This is hands down the best gun store in town, if not the state. You would be hard pressed to find anyone more knowledgeable than Dwight and Tony.  The selection can be limited but that’s the way supply is at the moment and not a reflection on the store. I have never had a problem ordering anything in.I have been through Dwight’s CCW class, and he is an authority. Not just on the laws, but the logistics of carrying concealed every day and how the public reacts to firearms. After his class you will feel comfortable with what you have learned. He even offered to take people to the range. He is patient and a great instructor.Tony knows guns and ballistics and is great to work with. I trust his opinion, a true armorer that is very knowable and quick to answer any questions.

I originally gave this review four stars. After writing it I decided it deserves five. Quick review, I am buying my next firearm here and here is why. The customer service here is top notch.The staff and owner are extremely friendly and willing to talk about exactly what type of weapon you’re looking for and what some good options for you are. The owner, (Dwight I believe his name is) impressed me with his suggestions of other guns I might be interested in. I was looking for a new shotgun for Waterfowel. I told him what I was looking for, what I had, my likes and dislikes with my current firearm. He pointed me in the direction of a few other guns and he was spot on. The cool thing was he showed me two guns that were cheaper in price but not quality and asked what I thought of them. He then suggested one shotgun that was priced over the one I was looking at. He then pointed out which gun had what features and laid it out in a way that basically said ‘this gun has this feature(‘s) X over this or these. So basically you are paying X amount of dollars for it. That way I was able to weigh out did the price justify it.To reiterate, I will buying my next gun from here.

Got a really over priced tru glo scope. Found tge sane scope that costed me about 300 after taxes for 160 before taxes. Brought it back after it shifted in the hardware and expressed my concern with the scope and the owner just got an aggressive attitude. Now, months down the road I an seeing an O ring pop out of an area where my focus lense connects. I havent even put 500 rounds through this scope let alone taken it out more than 3 times. No drops, nothing other than outta the gun case, out to the desert, and coming back all ruding in a case. Immensely expensive, doesnt care about doing good business. He just wants to get your money. I will never be back to top shot.

In this day and age it’s probably a good idea to practice kindness & show respect to your customers. When my husband and I walked in there was no one else in there other than the owner and we were totally ignored. When we asked if you had a specific rifle you said “I doubt it.” and immediately acknowledged some folks that walked in. This shop lost a potential (large) sale because the owner was rude and non committal. I’m baffled because my husband is retired military and I am also a veteran. We’ve never been treated this way. We will be taking our business elsewhere.

I went in and purchased a Glock 19 just over a month ago. The owner was very helpful. He was very informative on the gun itself as well as the prolonged background check due to the Coronavirus. He even threw in 100 rounds of ammo at a great price for the purchase. Also, its roughly $20 cheaper than anywhere else you go to receive your concealed carry permit with a purchase of a firearm through their store.

Rude, a holes, no returns ever, better off at Jerrys 100% despite cost at least they can accept returns.

Who closes a door 15 min early when a customer pulls up and tries to walk in? Totally unacceptable will be spreading the word about how awful their service is. Never gonna go here. Owner was extremely rude; or whoever was there that day. I was pushed out the door once they realized I wasn’t there to buy that day. Guess what? I am buying a gun today and it’s not from this shop. Daniel (the old owner) was so much easier to work with.

I’d give 0 stars if possible. My boyfriend bought a gun here and as soon as he got a receipt is where the customer service went horrible. The gun only fires one bullet at a time even though the magazine loads 10. Dwight said this is perfectly normal for a high caliber rifle to not feed all 10 rounds. He supposedly sent the gun back to the manufacturer and it was returned with exactly the same problem. Went to the range with Dwight and he again tried to convince us there was nothing wrong with the gun. We tried 3 magazines and 3 types of ammunition and still the same problem. Dwight blamed it on the magazine and supposedly ordered us new magazines. We have not heard back from him so we bought another new magazine from another dealer and different ammunition.....same problem. I highly encourage anyone looking to buy a firearm to go elsewhere. We now how a very expensive paperweight.

Running their business like a hobby is an understatement. Daniel has no follow-through skills what so ever. It took a month to complete a transfer and when I received the transfer it was missing an item that I ordered. When I contacted him regarding it he told me he would look into it and then never did. After two weeks of attempting to contact him in hopes of resolving this peacefully and receiving no response whatsoever from him, I am now in the process of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I have also contacted the ATF and the Mesa County Sheriffs office. My next step will be to take this up with small claims court if he refuses to provide the missing item I ordered. If this is the kind of experience you want to go through to make what should be a simple purchase than by all means make your purchase here. Just remember you will get what you pay for. Next time I will purchase local and pay more to better service and receive all items I ordered. I have never come across such bad service in all my life. I am completely disgusted with the entire experience. I wish I could just return the entire purchase and purchase it elsewhere. I will never do business with him again!

I would give it zero stars but it wont post if you dont give it at least one. Went in and asked a simple question about payment method on some ammo and got laughed at. Then I just got started trying to make my purchase when he got a phone call which was obviously somebody wanting to make a gun sale which I guess makes my ammo sale unimportant. Stood there patiently for 15 minutes while he was on the phone completely ignoring me and I finally walked out and took my business elsewhere. My wife was also in there a while back and said he was totally rude to her. We have spent a lot of $ there in the past dealing with a fella that we really liked and thought was the owner but he no longer works there. I will never take my business to top shot again and I recommend you dont either. Very unprofessional

The guy treats you like you dont know what youre talking about. Then when you dont buy what hes pushing he pouts and basically shows you are no longer welcome.. I felt me comfortable when the original owner was still there. I caution anyone planing on spending money there. Unless you like being treated badly.

