This review is only for this location not Firestone as a whole. As a former employee of Firestone I have resisted posting a negative review for this location in the past however since it is a repetitive thing the feedback is necessary. The manner in which employees at this location speak to customers is absurd and unacceptable by the Firestone standards I was taught while working for the company. The first instance was with my wifes vehicle and snide comments made when I purchased a new vehicle so I have taken my vehicle to the dealership since knowing they charge more just because of the attitude of employees at this location. However, It has been two years so I went to schedule a drop off state inspection and the individual made it sound like he was doing me the favor and my business was inconvenient by fitting in a drop off appointment scheduled a week out. Being a former employee I understand the back end and how things get busy however, we never turned away or gave the impression it was inconvenient for us for a drop off for a PA state inspection especially with that amount of time given. I called other mechanics in the area just to see their wait time and apparently this location has to be the go to for everyone in the area as no other shops and dealerships had issues with availability for drop offs all week.

I should have saved myself $60 and you tubed how to do it, considering my car wasn’t even there for 3 minutes . I will never return here and will warn others what a rip off this place is . It’s seems I’m not the only one with bad experiences either. WRONG OIL FILTER!Inspection and simple oil and filter change causes engine damage! This past week took my vehicle to Firestone Hanover PA for an inspection and since it was due for an oil change, an oil and filter change. When picking up the vehicle the engine oil light was on and the engine was ticking. We inquired to the tech, well call him B, about the situation. He told us that the light was on when we dropped the vehicle off, which it absolutely was not.We drove the vehicle home but thereafter the vehicle would not start. After contacting the manager he had the vehicle towed back to their facility where they pulled the codes. The code came back as po520 and po600, relating to oil pressure switch. I was informed that it would cost 463$ to change the oil pressure sensor. Since I thought the quote was very high to change a simple sensor, I opted to drive the vehicle back to my house.I started looking at the vehicle and decided since the oil pressure light was NOT on previously, I would review the work performed. When I removed the oil filter cap I noticed that the filter appeared to be crushed into the filter housing. That didnt look good! I decided to purchase another filter from the local AA store. I replaced the filter and wualaa its a miracle, or was it just using the correct replacement parts. The oil pressure indicator lamp turned off within 3 seconds and the check engine went off shortly there after. So, not only is B a horrible mechanic who cannot select the correct replacement oil filter, he is a liar as well. He went back and doctored the invoice/work order to state the oil pressure light was on when receiving the vehicle which was an absolute lie. We were quoted a repair cost for 463$ to repair a non existing problem, a problem that I fixed for less than 8$, and a problem created by their B.I have no idea what/how much internal engine damage has occurred by starving the engine of oil, but it did shut off several times driving it home.In closing, DO NOT take your vehicle to Firestone Hanover PA until/unless they remove this tech completely from the staff. He should not touch another vehicle and cannot be trusted not to falsify documentation.P.S. Mr. Bogast, the manager, is VERY professional and has my utmost respect for trying to resolve the problem.

As a previous inspector for New York State I can confidently say this place will take advantage of you during inspection time and make up issues that aren’t even legit, especially for those with modified cars. This time around they argued my front window sun strip was not compliant with this state regulations while it happens to be the sun strip within the factory glass and is within the AS1 federal and state specification. When asked to show me and explain to me the issues they refused and stated “we can file a complaint with our quality assurance person and get back to you within 5 days”. This place is a joke, should be reported to the better business bureau!

Definitely a 5-star company. I had two flats and needed someone to come out to my place and replace the two tires. They told me they dont really do that, but they figured out a way to get it done - same day. They came out, took my two wheels, brought it back to their shop, changed the tires, and brought it back and put them on. And they charged me an honest rate for their time. Will recommend them and will use them in the future for sure. Thanks guys!

