101 other ways for me to get it, which is nicer than just telling me sorry, out of stock. Theyre always nice to my kids when they come with me, offering free lollipops and temp tattoos and being good sports.This area is hard on retro Game collectors, but Im glad these guys are still around, even if a bit out of my way. Ill make the trip to see these guys first.

Cool selection of retro games and the accessories you would need to play your older systems on new TVs but the customer service is terrible. In on a Saturday night with multiple customers in the store browsing. Not a single employee offered help to anyone. They were all too busy chatting it up with a friend at the counter. I left without a purchase. I can the same items on eBay with probably better customer service and cheaper.

They have some good games. Wish they had a better selection but what can you do. Its old video games and Im sure they get a lot of business. Its hard to stay in stock in stuff thats disappearing/mostly being sold on the internet at competitive prices

At first we really enjoyed coming here because they were the only place around that sold older games. But as we continued to come back, our experiences just seemed to get worse. The games are rather overpriced... I could buy the same game for significantly cheaper online. The employees never really spoke to us the entire time we were there. Their selection of games is generally not great. Almost their entire PlayStation 3 section is Madden and other sports games. Even most of the games they have for older systems are not too good. They have before given us the wrong game, when we told them about it, they just blew us off. They have also sold us a defective cartridge. Generally I would not recommend this place, if you want to buy older games just buy them online.

I previously had a bad encounter with this store regarding a defective product but upon returning I was met with a kind employee or manager named Joe who I hadnt seen previously. He was understanding and courteous making my next visit with them much more pleasant. 5 stars

This place is the definition of bait and switch I took a game system in to have it repaired I was told to repair was $140 well come to pick up the game system and told my final bill was 158 the story gets better, I said the guy on the phone the other day said I owed 12750 which would be the owner so this guy calls the owner looks the receipt Prince up another receipt has no idea what hes doing behind the counter once again its a know-it-all beyond the counter, so we go back and forth about multiple things and he keeps calling me owner because he cant make his own decisions because he has no goal or legs to stand on. Prior to this I called to purchase another game system I was told it was 219 back from the person repairing it ice is awesome Ill take it so I got a phone call Two Weeks Later says oh I made a mistake its 375 Isis thats not even close to what you quoted me $260 more do you have anything for 2:19 nope this is the only system Ive got, so today same person tells me he had multiple systems for the same price which was a lie because I came in there and looked around and there were no systems for the same price I didnt speak to anybody I want to prove my point. So after today Im going to tell everybody that goes anywhere near this place the Chris the owner and whoever the fingernail chewing snowflake that was behind the counter today that has no backbone and has no idea what hes doing stay away this place is garbage go to GameStop you got a better shot at buying a refurbished unit from them straight from their shop or Sonys for 249 definitely worth the money and the customer service this place is an absolute joke Play N Trade should be out of business really soon if not hes greasing the right palms and doing all the wrong things what an absolute joke to customer service in this day in age

I’ve been shopping at this store for A few years now and I have always experienced excellent customer service and a great staff friendly and Knowledgeable.I have always found the prices to be lower than most competitors.I had a 3DS repaired there Before and I’m happy to say it still works perfectly.Our last family purchased was an Xbox One for Christmas it was a great price and my kids love it.

This is one of the best game store(s) ever! I got my Sega Genesis from here an I love it. Also I love the fact that there is always something different and new that you have not seen.

The people that work there are more concerned about when they can go smoke than dealing with the customers. They dont greet you, they dont interact with you, they just talk to each other and ignore you. Id love to go here more since they have older games, but if you dont even get treated like a customer, why go?

This is a great place and they have a fantastic group of people for the staff. The guy working at the time listened to everything I had to say patiently and answered all mine and my wifes questions about games we were looking at. The have great trade in values and fair prices on video games. The part I like the best is they still carry and take in as trade retro video game items!

Ive only been here once. The guys seemed nice, but prices on some of the game were pretty wild. And if you purchase a defective game they dont give your money back. They only give store credit even if you make a return within​ the 30 day window they give you. I dont like that because if theres a specific item that you want and if it happens to not work now youre forced to buy something else if they can fix the defective item.

Friendly staff. There are usually some fun things in stock, but call in if you want something specific.

A wonderful store to do business with and return to over and over again.I came to the store to let go of some of my beloved collection as a part of decluttering and they were very friendly with my during the whole transaction and even enjoyed talking about the various games as they were looking into the sale/trade value. On this visit I actually got to meet the owner Joe and can tell you he is very knowledgeable on a lot of the older consoles. The only qualm I really have is I dont have enough money in my wallet to buy what I want! but that being said their prices are very reasonable and you wont find a more friendly bunch of people at a game stop.So stop on by! re-live a small slice of your childhood and maybe pickup that retro game/console youve been wanting because more than likely.. Theyll have it!

