This Maj-r thrift seems to oddly be politicizing the mask mandate in KC & North KC & staff is not wearing masks. The mandate got extended to October so I’m unsure why this Maj-r thrift location is not encouraging mask wearing in the store when MO is a hot spot for COVID & emergency room beds are at max capacity. Very odd.
I enjoyed looking around, a nice selection of items. I hope the company realizes the prices are way too high. I left and went to Ross and TJ Max and bought new for a $1 to $3 more. If prices are fair and reasonably lower I would come back. Sad.
A lil overpriced on some items in my opinion. But overall good selection(s). Friendly/helpful employees.
You are SO Busted! Military mom abused while trying on clothes. Door was unlocked by staffer she then tried to force it open. Have shopped here for years. I never would trust them with a debit card.#likeness#lawsuit#
They had quite a lot of things here. More to offer than some Goodwills.
This is a nice big thrift store.. they have all kinds of things at a decent price. Clothes, dishwares, furniture, stereos, glass wear.. stop in and check them out, you may find something you need!
Poor selection of items. Customer service is not noteworthy, seemed like they didn’t care.
Always had everything I need and more! Better quality than some of the other thrift stores in the area.
The most organized and clean thrift store Ive been to in a long time. Employees wore masks over nose AND mouth. Thank you for the great experience!
I love this place! They have better quality items that still have the original price tag stating hundreds of dollars (sometimes) but they do the research on what its worth. I dont like how the shoes are organized but i can see how that would be time consuming. You never see the same clothes there and they have great weekly deals, every sunday is 20% and during the week you have 3 options for discounts on colored tags. I signed up for their rewards program and get coupons every third visit that increase in value. Great place, clean, organized, quality is astounding and I even found LuLaRue leggings for just a few bucks! They only have one bathroom but it definitely exists and a testing station as well, for stuff that plugs in and they have batteries set up for you to use! I asked an employee if i could open a bag of items to test them and she assisted me with no hassle what so ever!!!Amazing place. I got a 1950s Bell and Howell moving picture camera for 6 bucks thats worth at least 60 online.
Better than some of the other thrift stores in the area! Prices are cheaper, and staff is much friendlier!
Great prices and helpful customer service! Lots of good buys.
Prices were not very thrifty, but had to have fresh backpack
They used to have a larger location, in Claycomo. I liked that one better, more room to get around. Now its a bit crowded. I dropped off some stuff. So it was ok
This thrift store believes that it is a real store and that they can charge people outrageous prices for 2nd hand stuff. They need to remember that they got all of their inventory for free. Also that the people who shop there most likely dont have a lot of money to pay for these things or else they would go pay full price and get the stuff brand new. Maj- r- ripoff.
So many items to choose from. I loved it, just wish there was a store in Wyandotte county.
Same as pre-Covid except plexiglass shield at the check out.
I always find hidden treasures here.
The prices at this thrift store are ridiculous for clothing with new tags that have never been worn. This thrift store is charging $20-40 for these items of clothing. I can pay those prices at a clearance sale at a major department store and I know they are not 3-4 seasons old. If you are looking for clothes that are new and have never been worn I recommend turn style thrift in mission, KS and they are more reasonably priced. They charge $5.00 to $15.00 for clothing with department store tags (never been worn) I will definitely not be shopping at this thrift store.
Would rate this store with 0 stars but is not an option. Manager is beyond rude and disrespectful to customers and employees. Its disgustingly filthy and not organized well at all. The manager tried to say my friend is considered trespassed because she complained about her customer service skills when my friend hasnt done anything wrong except COMPLAIN! Would NOT recommend this store to anyone unless you want to feel uncomfortable because of the manager. Wish I could report her to the owner.
Went there for file folders they didnt have what I needed.. but they were very nice
Always has friendly staff and unique items. Clean and easy to find items. Kid friendly environment and clean dressing rooms.
It was ok but received no discount because it was Sat she said.
I had a horrible experience and i enjoy going to thrift stores the lady who was running the front desk was very rude to my boyfriend for asking to ise the restroom and no customer service skills she started raising her voice yelling at me about the policy ...if there is no price they cant sell it well there are many of things in that store that is not priced im over it just lost a customer hope it was worth it she had short red hair hates people then she needs to find a new job or get some help with customer service skills
Nice Place to shop
Good the price are rigth keep up good job
I donate clothes, household items and lots of childrens toys here quite frequently. They always take everything I have to give, no giving back unwanted items which is nice. They have a very wide variety of everything and anything clothes (a little too outdated for my liking), toys and more toys, shoes, and lots of home furnishings. My only thing here is that they dont offer even a slight discount on purchases when you donate and the prices are extremely high for used good in not so great condition. I do not donate for discounts I genuinely like giving things to those that will find use of whatever it is Im parting with, but it would be nice to pay less than $15 for a pair of used water shoes that you can get down the street brand new for only a few dollars more. I would definitely say that MAJ-R-THRIFT is not so second hand when it comes to prices. The store is fairly clean and the staff is friendly. But if you dont have a price tag on an item your planning to buy you wont be taking it home with you. They will NOT sell any item with out its tag that they put on it. Policy they say.