I stopped in several weeks ago to check for a leaky valve stem. I arrived 15 minutes before they opened. I explained the issue and was told that it could take most of the day. I left and went to where I should have in the first place, Mar-Bar. They measured my tire tread and informed me I was 4/32. I decided to get a new set of 4 tires, replaced all valve stems, and replaced all like tire sensors as they were not working correctly. Firestone missed out on an $1,100 sale. Yesterday, Sunday October 25th, my son and I were driving home to Virginia from Harrisburg, PA. Around 3pm on US 15 somewhere north of Gettysburg, I experienced a blowout of one of my tires. As we were roughly 100 miles from home, I knew that my spare tire would not be able to withstand the full trip. To make matters worse, I did not have a jack in my car, so I needed to wait on roadside assistance to arrive.Being a Sunday afternoon, very few shops were open to complete a repair. I managed to find this Firestone store in Hanover, PA and called to explain my situation; that I was stranded on the highway, waiting for assistance to arrive, and needed to purchase a new tire to avoid having to wait until Monday for shops to open. I further explained that assistance wouldnt arrive until close to 5pm, and that I was still about 20 minutes away, and likely wouldnt arrive until 530-545. Brett, the store manager agreed to keep the store open beyond their 5pm closing time to help us out and get us back on the road.Brett and Chris were absolutely awesome and understood my unfortunate situation. They went above and beyond in making sure that we could make it home that evening without an additional stay. I commend them for their remarkable service and understanding.

#disappointed #buyerbewareIve used them over the years for state inspections and until this year have had no issues. This week I took vehicle in for PA state inspection, was informed had a brake problem (which did not happen until their tech got in vehicle to start the inspection) wanted the car to stay overnight for further diagnosis. They claim it needed brake work due to pedal going to floor, new seat belt due to wear and potentially some suspension components. Would need to repair the brakes then take it for a proper test drive to complete an accurate estimate. Baffled because i had just driven over 100 miles with frequent stops and had no issues. I requested they return vehicle to me so I can properly diagnose at home. (I held a PA vehicle inspection license at one time and perform almost all repairs myself)The car felt exactly the same leaving as it did entering their parking lot. I found absolutely nothing wrong with brakes at home. Pedal was firm as it should be. No leaks to be found. I waited to write this review after I had another PA inspection station perform an inspection. (neutral party, no idea I was elsewhere or anyone had failed the vehicle) The vehicle did not need a single thing. Brakes good, suspension good, safety equipment good.I can only conclude that due to my inspection sticker being a few days out of date they (Firestone Hanover, PA) thought they could make big bucks off me. (did they think I would be scared to drive on an expired sticker) or... their tech and service writer (Brian) are paid commissions on repairs and falsify needs to boost sales. Its too bad, they lost me as a customer and I am happy to share this story with anyone I know looking for a service center.i can only imagine how many repairs they perform to unsuspecting customers.

Youll see a lot of reviews that say I got my vehicle inspected and they say that they need around $2000 worth of work to pass. Well, those reviews are telling the truth. Im giving 2 stars because they are friendly folks, and they update you through the process. They replaced my brake line and got my windshield wipers to work again. So they recommended I get my inspection done there, too, and I did. I certainly wasnt expecting a laundry list of things needed to pass their inspection totaling about $2 grand, including my front bearings that were done a year ago. Also, the word warranty popped up more than once while being told what all I needed. So I took my truck to a mechanic that was recommended to me by more than one person, and he passed my truck the first time. Didnt need new shocks, or wheels, or front bearings. Oh yeah, the first thing they said I needed were new tires. Imagine that. Oh, and the Firestone card they try to push on you every time. Cant take no for an answer, but got to keep saying it. So take it from me and all those other $2000 inspection reviews, and dont go here for that. For other repairs, then yeah go for it. Theyre nice and punctual for the most part, but I cant help but feel I was trying to be taken for a ride where my inspection was concerned.

I went to firestone in Hanover because my check engine light is on and i live in pa so that location is close to me so They hooked it up and said it was my airbags causing it and I would have to go to a toyota dealership for it to be fixed. Either way I left the Hanover location and called the westminister md firestone where I been going they actually took their time and did what they had to for me. I tried to explain to him there is no such thing as GVW, and he was confusing GVWR with CURB/Base weight. My vehicle is RATED for a gross weight of 14,000lbs but only has a BASE weight of 8400lbs. Brian would not listen and refused to accept the documentation from the manufacturer confirming the Curb weight of the vehicle. I am now without my vehicle for at least 2 days while the dealership works on it, all because the technicians at Firestone cant read a door sticker.

