Moist, delicious cake. One of the best cakes Ive had in a while. A little pricey but worth every penny without a doubt.

These folks are amazing. We needed cupcakes for a school event but our car broke down and we could not pick up our order. On very short notice, the great folks at Sugarlicious actually delivered the cupcakes to the school for us!! It is so rare that anyone goes out of their way for you these days but they certainly did. I’ve ordered from Sugarlicious twice now, both times for my wife’s birthday. She loves Halloween so I’ve made it a tradition to get her a Halloween themed cake.Last year it was a black cake with fondant moons and pumpkins on it. The fondant was delicious (for fondant, which we’re not too crazy about) and the cake looked amazing. This year we got a Nightmare Before Christmas cake with Jack Skellington’s face on top in piped buttercream, again it looked amazing.If you have any reservations about ordering from Sugarlicious, put them to rest. They will do you right. The girls are sweet, dedicated, patient, and talented. Easy 5 stars.

I ordered 75 individually wrapped cookies and a cake for my daughters graduation. Lets just say Awesome!... The cookies were good and the cake was to die for! It was moist and taste so good. I will be using them again☺️

This was my 1st visit to this location. I had been to the other location a few times thats now closed. I ordered the Vanilla Cake and Vanilla Icing single cake slice. It was a big slice of cake. The total cost was $5.30 which wasnt bad compared to restaurants and other places. The young guy that waited on me was friendly and he put on plastic gloves to slice and box the cake slice which I appreciated. The store seemed clean not busy at the time I was there. I have to say not sure if it was fresh or not. Cake was dry and icing was ok. So for me on this visit my purchase was just okay. At the other location every time I went there and got cake and cupcakes it was delicious.

We ordered a dozen cupcakes and a round cake for my daughter’s first birthday. Both came out perfectly and were delicious. We’ll be using them again.

Meg was a huge help today. I needed a rush order of cupcakes and they were able to deliver them with a special note right away. My sister said they were moist, flavorful and soooo good. Thanks so much for the delicious cupcakes and excellent service on a whim.

I ordered 2 cakes 2 weeks in advance for my elopement. They were not prepared in advance. The promised flavors were not given. The colored better was kids birthday cartoonish. They dont even have appropriate boxes for transporting. They were over priced and now I see why they ask for payment in advance so youre stuck with them cause who is gonna spend s other 160 dollars on cake. DO NOT TRUST THEM FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION!!!

Nasty. I had a craving for some good cheesecake so I decided to give this place a whirl. Whew. I would have been better off surpassing my craving and opting for a $1 pie from McDonald’s instead. If you are going to charge $6 for a slice of cheesecake you might wanna switch up your recipe. It was dry as a bone and didn’t even taste like cheesecake. Don’t get me started on that icing. Maybe I’ll try this place again sometime but for now I think I’m A-OK!

My first time visiting the bakery and the location is nice. I ordered the cherry almond cake slice and it was gigantic. The cupcake special of buy 5 and 1 free was a deal I partake in also. Very favorable cupcakes and cake slices.

I recently ordered their iced cookies for my birthday. Had several calls explaining how I wanted them. Text several pictures of what I was looking for. I was asked to pay for my order in advance. I had never heard of this. Hopefully they werent profiling. I said I would prefer to pay once I get what I had requested. She explained they have had people not showing up. So, I went ahead and paid for them. $63 for a dozen and a half cookies. They were over a 35- 40 min drive from me in pouring down rain. I go to pick them up and wait for some one to come out from the back. No customer service. No greeting. Just hands me a box on the back counter. When I look inside the cookies looked like my kid made them. Like really? All of the conversations we had and all of the pictures I sent and I got over priced basic cookies I could have made at home. I will never order anything from them again. If it wasnt my birthday and I had the time. I would have asked for a refund.

