I have received the equipment ordered and I have found the instruction on the web. However, due to my lack of experience (and knowledge), I have not been able to get everything connected and working. Porter is great. I bought a 35 mm camera from them and they sent it right away. There were some issues with the cameras function, normal stuff that happens with used cameras due to wear and tear, and they provided me with a shipping label for free and fixed the camera TWICE and sent it back to me, with ZERO charge. Ideally, it would have worked perfectly, but that is not their fault, this kind of stuff is to be expected with older used cameras. They were easy to reach via email and quick to respond. Purchased a used VCR for a Christmas present for my wife (she has a lot of exercise tapes she uses). Couldnt get it to work properly, so contacted Porter for advice. Long story short: sent it back, but it tested out fine, but a replacement was sent at no cost to me. Turns out some of the old tapes were the primary culpret, and the replacement is up an running. Very responsive business, and I recomment them highly.

I ordered a SONY VHS DVD player recorder for the purpose of converting my old VHS tapes to digital format. I like so many other people who used VHS camcorders in the past have all kinds of tapes from when my kids were young and trips we took. I had been looking for some time for a vhs unit to do this with whe I came across Porter Electronics. The price for these is rather high but you cant just get one that works anyplace you look anymore. I took a chance on this one and when it came I was amazed first at how well it was packaged. You could have played football with this package and not hurt the contents within. When I got it open and saw the fantastic condition of this unit I was once again amazed. The unit looked brand new and even had one of the factory advertising stickers on it like when it was brand new. I hooked it up and used it on the first tape and all worked perfectly. I have since run more tapes and allare working flawlessly. Most of these tapes are from the early 90s and I really expected them to not even turn once in the machine. I am pleasantly surprised and pleased to see all going as I had hoped it would. I am very happy with my purchase from Porter Electronics and will definitely use them again for more needed electronic purchases. If you have the sasme needs I did this is definitely the place to purchase from.

The VCR looks brand new, and functions flawlessly! Porter provides a full 90-day warranty with all of their reconditioned electronics, but I opted to purchase their optional 1-year extended warranty for extra peace of mind. I also purchased the VHS to Digital Converter kit so that I can convert home movies into digital format. The digital converter works great, and Ive already converted some of my home movies. Helpful hint for others using the VHS to Digital Converter kit, make sure and turn off ALL anti-virus software before installing the converter software, even Windows Defender (you can turn it back on after the converter software installation is complete).
