I had a leaky tire and they told me to bring it in and it would be done in a few hours. Turns out they were very busy that day and the repair was delayed by an hour or so but still same day. They were very apologetic and did not charge me for the service because of the inconvenience. Very professional, very friendly, very helpful and great same-day service. I will definitely be using them in the future for auto repair needs. Thank you Car-X!

I paid $1900 for a power staring replace. this was not done. they tell you to call corp. this just a 1800number to empty voice boxes. dont take your car here. go some where eles

I called to confirm pricing and how long it would take to fix my vehicle. When I took it in to get it fixed, the cost ended up being about $200 more and took an hour long than they said. They said the reason it was $200 more than originally quoted was because if they replace part A, they also have to replace part B, but that was never mentioned until it was time to pay. They said the reason it took an hour longer was because they were waiting for the part to arrive at the facility….. I made the appointment 3 days prior and they still didn’t have the parts in?

Roger was great. Gave me a ride home and made the whole experience effortless. The whole experience was super convenient and not of the norm in todays customer experience. Thanks to Carx and its great to not have grinding brake noice anymore.

I used to sell and install tires. The manager charged me an additional $90 above the $99 is already paid and when I asked her mumbled something about valve stems and tpms, as if he thought I wouldnt know what he was talking about. I didnt argue with him but I wont be going back and Ill tell anyone who asks not too go there either. Great way to lose business over a fake $90 charge, I hope it was worth it.

Had them install a hitch bar to my car which isnt one of their standard services, but they were happy to do it if I supplied the bar. They were quick and friendly as always!

I am so thankful that I just happened to pull into their parking lot one day! My car was having issues when it got pretty cold. It would kind of chug and not want to accelerate very well from 0-30 mph and it had issues switching from 30 to 40. The check engine light would come on and go off. When they did their diagnostic it was a MAP sensor. They swapped it out for me and gave me a good deal. The car ran beautifully the next few days. However shortly after it began having the same issues. I happened to be right next to a Hyundai and they noticed some wiring issues that were damaged a long time ago. They could tell because they were corroded. Hyundai quoted me $1000-$5000 to fix these wires in the harness! I could not pay this so the man at Hyundai soldered one wire for me. I took it back to Car X to get a second opinion. Richard took a look at it and said the issue was fixed! There was no other corrosion, everything else was completely fine! He was adamant I did NOT need a whole new harness as Hyundai was saying. I have to admit after fixing the one wire and the new sensor my car is driving like it’s old self. Zippy! So Car X saved me from spending money on an unnecessary $1000-$5000 repair! I absolutely appreciate the honesty and not taking advantage. Richard and his team are very caring and friendly. Felt like I’ve known them a while. I will be back! Thank you!!!

My windshield wipers were terrible and there was no way I could make it any further I seen the car X sign from the freeway so I stopped there hoping to get new wipers changed and I’m so thankful that I did. Richard and the team were awesome to work with providing excellent customer service and prompt turnaround time. In less than 24 hours of my phone call to drop off my truck having battery and starting issues, the guys had it fully operational and back on the road. I have also taken this truck and a previous vehicle here for maintenance and repairs. This shop will always give you an honest, truthful assessment and has very reasonable prices. Another example of this is when I had a complete tire blow out on the highway driving to work in the morning. They helped put my worries at ease and had my car ready to roll with a new tire the same day. In my 2 plus years of vehicle service at this location, I have always left extremely satisfied. You can count on these guys to go the extra mile and provide best in class quality and work.

One of our work vehicles broke down on 394, we had it towed randomly to this shop, the repair bills were quite expensive so I was obviously a little nervous. I had them email over a copy of the estimate to our local repair shop. Everything checked out. It also ended up being quite a bit cheaper than originally estimated. Richard was extremely great to work with and very trustworthy. Highly recommend this company

Went in with the coupon they sent out for a $30 air conditioner performance check. They wouldnt do it and tried to sell me a $150 refrigerant evacuation and refill. I didnt need that, I just wanted to see if I had lost a little refrigerant over the years. And do what the coupon said by checking the system pressures.