Love this place. My favorite thrift store. I was there for the 4th of July sale and the store looks great. It is much easier to navigate through the isles. Its much more open and inviting. As always everybody that works there is always cheerfully and happy to help.
Great thrift store !! Kind employees
The place is actually called its $5 now. Its a big hit or miss place. If you hit youll go home happy for sure. If you miss try again next time. Saturdays are re-stock days. So those will be the best days to go but will also be most busy days. Pretty cool place if youre looking for anything and everything.
The staff is very unfriendly and rude. The lady at register sneezed all over my bag of items. Didnt bother to use hand sanitizer afterwards. Same junk is always in there. The lady was so rude I will never go back.
1st time here and LOVE it!!!! Very cute clothes and a ton of cute shoes.
I love thrift stores but I think this was better when it was DAV Thrift. The workers we encountered were not friendly, welcoming, or helpful. One worker even got mad at me because I was in her way while I was shopping.
Great place to shop! Great deals and friendly workers. Ronda is doing a great job running things at this store!
Pretty good stuff. Best to just take a look around everything. I’ve gone here with things in mind, and have found random things I’ve loved. Mostly all objects, and a few cool t-shirts in the men’s section. I’ve gotten ski goggles here, a nice Coleman individual water cooler, a lace table runner to use for crafts, some silverware for camping (only like $0.20 a piece!), and just so many random objects. Everything is usually in good condition and well-priced. The only downside is if a price sticker falls off an item, they ship it away to somewhere where they price the items, and then ship it back and contact you. Really annoying for an extremely cheap item.
Employees are always very friendly and very helpful. Good variety of items, great prices and daily discounts are always a plus. I normally shop here at least once a week.
Pretty expensive for being a thrift store. 7.99 to 9.99 for a used/faded t shirt? I think theyre cheaper at Walmart and New.
Their stuff is a lot more reasonable in price than other thrift stores. Things are labeled clearly and they have a whole section of seasonal stuff! I love going here when I get the chance to.
The prices of this place are way too expensive! A USED sweater with a hole, I don’t care how small, should never be 9.99. That is just crazy. I don’t even bother stopping at this one anymore.
Great stuff & Great DEALS!!!
The prices are more like consignment shop prices but with thrift store quality. Very inconsistent pricing also; there were at least 4 different prices ranges marked on very similar styled shirts, for example. No restrooms. But overall a good variety, the store is organized very well and very nice staff.
I like the new location!! Seems much cleaner and more organized. The only thing I didnt like if it was name brand it was pricey, if it the clothing wasnt good quality. I like the old prices lol! Still love this store hopefully somebody changes this
WOW!Love these stores! Superbly clean and well organized. Clerks always willing to help and so friendly, its a pleasure to shop there.
Fround most of what I needed but was a little messy
Im editing this because the new N Oak location sucks. Its WAY over priced and the employees could care less about helping or straightening up the store to keep it organized. Good luck finding anything. Claycomo store was waaaay better LOVED going into that store! It was clean and well organized with a friendly staff always ready to help!
They have good sales, the prices are climbing up and thats sad. I think that if it wasnt for the sale the clothes would be too expensive for used items
They have a good selection, although I think some things are overpriced. Only giving two stars because they dont have a restroom for customers. People take time digging through things, its really ridiculous that they dont have a restroom. Excludes people with medical conditions, or older people, or ones with small kids. I wont shop here again for this reason.
Its clean couldnt find what I am looking for moved on to another thrift store
Great kinda everything available Thrift StoreBest one Ive found so far in the Northland
Quite a variety of clothes
MajRThrift Claycomo, is my favorite Thrift store. We used to live near it. Ive visited their other locations & other Thrift stores but no place else ever tops it. I almost always find everything I came in for...and a few other things too. They also have great sales.
The company being family owned is a huge bonus!
I really enjoy the new layout of the store, the wider aisles make for easier shopping. The staff is always very helpful, its one of my favorite places to shop!
