I had spoken to Superior Fuel Company over the phone to sign up for their service. Everyone was friendly and very helpful that I spoke with. Prior to being serviced I had to have an inspection of my tank and propane heater. The inspector came on time and was also very friendly. I should be happy with their service as long as it is what I have received so far.

I just had my tank filled for the first time - here is how my process went to get from new customer to this point:1. I talked to two different people in order to set up an account. They differed in the number of feet of line offered free as part of the install. The second person ended up matching what the first person said without too much fuss.2. I was asking to be scheduled the following week for tank delivery as I do not live in my location and was going to be there. I didnt get a call to schedule until the next week after prompting them with an email - and there were no longer appointments available on the day I needed. Tank delivery was delayed two weeks. Oops, we forgot to call.3. The day of installation - I had been told by staff that I would likely see a truck between 8-9. At 9, I called their office but apparently only one person knows how their trucks were scheduled and they were busy. I was told they would look into it, but didnt hear back. I called back at 9:30 and got another staff member. The operations person was still in a meeting and so couldnt tell me when to expect the truck. This staff member called the truck and it was due soon. The truck arrived at 10AM.4. The truck driver/installer was WONDERFUL. Rick was super friendly and got the tank right into the position I was hoping, even though it was a VERY tricky location to place it. He is a skillful tank maneuverer.5. Rick had only manual tools to help trench in the line, so he requested to go under my shed and trench on the two sides. While I wasnt happy with this solution, Superior Fuel offered to do the extra feet at a reduced cost, so I agreed. Rick indicated it was probably 26 of line total. I got billed for 33 - which of course was at an additional expense to me and basically negated the cost reduction that Superior Fuel offered for going under my shed. I dont think this is the right way to do business.6. My tank was filled in a timely manner, about 4 business days later. Rick was back and left my ticket in my door. Rick is GREAT!I dont know how I will like Superior Fuel going forward, but I hope their customer service improves. Their initial tank fill price was great, although they hadnt indicated there would be additional fees on my first fill. While not a huge amount, it was unexpected for someone who has never had propane and wasnt detailed prior. Their billing has been timely and easy to pay electronically. They answer the phone. They are typically friendly. We will see what winter brings!Update: just hours later I received an email from Joe, the marketing manager requesting some additional details. Thats a good sign!