Went in looking for information on some handguns as well as a rifle and a shotgun. Owner was there and gave us quotes if he didnt have it he could order it for us. Customer service was awesome he worked one on one with us to find a handgun for the right price and the right fit. Really happy with the weapon I chose and cant wait to get out to the firing range.

I recently had an incoming transfer done through Top Shot. I received fast, courteous service and was out the door quickly. It was the first transaction I have done though their shop and I was very pleased at both the service and the pricing. I will be returning for any special order items or future transfers.

Top Shot is a great place to buy guns ammo and to get information and questions answered. Its a small shop so you get that hometown feel with really friendly staff! Daniel is always happy to help and goes the extra mile to help his customers. I would reccomend them to anyone.

For two who have degrees they sure run the business like a hobby. I called to inquire about the availability of accessories. I was by the wife that they didnt have them there, but had a source and could have them in within a day and I would be called back with the price later that day. After waiting a week, I called back in; there had been no research done (or at least no internal communication about it), no knowledge of inventory, and no apology or explanation. As someone who also has a business degree from the same institution, I can say that they failed to actually learn that the focus of the business is the customer. They are the reason a business succeeds, not an inconvenience that must be dealt with. Good luck with your endeavors, Ill be shopping elsewhere.

Just purchased a custom made holster for my firearm. It is beautiful and perfect. I tried different holsters from online sources and had to return them. I highly recommend purchasing a custom made holster from TopShot in Grand Junction CO.

Purchased an AR15, was told it was an Anderson Arms product. You can check them out at their website, they have interesting products. It came in an Anderson box with an Anderson owners manual which indicated the firearm had been manufactured using their patented RF85 process. So I had not been using any lubricant when cleaning per the mfgrs instructions which tells you to clean it with soap & water. Accuracy started to get worse after approx. 1500 rounds or so, I was thinking I was going to need to buy a new barrel. Then I saw the DPMS stamp back on the bottom of the barrel at the hand guard. It was not an Anderson barrel. The lower receiver is Anderson, but now I realize it was custom built & all the other parts are from different manufacturers. Yet it was represented as being an Anderson product.

Top Shot is the only place to go! Daniel will even remember you and what you asked about the last time you were there. His prices are also much better than any place in town. Thanks again Daniel!

These guys are great! definitely the best prices and i have compared several guns at all the local gun shops. my first visit there was because absolutely no one could get me a specific pistol anywhere in town and one gun shop never heard of it which really surprised me because they carried all the other models in that line but daniel was able to get for me in just a few days no problems whatsoever! excellent customer service even when his store is packed he gets to you in no time and is courteous with everyone. always has good recommendations and knowledge on nearly any rifle or pistol and has a very easy layaway program. I have sent many people to his shop and everyone that i know of has left happy with a new toy! will continue to buy more guns only from Top Shot!

This is the worst customer service shop in Grand Junction. Also the prices quoted are not lower than competitors, in fact they are higher. If you have an issue with something, the staff will get offended and Daniel will throw you out of the store along with profanity. I got threatened and my handgun was aggresively escorted to the front door. If I didnt grab it, Daniel would have dropped it on the pavement outside. I trusted them before today but havent experienced this behaviour from a business in my entire life and I am an old man.

Terrible gun shop now. They will try to sell you something you dont want and act like your stupid for looking for anything different. Used to be great, dont know what happened.

UPDATE: Tried the store again. Just as bad. Wont be back.YEARS AGO: Guy there was frantic about my son near the fish tank for fear he might break it. He puts out a mounted rifle on the counter and then gets testy when my son touches it. Every time I go in, whoevers behind the counter is complaining about other stores and their pricing. I want to shop the mom-n-pop stores, but I cant stand the condescending mansplaining typical of some gun stores. I left there and went directly to Cabelas and bought a Glock 42 and paid less.

Very knowledgable and helpful willing to go the extra mile and able to do so and flawlessly a more ready able shop for upgrades and finishes makes them the easiest to get the custom look I was looking for. Their prices cannot be beat I would recommend them to everyone whos looking for a new firearm of any style.

Nice and helpful people but their claim to have the lowest prices is not true. My Wife bought me a shotgun from there and I found the same gun a couple days later for 250.00 cheaper.

Bought an AR that was supposed to come with a p-mag and it came with a dpms mag. Bought a Ruger sr-1911 that is supposed to come with two mags and only came with one. Then I bought another gun from him that when I went to sell it turned out to be stolen.

Ive purchased a few guns here & these guys are great!

Their location has moved to 2454 Hwy 6&50. I only found that out when I happened to be driving by and saw their truck in the parking lot nearest the highway. I went in there to browse what they had and to get a copy of their FFL for when I order parts for a gun Im building.

Guy behind counter is clueless and seems to be occupied with day dreaming rather than helping customers. Way over priced and guns look used rather than new; test fired way too many times.

Well I purchased a new in the box M4 and when I went to shoot it, well it didnt even fire or eject the round took it back to and no help of any kind so after that experiance I will not ever shop there ever again, not even sorry and I was just in the way and it was a very unpleasant feeling I got from Daniel the owner like O Well next please..