Dropped off a few loads of clothes and household items, the folks there were very friendly and helpful. Go get some great stuff!
I have been going to this thrift store for years and the new organization of the store has made my shopping experience so much more enjoyable and I always find things that I never knew I needed.
Love the friendly staff - but the Fri after Thanksgiving I found a two piece sweat suit with no price - they sent it to be priced - and to this day I still havent heard back about it, will I ever get it ???
Helpful staff. Found what I needed easy. Smaller selection, but thats a bit to be expected.
Always find some great deals. Very helpful service too.
Always have interesting things. And of course they are a Osanam School sponsor.
Clean, Have everything, a place to test electric, keep things organized, always have help at register, very nice and cooperative.
The isles @ your claycomo store have recently been changed for easier access . We really appreciate your help in our shopping !
This is a pretty nice thrift store. My only problem with this place is. They can sometimes be outrageous on there prices.
Great selection, daily discounts. And half off almost everything on most holidays! By far my favorite thrift store.
I a a fan of this store. Good prices and good sales
The staff here are always nice. The prices are more reasonable than other stores.
Good stuff just not my sizes 3 XL+.....
Prices are far to inflated at this store, a simple belt was 9.99 which you can buy a new one for less. Even with the 75% going out of business, prices are pathetic.
All good but just watch Ur money at check out not all of the ladys are bad
Messy inside in some areas. Some good prices and other high prices for anything they think is valuable.
Great thrift store with friendly staff, they have lots of specials for vets and seniors and sunday specials
Store has become ridiculously expensive
Not bad for a thrift store but it is most assuredly a thrift store. Take hand sanitizer.
Prices are rarely decent. Go on a Sunday if you want reasonable prices.
This is one of the best thrift stores in the northland, Hillcrest in Platte city is the only one thats better organized
Helpful staff and usually some awesome deals on vintage and antique items.
Well organized and clean.
They have raised their prices so high I can go to JC Pennys for better deals. I have stopped going there waste of time
Friendly staff got their to late all the good stuff gone
I always find somethig decent here, and its a lot less hit-or-miss than some thrift stores, at least when it comes to non-clothing goods that Im generally looking for, such as electronics and so forth. Good place to stop and check out every so often.
This store I have been in maybe a dozen times. Staff is very unfriendly, they are not helpful. Prices you can get the same item brand new at walmart. If you ask to check a elecrronic to see if it works they will not allow you. They say they price it and put it on the shelf. There is no refunds. Why would i want to pay for overpriced trash if it dosent work..HILL CREST is the place to go.
They staple clothing in a bad place so when u take the staple out, BAM! Hole in your clothing. Not cool! Also way too pricey for items that are GIVEN to them. $99.99 for USED shoes that were DONATED is ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS
I have shopped here for years and have always felt that I was getting a bargain. Employees have always been friendly and helpful.
It is greatly organized and easy to find what you are looking for. Prices are a little higher then other thrift stores in the area.
Nice, well organized, but pricey for a thrift store
Not honest ppl working there as there use to be.use to be a awesome thrift store
Friendly lady & 50-75% off today at Claycomo store. Thank you. They are closing soon supposedly.
Today I was shopping in this store for the first time in many years. We found several of the items we were specifically looking for, but there was no staff anywhere to be found. We rang the bell at the checkout repeatedly. After waiting more than ten minutes (and sending my kids to search the store for a cashier), I finally estimated my total and left the money under the register. So frustrating and unprofessional!!
Very clean and organized!
Good thrift store with good prices and a large selection of items. Probably my third favorite thrift store in the Northland.
The new location is great I love it
Fabulous thrift store prices!
Absolutely amazing place. 1 mans trash and all.
The MAJ-R thrift store that replaced the DAV thift store is more expensive compared to other thrift stores in the area. Not much of a furniture selection. Also dont go there with a full bladder. Been there twice a month apart from each other and the restrooms were out of order both times.
Again, theyve decided to be irresponsible and not require masks. Enter at your own risk
Good selection clean place but some of prices are to high when I can buy same thing new at that price and if it doesnt have it price forget it youre not getting it they have to send it back to the corporate office and reprice it
Great place to find deals on clothes and furniture.
Big selection but way overpriced for what they have. Most of the clothing and shoes looked very worn. I probably wont go back.
Just ok... Customer service not that great.... Could be the kids they got working for them.... Would not let me see if items in plastic bags behind the counter work....😑
The prices at this place are so absurdly high I dont know how they sell anything. And their inventory is all from donations. Save your money and donations for someone else.