The wedding cake for our daughters wedding was beyond amazing! Not only was it delicious, it was absolutely beautiful! We are still getting comments on how wonderful it was! Kelly and staff were great to work with, saw our vision and executed it to a tee! We could not have been more pleased! I highly recommend!

I ordered a cake for my mother-in-laws 50th birthday and the cake was made days ago. The icing was dry and cracking. I asked for purple butterflys because her favorite color is purple and they made purple butterflys and the put yellow dots on them. I never asked for yellow at all on the cake I asked for green and purple. Cake was not worth the 73 dollars I paid for it. It was decorated with absolutely no effort or care. I have had better cakes from walmart. I would not recommend anything from sugarlicious bakery if you need it for a special event.

I ordered a Mickey Mouse birthday cake for my son’s second birthday and paid $64 for it I also took a picture of the cake before I left the bakery when I ordered it but when I get home from picking the cake up it is not the right cake I am very dissatisfied and will not be using this bakery again.

My daughter had my birthday cake made here .. it was delicious. We’ve had many cakes from here over the years and seems they are even better than in the past. Love 💕

I don’t know why this place is so popular. It’s awful. The icing tastes like they poured sugar straight into butter. It’s crunchy! The cakes are dry and dense. When I eat a cake, I want a moist soft flavorful cake, complimented by a fluffy, non-crunchy, smooth, delicate frosting. This place is not it!! I can make a better cake in my own kitchen from a box. I don’t get it, either people really have never eaten decent cake in my area or there’s something wrong with me? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wow, where do I start? The pieces of cake are tremendous . My daughter and I had a piece of banana pudding cake and it was heavenly . My friend had the coconut cake and it was the size of 3 pieces. She said it was delicious. I wanted to buy one of every cupcake, brownie, cookie and cake. When I took the first bite, I couldnt wait for the next bite and the next. You will love this place and come here for your sugar fix again and again. This place is pure amazement! Trust me you will love it!

The owner, Kelly, sat down with me and discussed the cake I wanted for a small baby shower. We agreed upon a 9 inch round cake. I sent a picture of the cake to her as well. The cake I received was nothing like I ordered. It was HUGE! I needed to feed 10-15 people and this cake would have fed 100-150 people. It was square, not round. But the thing that embarrassed me was the quality of the product. The cake itself was over cooked. It looked as if it had fallen while cooking. As a result, I believe there was an attempt to make the cake look presentable by using icing to build it up. As a result, there was a disgusting amount of icing on this cake. I’m talking 2 inches thick. The icing tasted good. The cake itself was not good. The excessive icing only made the finished product taste worse!! I was extremely embarrassed to have served this cake!! I am not one to post negative reviews. I called the shop and asked to speak to the owner to discuss my experience. Maybe a new person made this cake? Maybe there was a miscommunication? I was willing to discuss. However, Kelly never returned my call. Very unprofessional n not acceptable. I will never use this bakery again and will not ever recommend it to anyone. Beware!! I have pictures n will post them if I can.

I made an appointment to speak to the baker about a wedding cake (over a week in advance). When we got there, we were informed the baker had just left. I left my phone number so she could contact me when she got back in. I never received a call. Im obviously not going to trust someone to have my cake done by a certain time when I cant even get in contact with them.

