Took my klr 650 there to get the last 2 wires on wiring harness completed. I get a $800 bill, without my I consent you racked up my bill by looking through a bunch of unnecessary things, which had nothing to do with the issue. You then stripped the head bolt on my motor. Apparently you can’t tell the difference between a pneumatic torque gun to a torque wrench! I think I’m deserving of a pro rated refund! I will not recommend your rip off maintenance department to anyone!

I cannot express my gratitude enough to the service dept for fixing my 02 shadow after a wanna-be mechanic messed it up. These guys are knowledgeable and so professional. They made me feel like I could trust them from the moment I stepped in there. I’m so happy with the outcome. I will take all my bikes there. Thanks guys!!!

What I love the most about SBM, more than their service, more than their parts inventory, more than the awesome bikes they sell, is the people that work there. These are everyday riders passionate about motorcycles and the communities that form around them. I always feel welcome and love to share our common passion for the open road and two wheels. See you all around the apex.

A couple of months ago, I started looking for a new motorcycle. I had two brands in mind (Ducati, KTM) but the bike I was leaning towards was a KTM 1290 Super Duke R. Aside from Bakersfield (50 miles away), I live 2-3 hrs from any KTM or Ducati dealership. My first instinct was to call around to all of the dealerships, to see what they had to offer. With the exception of Santa Barbara Motorsports (SBM), I didn’t get the impression that the dealers wanted to talk on the phone, but rather they pushed for in-person discussions. At this point in my research, I was still collecting information and I wasn’t ready to visit any particular dealership. Then I called SBM and spoke with the sales manager (Beth) and unloaded on her a series of questions about the motorcycle. These were the same questions I tried to ask the other dealerships prior to being asked to come in to talk. I talked with Beth on the phone for 10+ mins about the 1290 and I never got the impression that we needed to move along and take it to the next level. Over the next few days I called her back to get additional information. In addition to the aspect of sales, she was quite knowledgeable on motorcycle details and in particular, the specifics of the 1290. At this point I was sold on the KTM and the dealership, and was I ready to move forward. When I arrived the next day to pick up the motorcycle, both Beth and the owner were there to talk me through some of the details about the bike, along with Derek, who spent a considerable amount of time going through the electronics. After signing the paperwork, Chris (service tech) loaded the bike into the bed of my truck. I had brought two sets of tie-downs to secure the bike to the truck, but after Chris learned that we were traveling 3+ hours on the freeway to get home, he felt that our setup was inadequate. Chris provided 4 additional tie-downs and spent 15+ mins ensuring the bike was securely anchored and there would be no issues getting the bike home. The entire crew at SRM went the extra mile to ensure that I felt as comfortable as possible in making this purchase. You are the type of motorcycle shop that I would not hesitate to recommend to any of my friends. Thank you SRM. Rick

I was ready to buy the one DR650 they had in stock... showed up to pay cash but NO help. No price tag either. I was all over it for about 20 minutes, sitting on it, inspecting it, showing all indications that I’m interested but not one salesman approached me. Oh well... at least now I know not to come here again... I’ll go to Simi Cycles or Calcoast to go pick one up.

Santa Barbara Motorsports is your one-stop shop for motorcycles, parts, and riding gear. They have an excellent selection of bikes and can order just about any piece of gear you need. Their service department is hands-down, the BEST group of technicians in SoCal/Central Cal. They keep my motorcycle running in tip-top shape and are very proactive about addressing items that might lead a safety issue. After all, a well maintained motorcycle is a SAFE motorcycle when youre out haulin through the canyons! If youre looking for an awesome shop that does fantastic work and offers very reasonable prices, look no further than Santa Barbara Motorsports!

Well so far my experience with this dealer has been great. I have been having them swap out tires on my KTM 1090 Adventure R as I go back and forth between two sets of tires. They haven’t scratched my rims at all and the service has been quick and reliable. They always offer to help me carry the tires and rims to my car. This wasn’t expected but I really appreciate it. The guys in the parts department seem knowledgeable and are pleasant and helpful.

The selection of parts and accessories is great here, and the staff are knowledgeable. HOWEVER, my low review is the repeated delays I have had for parts for my bike. I ordered a speedometer cable, and the original arrival was delayed THREE times! Same thing when I needed a turn signal lens. THREE delays. With the lens, the part was given at no charge for the hassle. When my bike was in the shop, my mechanic needed multiple parts for repair. I waited 3 weeks in total due to delays in parts. Anyone who rides knows how depressing 3 weeks of downtime is in the summer. Hey, Parts department! Get it together!!!

Parts and service are some of the nicest guys around. Sales is a little distant, and prices are honestly at a premium due to the locations inherent cost of living. Overall, a good place to support for the community, and if you can afford their new bike prices then you should help keep doors open and our town awesome. If not, then go south and then have your stuff serviced here and buy some parts.

Friendly and helpful staff, decently fair prices on equipment, pretty large selection of motorcycles. All around pretty good though. Only reason its 4 stars instead of 5 is that the prices were all slightly above the price on Amazon for the same product. Although it makes sense since you get to actually try on the products in store.

Had an AWESOME experience buying my first SxS with Randy (Sales) and Peter (Finance) Bruce and Cory (Parts Dept.) . and GOD bless Chris in service for putting our top on!! I guess the best thing you can say about any dealership (car, motorcycle, etc) is that they make the buying process as friction-less as possible. That is the experience I had. Easy to reach terms on the Pioneer 700-4, and everything handled professionally. I would highly recommend this place if you are searching for a new Honda or Yamaha!!Thank you Santa Barbara Motor Sports!

If youre looking to get parts, have maintenance performed, buy tools, get gear, or even purchase a motorcycle, Santa Barbara Motorsports is a great place to go. They have a great selection of gear and can order parts for you.Cory, in the parts department, has always been super helpful whenever Ive had specific needs or parts questions. Hes a cool guy that always hooks it up. Hell look up the parts you need, even if youre not really sure what it is (hell help you figure it out), order them for you and give you a call when they arrive a couple days later. Then you just go in and pick them up in store! For maintenance or any service, Chris is your guy. Hes got tons of knowledge, has a keen sense of what needs to be done, and is amazing at troubleshooting. Hes easy to talk to and has given me suggestions for maintenance and likely solutions numerous times. Hes been correct nearly 100% of the time.Lastly, purchasing a motorcycle is a big step. They have a huge selection of new and pre-owned motorcycles to choose from. Shawn over in sales is a mellow guy whos always looking to strike a deal. If youre looking at purchasing, ask for him and hell do his best to get you the best deal he can.SBM is a great place for all things motorcycle. Check em out!

Review №54

The staff is nice, great selection of bikes, but I went there for a pretty common oil filter and they didnt have it in stock. No big deal. They order it, but I dont hear anything for a week. Still not a big deal, people get busy, maybe I screwed up giving my phone number to them, whatever, things happen. I stop back by, and after looking up the order, the customer service rep (same one who helped me initially) tells me their vendor has them on back order. He should be getting one in, by the following Wednesday, which brings the total time from my initial visit to just over two weeks... waaaayyyy to long to wait for a part thanks common, especially when I can go on Amazon and have one next day, even though Id rather support the local guys. To add to that, I think theres should be a statement in place to let a customer know when an issue like this comes up. I probably would have still been ok with waiting, but that fact that I had to contact them to find out just makes me think this type of order isnt a top priority for this place. Still, like I said, everyone was friendly and helpful when I went into the store/showroom, and they have a large selection of on and off road motorcycles, so if you are in the market for a new or used bike, this could be the store for you.
