We have purchased Ethan Allen throughout the years and have been fortunate to have a designer or design team interested in our satisfaction with our purchases. Therefore we decided to go to Ethan Allen again to update our home. I am still at a loss as to how to explain what happened but the designer we met when we visited the store came to our home after realizing we were serious about purchasing and drew up a plan for us. We were optimistic as she has years of experience and had her own shop in Tennessee. We made some changes to her plan but ended up interested in purchasing a sofa/chaise with a chair to complement the sofa plus a Ming chest, Lambert tiered dresser, dining room light fixture, rug for dining room and kitchen. We also were interested in purchasing window treatments, rug and chair for master bedroom. The designer ignored my comments or questions in person and via email. Multiple times - consistently. I forgot to bring home a rug sample after visiting the showroom and emailed her twice asking if she could drop it off as she mentioned previously she would be willing to pick up forms we had for window valances as we were not too far out of the way. Given we did not hear from her we picked up the samples the next day as the sale was ending soon. When we walked in the showroom and asked about the rug sample she said ‘Oh, I was going to drop that off tonight’. My spouse and I looked at each other and I will let you guess what we were thinking. She wanted us to buy a sofa/chaise that clearly was too large for the space we have. When asked questions she seemed to want to dismiss us so we would leave the showroom. We were interested in taking advantage of the sale at that time but realized we could stagger some items in future purchases but we were clearly ready to buy. I don’t know if she was not feeling well, had a better client she wanted to spend time with (although initially she assured us she would have plenty of time to work with us), our home was too small to qualify us as clients or there was some other reason that caused her to lose interest in assisting us in buying the furnishings but it leaves us unsettled still. It should have been a fun, enjoyable experience but it was perplexing and unsettling. She made it a point to mention that sales were down - it has been slow - which adds to the confusion of why she dismissed our desire to purchase. We did place an order for the Ming chest, Lambert dresser, dining room light fixture and dining room rug. The fond memories of Ethan Allen designers working their magic are now a faint memory and I do not see us ever returning to Ethan Allen again. Sad and puzzling.
Cathy Lynn and Dawn, are super kind and caring and very helpful with extensive knowledge of their products. When I first noticed the price tags I was greatly discouraged, but was informed by them that the price is less due to monthly specials. Would 10 out of 10 recommend them any day hands-down. Super kind caring individuals who are very professional.
The ladies here are really fun. Theyre also wondering when the gray faze will end. I thought I was the only one.One lady goes to Porkbelly and gets the most boring sandwich in the world. She puts like nothing on it. Then she hides back in the bathroom and eats it.She should hide with that pitiful Sammy. I mean come on you went to Porkbelly and you came back with that??? It takes all kinds I guess.
Nice staff great furniture but super high prices
