This is a very good shop. Very busy rentals. Quality repairs. Ive had several minor repairs and overhauls done there over the years. Also had many family members rent from there, sometimes large groups. First with Schu, now with current owners. They are good, and deserving of your business.

Been here many times to get my bike serviced. The staff is always so friendly and helpful without any expectations in return. A friend of mine put my new bike together and put the front fork on backwards 😕after claiming that he knows what he’s doing and has done this many’s times before. 🤦🏽‍♀️Came to Hermosa Cyclery and they totally set me straight. Definitely the go to place for servicing your bike needs. 😃 👍🏽

Solid guys, good adjustments. Came in with an unadjusted derailleur, they took care of it for a reasonable price, didn’t oversell anything. Will be back for sure

Great service, the price is reasonable and the bikes are in good shape. The reason I took a star out its because I rented a trailer for my young son, and it was dirty, full of sand. They didnt take a minute to clean it before renting it out. I tried cleaning it myself and even then was too much. I felt bad I had to put my baby in there - I shouldnt have done so.

I had been lookng for a bike shop to work on my cruiser for months. It belonged to an Army brother of mine who unexpectedly passed last year. He was a bike fanatic and had installed a 3-speed internal hub gear on this bike. It was now intermittently failing; it would randomly slip out of gear or suffer coaster brake failure. I read somewhere that Hermosa Cyclery had some experience with internal gear hubs (IGHs). My hopes were initially dashed when I called and the young person on the phone appeared to not even know what IGHs were, but he said to bring it in and ask for Bill.So I went there and asked to see Bill. He took a look at the bike and said, Oh! An SRAM i-Motion 3-speed internal hub. Let me guess...youre slipping gears and losing your brakes. To my relief & delight, he knew my problem before I told him and he knew how to fix it! I went in fully expecting to have to get a whole new hub and spend hundreds of dollars. Instead, Bill fixed it for $40.Also, this is a great little shop that caters to beach cruisers, which is great! Everywhere else seems to focus on expensive road racers. The workers are really nice, too. If you are more interested in the beach cruiser side of cycling, this is where you want to go.

Easy rental experience. Had a blast riding a bike for the first time in 7 years...in fact...it was just like ...riding a bike.

I biked 38 miles from Hermosa Cyclery to Will Rogers State Beach and back along the bike trail for the all day cost of $24. It included a relatively secure lock and a basket for my bag no extra cost. I used the bike without gears and without the handbrake so I braked by turning the pedals backwards. I had no problems. It was one of the best days of my life!

Staff was friendly and very helpful. No hassle, quick efficient service for the high demand time (we went on weekend), bikes came with locks and optional helmet and basket. They sized and picked the perfect bikes for us.Im short so often need to have adjustment for my size.. however walked out after signing paperwork (so quick) and bike was at perfect height and fit without any fuss, or taking any extra time to measure. The people here are incredible- friendly and profesional. My first visit was to pump air on my personal bike, and one of the workers helped me through the whole process. Second time I was there, rented a bike and was in and out in less that 10 minutes on a Saturday morning.

Great location, reasonable rates, and bikes are in good repair. Loss of one star due to the fact that, while all employees are wearing masks, they are not sanitizing bikes between rentals (and they did not let us know this until after we rented). Bring your own wipes and hand sanitizer and youre good to go!

Came in to get my front derailleur adjusted. Have no idea what happened, cable must’ve snapped on my long ride or something. But, they were able to adjust the front derailleur for me and everyone there was super friendly and helpful. They have a wide variety of accessories... bought a hydration pack that I will definitely use in my next ride. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking at bike rentals, repairs, or to shop at.

To expansive. For that rental prices you can better get a car, which has the same price. Bikes are rusty and not in a shape in relation to the Costs.

Super helpful staff. I brought in an ebike from an online retailer that was defective and they went above and beyond to help and did triple the labor for what I paid them for to help me out with trying to assemble a defective bike. I should have just gone there to start with when looking for an ebike instead of thinking I was an expert shopping online. They really know their stuff there and prices are just as good as anything you can find online.

This is the best bicycle rental and repair shop in the south bay. And the prices of the bikes they sell are competitive too. Best experience renting beach cruisers here, as well as my road bike tune up and repair too. The staff is extremely helpful. Knowledgeable and always welcoming. Free air to any riders that come along. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would.

I love this place. Today, on our way home, the brakes on on my bike broke, both of them! We were lucky to be at Hermosa. We know that the guys at the Cyclery are always nice and kind, you can always stop there if you need to pump up some air in your tires. Jake fixed my brakes with a big smile, and he did not charge us. My mom said his hair was really nice. Thank you Jake!

I dont write reviews but I just had to due to how impressed I was with these folks at Hermosa Cyclery! I have a Xioami M365 electric scooter that had a front flat and they fixed it for me when nobody else in the area had no idea how to fix it! They did it in an hour or less for the most reasonable price around! I recommend these guys for all your bike needs. Theyll rent, repair and sell you an awesome bike at a reasonable price! This is my favourite bike shop in all of Los Angeles. Great bikes to choose from if your in the market and at the best prices, I compared to a number of others in the south bay, Always helpful, great customer service, friendly, and they also have a great supply of bike accessories to choose from which they will install at no charge. The best part is they have a device located on the side of the building that will pump your tires and its always free. If you cant figure out how to use it they are more than willing to help out. Its like a gas stop for your bike tires, Genius!

Awesome shop! I came in as one of the few who rented a true mountain bike from them to hit the trails (visiting from Chicago), and they spent a ton of time with me swapping out components like the seat and seat-post, pedals, etc. Then they loaned me a water bottle and helmet since I didnt have all my gear.They were excited to talk shop and even took the time to pull up a map and describe in great detail the best places I should go for hitting some stellar dirt. Im from Michigan and have been riding a road bike on the streets for 40 years. With family living on the west coast I travel and still like to get some riding in.This was the third time that Ive rented a road bike from Hermosa Cyclery in the last year. I usually take it out for 2-3 days at a time when I stay with family who are living just up the road in Manhattan Beach.I bring my speedplay pedals, helmet, computer, lights, and riding gear. I would bring my bike but it costs on Delta $150 each way so anything under $300 is good. Initially I was renting from Helens in Santa Monica which costs twice as much plus a $2,000 bike deposit and was a 30 minute car ride on a good day to pick up the bike.My experience at Hermosa Cycling has been great. Yes, its not $5,000 bike but it is a lightweight composite with Ultegra gearing. A 2 day rental gets me three decent rides in and costs $140. Easy people to work with.

This is a great place to rent a bike in Hermosa. It is right next to the beach and also located next to a public parking structure where they charge $1.50/hr to park.They rent beach cruisers and tandem bikes. For an extra few dollars you can get a bike with multi-speed which helps when you are going up hill. If bikes are not your thing, they also rent skates and skateboards which includes pads.They charge an hourly rate for the first 3 hours and after that it becomes an all day rate. They require an ID and a credit card for rental.

These guys are great. Super helpful, great senses of humor. Next time I need a bike in the area Im definitely coming back here.

Just from my interaction, they are not very user friendly. We tried to rent bikes for the day and rent them ahead of time. They said no. Then they said no to us renting them and leaving them there for a few hours. They dont seem very flexible.