Had trouble finding a bakery to make a pretty simple bday cake for my husband. The corona issue has many places closed ☹️. I kept looking on internet for one, and found Sugarlicious. I called on a Friday needing the cake for Monday. Just a simple 3 layer white cake, cream cheese frosting with strawberries between layers and garnish on top. I was told no problem, $35 and will be ready between 4-6 the next day. This was a surprise for husband. I usually make one myself every year but thought that a BAKERY cake would surely be way better. I mean, they are a professional, right? Well, i had lots to do on pick up day. I planned my errands and went to get the cake after 4. I drove from York SC. My son and I arrived at 4:20. It was busy with 3 customers. I finally told the young man my name and I was picking up a cake. He went to get it and came back saying it would be about 15 more mins. Ok I thought. I can wait. We sat and stared at the cupcakes, cookies and all. And i was looking at the pricing board. I saw cookies $2.00. Well it was longer than 15 mins so I ended up buying a cherry lemon cupcake and some cookies. BTW, the owner was announcing buy 5 cookies get one free. A girl ahead if me bought some. They were in the display case. Cute shaped iced cookies. She did the buy 5 deal. I thought they were the board price $2 each. They WERE the only cookies in the display case! I followed suit! The young man put them in a styrofoam box. I opened and let my son get one. THEN the young man tells me the price! $4 each! He said the chocolate chip ones were $2. They werent in the display. They were sitting on a stand off to the side. I was embarrassed so I paid the ridiculous price! We were STILL waiting on my cake!!! The owner apologized and said they thought I’d be closer to 6 for pick up. THEY told me between 4-6. We got tired of waiting and told her we’d ride around for little while. It was 4:45 when I left. I got back at 5:15, went in and owner met me saying she’d bring it to my car. I thought she meant right then. Ok, I went to my car and WAITED, and WAITED. It was nearly 5:40! Needless to say I was aggravated!! I went back in. Owner was flying around telling people how busy they’d been. Young man finally waited on me and I’m sure he could see the look on my face! He went back and came out saying they were boxing it. WOW..15 mins turned into nearly 2 hours!!! So, time to eat...OMG!Disappointment doesn’t even describe it! Tonight I read several reviews matching my problem. WAY too much icing. You can’t even taste the cake for the frosting overwhelming you. The frosting was not cream cheese like she told me. It was reg buttercream. The cake had no flavor. Not at all what I expected from a bakery. She also told me there would be strawberry filling between layers. Not sure what happened but when I cut the cake there was many places with no filling. Then there were blobs of it. Lots of icing though, like 2 inches worth to fill gaps. The ONLY thing they did right was strawberry garnish on top. Oh, they felt so bad about my long wait, the young man said owner told him to give me. $25 gift certificate!NOW I know why..they royally screwed up my cake AND made me wait 2 hrs for it! Oh and the certificate, it’s for there of course. Ha! Anybody want it!?I WON’T go back!

My husband got my birthday cake(vanilla cake with vanilla butter cream icing) a few days ago. He paid $45 dollars for 9 inch round cake with six-thin layered cake. It actually tasted good but the ridiculous amount of icing it had on made me sick. My husband and I ended up scraping off top and side and in between layers so we could eat thin layers of actual cake. So we threw away about a half of the cake into trash. We wont buy from this bakery again. I think a regular grocery store bakery taste better than this. For $45 cake I expect much more quality.

I usually use a different bakery but since the virus outbreak I had to choose another place. Iv used this place once before along while ago at the old location when it was owned by a different person but the cakes are way to sweet and the particular staff I dealt with weren’t to friendly but I was out of options and this place is under new ownership as it seems so I called this bakery to see if I could send a picture of the cake I wanted and get a price. The girl I spoke to gave me a number for Kelly so I texted the phone number and told her my name and that I needed a cake and wanted a price on it. A little while later kelly texts back and says“ Hello Brandon, this would require a printer for cakes and I do not have one, I apologize! Thank you for thinking of us!“.I will post a photo of the cake and the text msg if needed but the cake did not require a printer this was hand carved but if she wanted to use a printer for the cake and did not have one to use then that’s totally fine I was not upset about that part but the message wasn’t professional in my opinion. She could have called me or text me back to discuss other options or if I wanted a different type of cake but she didn’t do that to me it was just like “well we don’t have a printer for your cake goodbye” what happen to places earning your business ?? and even though she used nice word like I apologize and thank you for thinking of us that don’t make up for the lack of customer service or trying to earn my business in another way. I called another bakery and the lady told me they don’t do cakes like that but she would love for me to look at her Facebook page and they would love to make a cake for me even if it wasn’t that one. Now in my book that’s professional. I’m not sure how this place is still in business if she does other customers this way.

