Customer service representative Mr. George Castillo was very helpful and supportive. I presented invoice showing I paid for the new car battery 2 years ago and the manufacturers warranty was honored. George took care of everything and the brand new battery was installed to my Toyota Corolla in 15 minutes !. I am very satisfied and I will come here again for oil changes and to install new tires

Great place to get Car, and Van, service, and Maintenance. Pleasant atmosphere. Sometimes you have to wait, but that depends on how busy on the day you visit. Repairs, and Tools, and Parts available in-store.

Called to ask if I can bring my car in at 2 pm on a Tuesday to check my Abs sensor. Staff member said yes so I went upon arriving I was told that they only have 2 mechanics working so they couldnt do it. So I asked why did someone tell me yes on the phone got no answer. After I asked if I could make an appointment was told by the main mechanic that it is best just to show up any day before 8 a.m. that my car would be first in first out. I Did that on a Saturday waited 4 hours to be told that it was going to be another hour until they can check my Abs computer system. Asked them why was it taking so long since there was only 1 person in front of me. Was told they had appointments and only 3 mechanics. It seems like you lack mechanics how about hire more people and stop taking appointments if your going to have your customers wait almost 4 hours for simply jobs. Ended up leaving without getting anything done because waiting 5 hours these people dont deserve my money. Never going to another Pep boys again in my life.

Literally the worst experience i have ever witnessed at mechanics shop. The date was 7-16-2021 My friend took her car there, first they said it would be an hour before they could look at the car. After 4 hours they never touched the car. Then proceeded to have one manager state the cost would be 1300, and they could start right away, then told they dont have the part, then this happened back and forth. They then after 2 more hours of 3 people telling us 3 different things. They offered to help get us a rental car, only to send us a lyft to a enterprise that had no idea we were coming and had no cars. From which time we were stranded a couple miles from pep boys. We had to walk a mile to get a car from Hertz rental. To make matters worse thay had offered her a 20% discount they did not honor when she went to get the car. To top it off the work was very sub par and they broke her door handle. The car now also makes a weird noise in the rear. Do yourself a favor. Never go here and never let your friends go either.

God awful is my honest review. Brought my ranger in for a quick fix, next thing you know its a couple more things. Ok. within 1 week check engine comes back on, bring it back, oh we need more parts, itll be ready tomorrow. four days later i get it back...within 1 day check engine back on. theyre terrible. absolutely terrible and dont try to make it right

Came here for a flat repair in a company vehicle tire had not been driven on flat and was repairable, tech and service manager lied about tread depth so enterprise fleet would buy 4 new tires.they Also just went ahead and sold 4 wheel brakes. Service manager never spoke to us about any additional work before just doing it, waited here for over 4 hours for tires and brakes that were not needed

Everything has changed since I was there to have my van fixed and they no longer have the Rewards card system, but I still like the convenience that I can still walk to the place despite the fact its a long walk from my house off Moonachie Ave in Moonachie and still have pretty good deals on a lot of stuff

This place is terrible at keeping appointments. Made a 2:30 appointment for an oil change and to get a bolt in my exhaust that they just installed 2 weeks ago and it’s falling off. . Got there at 2:15. At 3:50 they still didn’t take my car. Was told it would be a longer wait. I was told to come back on Sunday and the service would be taken care of. Ok I make a 12:30 appointment on Sunday. At 12 I get a phone call telling me they are crowded because 2 mechanics took off and my 15 minute oil change may not even be finished today if I leave the car all day. Really? Drove to Valvoline and was in and out within 30 minutes.So the exhaust they installed was falling off and they couldn’t keep an appointment. STAY AWAY!!!The one positive was the manager was nice.

Always the service and treatment on the store is been amazing but I took my nephews Civic for OIL change they told me 1/2 hour wait it was fine ..well it took 1 1/2 hour wait then my nephew tell me he hear something under the car driving in highway well the engine shield goes underneath was loose didnt put it the right way ..so I guess no more engine oil change in there

Worst customer service for service. Ive never had this bad service. I highly dont recommend this place. No care for their customers. Had my car serviced here and still hasnt got done for 2 weeks. Every time I called for status update they gave me the same excuse, they cant get the part, they have been trying to contact a specific location for my Part but cant get in contact with the location. I called the location my self and was able to talk to them and said they have my part but waiting for pepboys to pick up my part. What kind of service is this that the customer has to do the job that they supposed to be doing. The worse

Ordered tires on Amazon. Got them delivered to this location. When arrived to the installation they couldn’t (wouldn’t) find my tires. Made me wait for over an hour and not even look for anything. Asked to pay more money! In the end no tires got installed even though they are there and I already paid for the installation. Horrible customer service. Never pick up the phone! Definitely don’t order anything from Amazon they don’t want to work with them!! Bad experience. Thumbs down!

