My nephew recommended I give this place a try, and Im glad I did. The atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing, Ive been coming for nine months and, despite being a 40-something, I feel right at home. The Kava Colada is my go to - although the on-tap Kombucha is also fantastic. The staff are all fabulous: Jessica K, Ryan, and Katarina are quite enjoyable to talk with! As someone who has never cared for the bar scene, this place is in a class of its own. Give it a try if youre in the mood for something different.

I have been coming here regularly since 2019. Such an amazing, chill, and relaxing environment. So many of my friendships started here - which I’m so grateful for! All the kavatenders and the owners, Gabe and Debbie, always go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and loved. And of course, the kava is top-notch in quality. Definitely a must-visit in Greenville!

Great place and amazing group of people! Theres a strong community here that welcomed me in my first day, and Ive been coming back ever since. The owners are very knowledgeable and love to get to know everyone. The drinks are fantastic. Ive been to 7 kava bars around the country and in the surrounding area and Kava Konnection definitely takes 1st for me. I like to bring friends here, and the community welcomes them in and makes them feel at home. Definitely worth the visit if youre in the area!

First time hearing about Kava, and a Kava bar was an ad on FB. Decided to stop by for an open mic night and didnt expect to instantly fall in love. Everyone was extremely nice and welcoming! The bar tender Jessica was extremely knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and checked in on me the whole night. Definitely will be going again and highly recommend!

Knowledgeable staff and a chill atmosphere. A little too chill for some people, they make themselves a little more comfortable than they should be. But a great place to relax and chill. No pressure to chitchat if you dont want to talk.

The second I walked into this place the atmosphere was so calm a weight was lifted off my shoulders. Certainly a one of a kind spot to unwind and relax in. Very warm, endearing, and accepting environment. I have not been to another business in Greenville like this. The Kava drink I tried was interesting to say the least, and made my mouth feel warm. An experience for sure, I will be back.

Great place for people who like to meet others who are typically free thinkers. Laid back establishment created to give an alternative to what we have been programmed to believe is a meeting place filled with alcohol. Gabe and his mother Debbie have been on the cutting edge of transformation. Gabes personal knowledge of holistic healthcare makes him a powerful person in the upstate.

When I travel to Greenville on business, far from home, I like coming here because it has a very relaxed atmosphere and the staff is always friendly. Great place to write, read, or play some acoustic guitar. Gabe is very knowledgeable about the products. Definitely a chill vibe.

I highly recommend this place. Its such a nice place to study or meet up with friends. They have hundreds of free board games you can play while in store and even old arcade games in the back. The atmosphere is so chill and the people who work there are the nicest people ever. If you have never had kava they make a little sample and give you all the information about it so you are well informed and able to try before you buy. They have a lot of specials and activities going on so I recommend looking at the special board they have in the back (trivia nights, all you can drink kava, game nights) If you dont like that earthy taste of Kava they can mix it up with different flavors and make it really good however you like your drinks. I was skeptical at first about the whole Kava thing but it really works, I highly recommend you try it out.

Great atmosphere, great coffee

This experience was my first time attempting socialization in the area. Ive been to a Kratom and Kava bar in a different area though. The atmosphere was more upscale than Im used to, but the people were not as sociable as I would have liked. The drinks were priced fair, and the server was knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. However, that is the only person I spoke with in the bar. So from the standpoint of socialization, the experience failed. From a standpoint of product and environment, its actually very nice. Of course, the bar isnt necessarily responsible for my social experience, so I think the place is decent.

Really cool little drink bar off Wade Hampton below Bob Jones. The staff are very pleasant and knowledgable about their product. Kava is a very interesting and earthy flavor with a mellowing, calming effect. It can be a bit much on its own, but in the flavored drinks it was really good! Definitely plan to return :)

Wonderful and welcoming service to those unfamiliar with kava and kratom. Enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back.The kava might not be for everyone, but I think I may have found a substitute for beer. Kava doesnt do the same thing as alcohol, but I feel perfectly relaxed and still clear headed. Kava definitely isnt as tasty as beer (maybe for my tastebuds), but the effect may be better.

Perhaps it because you are a small business you feel the need to tell people, euughh maybe you can come back next time? when they arent offering to spend their money there, and if that is your policy, I dont have a problem with it. Id rather not be granted entry into your establishment with no plans to purchase something and feeling as though I am disrupting you and the other patrons. I would like to add that yes, every single time I have been there I HAVE purchased drinks because I DID want to support The Kava Konnection.Either way, I dont plan to spend money there in the future because I wont return, especially after the manager couldnt even be bothered with coming up to me and my friend to explain anything and instead resorted to juvenile whispering with one of the co-workers about whether or not to grant us the ten minute entry we requested.But, thats okay. You win some and you lose some.

You have never lived until you have spent a relaxing evening at the Kava Bar. The staff is super friendly, personable and brilliant. This is the best place to relax, enjoy a myriad of kava and herbal tea selections, play a board game, join one of the live music nights, participate in a poetry night or just enjoy some excellent conversation. They only have like 3 things to drink that dont have kava in it. They shouldnt call themselves a tea bar. I felt like I was the only person there not mellowed out. Definitely dont go if substances make you uncomfortable

Interesting place. Location is convenient to downtown Greenville. The staff seems quiet, but somewhat helpful. The games and books available is a plus. Seating is comfortable. I recommend the hot chocolate kava.

The best non alcoholic bar in the state. Im biased, but the bar is outstanding. People of all ages, and generations congregate and drink ceremonial now of what I can only describe as an earthy, bitter tea that is strained and served cold. Goes great with regular milk, or coconut milk. They sell kratom and kumbucha. They have the first kumbucha on tap in South Carolina. Beautiful people up there too, and the coolest and friendliest wait staff in any venue you could go to. Oh, and people of all political beliefs, genders, religions, and races sit together and have civil discussions and co-mingle as a family. Its equally beautiful and chaotic in the most relaxing way.

Great place to relax and have a kava drink

In no way am I overestimating this statement.The kava bar saved my life. You could say it was kava itself, but the people drove home a sense of being so hard that after the kava calmed my anxieties I found that I had a reason to keep on living, loving, and writing poetry.I should really go more often, but my life is a whirlwind. Soon the storm will settle and theyll be more shells to pass around. Until then drink one for me, its only like $4 a piece anyway.The only downside here is that they only have one location. Maybe if I could install Gabe (the owner) into the side of my home that would solve the problem... idk, maybe Ill try it next time Im in.Wait thats kidnapping isnt it.

Great place, all the customers and staff are nice

My husband and I had so much fun here! We had NO idea what to expect, but we drink kava Yogi tea at home so we were curious. Neither of us drink alcohol, so it was so nice to have a late-night social option. The bartenders were soooo nice and funny...and very knowledgeable too. They had a little laminated menu that described the different drinks depending on how you wanted to feel. The crowd was mostly young 20-somethings but I did see a trio of 50 year olds. Our kava drink was very bitter and didnt last very long, but we felt this goofy euphoria for a few minutes. I would love to come back and try other options!