Honestly, there are too many negative scenarios for me to include in this review. I had visited this Firestone (to have oil changes) several times, and everytime I go in, there seems to be a different employee working the front desk, and they all seem to follow a different ”procedure” (if they even have one) Depending in who you’re speaking to, even the price for an oil change varies. One time a serviceman charges you a certain price, and the next visit, depending upon who is at the front desk, they charge you something different. I have just witnessed some too many questionable tactics take place while I’ve been in the waiting area. The last and final time I was there, I was told that I needed 4 brand new tires, when I had just had them looked at by a close family member who has been a mechanic for nearly 20 years. They also pulled similar tactics to the other women waiting with me. After my first visit, I thought the world of Firestone, because there is one incredibly sweet older gentlemen with glasses who works there, and he seems to be the only employee who genuinely cares about customers. I don’t know if all Fireatone garages are like this, but I do know that I will never, ever be taking my vehicle to this Firestone ever again! Please use caution, and be educated if you do choose to visit this particular garage *shake my head* It’s truly disappointing.

I took my car in a month ago for a simple oil change and either because they never changed it and charged me anyway or because they gave me very little oil as a replacement, it wrecked my cars engine. It cut off on my wife and I when we got off 83 south in Baltimore and would not start again. We checked the dipstick in the presence of witnesses and my oil was low; almost nonexistent. I called the shop and their manager started stammering and tried his hardest to feed me a bunch of excuses, including having leaks in my engine. I went through Bridgestones incredibly ineffective claims process and it was found that there were no leaks anywhere. HOWEVER, they managed to somehow get themselves off the hook because the Firestone on York Rd in Baltimore, MD (another shady location) put more oil in the car before their 3rd party inspector came and the car had a full 5 quarts of oil and could start again. I went through their equally ineffective appeal process, which I was told takes five to seven business days for a response. Here is it, day nine, soon to be day ten and I have heard nothing from them. Do yourself a favor, take your car to literally anywhere else if you need some service performed. I will never go back to them again and Im still waiting for a response from them.Update: I emailed that social care email address that I was sent and I was told that I would be hearing something from them. That was days ago and I have not received anything from anyone. At this point, unless they want to reimburse me for the down payment amount of my new car, refund me the money spent for a service that was either never performed or haphazardly performed, and reimburse me for the money that I had to spend on a rental car, all because they wrecked my car, I dont want to hear from them. They claim to care about their customers, but not only have they wrecked my car and done everything they can to be absolved of blame, but they also lie about responsiveness. I am entirely frustrated and absolutely disgusted with this company. Do not contact me again if you have no real intention of actually communicating with me.

So i used firestone today to get an oil change and tire rotation done while in the area for work. They came recommended as some of my team use them for fleet vehicle maintenance.Spoke to Jennifer the day before and she ensured i knew of a $15 coupon for my full synthetic pil change and when i mentioned a 9.99 rotation coupon she didnt have it but told me to bring it with.I arrived and spoke with a different service person who told me it would be 3 hours if I used the tire coupon as they had to do a full inspection. He was very aggressive when i said i just wanted the fluids checked, tires rotated and oil changed. He then told me itd be until 1130 for the oil and tire rotation. It ended up taking a half hour which is great however where i reduced a second star was little things like they left my gas cap open which was accidentally done when they opened the hood and they did not reset the tire maintenance system which is just above the oil change which they did reset. They also did not top off any under hood fluids as my coolant and wiper fluids were at the low end nor did they adjust tire pressures to the manufacture recommendation as i usually run higher in the front and after my tpms readjustes to the rotation the rear tires were now much higher then the front.Jennifer was pleasant to deal with but the other issues have made it so i wont go back for a subpar $80 oil change and rotation with the coupons