I love this place. Theres an auto technician there, Billy, who has been beyond helpful. He caught major problems my cars were gonna have before they became major issues. Its like a free check-up on the car. He focuses on the stuff that you may have missed and should take care of, which Im sure saved me some major repairs. My dad is a mechanic and he also likes what I say about this place. Definitely plan on going back for everything!

I would have given them ZERO stars, but I don’t have the option of doing that when leaving a review-purchased a “lifetime” wheel alignment @ the Pine Brook store I called first to make sure that they were capable of doing an alignment on my particular car - supposedly they could so I left my car all day for the PB store to do the alignment- picked my car up after hoursThe alignment wasn’t not done properly and she was pulling to the left- Freshly detailed car had greasy finger prints all over (white car) Clearly They are NOT capable....but no worries, With the “lifetime alignment” I’ll bring her to another facility....which I did -today. Again left the car & told them to take their time - get a call back A few hours later that the Alignment was fixed (cool!) Took them 4 hours to change 2 tires. The sales associate initially told me it would only be an hour (yeah right), I went to my friends office and waited 3 hours for them to call me back. I called them back after waiting, and they said another 30 minutes, I returned to the store and waited another hour until they finished. At the end I asked the associate for a discount regarding the amount of time the service took and them lying about the time required, he said well see if I feel like it. He offered $5 off, I told him to get the manager, the manger came and gave half off for the service about $20 (service was about $40 total). Moral of the review: It shouldnt take 4 hours to change 2 tires, be honest about the service time required, and well see if I feel like it is not a good response to a customer..

I had called Yesterday to make an appointment for today, my check engine light is on and had explained this to pepboys.I purchased my car recently through Carvana and I’m still in the 7 day test trial. So Carvana and Silverrock insurance are responsible for handling this. So I went in and they told me I need to come back the next because they need a full day in order to get in touch with silverrock, etc... my car has its check engine light on I don’t exactly have the luxury of driving around more than I should be. This all could’ve been avoided if they just told me to bring it in on a morning instead of making me drive there for my 4 pm appointment to then notify me they need a full day. Very unprofessional and dissatisfied with my experience there will look elsewhere to fix my car.

I did radiator flush on sun 1/22 Monday i drove the car and heard a loud thumping sound all of a sudden I immediately brought it to PB HHN. The strut had just ruptured so they gave me a price of 1,000$ for 2 struts which is an astronomical figure to repair I actually thought the coils were included but Mgr came back with 400$ labor charge. My reg mechanic is doing it for 400$ i went to PB cause I went to Walmart and figure maybe it was their negligence so should fix it. I had food in the car but thank god itt was cold Monday 1/21. I decided to leave when i realized people were trying to capitalize on my situation. So the labor was the whole job in another place unbelievable

I had a horrible experience, they literally broke all my tire pressure sensors and tried to claim it was broken before. The manager does not know anything or run anything, I paid more money than going to a another tire shop. Then when I went to a different tire shop they told me the wheel alignment and tire balance was done wrong!!! Save your money and go somewhere else!!

I came in and placed an order yesterday for today for brake pads and rotors. Was given a call that my order is ready then once I was there I was told the brake pads that I physically saw the day before were unavailable in that store but the ones double the price were there ... right .. The manager was really nice the day I came in not really sure what happened here with the employee the day after but definitely going to return the rotors, up selling is fine and everything but you should never force it. I saw the break pads myself I know they sell them . When I called the girl told me maybe somebody moved them ... what? Upset about the whole ordeal won’t recommend this place to anyone after this experience.

Very good service. This is the only auto repair shop that I trust around here. I actually had these guys redo tire/wheel balancing that I did earlier at my local shop. Word of advice: make yourself an appointment online and the wait will be much shorter. Thank you.

Read till endLet me just say that the parts employees are great, the manager was very helpful, kind and really cares about the customers,service however was awful, it’s like they don’t want to be there, had my car in for new tires and not only didn’t they balance the wheels correctly, they damaged my rim. After 2 hours of going back and fourth they stillRefuse to take responsibility. I came to pepboys trusting them that my car would be handled with best care and was clearly not the case. Also they have the the waiting room window closed from looking in to the shop, I’ve been to many pepboys and that was a first, and I had to return to get my wheels balanced a few days later after it appeared to shake after 50 mph, after waiting, they told me they balanced all 4 but saw the tech only balance 2, said that they were good, when I drove off it was STILL shaking. Took my car to the dealer the next day and had it done correctly, I would not recommend the auto service department.