One of my biggest fears is taking my car to a shop Im unfamiliar with, let me assure you, these guys will take care of you. Long story short, I showed up to this place late in the day with no appointment and was pleasantly surprised by how welcoming and friendly Richard the Store Manager was. A few minutes of chatting with Rich about my Dodge Chargers issues and I was convinced he was going to take good care of my vehicle. Rich assured me he could get the vehicle repairs done promptly and though I was in no rush, he didnt disappoint. By the next morning Rich had already contacted me via phone call with the diagnosis of my vehicle (Stabalizer links, bar bushings and brake pads/rotors) along with the quoted cost for repair. After talking over a few of my concerns with Rich, he was able to answer all my questions and I agreed to proceed with the repairs for the links and bar bushings. I am extremely satisfied with the level of communication and willingness to work with me through the entire process, at no time did I feel pressured like previous shops have done. The repairs I requested were completed so quickly I couldnt believe it. Before I decided to pick my vehicle up, I changed my mind last minute about doing my brakes. I called Rich back to ask him if it was too late to have the pads and rotors replaced with less than two hours before close! They STILL finished everything and made sure I was able to pick the vehicle up the same day. I will definitely be bringing my business back to this location!

The service that I received was terrible. I used to be able to bring my part and have service done on my vehicle but under Im assuming new management I was not able to do that. I was also very disappointed in the way in which business was conducted the conversation and the lack of regaining my business with them. Customer service is huge and the way that I was treated and talked to was unacceptable and at best be low level standards.

Fantastic service and honest staff. Walser Jeep in Hopkins told me I ABSOLUTELY needed all 4 brakes done- pads AND rotors on my vehicle with only 80,000 miles on it. ($1200 job at the the dealership)Took it here for inspection and told them I was pretty sure it at least needed rear brakes, but turned it doesn’t need brakes at all. So thankful for the friendly and honest staff and will be bringing my car here from now on for every single service. Thank you!

I had what I thought was just a leak in my tire, hoping to get it patched; just as they were closing. Kindly enough they said that theyd fix it up and and stay a bit later. Unfortunately there was a tear in my tire and it couldnt be fixed. Thankfully they had the right sized tires and stayed even longer to put them on. They were nothing but kind and went out of their way to help me out, ensuring I could use my vehicle.

James the manager at the Golden Valley Car-X and his team are great! Always friendly and helpful, they go above and beyond to make sure youre satisfied and your vehicle is taken care of. I have an older Jeep and it needed some overdue routine maintenance a few months ago and they helped me out. More recently my brakes needed some serious attention and James, Roger and the crew were very helpful. They got my Jeep stopping fast and smooth in no time. Their prices are reasonable and fair and Ive never felt like Im being overcharged. Even if its just something basic like an oil change or something more involved theyll make sure its done right!

Richard and his team are fantastic! When my low air pressure monitor went off late on a very snowy Saturday afternoon, I headed to the Car-X for help. Though it was near closing time, they took the car and found I had a nail puncture that could not be repaired. Since it was leaking badly, they put on the spare and suggested I check with my dealer on Monday to see if my tires were under warranty. No charge. Turns out I had no warranty, so I called Richard back on Monday morning. He ordered the tires I wanted, scheduled an appointment for that day and had them on by 3:30 pm. Friendly, helpful and fair, I cant thank them enough for the great service.

Came in with a flat tire, turned out to be a dented wheel as well. Richard took the time to put on the spare and walk me through what I needed to do to fix the problem. Didn’t charge me for the work or the advice, great guy and an awesome team!

My wife and I are from the Kansas City area and were in Minneapolis to attend an event. On the morning that we were to drive back home we noticed one of the tires looked low on air pressure. Upon inspection we found a nail in the tire. We were lucky to be within a short distance to the Car-X on Wayzata Blvd. We were even luckier to meet Richard Davis the Manager. Richard got us into the shop and patched the tire in a very short timeframe getting us back on the road again. Richard Davis is a classy guy running a class shop. He was personable, honest, and just an all around nice guy. I got a brake job done here a couple of days ago. I was impressed that not only after the diagnostic assessment, James told me what he thought was the issue and also took me over to my car and let me check out all of the things he could see. He told me which were the most crucial to fix then and what I could hold off on with complete honesty. My car feels great and the price was very reasonable! I dont have a car repair place in Mpls yet, but this just became that for me.

I first looked into CarX after receiving a coupon in the mail. While it was a great deal for an oil change, tire rotation, and brake inspection, I was still worried about bringing my car in and being told I needed to pay for parts or services I didnt honestly need. I ended up making an appointment- Im glad I did! James was a pleasure to work with and I didnt feel taken advantage of in the slightest, being a 20-something female with very little knowledge of cars. He even took me out into the garage to show and explain to me the condition of my brakes. I felt that his quote was fair, too.I most recently brought my car back to CarX Golden Valley because water was leaking inside the cab and soaking the front passenger-side carpet. James and another mechanic did a water test, found the minor issue, and fixed it for me free of charge! I was so thankful for their help and kindness. Call ahead and ask them any questions you may have because you can expect up-front and honest advice. I highly recommend this location and will be returning for future vehicle needs. Thanks guys!

