The team over at Central were very attentive when working at my property. Service was completed and verified with my system working efficiently. From a loud unresponsive unit to fully functioning. I can’t say enough about the crew. The office manager was very professional and got my services scheduled very quickly and was kind and courteous.
We have used them several times over the past couple of years - first to limp along a dying heat pump system until we could afford to replace it and then for an install. Every member of their staff is courteous and knowledgeable. They always show up tidy, on time, and ready to work. The owner is a dedicated to getting you what you need. Our budget was tight and he did everything he could to keep us going for another year and then get us the system we needed for the price we could afford. I highly recommend them.
I called about my air conditioner that broke in the middle of the night. They responded right away and came out to fix it, at a very fair price. I would recommend this company to anyone.

She was patient with me and even worked with my schedule to get the workers out for a good time for me since my schedule is weird. The workers work in a good timely manner as well. This company has done work for us twice, both times under contract with a home warranty company. And despite them being jacked around by the home warranty company and not being paid promptly, they did not let that affect the quality or speed with which they performed the needed repairs. Their service technicians are polite, efficient, and well organized. I highly recommend this company, as they have gone above and beyond our expectations!

My water heater randomly went out on me one day and I was so worried about how much it would cost and how long I would have to go with no hot water. I called central Indiana cooling & heating, spoke with Shante, and was quickly relieved. I made a same day appointment and they arrived just when they said they would. I was very pleased with their professionalism as well as punctuality. Definitely will be calling them back if encounter another emergency!
I have an earlier review listed under Ann Reynolds. For some reason this is showing up under my sons account but he has given permission because he says that he is also suffering the effects of not having a working air conditioner. We sizzled through the heat wave last year as our unit went out last summer. In my earlier review I stated that we filed in small claims court against this company, and left a negative review that made their ratings even lower than they previously had been. Larry, the owner, was livid about the review and complained heatedly (no pun intended) to our attorney. By the way, we only hired an attorney to take over the case because after we filed, Central Indiana Heating and Cooling made a counter-suit by falsifying over $4000 of fictitious bills and sending us a letter saying that if we did not drop the suit they would counter with the falsified bills. Just to clarify, we never owed them a dime. When we paid for service, we paid at the time of service. We were under a service contract, and our unit broke an average of 2-3 times per year for extended periods. It was completely false. Anyway, after going to court, and Larry and Shante lying in court trying to state that we did not pay them (which was such a blatant lie as I had saved all of our original receipts, which we also presented in court) the court found for us and ordered the company to pay us costs and attorney fees. It was truly astounding to me to see Larry and Snante stand in the courtroom and take an oath to tell the truth and then just lie. I thought that this was illegal, called perjury, but the judge just found against them. Now, let me tell you about the reviews. We left that negative review 8 months ago, which inflamed Larry and Shante. Now I see that the ratings have gone up and wondered what happened. Look closely. I posted my review 8 months ago. There are a total of 18 reviews. The majority of the reviews prior to mine were negative or tepid. It is amazing to me that IMMEDIATELY following my negative posting, as in 7 and 8 months ago exclusively, there were 13...count, 13 of 18 total, 5 star reviews posted. None have been posted SINCE 7 months ago. Seriously? They lied in court, they provided a faulty installation and maintenance on a unit the is currently not and was very often not functioning, Larry repeatedly made false claims about why our unit did not work because really the unit and install were faulty to begin with, and it seems very obvious to me that they somehow planted 13 5 star reviews 7 to 8 months ago to mitigate mine. SO, we are waiting on this payment that has been ordered by the court. I finally contacted them, because my attorney is unable to due to the judge requiring Larrys company to have an attorney. They responded to me that they sent payment in full to my attorney. My attorney had not been to his office for a week due to stay at home orders, so he went to his office and did indeed find the mailing. It contained 14 checks written in a self-designed payment plan, giving us a small payment to be cashed in monthly, once per month, until July of 2021. Seriously! I am astounded at the lengths this company will go to to lie, game, scam, and cheat. We need the court settlement in order to start repairs on our system, and the weather will be heating up soon. At this point we will have to go BACK to court, which will be delayed due to the covid crisis, for seizure of assets. I have advised the company, but they just say that they sent a payment arrangement. There is no way that I would trust these checks to clear for the next 14 months. These people are not only incompetent but completely without ethics. This trickles down from Larry to his office manager, who will lie for him with impunity. Amazing. We have been to court multiple times. Now we will have to go back to court again, and Larry will have to pay for both his and my attorney again, and we still have no AC. Crazy.