Cupcakes were dry, cannoli tasted like a creme horn from grocery store, magic bar was pretty good. I dunno if it was an off day or what. I used to love this place. I was very disappointed :-(

The different varieties of offerings are always interesting. My chief complaint is that the frosting is too heavy and needs to be lightened up some. Its good but its difficult to eat a whole one because its so dense. Its probably some of the heaviest frosting Ive ever had anywhere. I have no doubt that it is buttercream but it could use some tweaking. The last time I was there they were out of bags as well.

This is an awesome place to go and get a treat. The cakes are exceptional. The décor is cute. I Love the fact they put Jesus in it.

I brought my wedding cake from them only because my husband heard good things. Not only was it over price it was the most ugly cake I brought. It wasn’t how we expected and it look like they didn’t work on it. It had soo much icing that when it started melting it drop our cake top and break it. I called to get my money back and she said I can bring the cake back to get it. On my weeding day I didn’t think this would happen but this is going to be the last time I go to them. Please don’t buy a wedding cake here. They do more for cupcakes then cakes.

My dad has been under the weather and he is starting to be back to his normal self. He loves sweets so I decided to take him a surprise. Its was my 1st time going to sugarlicious. And it will not be my last. I called him this morning and he said it was the best. Choclate cake and also a pecan bar. So very impressed. We will definitely be back. I also got me a cherry lemon cupcake and my son the coolest dinosaur cookie that we both loved..

It was good but I have more complaints than I do praises... first when I went in to see how much my sons smash cake would be the teenager working said she would go ask and told me $12 and they will do whatever I want. I should have known that wasn’t the case but hey I had never been here or bought a smashcake before! When I came back weeks later to place my order I sat with a lady who wrote everything down and it turned out to be $50!!! That’s nowhere near $12! Then when I got the cake that weekend 1) it was nowhere near the color in the picture I sent her. The blue was very dark like a navy blue and in the picture it was a brighted blue..like what a baby boy would have! Even though the blue was pretty it still wasn’t what I asked for and if it was a cake smash cake for a little boy why would it be navy blue? Smh! And 2) I had asked for marble and they gave me vanilla! If I’m going to spend $50 for a cake to be made for PROFESSIONAL photos I would like a place to get a simple order that was written down on a form that they read all the time...so other than the place smelling good and the little taste of smash cake we tasted..I don’t think I would go back or recommend this place saddly.

I bought some cupcakes for my birthday party and I was really disappointed on how they turned out. I bought twelve cupcakes for 40 dollars and each cupcake was a disappointment. The icing was lopsided on each cupcake and all my friends said it tasted like a dry muffin. In my opinion I have had Walmart cupcakes taste better than this.

Horrible. This cake was suppose to be the focal point of this prince themed shower and it looked like someone who decorated their first cake. The fondant crown looked like something a 3 year old cut out. The blue piping bled in the white icing. It was sooo embarrassing. This cake was not cheap and everyone who saw the cake couldn’t believe the cake was from a “bakery”.

Anyone who says this place is less than 5 stars, is either a liar or doesnt know what good baked goods are. Jenns is the best in Gastonia. The best Ive EVER had. My only con is that the hours are weird. I tried to get cake pops from this place for a few weeks and they were always closed. Not open Sun-Tuesday and close early on the other days. So check the hours so you know when to go! Because if you expect something delicious and theyre closed, youll be mad! I know from experience... :)

My husband and I went in there when it was Jenns Sugarland Bakery (when it first open. I love a good bakery! I ordered a red velvet cupcake and was highly disappointed. I expected a REAL red velevet cupcake, not a store bought tasting mix! The icing didnt even taste like it had any cream cheese in it at all. To be honest it tasted like sweet cardboard. I am still shocked at how many people actually use this place. Because even the fondant cakes that had on display and I their portfolio looked awful. I guess some people just dont have any taste.