BUYER BEWARE. I was lured to Car-X (like many) with a coupon for a great deal on an oil change and tire rotation. The good reviews here on Google also made me want to check them out. However, I found out the hard way that this location is one of those mechanics that you fear... I am convinced that this location and its employees created issues in my vehicle (either purposefully or by their lack of skills) and performed shoddy work. Immediately after I had the oil change and tire rotation, all of my tire pressure sensors stopped working. Not even two weeks after I had my oil change, my change oil alert appeared on my dash... I went in and spoke to the manager James regarding these issues. His reply was that they must have forgot to reset my change oil sensor. This was FALSE- my oil change sensor was reset after the oil change and came back on less than 2 weeks later and only after 20 miles driven since the oil change. After seeing the low mileage difference, he attributed the issue of my tire sensors to the overall mileage on my vehicle and said youve got to expect issues with your mileage. My vehicle has been EXTREMELY reliable and has had great care and regular maintenance. Never have I had issues after a routine oil change and tire rotation with any of my sensors. He then quoted me an OUTRAGEOUS price to bring my vehicle back in for diagnostics on my tire sensors... BAD BUSINESS to say the least. Needless to say- I will never return and warn you before you find out like I did... Check out their *Yelp reviews* to see that Im not the only one whose experienced poor-quality service...

James and the rest of the crew at carx golden valley were awesome I had some issues with my jeep and I had a extended warranty contract and they took care of it with no problem and they stayed late to get my jeep done which you dont find too many shops that do that anymore. Unbelievable!.I really dont have enough words to fit into my review with all the specific details I have in mind, although I would just let you know that I once rated this place as 5 stars.Short story:1. After tending to my car this mechanics left my anti-freeze tank loose and let it spill all over my car.2. They wanted to charge me 100$ for belts which dont cost more then 40$, replaced in 30 minutes which costs 100$ labor.3. Tried to make me pay 1,000$ for labor that takes 30 minutes and 800$ for parts which cost no more then 300$ max! found those for 150$ as well! Replaced those parts myself in 1 hour and only paid 25$ for used parts!4. They let me drive on a high-way with an extremely risky car, the risk could be avoided if they would be moral enough to make a simple quick fix which would literally less then 2 minutes! with their bare-hands! but no, they preferred to have me drive on that car with a very high risk.5. Also! after I told them that I found cheaper parts, theyve told me that if I bring my parts (which are cheaper) the price will remain the same because theyll raise the labor price! so by my calculation, parts that cost 150$ will cost me a labor of 1650$ (which shouldnt take more then 30 minutes of work!) just unbelievable, truly... unbelievable!Try to avoid this place unreliable, immoral and theyll rip you off!

Car trouble. I thought I needed brake work. James checked out my Honda, reset some codes and I left with an oil change and a smile. James could have sold me an entire brake job but was totally honest and told me I didnt need it. This is the only place I will take my car for mechanical work. Great shop and great guys! James is the best!

I cant say enough about how wonderful the team (the manager James, Roger, Morgan, Doug, and I think theres one other guy) is. They will go out of your way to make sure youre taken care of--even if it means getting you in last minute or staying a little later to get you out back on the road. James is a stand-up guy...our first introduction to him was due to a oil change coupon my wife and I received in the mail. The oil change was done well, but what really stood out was James kindness. He came across us waiting for our bus (which was about an hours wait) and drove us home, even though it was a different direction from his own route home. That experience made us loyal customers. Several other experiences have demonstrated to us that this shop is fair with pricing and not looking to up-sell you repairs you dont need. I highly recommend working with James and his team if you want to have peace of mind regarding your car, and if you want to be treated like a person rather than a number.

James and his staff are great. The only car repair shop that I trust to advocate for me and my car. Customer service and driving loyalty are clearly the center of what their focuses are. Will refer friends and family.

Roger is extremely polite, helpful, and took care of business without ridiculous fees like other shops in the area.

My 15-year old daughter was rear ended while learning to drive and the person didn’t stop to give his information. It was such a bummer. My bumper was rattling and screeching afterwards, so I called CarX. They got me in same day, fixed it super quickly, charged an EXTREMELY reasonable price, and were incredibly nice about it. I feel like my faith in humanity is restored!
