I was blown away by the atmosphere and selection! However, as I was leaving I asked the lady with short dark hair and glasses if she could take my empty water glass so it didnt get mistaken as a clean one (Ive never been there before so I didnt know where to put it). I recieved a lazy and short response that sent me wandering around the cafe looking for a spot to set it!

The Chocolate Bar hosted the rehearsal dinner for our wedding. The staff is very easy to communicate with and super friendly! They assisted with set up, meal preparation and serving, alcohol sales, and clean up. The event went so smoothly and the food was delicious (especially dessert).

We had The Chocolate Bar create our tiered wedding cake. It was beautiful and delicious! Our cake was a naked cake and turned out great! If you wanting a naked cake, I’d go to The Chocolate Bar.

I loved this place because I am extremely awkward and socially slow. I am just really shy and have trouble with most things. However, the guy that helped me out there one morning was really helpful and positive! Patient and didnt need to prod. The staff is sweet, they seem nice!

I just stopped in for a coffee on my travels to Colorado and the service was very friendly and exceptional. I’m currently enjoying a hot cup of their coffee. The ambience, decor and vibe of the restaurant is top notch. I will definitely stop there again on my way through Grand Island.

Was there last night for a birthday party. What a lovely little place! Love the downtown location. The facility is well kept and has a nice atmosphere. The help was friendly and the drinks were tasty. Regrettably, the only thing I didnt sample was in fact the chocolate, but everything else was top tier. Happy to drop 5 stars.

Wedding reception September 2017. I spent months planning a wedding day to remember, and meeting with the coordinator of events(Adriana).To say I was disappointed, is an understatement! Told that tea, lemonade &water were free of charge & any other drinks would cost. My invoice stated otherwise, maybe I misunderstood, lets move on. While going over layout, &details of the event we were asked if we wanted to have them provide a cake cutter (an employee to help us cut the cake) in which we agreed to pay for. Crown/Coke to be the tailored drink for the event. I was specific with the temperature of the room due to my thyroid & the month we were having it in, potentially being hot or cold. I was assured that this would be taken care of. We estimated 80-100 people, all day rental -1145pm& assumed there would be dancing so I wanted it to be cooler.The event landed on my sisters bday, I asked if I could purchase a small slice of chocolate cake& have it brought in, in the middle of the event, to give to my sister. Adriana loved the idea &agreed, I paid for this to be done. For cake testing, $50 allowed me & 3 other people to try 3 different cakes. Adriana is nowhere to be found, I am meeting with a stranger at this point who is completely clueless! I showed her (the baker) a picture of the cake I wanted just for a general idea. I was willing to buy the lesser of frostings, of cake, of everything.She said the budget was perfect for this cake. She was to email me a final quote in a day or two. Days later I had to call. Finally, I received an email & the quote was 2 times the amount of money we had discussed. I immediately reached out to Adriana& it was also taken care of, the cake was made for the price we initially agreed upon. Then a distant family member called &was given details about my private event that I felt was unprofessional. She was told what food was/wasnt going to be served,was told prices of things I was paying for & the times of the event, that she was intentionally not invited too! My center pieces would later be stolen from the tables by this person before the event even began.The day comes, &to my surprise there isnt a gift table even set up, my centerpieces are missing, the bartender made mention of how much crown &coke was being ordered& how very little crown was left an hour into our event! She complained about the company, &how that night was her final night with them.The room was 80 degrees when we walked in, we asked 3 different people to turn on fans/AC as it was upper 60s outside. Audio issues the first hour that a employee had to come resolve, missing out on our moment to be announced as husband & wife. I had to ask for & prove that I paid for a piece of cake that was for my sisters moment & didnt receive it until 10 pm, my sister was gone by then. We had no cake cutter so my photographer had to stop taking photos of our event to cut pieces of cake. At 10:30 the bartender acted annoyed with us, I asked what the current alcohol tab was up to as we were required to pay if the $250 minimum hadnt been met, in which she said she had no clue &that she was told our event ended at 10:30! An employee came in & they figured out where the tab was at. I paid over $1500.00 for this event, & even gave another $250 check in the event that the place got wrecked, in which I was told I would get the check back the day after once everything was checked out. The check was not cashed, but I never did receive it back! In fact, when I emailed my coordinator (Adriana) in reference to all these things that I felt went wrong, I never & to this day have not received anything back. Not even an apology for the multiple issues that occurred!Money wasted in my opinion, the venue is beautiful, which is really what you are paying for, but the service sucks, the employees demeanor was terrible and the coordinator wasnt even there the day of the event she coordinated! I will never recommend this place for a wedding reception based off this experience & quite honestly I may never dine or drink here as a patron ever again!