Theyve got a good hustle here at this Firestone... I know you have to meet quotas but its wrong to rip off people who dont have $2000 to spend on stuff that isnt necessary. Its awful because they know that we have to have the inspection done yearly so I guess they figure its an easy way to get $$$$. While they are very friendly in the shop, I have had multiple experiences that make me unable to trust anything they tell me. They are absolute salesmen. First of all, if they even look at your car for a minute, without touching, they will charge you. I took my car in because there was clearly something wrong with my left front tire area. I told them what I thought it was, the bearing. They talked me into a full inspection of the front of the car and because I am not a mechanic, I thought that would be safe. $80 later, they tell me it is in fact my left front bearing that is the sole issue. They could have simply checked that first but knew they could get more money out of me by recommending a detailed inspection. Then they told me a price of over $1000 and when I asked why so much, they proceeded to tell me I also needed new brakes, and a new battery (with their warranty) because mine was getting low. After that, I left thinking it all over. The next morning, my car wouldnt start. Coincidence? My neighbor, a retired mechanic, took a look at my battery and found that the connection had been put back very loosely, and that otherwise my battery was perfectly fine and had no need to be replaced in the near future. I decided after that questionable event to get a second look at the other problems Firestone had pointed out. Turns out my brakes were still better than inspection standards and could last for at least several months longer. And the quote for my bearing was higher at Firestone than 2 other shops I checked. I understand telling someone all the future needs/fixes coming up, but they made me feel like all were needed that day, when really I had one problem that I even KNEW. They seem to look for every possibly opportunity to oversell you, and that is not a mechanic that has your best interest in mind.

Said it would take three + hours to fix a simple flat...not the service typical of Firestones Ive been to around the U.S. Im active duty and was traveling through and in a bind.. I will not spend any of my money at any Firestones anymore. Maybe corporate should employ secret shoppers to see how they are being represented.

Couldnt be happier with experience/service at Firestone. After finding all other mechanics in the area were closed on Sunday, were pretty desperate when we ended up at Firestone. All the staff were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to help us trouble shoot and fix our broken taillights. Highly recommend!!

Booked an appointment. When I showed up for appointment was told I would have to wait 30 minutes or more. There was no room to sit. Sales rep wasnt friendly or helpful. What was the use in making an appointment when they just overbook. Wont go back.

The guy at the front desk his name is Chris he is a peace of work who probably would rip his own mom off I hope that you read this Chris. He ripped my wife off by selling her a fuel pump that at the most would cost her at the most of $325 but he charged my wife $700 for a fuel pump he said that she needed a high performance fuel pump for her car he was lying about that its a 2012 sonata gls it didnt need a high performance fuel pump if it was a sonata sport it possibly might need that but its not. They are scammers dont ever go there. theres a special place in hell for people like him. The company is a scam. Watch after this review the customer service will give me a email address to send them a email of my invoice number and any complaints that I have but they wont do anything to make it right. Chris needs to be fired but he wont be because he made them $700 off of my wife by scamming her.

Im new to using this shop for tire replacements only, 2 sets on 2 cars in 3 days, but I have, so far, been pleased with the customer service and the price of the tires and out the door pricing is fair. They will work with you a little bit on labor price; I too wasnt happy with the price charged for state inspection and they threw me a bone with a 20$ labor discount. I probably wouldnt do major service items here on my imports, but Id rather go here than Monroe or Hanover Lube and Screw. Edit: reduced to 3 stars. They gave me grief about the smallest of pinholes at the exhaust flange gasket and tried to extort 110$ for a what is a 10$ gasket and 15 minutes shop labor - no thank you.. I may buy tires here, but service Ill go elsewhere, anywhere.

If you are a new, young driver, watch out for these guys. My son needed his car inspected and the Firestone crew told him it was not passable unless he got over $1000 worth of repairs. We chose instead to go elsewhere and yes, necessary repairs were made, but at $300.Thanks for trying rip off my son...thought active military special forces personnel should be taken care of, not taken advantage of. Two giant thumbs down Firestone.

Meh. Ill use Firestone because of Saturday hours and easy- online appointments. Its convenient, but these guys always attempt to upsale preventative maintenance, fancy oil or other junk you never asked for. If you decide to wait, try to get a view of the parking lot. These clowns have twice abandoned me in the waiting area without any notice the oil change was finished. For any real car troubles, take your vehicle to your local garage.

Avoid this place like the plague. I took my vehicle in for an inspection and they quoted over 2000 worth of work, including suspension repairs, to pass inspection. After the repairs my vehicle drives terribly. They quoted $700 more just to make it driveable now. Coming from a mechanical engineer, DO NOT COME HERE. I have a feeling my repairs werent even necessary. Multiple reviews alluding to shady practices speak for themself.