Lets be honest any game that they get thats worth something thell post online and sell it on eBay. they dont give a dookie . The story is just a cover....I was in yesterday and picked up 3 Playstation 2 games at buy 2 get 1 at .the free game though its so scratched its not playable in neither of my PlayStation2units. unfortunately I was on the way back from the beach when I stopped in to the store I live nearly 40 minutes awa so its not even worth me driving back.this game should have never been sold as scratched it as it is. I will not be returning to this store. My pictures are posted in photos section. I was within my 48 hours but I cannot drive all the way down there from here unless I make a trip of it

I had shopped at the store in Cary, so I figured that Id try this location to see what games or retro items they may have that Id like to purchase. When I walked in, there were a group of guys playing video games. Couldnt tell if they worked there or if they were hanging out, but I wasnt greeted or even acknowledged. As I made my way to the front counter, I could hear immature taunting and profanity coming from the guys at the front door playing games. No big deal, just comes with the territory of gamers.I browsed through the games they had in the show cases and they were rare over priced games. Some were in terrible condition and they were trying to charge $80 for a PSOne Game. I wanted to see if they had any retro systems....they did but they were all dirty and also, overpriced. I walked around and got more annoyed with the childish comments coming from the front, but the final moment was when one of the guys in the front told the employee I was talking to that he should stop being antisocial and join them at the front.As a former GameStop employee and manager, whoever said that they were more friendly than your neighborhood GameStop is a paid reviewer. Wont waste my time going there again.After reading other reviews, its apparent that the management staff is in denial. Perhaps Matts Game Exchange in Greensboro is a much better choice for retro and modern games.

I went to the Garner, NC store last night, 2/28/16 at 6:30 pm, with my husband and 20 month old toddler. A guy working behind the counter shot a rubberband at me and my toddler and laughed about it. I think this is very inappropriate and immature. I have met 13 year old children that have more respect for people than this.

Games are a rip off and staff was very unfriendly. Used versions of games are only $2-3 cheaper then a new version. Target has Mario kart 7 for $30 and they have a used copy for $27. When I asked the employee he lied to me and said it goes for $40 new. The other guy working wasnt being helpful or patient with a customer in the store with a disability. Very disappointed.

The guy with the long hair and his co worker was very rude to me and my son.Had a question about a game that was coming out.Guy had an attitude.Very rude and unprofessional.I left.Play N Trade needs to be shut down.And be reported to the better business bureau.That is why Gamestop, Edward Mckays, and Trade it will always be better.Hope they run them out of business.The staff at PNT are rude, immature and unprofessional.The manager needs to fire 98% of these workers.

I would go to this place a lot. This was a place where I could actually find out what was good and what not to get. After a while I guess things changed and moving product was more important just like Gamestop.I could go in and look for a new game to play and hear that I need to play Madden or Battlefield. I dont play those games. Madden is the same game over and over and I do not like games that are only PVP. Then I would be told that I would like the new one because there are new things to do. I had an honest employee once tell me I wouldnt like a certain game and he was given a weird look by the owner. If you do not pre-order a game, you cant really get it at this place. Their venders do not send them as many games because they are small. You can order it and get it in a couple days or just go to Gamestop or Bestbuy. The last straw was when I was looking for a good game to play while waiting for Destiny. I was told Sniper Elite was going to be great. Lots of good reviews and all around good stuff. The manager told me he was looking forward to it and planning on getting it. So I ordered it. I pick it up and then found some reviews of the PC version and the console version. Not very good and didnt sound like something I would want. I tried to return the unopened game and was met with resistance. I have been a customer here since the store opened. I purchased a lot of things and never had a return. Why am I getting blow back from this? I am not the type to think I get anything special because I am a long term customer but why am I having trouble here. I had the receipt. I purchased it 2 days ago and its unopened. The manager forgot what he told me. He forgot that he was only trying to sell me something. This was actually a special order game. They would have never gotten the game if I hadnt ordered and it wasnt very popular. But a week ago this dude told me it was going to be great and he was getting it. The MANAGER had to call the owner. He did not want to give me my money back or credit. I had to pull a tv customer line. Well if that is the policy, then why is that not on a sign, on the receipt or even told to people? Finally got store credit and put the remainder on destiny. Picked up destiny and never went back. Might as well go to Best Buy where you can pick up the game right then instead of order it and wait a few days after it comes out. Saw a list of terrible games tonight and it reminded me of this. If you want a used game for a console you cant find, go here. If you want a new game, accessories, toys and collectables, go to Bestbuy or Gamestop. Gamestop is just as crappy but has better structure, more options and more stock.

I legitimately dont know what those one star reviews are about, but I question the personality of the reviewers, and find their expectations suspect. I wasnt offered a foot massage when I went in, if thats what the 1-stars wanted, but I was given great video-game related service. they didnt harass me to buy (they were entertained by me harassing myself to buy though), they let me browse all I wanted, showed me items of interest, and put me on a waiting list for a console that I really wanted. ( i had asked about the console, was disappointed they didnt have one, they offered to put me on the list. easy, right?)It felt more like hanging out with old friends than having some guy paid to kiss my butt try to sell me everything in sight like an annoying corporate shill. The first time I went in I walked out with an Atari 2600 and several games, all tested, and working fine. What more do you want from a video game store? whenever I go in I make sure to buy just to help keep business going. Got a Pokemon Badge set last time, my friend is going back for a Cube and Double Dash.plus good luck going to gamestop and finding original gameboys, snes, nes, ataris, dreamcast...actually gamestop is the place that pointed me to them (wanted RE4 on gamecube, didnt know GS had stopped carrying old cube games. ill get my classics from PNT, and my new from GS)

I bought a Call of Duty Black ops 2 for $33. Brought it back probably 2 hours later because the multiplayer mode would not work (it would freeze the xbox). Even though the product was defective, it was the same cashier, and I had my receipt- they would not refund my money. They offered to clean my disk (why wasnt it cleaned to begin with?) or store credit. So buyer beware with these guys. If you get a messed up product youre not getting your money back.

Good store with friendly employees. Not a bad stock of retro games, but lacking a bit on systems.

Place sucks. Overpriced games. The kid with the septum ring working the cash register had an attitude. Also the memory card that I bought didnt even work. I will not recommend this store to anyone.