I worked for central indiana cooling and heating for a year, then found out that the owner didnt withhold any of my taxes for state or federal, and sent me a w2 (as I was an hourly employee.) I had to pay 5000 dollars out of pocket just to catch up with my taxes and do a fair amount of side jobs for a friend of mine who is a lawyer on top of that just to make sure he would pursue the case. Later after reporting to the IRS that they are essentially committing fraud they informed me that a w2 hadnt even been submitted to them at all by Larry for my 2017 taxes, which has complicated the process and the lack of communication from Larry and the office is causing this to drag on forever, luckily they are going to stay on it until the situation is resolved since we are good friends and I am willing to pay thousands of dollars extra if I have to to ensure he wont get away with this. shouldve known something was up when I didnt receive check stubs and the owner literally had me sabotage someones unit that wouldnt pay. I said Larry this isnt legal and his response was mechanics are allowed to do that. I also have two tickets on my driving record from being lied to and finding out the hard way that the van I was driving with a company bodywrap was utilizing a license plate and registration from a van Larry had scrapped. All in all if you value the character of who youre doing business with and the stability of a company sidestep this dumpster fire. Notice how all the 5 star reviews are from the same month when this company has been around a long time
Had questions about heating and cooling one of my new locations on the southwest side of Indy and the staff were polite and excited to be able to provide me with information to move forward with my renovation! Made me feel so much more confident and comfortable about me decision to Renovate the building ! Awesome Company!
By the time, I called this company I had already had 3 others to come take a look at our furnace, which was an old school boiler system. They are the only ones who was knowledgeable on what we needed and got us fixed up in a timely manner!
I would leave negative stars if it were possible. We had our full system put in in 2011, We have had LOTS of trouble, with service calls an average of 2 times per year. Because the system has been under warranty, we have not been charged for most of the calls other than cleaning and maintenance. However, often it has taken several visits to fix the problem. We have had no heat in the winter and no ac in the summer. We have had to utilize the emergency heat for long periods of time which drives our electric bill up, purchase room heaters and air conditioners, and because the service hours are 9-5 M-F, I have often had to take time off work and lose pay. This summer, while the heat was in the 90s, our ac was out for 6 weeks. We had many visits. Larry, the owner, kept stating that there was nothing wrong with he system and that it was simply too hot out, and tried to blame the failure on us having multiple dogs and cats. The temperature in our home was over 90 for several weeks. I had to purchase two window units and a portable ac unit, and we had to keep the fan running non-stop in addition to these items. Our aged dog and our French Bulldog were in great distress and I feared that they would die if I did not buy the portable unit to cool their area. Our electric bill for this two month time frame shot from 200 to 650. I informed Larry and his officer manager, as I have in the past when the breakdowns caused us a great deal tof trouble, time, and money, that he needed to replace the entire unit and if he did not do so we would be compelled to sue. After multiple visits, at all of which Larry was proclaiming the unit sound, Larry finally repaired it by fixing some broken wires. At that time, he continued to deny that he had fixed it because it did not fit the story of the unit not being able to keep up with the heat and the multiple pets. However, after he repaired the wires, which evidently had led to the thermostat, it has been working just fine. Our temperature has gone from 90+ to 70. He just does not want to admit that due to his negligence, and telling his workers that they need not look for a repair, we went through six weeks of extreme discomfort and a great deal of extra expense. After all of this, due to dishonesty, incompetence, and constant unit failure, we asked if we could transfer the warranty to another company, because we no longer wished to use this company. We were informed that we could not, so we filed suit in small claims court for our expenses accumulated due to constant system failure and the loss of the remainder of the warranty because it will not transfer to a new company. Our fear is obviously that the system will continue to malfunction on schedule and we will end up having to replace the entire thing as soon as this company is out of the picture or the warranty expires. In response to our court filing, Larry Stone sent us via certified mail altered invoices from the past service calls that were covered under the warranty, changing them to say that we owe the company over 4000 and falsifying the invoices to make us at fault for the failures. Evidently this is a scare tactic, and if we back off of the suit, he will not proceed with the fraudulent counter-suit. He included such details as that the heat pump did not work because it had a stick in it (of course it did not, it is not close to any trees and we obviously went out and looked at it before we called, we would have removed a stick), the wiring to the heat pump had been broken by a trimmer or a pet (The pets again! The heat pump is not in the fenced in part of our yard and our pets have no access; we do not trim our yard, and even if we did, the heat pump is in a area that is bare dirt.), and that the ac unit broke down because we had it set at 68 instead of 70, which was the temp that he advised. Now we are going to be compelled to hire an attorney. Not a smart move on the part of Central Indiana Heating and Cooling. I have copies of the original invoices, so it is easy to prove the alterations.
The woman in the office Shante was very professional and polite and the service was amazing. I’d recommend this company to anyone who wants good prices and great service.
Complete bait and switch sales. Received quote, then once agreed on the price we were charged another $90, reluctantly agreed then told it would be another $200 plus. Very reluctantly paid as we needed our heat fixed for our customers. Firmly asked for a paid in full receipt which they sent. Then the next day was billed another $216 from an alleged unpaid invoice form 2016! It would be comical if their business practices where not so predatory

I would never recommend this place for an ac. They claim to provide a warranty. It’s a scam. Our ac was only a couple years old when it quit working. They came out and said no problem you are covered under warranty. 2 weeks later we got a bill for almost $1,000 . They charged for all kind of parts and service. One little part was covered apparently. The unit only cost $4k to begin with. On top of that they were rude beyond belief. I learned after the fact that a previous employ who is now retired said they are the worst. They completely screw people over routinely. Do NOT under any circumstances use them. You will regret it. I’m contacting the BBB on them.