Literally my favorite place in town, great atmosphere and the Cuban Latte in a mug is tops... Great late night hang out for us with some great desserts. And starting to host live music!!

Update to my last review 9 months ago. We were here again on Aug 2. Great service, great drinks, but the cake disappointed. Chocolate and coconut were dry. The rainbow cake didnt taste like it has the past several times, and it was also dry. Well be back again around Christmas hoping the cake improves back to what weve had in the past.

Love this place! I come back from KC to visit family and this is my go-to coffeeshop when I need to work. It reminds me of a few in KC I enjoy. Coffee is always great, the place is always clean, the staff is wonderful, and they play a great variety of music as well.

My husband and I stopped by the Chocolate Bar after seeing a movie at the historic Grand Theatre. The atmosphere was inviting. The drinks devine. The baked goods were sinfully delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were several knots of customers scattered around the spacious area. The clientele was a mix of ages from Millennials to Baby Boomers. I couldnt believe I was in a bar and actually able to converse with husband without shouting. We enjoyed our experience and will return again.

Great environment, not too loud. Great place to unwind that is not a typical bar atmosphere. Great staff as well, very knowledgable about their products and happy to answer all our crazy questions.

We lived in Grand Island for a while but have been south of Lincoln now for 5 years. My wifes favorite was the Rainbow layer cake. I was in GI Thursday, called them in the mid afternoon and swung by to pick up an entire cake for my wifes birthday Friday. I kept it in the fridge overnight, dropped it off at her office a little before noon. It was very dry and disappointing. Kinda a bummer. We threw most of it out.

Ive been going since they opened, and am an addict!VERY consistent in quality, treats, and service, which I dont see often enough.Lemon blueberry pound cake needs to be year round though!And for the favility its small, cozy and ability to have a conversation without yelling is great. Plus really nice *clean *bathrooms

This is agoof place to something other than burgers. Eating there often wouldve made ordering easier. The salad was good but just not what I liked. They had carrot cake that was really good.

Studio k was featuring original artwork by two Regional artists. The artist were on hand to discuss their work and explain their techniques which was very useful. Prices for these and other art Works throughout the studio or very reasonable

I was at the chocolate bar in Grand Island on a Saturday, I had a friend visiting from out of town and had good previous experiences. We had the Cuban coffee unfortunately the service was poor we got our beautiful Cuban coffee in a Styrofoam cup like I was at McDonalds or worse a convenience store, The staff was un-interested. The coffee was delicious and we got some truffles but got them in a sack instead of a box.

Have never really received the best service from this place. Geel like the drinks are very overpriced for the little you get. On one evening I literally waited for almost 30 minutes for a drink that was only half full. No apology from the bartender or server. There were people that walked in after I had gotten in there that were served before me. I had to remind them twice about my drink that I had already paid for and not received yet. I prefer to skip this place when I am out with friends.

It is a nice coffee shop with lots of seating. The ambiance is of a quaint city shop with all the same nuances except you can actually find parking, lol. Staff was friendly and knowledgable. This place is definitely worth trying out.

We stopped in after a concert at 10:30 Saturday night. Many folks had same idea. We paid 16.00 for 2 coffees and 2 pieces of small cake. 1 coffee came, later the cakes came. 15 minutes after that came my coffee. I got a sorry when it was put down in front of me. No cream or sugar that was taken during time if order. Worst cup of coffee I have ever had. My 2nd experience, my friends 1st. Full cup of coffee left behind . I left a tip at time of check out.

A Chocolate Bar that falls short on their selection of chocolate. I love the fact that they serve drinks and the staff are friendly. But its a Chocolate Bar with a VERY LIMITED selection of chocolate. This place serves drinks, limited chocolate, lunch, dinner, and they close early if business is slow. This place has an identity crisis. Maybe they need to provide all these alternatives to attract business - I dont know. Maybe if they were truly focused on selling chocolate the people of Grand Island would not support them - I dont know. I just know this place reminds me of someone in search of themself. Once you find yourself, I may visit again.

The Chocolate Bar is one of the best coffee shops in Grand Island. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting and the paninis are extremely delicious. You should also try a slice of their amazing chocolate cake. Just be sure to ask for your receipt to get the wifi password. Alcoholic drinks are served here as well.