If you want to waste your time and money, come to here.-I changed my all 4 wheels --> put a wrong tire, which was even cheaper than what I paid for. No apology and had to come next day and wait 1 hour and 30min just to replace to One correct tire.-Got low tire pressure less than a month from the purchase of the new tires--> the mechanic said why you had a different air pressure on all 4 wheels. I told him that you guys replaced my wheels and put air in the tires. I never had this low tire pressure problem with previous tires for 2 years and half.-Got nail on my tire and had to replace spare tire with a new one --> Took 2 hours and 15min to replace one spare tire to one new tire. Was the store busy? only 3 waiters and among them I came first. But the other waiter was fighting with pep boys people bc Pep boys people tried to do extra things and charge more for the customers car and pep boys people mixed English and Spanish and they thought the customer would not understand Spanish but the customer understood and the fight began. They came 30mins later than me, but fought and got a better price and got it done earlier than me. I guess if you are being quiet and nice, Pep boys just have you wait longer and dont care.

My front brakes and rotors went out yesterday while I was in Newark for a concert, and because of that I was under a huge time crunch. Ariel at this pepboys worked with me to get this all replaced while I was at the concert, and then left my car safely so that I could pick it up after hours. Bought tires there w/ road hazard plan had an issue with 1 tire that required 4 trips to the shop. the tire they repaired looked different as it had more wear & less tread. they finally decided that we didnt do anything shady & replaced bad tire. was close to contacting corporate office but decided they honored the hazard plan

Don’t never ever come to this location unless you want to die! Here is my story:I had a nail in my tire one day, and I told the customer service rep that the where the nail was. After one hour wait, he came back says everything is good. Then I had to walk into there shop to show them where is the nail. After 20 minutes, they told me nail was removed, but it didn’t go through. Ok, then I left the shop. After about 3 weeks, I did my brake service. And I found the wheel lug nuts on that tire wasn’t tightened at all!!!!! It can be easily removed without breaker bar.

Every single person who I encountered at this location was either incompetent, deceitful, or both. I was lied to about wait times, prices, condition of my vehicle. Services were performed on my vehicle which were not authorized by me. I had to come back the following day to rectify an issue which was not there when I initially dropped off the vehicle.Ive heard horror stories about this location but never would have guessed the type of operation that they are running. 0 stars. Stay away.

Very unhappy with the costumer service, they made me wait all day for approval from fleet and happened to find out they they made a mistake on their end, went in at 8:00 am and nothing was done till 2 pm, I used to send my work van and personal car here for service . 2/8/19 Went to Pep boys for the first time to get an oil change.. what a mistake.. as I was driving home I can hear a noise coming from my car than something was dragging. Not sure what it was so I continue to drive. when I came to a stop to back up something fell off my car.. place it in park and notice fluid coming from the engine of my car.. there’s a popping noise and now the engine is rattling.. now I have to cancel my plans and drive back to pep boys so they can find out what went wrong.. this is such an inconvenience... this will be the last time I ever come to pep boys for any services

My experience was OK with them. Some delay with time in and time out in reasonable amount. Quality of service was good enough - oil change was done, but service due light reset they were not able to do.So if you do not expect premium service or get it done very fast - they are good. I would say average impression and experience. Prices are good as well. I may go there again for next repairs.

Great customer service!! I have 3 local PEP BOYS to choose from and like this one the most. It is smaller than the Hackensack location, but the stzff is much friendlier. I would reccommend eitherlocztion, but if you have a choice, pick Hzsbrouk Heights.

Worst experience ever victor should be replaced went there for my 3 o’clock app arrived early was seen by victor and waited almost hour when someone else came after me and immediately was taken in for the same service.. I went back to the counter with no one in sight waited for maybe a minute until someone said are you being help sir and responded what’s the holdup for the oil change victor never put the work order in and my keys still laying on the counter I just asked for my keys and left favoriting the other customers for some reason....the someone came in for the same service and immediately went on the lift go figure this place isn’t ran properly no ones never in site gotta question there credibility the only thing I wanted was an oil change simple....never again not this pep Boys wow

I only previously trusted a family member mechanic to work on my vehicle. After having Cesar (manager) working on my vehicle, I havent gone back to anyone else. Your car will be treated as if its his car. Its hard to find someone who will tell you what is required/suggested and not to lie to you in an industry that its so easy to suggest things, to inflate your bill. Due to Cesars honesty and commitment to excellence, I have had him work on my vehicle for the last few years, Ive had other make and female friends go to him. Many told me, wow, I didnt get that, your car is too dangerous to drive BS that many shops try to do, to get the work and drain ones pocket. Ive even done things that he recommended I do just because I know he was being honest and told me that it wasnt immediately necessary but that would need to be addressed. In a world of management forcing sales/profits over a true great customer service experience, its great that Cesar knows how to tell you the true story while staying aligned with company goals. Ive had many friends tell me that hes their mechanic too now. Cesar must own stock in the company because the way he and his team run things, it looks like they really care their customers!

Total ripoff joint. I was questioning their prices when I got my oil changed there then when I had an issue with my wipers something didnt feel right. They charged me $50 to look at what was wrong. Doesnt seem that bad until you realize I could see them from the waiting room and know that that charge was for a total of 10 to 15 minutes of work. THEN they cam back saying they dont have the parts and that to fix it I would have to pay around $500 more. Part of that assessment was that the wiper motors needed to be replaced. I stepped back and did some research. Ultimately for around $80 in parts I did it myself after a YouTube lesson on how to change out the assembly. The motors ... just fine so they totally lied about that. No way will I ever set foot in that store again. Impossible to prove but it feels like the manager has to be in on the idea of telling people to replace parts that dont need it. Why would a regular service guy come up with that?

Professional, friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and great price. Thats a tough combination to find, Ill definitely be returning for the majority of my services and parts needs. Scheduling there is quite unusual, but they have Saturday and Sunday full service hours, which is AWESOME and makes up for the scheduling issue. I would recommend them for most any service.

Whenever I have something to be fixed on my car I go to Pepboys HH and was very satisfied. A couple of days ago I went there to fix my car which didnt start and has battery light on the dashboard. They changed the alternator and battery and I thought that was it but then they approached me and told I have to replace the water pump too. As my car was not drivable I have no choice to look for another shop so I let them fixed it to the tune of 1400$, well they refunded the battery cost as its under warranty but I still find it very expensive. My car is just corolla and I guess wont require much labor compared to other high end cars. Even the parts are expensive. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!I went to PEP Boys on Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ to get a backup camera installed in my car. They did not have what I wanted, so they told me go online, find what I want and purchase it, and then call for an appointment and they would instal it. So, I got home, went online and ordered one that fit my needs.When I got the backup camera I called the store and made an appointment. I had to cancel the appointment because the day I was supposed to get the installation done I was having a job interview. No problem to cancel. They told me call back and make a new appointment, ...and good luck on the interview! (Really? They dont know me. WOW!) Had the interview, called to see if they had anything that day, and they come on over. The person who was going to do the installation came up to me while I was in the waiting area. He told me that the camera I had purchased would have to cause them to drill the back of the car. He told me I dont want to do that because when I sell the car there will be a big hole in the rear of the car. Then, and this blew me away, he said he went onto the website of the company I got the backup camera from. They make a camera that gets screwed onto the license pate.I just got back from having the hole kit and caboodle installed. What a pleasure. Definitely a place to go if you need to have work done on your car. Clean, courteous, and they do the job right.

I recently had a flat tire and it was repaired by Bill. The service he provided was excellent and explained everything he did to service my car. If you need a flat tire repaired, ask for it to be repaired by Bill. He is great. Highly recommended!

Went in for an oil change. Was provided an estimate of 1 hour. But the whole process took about 2 hours. Manager apologized for the delay and provided the service for free.Staff was courteous. Will recommend and go again for the next service

Terrible service. Had an appointment set on Monday night for 4 tire installation. Dropped my car off half hour early. Told me to come back 2 hours later. Came back 2 hours later,was told another 20-30 minutes. Came back after 30 minutes,was told sorry another 30-45 minutes its been over 45 minutes... Terrible customer service. No point in making an appointment

Very attentive, helpful staff along with the best prices in the business and service bays to gix your vehicle whether a battery or tires same day.. I actually had a full set of tires replaced an hour before close and they did it enthusiastically. Good business because they have good prices, great availability of services and most importantly, good people.

1st time at Pep Boys on route 17. The employees were nice and helpful it seemed like the service was quick.On the way home my sister and I noticed that the car ride was a lot smoother and quite than before.
